DCing incurs the respective DC penalty. AFKing and sandbagging are against rules and can eventually lead up to a permanent ban.

So why is there a penalty-free loophole via suiciding on hook to achieve the exact same result of quitting out?

Yes, you cannot force people to keep playing a match. That is not the point. They should not have a penalty-free loophole for quitting. You still want to quit anyways? Then DC. (Or AFK/sandbag at your own risk.)

In response to brainless nonsense like "well ackshyually maybe u shouldnt play stuff other ppl dont like then": They are not even remotely equivalent. That is comparing actively playing a part of the game to actively choosing to give up and quit playing the game.

EDIT since I apparently have to make this clear: I am not advocating for punishing hook suiciding. If hook suiciding just wasn't possible at all in the first place, then there is nothing to punish. Example of what I mean:

Lets say you actually are not playing Camp or Tunnel Bubba..

You just wanna play him normal, for fun, like any other killer. He has a pretty decent insta-down mechanic, I am not really even that great with him but seem to down Survivors faster than on many other Killers thanks to it..

Is there any specific reason why he's usually considered pretty "mid-tier" on almost any tier lists that I've seen?

Just curious your thoughts, maybe he has a few huge weaknesses that make him unreliable at higher MMR?

I know about the Lockers, Lockers really do hurt on him, I kind of wish the chainsaw would down people inside of Lockers IF you are willing to Tantrum the Locker the Survivor is in.. I feel like that would make sense considering it is a CHAINSAW lol

But other than that, with the right perks I think he has potential, am I missing or overlooking something?

On that note, could anyone who actually enjoys playing Bubba in higher MMR share some of your builds with me? I am curious, I just started playing him again for the first time in a while and I am having fun with him.

I don't camp or tunnel, always just try to go for ending quick chases on whoever is full health that I can see.

He's not higher because of no mobility/map pressure

Is this really the entire update that we'll be getting? There isn't any perks that you might think need adjusting? No killers or addons that might be overperforming?

I say this because I think most of the community agrees that Basekit Unbreakable and the Finishing Moris portion of the update is garbage and isn't even worth testing, let alone be given a chance to enter the game.

Hope the Halloween Event is good I guess :L

The Iron Will change is a little drastic in my opinion, as someone who plays as killer and survivor. A suggestion: 70% quieter while walking, 80% quieter when standing still, and 90% quieter when crouched. Similar to how uninjured breathing currently functions. Never 100% silent, but something more dynamic than what the PTB has given us. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Completely deleting a aspect of the game (sound) is op asf.

I still dont think that she is that weak. She is not strong, probably not even middle of the road. But she is far from unplayable.

And it is alright that she is not strong, considering that she is very easy to play.

"Considering that's she's easy to play"

Well, then if you want to nerf nurse, you probably want to make her easier too right ? People rarely think about the other side of the nerf

Its not really about Killers being weak.

But just yesterday I had the thought - why is half of my Perk Build being gutted (DS and Iron Will) and the Nurse with Starstruck, purple Range and green Recharge is allowed to exist? Or Nurse in general is allowed to exist?

I remember one of your posts saying that "sadako is not that weak" and "you are gonna win the majority of your games with her",like she's in the top five worst killers list,so his post served you well

Honestly pinhead doesn't sound to difficult to beat. But in practice i struggle so much against him. Most of them run lethal to start the first chainhunt like instantly. They changed it so you get hit by chains again when trying to solve the box. So on some maps i find it nearly impossible to solve the box. He catches up very fast by landing his chains on you. And most of my teammates just feed him the box. I am down for any advice to face him some people have. But i am a solo Q survivor now (since most of my friends left). Any advice is appreciated though! Not saying he's overpowered of course i always like getting advice for killers i have difficulty facing!

Any competent Blight is a guaranteed auto loss in solo que it feels illegal to play against. You can't do anything because they just use techs that makes any movement available to survivors irrelevant. It feels similar to playing against a good Nurse you just go down, the only counter play is to not try and save yourself the hassle of pretending that you can play around their current state of balance. Killers complaining about survivor perks that buy them a few more seconds when the entire toolkit of certain killers just shits on survivors period and makes them unloopable. Let me just decisive strike and get five more seconds to get hug teched by a blight let's gooo.

Every time I see a post about a surv complaining about a killer perk like noed, I always see killers bring up the same four perks as a counter response. Ds, bt, unbreakable, and dh. Now I definitely see how dead hard is a fair comparison or at least understand their pov because it does deny fair hits most of the time and overall I can see why they argue that if noed is unfair so is dh.

I, however, cannot get how bt, ds, and ub are in the same realm??? They’re always brought up when killers discuss unfair perks as counter points but I genuinely don’t understand how these are unfair. They always call them second chancey and a back up for bad plays, but the perks are made to counter otherwise highly difficult situations to escape from.

They’re in the game to make a certain game play style more fair for the other side bc other wise being tunneled and camped would have no legitimate counters, and this is even more true for solo que. It would be nearly impossible to get saves and escapes semi regularly if they weren’t in the game.

And all of these perks can be played around as long as your play style isn’t hard tunnelling and camping. And even then a good bit of the time they don’t help much depending on the killer. Ds? Only used once with a short timer and if you go for the unhooker you don’t face any consequence. Same for bt. Go for the unhooker and you’re fine? Also, on highly mobile killers these counter perks do not do very much to help and only become majorly viable in endgame. Plenty of blights and spirits have still mowed me down a few seconds after a ds stun before I could get to a gate, and fast killers like that can tank a bt hit and down you right after with little recovery time. On slower killers who can’t shoot projectiles I can understand the annoyance at end game more, but it still isn’t very difficult to avoid those perks if you don’t aggressively tunnel and camp. I’m not saying those strats aren’t fair or are toxic, but I am saying they only should be allowed because counter play exists against those strats within these perks.

Same for unbreakable. It doesn’t stop you from slugging, it only stops you from slugging for an immense amount of time before you face consequence. What reason would one have to slug for approx 25+ seconds when objective is to get hook sacrifices? That’s plenty of time to chase someone away in case of a pallet or flashlight save. It stops killers from bleeding out lobbies or preventing the other side from having no counter play for killers refusing to hook and denying saves.

If all of these perks were gone, what would you recommend to do to escape a face camping/hard tunnel situation? Or even have a CHANCE to escape? Letting the others gen rush while someone takes the L and dies because there’s no chance of a save isn’t fair at all.

Yes it’s true they can be abused, but a lot of perks can be abused. Star struck on nurse with infectious can easily give a good player a three man down because of her speed if she felt like it. Make your choice on a hag makes camping so rewardable especially with the add on that allows her to chose where to teleport without having to have traps triggered. Depending on the player and the build and the map many perks can be abused.

My point is these perks are always called unfair for killers during any discourse about broken or cheap perks when they have counter play and, depending on the killer, hardly work.

I genuinely don’t understand why these are always brought up as stupid and unfair and on par with cheap perks like noed and dead hard. They aren’t there to reward mess ups and bad plays. There are hook states in the game for a reason, survivors aren’t expected to never get hooked. So why should getting downed once automatically mean they shouldn’t have a way to avoid getting targeted immediately after a save? Why shouldn’t teammates have a way to ensure someone getting saved can last at least 10 seconds afterward?

I hear stories about bt saves with ds in the killers face to be annoying and all of that, but I rarely see this in my games? Survivors usually don’t do that unless the killer is actively camping, because our whole objective is to survive and willingly getting those saves just risks dying.

Plus you don’t get any points for unsafe rescues? There’s no real motive to do this besides being toxic, but that doesn’t tend to end well on our part anyway and because of that I don’t see any of that “oh well they unhooked in my face before I could even leave the area so I downed them” nonsense. I’m sure it happens and plenty of lower rank players have probably done it out of lack of experience, but in my mmr it doesn’t happen commonly at all.

The only answer I could think of is that the people who hate these perks are people who solely play with a camp and tunnel style. But I don’t wanna assume all killers who say that only do so bc of that play style, because it seems unlikely and that’s a narrow minded view to have. Surely there’s more reasons. So if any killers who don’t tend to play like that have an answer for why they hate these perks anyway I’d be happy to try and understand. Sincerely.

To get to use killer meta, you need to search, chase, hit, down, hook, kill etc... (PGTW,SHPR,SHF,STBFL,BBQ,etc..)

While the survivor meta you don't need to do anything, you just press E (dead hard) or just hold m1 (unbreakable),the only one i can think of being the exception is COH

Now,about BT,killers just hate that you can just use it offensively and bobyblock the killer, and them you are forced to hit them (and give them a free speed boost)

You shouldn't balance the game around being unfun

  • @designator said:

I am sure many of you saw the 40 perk rework announcement. I personally think for the perks listed it would be unnecessary. I realize that the meta is stale, however that is because there are a ridiculous amount of perks on both sides that are simply bad or outclassed by other perks. Like who would honestly run Off the Record over Iron Will? I think if the Devs want more perk diversity, they should buff weaker perks and add secondary effects so they aren't simply outclassed by other perks. For example, Off the Record could perhaps show the killer's aura to you right after you are unhooked or maybe make it so your rushed actions after being unhooked are silenced for a period of time.

I think that every perk they listed on killer side is fine, and this is someone who primarily plays survivor. I have no problem with BBQ or any of the Gen Regressions perks they listed. I think perks like Pop goes the Weasel are already well designed in that they reward the killer for getting hooks and encourage leaving the hook.

The only perk I would like redesigned on killer side is NOED because it is often very predictable when a killer has it; yet, if a killer chooses to camp and tunnel survivors simply won't have time to do totems, especially if they are solo. If you are the type of killer that hates SWF I can honestly say frustrations around NOED are primarily the reason I play in a SWF, and I'm sure other survivors will agree. It leads to boring gameplay where killers feel empowered to camp or tunnel 1 person out because they know a huge power boost will come endgame that can be impossible to deal with even with the best of coordination. Let's not forget it can stack with other broken things like Moris or be used with Nurse.

The perks on survivor side I also believe are fine. BT and Decisive have had a lot of reworks, and I think they are in a healthy state right now. They are quite literally the only tools survivors have to counter camping and tunneling. You may argue that killers should feel powerful and have the ability to camp or tunnel if they want, and I agree. But games where the killer camps and tunnels leads to a fun game for maybe one person, while the other 3 are left playing gen repair simulator. I think it is healthy for them to be left alone as a deterrent to a boring play style.

Iron will is another perk I don't understand why they want to rework. Yes, it is a good perk but it's not broken. If you lose a chase because of Iron Will, that is completely your fault because there are many more indicators that can be used (Crows, Scratches, Blood pools). Iron will also encourages survivors to make riskier plays (Window Techs, Jukes, Flashlight saves, Trying to lose the killer). If Iron Will is nerfed I am sure gameplay will be more boring for both killer and survivor at a high level.

Lastly, I would like to address Dead Hard. Dead Hard has been in the game since David, and I am surprised how many 200 hour killers are talking about how it's uncounterable and broken. Yes it is used more than other exhaustion perks, but I think people are forgetting that's because of the inherent risk of using something like Lithe or Balanced Landing and then getting a map like The Game or Shelter Woods where your perk is useless. Not to mention that it only works when you are injured, a huge disadvantage with the amount instadowns in the game. Dead Hard is a well designed perk as it does require skill and understanding of distances. There are many survivors I have downed after they messed up a dead hard, and there are many times I have messed up my dead hard and have gotten downed as a very experienced survivor.

Dead Hard is also in a way healthy for the meta because it encourages survivors to greed pallets, which believe it or not is better for the killer. A simple experiment can confirm this. Load in KYF with a M1 killer on a pallet heavy map like Blood Lodge or the Game. First play a round with a stipulation that survivors must drop pallets immediately or after one loop. Then play a round where survivors are encouraged to play as efficiently as possible. I guarantee you that you will perform better when survivors are playing greedy, because that often leads to survivors making mistakes and getting downed. If survivors pre drop pallets, it's often worse for the killer as there is little counterplay. I've personally played many games as Clown or Myers for example where the survivors instadrop every pallet, yet I lose anyway because there were simply too many pallets and nothing else I could do.

So Dead Hard and Iron will are completely fine but noed isn't ?

I think Alc Ring, C33, Adrenaline Vial and Shredded Notes need to be looked at.

I don't think it's a controversial statement to say that blight needs a toning down. He's got the best mobility in the game, some of the best and most busted addons in the game, one of the best chase powers in the game, a very short cooldown after using his rush, insane synergy with slowdown and aura perks, he can break pallets with his power, he has 5 whole rushes compared to nurse who has 2, and he doesn't even need to charge his power like hillbilly or huntress or even nurse, he can just instarush. He's even easy to pick up and play, apart from learning his 100 techs and bump logic that make him essentially unloopable. That isn't a bad thing, but it's just the cherry on top of a slightly overtuned killer.

I've been trying to think of how to tone him down without making him bad, and 110% movement speed is the best I can think of. It's silly how deathslinger is 110% and blight is 115% considering their chase powers are basically the same in terms of power. Plus, it would raise his skill ceiling by forcing blight players to learn the power and use it creatively to get hits. He doesn't need the speed to chase, and he doesn't need it for mobility, so I think it's an acceptable change to make him not quite so ludicrously strong.

What do you think? Maybe instead of a movement speed reduction, he should lose some rush charges or have a longer cooldown? I don't hate blight but he feels cheap when compared to other fairer killers like huntress, hillbilly, oni, demogorgon, etc.

Because he can't use his power at every loop, sometimes you just need to chase normally (m1),and you know that 4.4 killers can't chase #########,so it would force him to use his power (not cool).

Just got shamed by a killer because at the start of the match me and my solo teammates all spread out on family's residence and did the first 3 gens solo.

They were playing Clown so obviously they were not going to do well against people who spread out, in the end it was 4e but in end game chat he wrote nice gen rush and that we did 3 gens super fast ???

I mean I am not really sure what people who use this term are expecting survivors to do when they are not in a chase. If they hover around to do flashlight saves or sabo plays then it's toxic, when you do do a gen you are gen rushing ?

"They were playing Clown so obviously they were not going to do well against people who spread out"

You just proved the point that killers have to play S - A Tier killers in order to maximize their potential.

  • @Sluzzy said:

I had a match today that didn't sit well with me. No, it wasn't due to being camped to death and neither was it a Blight slaughtering everyone at 5 gens remaining. Not this time.

I was on an awesome team and the killer mostly played fair. He didn't tunnel or camp anyone. Everyone stayed alive as long as they could in chase and they were glued to gens when they could and was never idle. He even abandoned chase with me because of Tinkerer. There was two different occasions where I had a gen at about 90% and it would have finished but he had the hook perk that removes objective progress and I watched this gen go from about 95% to about 75, and then he walked over to the same gen and removed even more progress and it becomes 50%! Two perks stacked together with POP! This is not fun to witness. So not only did we have to deal with Ruin at the beginning, but it was also POP and Scourge Hook. This is bad and I hope that the meta reworks is truly going to put an end to it because I am very tired of a decent team losing an entire match against a mediocre killer being carried by perks. The Demogorgon places portals next to the gens so he has all-seeing map wide information of what all is going on making him have a very unfair advantage.

Demogorgon should not be able to put portals close to gens, which is the survivor objective.

You can see from our tally screen we all had a lot of points. It was not a bad match, there was a lot of chases and it was mostly a good game. However, the survivors still lost horribly because 2 gens were left unrepaired on the map. The hope dwindled away fast when people started dying which reiterates the point that there shouldn't ever be a point when the match is unwinnable.

The killer won because he had all slowdown perks. We could not finish the gens because he was stacking them and he had tinkerer which basically leads a horse to his water. This is a reminder that BHVR better use this opportunity to make this game fair by preventing slowdown perks from being stackable. It is too much advantage.

It is NOT fun losing because you were outclassed by perks. When in this case, the survivor does not have a means to overcome it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/11VTLAFCL2OO/tally.png

When you start to think that this forum is killer - sided, always remember, sluzzy (troll) posts get upvoted here.

Also,we could say that survivors get carried by second chances perks, except that with slowdown,90% of them you need to hunt, chase, down, hook etc... to get it to work, while second chance perks are just free and that's it.

Killers were granted so many options of applying passive gen pressure that there is hardly any room for Survivors to mess around. Nobody cleanses Totems to prevent NOED cause it takes too long (and cause there is Circle of Healing users). Hardly anybody searches Chests.

The vast majority of Survivors are just focused on slamming Gens cause if they don't gen rush - gens will be destroyed to the ground by Pain Resonances, Pops, Ruin, Jolts, and each time explosion happens, Dead Man Switch can kick in, and there is also Deadlock.

Prove Thyself got increased in popularity significantly to counter those killer perks. Gotta finish those gens one by one really fast to prevent significant regressions.

Gen slow down perks are aimed to combat obscene gen speeds, but by implementing such perks devs also make Survivors even more keen on repairing Gens. You can only counter massive gen regressions by gen rushing even harder.

Do you think that Killer meta perks further reinforce gen rushing?

Its the opposite,it's genrushing that further reinforce slowdown/killer meta perks in general.

For the past couple of matches, I've only been playing with BBQ and have still been able to 2-4k every game, and it's made me realize something: Billy does not need perks at all, just like Hag. They both have really good basekits, and while it's nice to run some slowdown on them, all you really need is an info perk or two to win with them. This is imo the main advantage Billy has over all other killers, Nurse and Blight need perks/add-ons to instadown, but Billy just does that basekit, Spirit/Nurse need to bring special add-ons to get good mobility, but Billy just does that basekit, the only problem with utilizing both these abilities is overheat, but if you bring the Air filter and Muffler add-ons then you can play him like it's 2016.

Being punished for using your own power is not "a good basekit",i must say.

Camp and tunnel more. Use the most overpowered perks and addons. Face camp every survior who uses dead hard, decisive strike, unbreakable or any perk that annoys you. Use Blight, nurse, spirit, artist, endgame trapper, impossible skill check doctor, legion with 4 slowdowns and long duration frenzy.

Play how YOU want to play, you paid for the game, you are the killer and not the babysitter. You're mission is to give survivors to the entity and forget that stupid fake rulebook survivors try to bash into your head. 12 hooking doesn't belong in this game when survivors want to be split on gens, hide with spine chill and iron will, wear the darkest cosmetics and exploits.

How many bully squads have you faced? They want to see you suffer to laugh and say ez. Bring lightborn against the flashlight squad. 99% everyone's stalk as ghostface and slug near your first hook.

Survivors wanna bring brand new parts, septic agents and sabo boxes? Bring the forbidden addons of your killer. Pinkie finger with extra bottles, bloody coil with iri stone or honing stone, 3 blink nurse, any addon above brown for blight, permanent teir 3 myers.

Survivors if you think about saying how toxic this post is and how I'm horrible for encouraging this behavior. I don't care. This post was meant for killers and if you are a killer who still doesn't agree that you can play however you want in this game I don't consider you a killer, I consider you a brainwashed subject of survivors. Forget survivor fun, focus on your fun. SLUG FOR THE 4K, slug at 5 gens and camp them with insidious behind a corner with nurses calling and sloppy butcher.

You paid for the game right? You own the game because it was a gift? You HAVE OBTAINED A COPY IN SOEM FORM. Play for your fun, punish survivors for thinking they can bully you. Don't wanna go to the map they wanna send you too? Exit during loading screen and find a new lobby. You get called horrible things during endgame? Tell them you don't care about their opinion, you're the killer your job is to kill.

The devs want more killers in the game but why haven't they looked at the most USED AND POWERFUL PERKS that are in the survivor meta? Guess they don't want more killers. This is a game play how you want to but I'm encouraging that you don't follow survivor rulebooks. They don't care about you or your fun so make your own fun.

That's not true. The Third Seal, NOED, Retribution, Haunted Grounds... all of them are powerful given the right circumstances.

Third seal ? You serious ?

Yes, I care about completing my objective, I don't like when a RNG pity mechanic for losing robs me of my objective

Yep,DBD is the only game where going for 100% of The objective is seen as bad and "boring"

The Hatch was a mechanic intending for the survivor to be able to have an alternate means of escape, something that can rob that is unfair.

Yes,even if all of the other 3 survivors fail and die at the end,the last guy should just get a free escape because yes lol,if your entire team already got killed, them you don't really need, neither deserve that hatch.

Another "let's make my side even easier than it already is" thread.

Hexes are powerful, and their trade off is, they can be broken.

    There's nothing to fix.

Doesn't mean they should spawn right at the survivor's face, also not every hex is "powerful" only 3 of 10+ are good

And maybe pentimento but that's it

The term "gen rushing" is the funniest thing ever to me. Like sorry were we not supposed to do our objective as fast as possible?

It is always a problem of the killer just not pressuring enough. If it takes you forever to down people then of course survivors are going to sit on gens, what else are they going to do? Sit around and twiddle their thumbs? Sorry killer, we should have just sat around and waited for you to down us or pressure our gens.

Every time a killer accuses me of "gen rushing" I just say they were "hook rushing". Sorry killers you can't hook rush us anymore. So dumb.

Biased as #########,if doing the survivors objective takes no skill (holding m1 for 80 secs) then its fair to say killing should also take no skill (camping/tunneling).

Srsly what was wrong with the previous version?

I cannot hit skill checks and cannot properly look around in chase cuz those moving gaps of the blue visual are really distracting.

Idk if that is a bug or a intended change but PLS revert that or change it OR give us an option in the graphiics I dont care but just do something. For now I am forced to DC or kill myself since I literally cannot play like this.

You mean ADHD ? funny,i also have it

Sure, DMS, pop and painres require downs, ruin can be cleansed, but relative to other perks theyre overtuned. There are very few builds that can get similar results as 4 slowdowns.

Id level the playing field with buffs to other perks like they did with blood favour, but nerfing the peak would also be a solution.

Relative to others they are strong, its not that these are opressive, its just that the others are too weak

I completely disagree with that sentiment. In fact, I think its what makes legion a bit more interesting than others as a surv, you dont just hold M1 at a gen, you need to mend then consider undetectable, then go back to the gen, NOW track if he got the 4th hit, depending on your situation you might not want to insantly mend, ...

    I like it.

Take it with a grain of salt, i primarily play killer so im always looking for tension instead of chill. I agree with one thing though, slowdown perks shouldnt be as oppressive as they are right now.

I'm sorry but there's no opressive slowdown in the game, all of them are counterable and requires skill and effort to use.

  • @_AdamFrancis_ said:

    Seriously. How was this allowed.

When you combine Dad Boots with Spiked Boots, it creates a really uncounterable combo. There is nothing you can do again this because if you end up avoiding his chainsaw, guess what?

He can instantly turn around and down you. There is no way to strafe or anything to avoid his chainsaw with this combo.

And before you say to hold W, on most open maps that won't matter because he can catch up in seconds.

Even on indoor maps, with this combo you have so much control over your chainsaw it's unfair.

And I understand that it's one of the only things Billy has going for him, but that doesn't mean it should be allowed.

Another Billy nerf ? Again ? Don't do this to my boy, please i beg you :/

  • They are doing this to get us distracted from the balance issues in the game imho, but good that the LGBTQ + community got a good representation into our game.

Sure, I do the same with your post, summarizing how out of point forums users can be.

Who the ######### complains about adrenaline vial lmao

  • @rangerdanger0 said:

So when are we going to nerf/balance these perks? With them both combined, the killer gets a 40% regression on gens. We get all our perks nerfed but we can't get a balance on some killer perks? All killers run these days are those two perks together, talk about meta perks.

8 upvotes is actually kinda pathetic, the worse and scarier part is you getting them
