  • Don't get hyped. Devs also wanted to close the hatch, give survivors permanent kindred, etc.

Never came. So I wouldn't get hyped about the changes until you actually see them.

It's a mixed feeling. I have fun and really enjoyable matches but I also have terrible matches that just make me want to quit the game and calm down.

Solo games: (60% of the time)

    1) Dead by Teammates, just plain bad teammates who crouch all game and refuse to do any gens. Mates get downed within 10 seconds of the chase, always have to save them.

    2) Actually get a good team but this time the killer is a God Nurse with NOED.

Q: Which game was more fun?

A: That's right. Both were bad.

    Don't gen rush.
    NOED only affects gen rushers.
Also, if it would have been a God nurse, then you wouldn't have reached the gate powered phase.

I'm playing solo all the time, because my friends got burned out.
I don't get the point if "good game when I survive" and "bad game when I die".

I escaped with 13k points, Black pip = good game?
I died with 22k points, piped = bad game?

That doesn’t make sense. “Don’t gen rush.” Doing generators is the survivors ONLY objective. It’s like telling the killer “Don’t hook everybody too fast”. What else are survivors supposed to do? Enjoy the scenery of the swamp and wait for Mr. Leatherface to come their direction and sacrifice them? Again...generators are the SOLE objective for survivors. “Don’t gen rush.” Whatever you say.

By that logic, camping doesn't exist. Since the KILLER is doing his ONLY objective: KILLING!

    You guys are hilarious, btw.
  • @Tsulan said:
There is no face camping anymore. It simply doesn't exist.

Also, did it ever occur to people, that the killer camps, because he's losing the game?  Because 3 gens got completed by the time he got his first hook? That he's playing defensively, because another chase like the last one will result in 4 escapes?

Nahh, people escape with 11k bloodpoints and still think it was a good game.

face camping has evolved into staying right next to the hook and tunneling the person if they are saved

    Loooool
You remind me of that streamer who claimed Freddy was face camping him.
    You just made my day!

Face camping was standing in front of the hook, survivors couldn't unhook, because the press m1 to unhook prompt simply wouldn't appear.

This has been removed last year. Now a killer can't face camp anymore. It hasn't evolved or changed. It simply doesn't exist anymore.
But survivors like the name, and call everything face camping:
    - killer stands 40 meters away to trigger MYC? Face camper!
    - killer gets looped in a 40 meter radius? Face camper!!
    - survivor leads the killer right back to the hook? Face camper!!!

It would be hilarious, if it wasn't so sad.

No, they are not the same.
Survivor completely failed in losing the killer.
If survivors gen rush and repair the gens in 3 minutes, then there's nothing the killer can do. He can't get 12 hooks in 3 minutes he can't even get 2 kills in 3 minutes.
Not a pressure problem. Also, only a few killers have high map presence. The others are simply to slow at moving.

Ok just stop, the 3 minute game gen excuse is way overused and most games don't go that fast unless it's the killer 4 king because someone dc's early or crashes during load screen. The only times it's goes that fast survivors winning is if the killers just plain bad, the survivors are competent 4 man swf, the map rng or a combination.

I'd love to see the devs post an average of the game time to finally put an end to that excuse as an argument since we all know since the bnp nerf and other changes it's not valid anymore.

If 3 minutes are overused, so are 4 kills.
    Same story.

Oh i agree and neither side should be able to hit rank 1 after reset for at least 2 weeks since it should take you that long just to grind hard levels out. The emblem system should be reworked as well but a lot of the ideas just won't work.

Emblems were made easier because people wouldn't rank up (maybe some people are not as good as they think). Causing huge queues for high ranks.

Does one of the most used perks in the game need a buff? One could argue that if it is so highly used it could be considered top tier already.

One of the biggest problems is that people can literally spawn next to the Ruin totem, and extinguish it.

Ruin is extremely fragile, and that is one of the biggest reasons people don't use it.

That's the risk you take with ruin.. Sometimes it carries you through a game, Sometimes it gets destroyed early.. On Average it buys you a few minutes of time.

It is easily one of the most used perks in the game already.. If it didn't have a downside it would be in every single game. Seeing it in literally every game would be incredibly boring while playing survivor.

There are like 50 other perks to choose from.. But no-one chooses them.. How about we make the unused perks more enticing to use instead?

I would rather see variety in this game over buffing one of the strongest perks already around.

You see the data, but come to the wrong conclusion.
Ruin is only meta, because killers don't have much else to slow down the gen progress. They are forced to take it, not because they like it, but because the game would take less than 5 minutes without it.

Imagine for a second, that survivors are forced to equip 1 perk, even if they don't like it and on top of it, the killer could remove the perk after 30 seconds. Would you like that?

No one is forcing you to use Ruin. It’s not locked into your perk choice. There are MANY other viable choices for perks. For example on my Spirit I use Save The Best For Last, Rancor, Nurses Calling, and either NOED or Deerstalker (because I’m blind as hell and can never find survivors if I slug). Sometimes I get a 4K and sometimes I don’t. Doesn’t really matter to me honestly. I’m at Rank 6 because it was super easy to rank up as a killer. This is the first time my killer rank is higher than survivor.

Playing against Ruin and BBQ is obvious, reptitive, and boring. Same goes with DS, Self Care, and Sprint Burst. People are going to use them anyways because they are the perks that work the best. Just saying that nobody is forcing you to run Ruin. The game isn’t going to hold your hand regardless if you run Ruin or not. 9 times out of 10 they’ll either power through Ruin or break it in a minute. You’ll still get gen rushed regardless. So was that one hook you got before they broke the totem worth it? I don’t run Ruin because it’s not that great IMO.

Exactly. It's not that great. That's why I don't get why people ask for a nerf. It should actually get a buff.

Well given all the boosted accounts at rank 1 playing like lvl 20 you're pretty close to the truth, that and some people still haven't adapted to the pallet changes.

Although I just had a game where the survivor mentioned they just came back to the game and the match I ran as killer was well enjoyed. Some of my survivor matches at rank 1 people are playing like brand new level 20's although some of that's the event.

Ranking up should be harder and mean something. Award rewards, etc.

Yeah, that's totally a counter. Like cleansing totems to completely avoid the spawning of NOED... oh wait, no it's not.

You can dribble, that's 2 as well as maneuver them to a better spot before downing them so that ds becomes useless.

You can dribble 15 meters. Unless you are close to a hook, DS has no real counter.
    DS rewards bad players.
    NOED punishes gen rushers.
Those are 2 different things, but most people seem to think they are the same.

NOED also rewards bad killers as well as punishing gen rushers since if a killer is bad at applying pressure they can just sit back and do nothing till the end game if it's up. So in that sense they are both the same, they both can reward bad players.

No, they are not the same.

True to an extent and I forgot to add that while everyone is viable at rank 1, some are more viable than others and that not everyone can play all those well at rank 1. On survivor side I can't play David reliably or Bill at rank 1 and Nea I just can't either. I've yet to try playing Kate, Quentin,, Feng, or Ace who i just got yesterday.

I can't stand playing as Laurie for some reason and Jake just makes me want to run to the killer and say take me i'm yours. But on average most killers at rank 1 that know what they're doing can hold their own or better against solo queue.

Duo swf are actually pretty easy for the sneaky killers to deal with since 1 will always try and save the other, so they can just prioritize at that point. The dc does pretty much mean it's a gg unless the killer is a boob but most often it's a 4 minute game for teh killer or quicker.

  • Both sides need more perks, addons, items which give bloodpoint bonus. Also they need to change the way those points are awarded. Best would be post trial, not during the match.

I'm thinking about perks or items that make the game harder, but award more points.
Something like a reverse distressing for survivors. Where it's user notices the terror radius way later, but gets more points.
Or a special item that reduces the speed of every action while carrying it, but gives more points.

I am advocating for other possibilities to help killers out like buffing other perks.. I would love for some side objectives or something else as survivor as survivor is boring af at the moment with all the M1 holding and minimal chase potential.
What i don't want to play against is the same perks over and over and over again. Hence why i said i would rather see other perks buffed over ruin.
I would take literally any other change than having to do more skill checks and M1 every game

Didn't mentioned those perks. But for example, Imagine you would have to take Deja Vu, even if you don't like it. Because EVERY killer plays 3 gen strat. Would you like that?
  • I was hyped for this game until I learned that it uses the same matchmaking as f13: you don't get to choose your role.
That's a no go for me. I want to decide if I'm killer or survivor.
  • So just to make this clear.
You consider that a person being able to perform a abort action during a animation lock, is an exploit.
I assume that you also consider it an exploit, when survivors cancel the unhook animation.

Honestly bring back all the survivor changes (except for the exhaustion one because that one was extra stupid) and just straight up increase the time to do gens. I don't get why it's that hard to do. Sure they'll get backlash, but they're getting backlash either way so they might as well say [BAD WORD] it and do it. Instead of a gen being done in 80 seconds make it 120 seconds and then see how it works out. Maybe remove items like bnps or even toolboxes in general so gens don't pop left and right.

The game is horrible for solo survivors and super easy for tryhard swfs now because they know that the game can be over in 3 minutes so they become super sweaty to try and piss the killer off. Solos are usually there to have a bit of fun playing the game, cleanse a totem, open up a chest etc which will most likely make them end up on a hook and that really is no fun. This is pretty much the main reason why I haven't put any effort or bloodpoints into survivor.

    No, just no!
Gens are one of the most boring things that exist in a video game. Making it take longer would be terrible.
Just give survivors a new objective and then see how that turns out.

I actually don't mind that either. But if things go back like they used to then the game won't be boring because you'll be able to get chased without going down in 10 seconds. And if you happen to escape you can go back to a gen and keep going back and forth between being chased and working towards the escape.

Basically the main problem is the objective itself, it gets done way too quick and this game only needs something that would extend the time it takes for survivors to escape.

Yes, gens get completed to fast. But increasing the gen repair time is not the solution.
One or two more objectives would slow down the game pace.

I'm one of the survivors that doesn't mind doing generators. If they want to extend the game, they could add 5 more generators (require 10 to power the Exit Gates), but reduce the time needed to 60 seconds, I'd be fine with that. It would make gen rushing have a lesser effect in the overall game. Instead of 60% of the generators being completed at once, now only 30% of them are being completed.

I'm slightly hesitant about adding a second objective (looking at how the flowers did not affect game play, as in they could be ignored with no consequence), but I'm willing to see what the devs think of. What kind of secondary objective would you like to see added?

    Gasoline and/or spare parts.
Survivors would have to search and carry them in order to repair the gens. One gen could be simply out of fuel, another one would be missing some parts and the third one could be repairable like the ones we have now. This would allow new items + addons. BNP would have a real reason to exist, killer could focus on the healthy survivor who carries the gas can instead of the injured survivor who carries nothing, etc.

I like the idea of generators being 50/50. There are 8 generators on the map, so the survivors would need to find up to 4 gas cans and/or up to 4 spare parts. I would imagine that what ever part is needed would constitute 25% of a generator's progress. This would provide one of 2 scenarios. Scenario A: Once installed, the generator cannot be set back below 25%. Scenario B: Survivors can repair a generator up to 75% without the part. This way, there would be a rush to find parts and install them to guarantee progress on every generator.

I imagine that Franklin's would force the part to drop (which I also imagine Franklin's would become meta with new items), of which I think it would be a good buff if Plunderer's Instinct allowed you to find dropped items by seeing their aura.

Lastly, would these parts be found in chests or out in the open? Would they replace items, like med-kits and toolboxes, or would survivors be able to carry both?

I think the new parts would have been to be found in special "containers" like a barrel with a gas can next to it.
BNP could be lowered in rarity (or a "not so new part" added) which could be found in chests.
    Wouldn´t replace the med kits.
Survivors would have to choose between the items.

The toolboxes could be used for more things or maybe be more specialized.

I love the idea of survivors specializing in certain tasks and making gen repair more interesting than "hold m1 until you fall asleep".

  • I'll never understand why people complain about NOED. You made it to the endgame, you made your points, you piped, you didn't take your time to cleanse all totems. Yet it's unfair, that the killer can one hit you.
  • What's next, Freddy OP, pls nerf?

So the Leatherface mains switched to Wraith. Doesn't mean that every Wraith hard camps.
I've played against at least a dozen Wraiths during the event. I haven't noticed a change in behavior.
Yeah some camped. So did other killers.

I'd say, give killers something more interesting to do, than standing next to a hook or running in circles.
    People might camp less.

Still survivors don't need items and AddOns, there is the potential to keep and even the possibility to earn items during gameplay. Survivor really don't need that many points, except if they grind for perks. Most killers on the other hand are quite AddOn dependend.
And also each item belongs to that one specific survivor. You have to look what one Survivor earns on average and compare it with the most edge case scenarios of losing 1 item with two AddOns. And I personally think that an average survivor makes more points than they lose on average playing the game.

Survivors can use perks to farm items and addons.
    Killer can´t.

Can someone insert the "killer main" meme, please?

Killer lobbies are only high, because survivors HAD to play killer. 4 times more killers = long queues.

That's it. Nothing else. Survivor hasn't become suddenly unfun or unplayable.

The healing nerf only increased teamwork.

Now, after defending SWF for ages, teamwork is suddenly a bad thing?

    Like, really?

Survivor is still to easy, still to quick to complete the objective, SWF still OP, the majority of the killers are still not viable on high ranks, etc.

But survivor mains think that the increased lobby queues for killers mean that every survivor left the game. Which is simply nonsense.

It’s a bit dusty, but here

Whoops. Sorry I’m trying a new build

I was thinking more of the trapper or huntress mask meme.
    But ok.

    You mean this one.

    YES! Thank you!

good, nobody want to hear your personal biased opinion

My opinion biased? I play both sides on high ranks and I've been playing way more solo survivor in the last 3-4 months.
But I still think that killers need massive buffs.

I'm currently farming the petals with a lvl 37 Dwight. With rank 1 Bond, Rank 1 Deja Vu, Rank 3 Urban Evasion and rank 2 Iron Will.

Unless the other survivors suicide after getting the nectar, I usually make it out of the game alive.

Oh and you can get points in the survival category by healing yourself. SC can do wonders in that category. But someone with 2500 hours SHOULD know that.

We are not talking about killer buff, thats irrelevant to the topic

We are not talking about petals from the event, thats irrelevant to the topic

Not irrelevant to the topic, because thats the ONLY reason killers have longer queues.

"I usually make it out of the game alive"

Never claimed that i can make it out alive every match. Or that i get every match so many points.
But you prefer to attack and insult instead of having an actual adult conversation.

Like i said, nobody care about your personnal biased experience, you are just like those people who say that since they got a 4k with freddy without perk, he's totally balanced, i already told you that, but you seem to have issue with short term memory

I´m playing both sides on high ranks and still get called biased. I guess it doesn´t matter what i do, unless i ask for SWF buffs, i´m considered a biased killer main.

"and you can get points in the survival category by healing yourself. SC can do wonders in that category"

You get 150 bp with SC since skill check goes to altruism, you'd have to heal yourself 40 time with self care to get 6k bp in survival

WRONG! You get 300 bps for healing yourself. Maybe you should try things first, before you talk about them.

talking about killer buff while the main discution have nothing to do with it, babbling about you always getting 60k bp as survivor with wglf, claiming that sc is a good way to farm survival, claiming that you mostly play surv to try and prove your point, and i would nearly think that you are a salty low hour killer main

Learn your numbers, then come back and try to discuss.

Oh and yes, i think Freddy needs a buff.
But no, i´m not a salty low hour killer main.
