  • And the more perks you have unlocked, the more bloodpoints you need to get all perks on each new character (I think it's something like 6-7 million bloodpoints to get all perks on a killer)....Yeah, it's beyond ridiculous, and it gets more and more absurd every three months.

  • lmao I noticed this today, but didn't realize it was a bug

At first i thought he was weak. Then i learned how to use his chains and unlocked perks to keep the chain hunt active. Now i like him.

Just curious: which perks do you mean ("to keep the chain hunt active")? Do you mean like Plunderer's/Franklin's, or others?

Edit: lol, I meant Hoarder, of course, not Plunderer's...

  • The boob is a lie.

I mean, the answer is that she doesn't really have boobs that are accurately rendered under her clothing. Yes, technically from this very particular angle it looks like part of her body is missing, but no one would ever see this in a match (and you'd only see it in the loading screen by looking hard for it). It is a kind of "glitch" or oversight, but it really doesn't matter. Clipping cosmetics are far more of a problem.

What's the current range now? Would 24m be too short? I'm all for reducing the range but I feel we should be careful on making the range too short. This is one of those killers whose power function is good but numbers are way off so I feel fine tuning is what we need to do on some values.

If it's already something like 40m or something then yeah I'm all for 24m I would just like to see the old and suggested values compared admittedly.

By default, all survivors can see the box aura across the entire map (there is no range -- it's visible mapwide). The only way to change this is to use the Iridescent Lament Configuration add-on, which makes it so "While a Chain Hunt is inactive, Survivors beyond 16 meters of the Lament Configuration cannot see its Aura."

how do you have 3 devotions and no red rank?

I’m almost exactly the same as OP — 3 devotions, but normally around purple as a killer. For myself, I’m always playing to have fun, get blood points, and play around with different perks. I absolutely HATE going against 4 strong survivors who are great at looping and who will wreck me if I’m not playing super optimally. It’s no fun at all. So why would I be trying hard to get higher and higher ranks? SBMM will be absolutely fantastic for me.

  • Putting aside some other points (Sluzzy being a multi-thousand hour player at red ranks for both killer and survivor, etc.), this is posted the day before SBMM is implemented.

I mean, the whole point of SBMM is to make matches more balanced so survivors and killers alike feel that they have a decent chance when they enter a match. If you want to play more chill and less sweaty, just play like that and SBMM will give you less difficult matches over time.

  • I enjoyed reading this. It reminded me that I want to play more Hag. I wish you could share video -- not so much to prove anything, but to show your Hag playstyle.

  • Would buffed Wraith be considered a bit more fair if his base cloaked movement speed was pushed down just a little to 140% or 135%?

  • Wraith is clearly MUCH stronger than he was before. What change would people want? Would people consider him more fair if his base cloaked movement speed was pushed down to 140%? Or 135%?

  • Just curious: why don't you like playing against Oni or Blight?

  • I'm genuinely curious: before his buff, did people think of Wraith as OP when he brought certain add-ons?

  • If the coding is as bad as many have said (for instance, the game loads info for all killers no matter which killer is being played, etc.), then how could performance NOT get worse with each new Chapter? How will the game run at all on PS4/Xbox One by the end of 2021 (let alone beyond that...)?

  • The censoring is absolutely ridiculous. I've never said anything even remotely offensive or mean-spirited, and yet half of the words I type in the chat are censored. It might be a character's name, it might be a word like "good" or "truly"--it doesn't matter, "####" is what shows up.

Weird to announce it so far ahead of time.

I think part of the reason is to make sure everyone's clear that there will NOT be a new patch before the event finishes.

  • Using the Alarm Clock will give Survivors immunity from micro-sleep for 30 seconds. [i.e. extra 30 seconds before falling asleep, and...]

This includes being pulled into the Dream World by successful Basic Attacks.

  • No new patch. They said on social media that the next patch will be the mid-Chapter patch (in about three weeks). Who knows if they will actually fix the console issues in that patch…

  • If I recall correctly from previous rifts, the next rift should open about two weeks after the current one ends.

  • Survivor:

*KINDRED is just so freaking useful as a solo queue player. It gives lots of info to you and your team. I feel kinda sad about how much info I lose when I don't bring it.

*DETECTIVE'S HUNCH is lots of fun, especially with a map.

*WE'LL MAKE IT because I love giving teammates a quicker-than-expected heal.

*OPEN-HANDED is very fun to pair with Kindred, Defective's Hunch, Bond, and/or Visionary, especially now that it's been buffed.

    Killer:

*SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST because it's so satisfying to build up stacks and get value from it.

*TINKERER because I enjoy sneaking up on survivors.

There is no shovels that killers can use so theres that too.

The Twins' store cosmetics beg to differ...

  • In October 2020, I was lucky to get the base game and 1 DLC (Chains of Hate) for free from a gaming website giveaway. I wasn't too sure about it at first, as I usually don't play online multiplayer games. But I quickly got into the game, and I have now put several hundred hours into it.

  • Well, I just got it as a solo queue survivor...so I guess it's back? Someone used the offering.

Edit: the patch notes say that it will only be enabled for Custom Matches, and that the RPD offerings can't be used. Maybe it was some kind of glitch just before the patch rolls out.

  • Take a look at this site for some ideas: https://dennisreep.nl/dbd/perks/killer/

On that site, users can rate all killer perks (you can also click on a particular killer's name to see the highest-rated perks to use on that killer). Obviously, there are going to be differences of opinion, but I find that site very helpful to get some ideas about better vs worse perks. And, of course, even some "bad" perks can be lots of fun or can work well with other perks in particular builds.

  • What is your YouTube account? I know you don't have this match on there, but I'm definitely interested in seeing your gameplay.

  • Search DBD Claire on YouTube, view some gameplay footage, and see what you think. She looks good in-game to me, but maybe not everyone would agree.

  • The first patch will probably be out by the middle of next week (based on their patch history). For instance, with the Twins chapter, they did a patch a week after the chapter was released, and then another patch a week after that.

  • I love Open-Handed with Bond and Kindred (and Detective's Hunch with Map). Hope you get some of the aura perks soon!

  • If the PTB is all they do for playtesting, then that in itself is a huge problem. Even if everything worked perfectly for most PC players, what about performance on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Stadia? Those platforms represent a huge proportion of their player base, yet there is every indication that they flat-out can't handle the RE Chapter content. Did they really not know that was going to be a problem??

  • I honestly wonder if they ever do a single test on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, or Stadia. Do they know in advance that these problems are coming, or do they just wing it and hope that the less-powerful systems will squeak by somehow? And given that each new update makes the game code more and more convoluted and sluggish, what in the world is their long-term plan for these systems?? Are they going to have to stop doing updates for the less-powerful systems and turn off cross-play (while PC and newer consoles continue to get new content)? It's honestly unconscionable to keep releasing content that they know (or should know) won't run properly for a huge percentage of their playerbase.

  • Bubba want go fast! Seriously, these bugs on killers/perks that aren't even being updated (Bubba, Clown, etc.) are just out of hand.

  • Honestly, the way this company is treating its Xbox One/PS4/Switch customers makes me sick. There are plenty of bugs even on the more playable platforms, but it is unacceptable to keep extracting money from people when they can't even make the game playable/enjoyable on these less-powerful platforms.

  • i noticed this issue as well. Definitely annoying.

  • The (older) DLCs are on sale on Steam now.

  • Well, Mindbreaker is definitely good at countering Sprint Burst (as long as they don't have Spine Chill and know you're coming). Mindbreaker is one of those perks where you don't really know how much it's helping you (since you may not know who is using an exhaustion perk).

Regarding Myers, I definitely consider him stealth (or at least semi-stealth). Obviously, he's stealthy in Tier I, but he's also quite stealthy in Tier II, especially if you have Monitor & Abuse on him (once they hear the terror radius, you're basically right next to them).

  • @glitchboi said:

Wait, they reduced the grind? Could you fill me in on this? I must've missed something...

The RIFT grind. Not the perk/bloodweb grind, unfortunately...

  • It's pretty much universally agreed that the Rifts require WAY too much grinding to get to the highest tiers. BHVR will be reducing the grind somewhat for the next Rift because it's become so obvious that the grind is just too much.

I've purchased Rifts V and VI (I only started playing in October 2020), and while they were definitely worth it to me, I didn't get to Level 70 either time even with LOTS of playtime. I can definitely understand why many people are frustrated by the Rifts.

  • Well her lullaby radius is quite large, so with this you wouldn't know if she was close to you. Not great, but more than nothing.

  • When you get to 5 tokens, each skillcheck advances the healing progress bar by 50%. Which is cool, but it takes a lot of healing before you get to 5 stacks, so We’ll Make It or Botany Knowledge are usually more consistent and useful. It is fun when you get lots of stacks on Autodidact, though.

  • @shauny said:

In fact pretty sure you can't do this with any killer, just tried it with Wraith.

No, you can definitely do it with most (all?) killers, including Wraith (I know because I did so yesterday to look at his head cosmetic while in the lobby). But it has never been consistent for me--sometimes I can rotate the killer, sometimes I can't. No idea if it's always been bugged.

  • Survivor: rank 4. I was shocked when I got to red ranks. I’m really not good at looping, and I don’t use any of the main meta survivor perks. I just kept pipping up slowly by trying to do a little of everything. I usually bring perks like bond and kindred to keep track of the team, we’ll make it to help with heals, lithe to extend chases, and often small game to get rid of hex totems (I love when I can do that).

Killer: rank 10. I’ve improved a lot at killer, but I definitely still struggle against survivors who are good at looping. I prefer being able to play around with the killer powers (I play a wide range of killers) rather than worry about playing optimally.

  • What do you mean "glitched to no end"? I haven't heard about the glitches. (I've never played her, but I was thinking about getting her at some point.)

  • @TheMadCat said:

Is it allowed to show his lore on the forum? If yes, can someone post a screenshot? I wanna read his story but I can't DL the PTB for now.

There is a thread by GoodBoyKaru with all of the details (including lore): https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/231565/the-trickster-lore-power-perks-add-ons-mori/p1

  • That is quite interesting! I also noticed some weird things with the timer (no idea if these mean anything): it doesn't seem to be measuring seconds (they are longer than seconds, I'm pretty sure). Also, the "centiseconds" (hundredths of a second) go up to 24 (not 99) before resetting to 00.

As far as a rewind-based power, they could definitely do something with rewinding generator/healing progress. Rewinding survivor movement or something crazy like that? Doubtful.

When I was a baby killer, I had seen killers do it to me and I thought it actually did something... I felt so bad when I realized it didn't lol.

I came here to say the exact same thing! At first, I thought it must do something -- accelerate the sacrifice slightly or give bloodpoints or something.

Deer stalker is great for slug builds.

This is not happening is trash.

Premonition is not terrible, but why would one equip that when spine chill exists?

I would just mention that Premonition differs from Spine Chill in that it does tell you which direction the killer is in, so it can be useful at times. However, it also frequently goes off (and starts another cooldown) when you already know where the killer is. I'm sure it's not really a helpful perk for high-level players, but mediocre survivors (like me) can get some fun and value out of it.

  • I think there would've been a problem with the planned update anyhow. Wasn't it going to give a 16m boost to the whole team's aura-reading (not stackable)? Then what would happen if more than one person equipped Open-Handed? Some of the perk slots would be wasted.
