  • I stopped using gen slowdown perks a long time ago. Mainly because they are meh at best.

What you can do is tunnel someone out early. If it succeeds, you´ll apply pressure and might turn the match around. Otherwise you´ll see a 0-1 kill and "gg ez" at the endgame screen. Sure, you will get flamed for tunneling. But since you won´t even get a nice message when you don´t tunnel, it really makes no difference.

Oh and on the plus side: this drags the ridiculous red rank kill rate down.

  • The next killer will be someone with a power thats useless during a chase.

IF the power is useful during a chase, it will be nerfed hard after 2 weeks, because of the heavy community (survivor) backlash.

Oof…that’s another can of worms in itself lol. Their twitter page went nuts an hour ago, with distaste for it. NGL- I’m on that hate train as well.

Guess we’ll see when the time comes.

So far i loved every test they made in that regard.

@TwitchyMike I already stated they’re two different experiences. It’s well known here. You’ve seen the threads. Killers have much more enjoyable games playing against solo que than they do SWF. That’s not true in every case, but it is for the majority of the time. Solo que is more balanced than SWF.

@Tsulan Notice how I purposely didn’t say COMPETENT solo que survivors lol? It’s not common to have all 4 survivors on point. Don’t get me wrong, it happens from time to time, but again that’s not the solo que experience. Plenty of threads on here attest to that. I imagine maybe Red Rank 1 survivors have that often, but they’re the top 1% of the community.

I don´t feel like 1% of the community.

Anyway, most issues in that regard will be probably fixed with the upcoming SBMM.

Why do killers complain about survivors?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411110#Comment_2411110

When? When we had real infinites, double pallets, 30 pallets per map, pallet vacuum, windows that could be vaulted from both sides and any angles, 4 insta decisive strikes, instablind flashlights, bnps that instantly repaired an entire generator, generators that took 50 seconds to repair, permanent hook sabotage, no gen kicking, no gen control perks, sprint burst with a 20 seconds cooldown which always recovered, self care as fast as a regular heal, insta heal medkits, jungle gyms and structures without holes into them, no speed penalty when multiple people repaired the same generator(and this list is just off the top of my head)? Do you seriously want anyone to believe the game was somehow harder for survivors back then? If so, you must be trolling.

The game simply did not get any easier for survivors. It's either just as easy as it was before or harder, it can't be easier with all the broken stuff removed.

    We have Haddonfield.

    Double pallets are back.

30 pallets per map? May i introduce you to Meatfactory?

Pallet vacuum is also back since killers can hit through a pallet and the hit gets deleted (has no effect).

Basically all the bad things that were "solved" are slowly coming back.

using streamers as some sort of metric is ridiculous since many of them (at least the ones that are twitch partnered) have thousands of hours in the game.

watching umbra, zubatLEL, otzdarva, etc.. going on a killing/winning streak isn't something that is achievable for the average players.

watching survivor mains running loops around killers making them look stupid having an escape ratio or at least 9:1 while still bodyblocking and being a martyr, likewise isn't something that is achievable by most players as well.

Exactly, when even streamers with thousands of hours struggle to get a decent amount of hooks before the gates are powered, then how would normal killers perform? Which just shows how unbalanced the game is.

  • @skyguys said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411288#Comment_2411288

But in my experience, most of the games I had during the 5th anniversary event had 4 or 5 cakes in them and I walked away with 225k bloodpoints on average. Yeah it's annoying that the cakes were a lot more rare this year compared to last year but I was still able to make a profit from other people sharing their cakes.

People stopped using the cakes once the event was over thought.

So some people managed to stockpile cakes. While others just got toolboxes and no one is using them anymore.

  • Getting 0-2 cakes per survivor web isn´t exactly great. You spend 50k points per web.

  • Thats why events where we can earn offerings like cakes are just... meh.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411142#Comment_2411142

Maybe. It’s hard to use stats or escape/kill rates to come to conclusions. I can say from my experience that most matches are 3k’s and from my experience the reason for this is survivors not trying because they have really specific challenges like “Hide from the killer for X seconds” or “Unhook X survivors safely”

Not that I have an issue with dying since taking this game seriously is long past me but what annoys me is knowing I’m going to lose from the start

Seing the complete opposite. 3 and 4 man escapes. Maybe its a regional thing. But when i watch streamers, they usually get 3 or 4 hooks by the time the gates are powered. Which alings with what i see in solo queue.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411133#Comment_2411133

Trickster ain’t bottom tier anymore. Not particularly strong but still capable of beating good teams. A lot of survivors tools have been nerfed most with good reason and the fact is solo queue has gotten much worse especially with people throwing games for archives challenges.

I haven´t noticed a problem with solo queue. Still having a absurdly high escape rate.

So either i´m a better survivor player than i think, or survivors aren´t in as a bad spot as people claim.

  • You thank the killer for playing perkless after the first 2 minutes and cleanse all totems during those 2 minutes.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2411110#Comment_2411110

How so when survivor is weaker now? (Not saying they are underpowered but killers have been buffed)

Survivors are as strong as ever and what killer buffs do you mean? That Trickster one, where he still is bottom tier?

  • It used to be like that. But currently a survivor can die/dc/go afk with 3 gens up and the others still can escape.

Yeah, but getting competent 3 solo survivors is rarity. Where is always that one CLAUDETTE(doing gens, u?) or flashy hero who does nothing the entire game, goes down and dcs or a framer who wants his wglf stacks and unhooks you in front of a killer or afk survivor and so many more.

Doesn´t has to be a full squad. If you get 1 or 2 more decent people, than thats more than enough.

  • @KerJuice said:

Survivors spawning together is great for the killer. It's when they are all on separate gens you need to worry about... So what if the killer doesn't get there in time? You know where all the survivors are and it won't be so easy to get the rest of the gens done if you're a decent killer.

I don´t agree. Simply because survivors spawning on separate gens creates the false image that killers only suffer from the issue of 2 or 3 gens getting completed by the first hook. But they could get 2 or 3 hooks and THEN lose 2 or 3 gens in a single chase (doesn´t even have to be a long chase).

Survivors will complain about a camping/tunneling killer, even when he only starts to do that while the gates are powered or 1 gen is left.

Fact is, if you boil camping&tunneling down to a simple factor of ignoring everything else and only focusing on 1 thing. Then survivors constantly do the exact same thing with lit totems or gens. Test it yourself. Equip Thrill of the Hunt and try to protect that totem. You´ll get a notification whenever you start a chase, that someone is cleansing the totem. You´ll break the chase to go back to the totem, maybe you get a hit and during the chase you´ll get another notification that the totem is being cleansed. Watch how survivors always come back for that totem, whenever your attention is somewhere else.

So survivors can´t really claim the high morale ground, when they would do the exact same thing as the killer.

Wish that was the case, but solo cue makes it really hard for that not to happen due to lack of communication from the teammates

Thats why Discord or TS give an unfair advantage over solo players.

Since the devs won´t ban those programs, the only way to balance this would be to introduce ingame voice chat or (since people don´t seem to want that) a ping system (chat wheel).

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

But you always have the chance to defend these gens and get hook after hook... surely, there are games you get 0 kills, but that’s few. For me it’s the same like on survivor side: I want good chases, make bloodpoints, and have a nice time. If I get only 1-2 kills I still have my 25-30k bloodpoints and I don’t need always 4 kills and I never slug the last person for that. On survivor side I‘m happy to do a bit of everything: a gen, unhook, healing, chase... it’s fine if I don’t escape too. I make always 16k bloodpoints or more and that’s it. It’s only annoying to get hard tunneled or facecamped on the first hook, can’t play the match and end up with 2k-5k points to wait in the next queue for a lobby.

Thats wrong. You won´t get 25-30k points with 1-2 kills. Literally impossible.

    works.jpg

In order to get so many points you need to get a lot of hits/chases/hooks. But the killer simply doesn´t has time for a lot of hits/chases/hooks when survivors can complete all gens in less than 4 minutes. Injuring survivors doesn´t apply pressure, if it would, then Legion would be considered the strongest killer. But hes mid tier (at best).

So if the killer wants to pressure survivors, he HAS to tunnel a survivor out early. Because thats the only thing that creates pressure.

Remember back when Undying was released? The only complaint survivors had, was that they had to do bones. They didn´t complain about campers. They didn´t complain about tunnelers. They only complained about the Undying Ruin combo. Which showed that killers simply would stop tunneling&camping, when given enough time to play the match. Nerfing Undying was the worst mistake the devs made. Because the perk is trash now and killers feel forced to apply pressure by tunneling (again).

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

As trapper or hag you always should have an eye on your 3 gens

Correct. But smart survivors won´t 3 gen themselves.

  • My predictions from the past were:

    • Dinky the Rodeo clown, who throws cotton balls till you bleed.
    • A pirate with a harpoon that could be used to reel survivors in.
    • Lady Nemesis.

Since my past predictions were pretty close to what we actually got. Id say the next killer is Candyman. Simply because the actor tweeted about a surprise and the chapter is close to the movie launch date.

I love to play trapper and hag, so in all my games the first 2-3 gens pops before I have my first hook and I still get 2-4 kills. Or with my plague I use lethal pursuer, see all four survivors spawn together and go there and infect 2-3 of them and chase the fourth one... it’s a dream <3

Not going to copy my answer...

While i also like to play Trapper, you could end up with a 1 or 2 hook situation. Simply, because Trapper wastes so much time at the beginning.

Survivors don´t waste time on red ranks. So unless the survivors 3 genned themselves hard, it´s a ez escape for them.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

I wrote you my opinion about genspeed in another post, so you know it.

The only problem is the survivor spawn at the begin of a trail. This have to be adjust. But unlike anti-tunnel-perks, the killer can do something against genrush with its perks: ruin, undying, pop, surge, corrupt intervention and so on. DS only gives the survivor a few more seconds of chase, but that's it against a reasonably capable killer

Survivor spawn isn´t the only problem. As the killer could get 1 or 2 hooks before the survivors get their first gen done, but then they push gens and he ends with 4 or 5 by the time the gates are powered.

And regarding the other thread, you didn´t answer my last message.

  • Killers i haven´t seen since the RE chapter dropped:

    • Twins
    • Hag
    • Plague
    • Ghostface

Killers that i have seen really rarely (less than 10 times)

    • Billy
    • Freddy
    • Bubba
    • Demodoggo
    • Oni
  • See, the problem isn´t actually the camping or tunneling. Its the little time the killer has. At the current gen rush meta, killer has no other choice than to tunnel. At least, when he wants more than 3-4 hooks and a "gg ez" during the endgame screen.

    Is it fun? No.

Is it the only thing that works against gen rush? Yes, so until this changes, killers will camp&tunnel.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

I prefer this one gen instead of find one survivor and the other three pop 3 gens during I‘m in my first chase. And btw on killer with lower mobility it’s nice to use corrupt intervention ;)

Then those 3 gens pop during the second chase. Not much of a difference with corrupt. It just changes which gens get done first.

  • Since moris apparently are toxic and the devs want to do something in that regard, i wouldn´t expect much reworks visual wise.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

All 4 survivor spawn together is the best situation you can get.

Not really. First gen will be finished before you reach it and from there they spread.

  • @IOIOO said:

Spirit: A new animation is added when she starts phasing/ no longer moves with frames without addons

Nemesis: Zombies no longer detects survivors if they are behind an obstacle

slinger: is permanently deleted from the game, peace.

    how-about-no-meme.jpg

    ..

  • No fun allowed. Only suffering and despair.

  • The problem why killer isn´t fun at high ranks is based on the core gameplay.

    • gens (the amount of gens/gen speed in comparison to the 12 hooks that the killer requires)
    • survivor hit boxes compared to killer hit boxes (survivors can run tighter loops than killers)
    • external programs that give a benefit over others (voice com)
    • lack of secondary objectives (which get ignored or complained about when they can´t be ignored like old Undying)
    • balancing around the majority of the playerbase instead of top players (what pvp game does balance around bronze ranks?)
    • aiming for 2 kills 2 escapes balance (thats a black pip or even depip for red rank killers)
  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

as I said, just cause of bad survivor spawns or he doesn’t presure gens

Lethal Pursuer made it obvious how often the survivor spawns are bad. Either all 4 survivors spawn on the same gen, then the killer won´t reach that gen before it pops or all 4 start a separate gens.

Killer can pressure gens and still get gen rushed. Since he can only chase 1 survivor at a time.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @Tsulan

There are only two reason for genrushing:

    1. survivor spawn all separate
    2. killer play without pop, ruin or corrupt intervention

If the killer focus only one player (tunnel, camp or commit to a long chase) so the other survivors can easily do gens... that’s a bad play of the killer and surely sometimes a bad powerdesign (low tier killer)

Killers can get gen rushed, when they don´t tunnel.

Killers can get gen rushed, when they use pop, ruin and corrupt (all together).

This situation is just as unfun for the killer as getting tunneled is for the survivor.

  • @Sypherpathic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2405588#Comment_2405588

Yeah, more likely it's just that the killer had really attenuated connection and also got disconnected. OP claims just seem outlandish. I don't call many things impossible, though, but I do rank things by likelihood and try to work on them in that order. It's WAY more likely that it's any of a number of things and not at all likely that it's some killer exploit.

I remember a match where i had heavy rubberbanding. At the endscreen the survivors "reported for lag switching". Next thing that happend was a connection error and the forum was full of people complaining that they couldn´t connect to the game.

In the end, it was a general steam issue.

  • That sounds more like a server issue than the killer suddenly pulling a trick to dc you.

The fact that the killer couldn´t do much during the match isn´t a sign of the killer being bad, but of the killer also having server issues.

Could be that the game matched him with survivors from a different continent. Happens rarely, but happens.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

    @MandyTalk

I think everyone agrees that tunneling is the most effective way for the killer to quickly take a survivor out of the game, but at the same time it is the most frustrating situation for the survivor because he is simply down in one hit.

And we all know that neither BT nor DS can really stop the killer.

Just because something is within the rules doesn't mean it doesn't take the fun out of the game for the other side! Why doesn't DS activate twice, after all you can be tunneled twice or why isn't the stun for example 8 seconds, so that the survivor really has a chance to make distance or hide...? Or why does it deactivate when you get tunneled but manage to stall the killer longer???

It's really cheap to argue that changes to the tunnel theme (same goes for camping) are abused by the survivors, so the conclusion of the devs is "then let killers continue to use these game mechanics, even if partly the survivors are deprived of the fun of the game"....

in my opinion, it is the task of the devs (in the best case in exchange with the community) to look at these mechanisms, and to find a reasonable solution.

Or maybe you should be tunneled away five matches in a row in your game... and then tell us again: „hey, it’s the game rule“

When the survivor gets tunneled, than thats exactly how a killer feels when he gets gen rushed.

But somehow one thing is deemed evil, while the other one is widely accepted.

  • Now that i think of it. Its vacuum pallets all over again. Pallets are now save zones how they used to be. Killers will have to respect pallets, because their hits won´t go through, no matter what.

Which creates another problem on high ranks, where survivors loop around the same pallet until they can hit the killer. If he respects the pallet and slows down, they will loop another round.

Luckily the chances of getting send to the pallet factory are small... oh wait, nevermind. They just doubled the chances.

Ahh fun times for killers indeed!

    ^ This.

And I agree, the Ghost Hit needs to go away, because Killers are not "robbed" of their Hits, they should not get those Hits in the first place.

AND Killers need to learn that they cannot swing at every Pallet and expect a Hit. However, I have little hope that the system stays if they complain as much as they do.

(Killers are complaining more about getting "robbed" by Hits in the past few days than Survivors getting hit through Pallets over the last years)

Maybe killers are complaining for a reason.

Or would you call those legit pallet stuns, when the animation is at the beginning instead of the acclaimed 50%?

Wrong. I could unhook survivors, do gens and get chased and finish off with around 27K points and not earn a single pip. I'd say the rank/pip system is just broken or bugged.

Hard when the killer is AFK or a potato.

I don't like to force chases with baby killers. It's pretty much just prolonging the game and bullying them for points, plus you have to taunt them to get them to chase you in the first place. That's assuming they'll even chase you, because sometimes they're just tilted and determined to smoke the player that's been looping them for 5 gens.

Sometimes the best play is to just keep working on gens and doing anything else actively hurts your chances. Like, if you let the baby killer catch you so your team can start getting altruism points, half the time you're just going to end up facecamped.

I also recall a game where I escaped but depipped because I got caught first and my teammates slammed gens instead of unhooking me, and there was virtually nothing left to do by the time I got off - one gen left with two other people on it, had progressed to second stage so getting into another chase wasn't smart, and barely any altruism because very few hooks happened after I was freed and I was only in position to get one of them.

I mean, you didn't do anything during the whole match except hanging around. Probably ended up with 7k points or something like that.

Do some totems and you won't depip. Even with a afk killer.

  • Do something else than gens only and you'll pip.
