Maybe 7-8 million bloodpoints to get from level 0 to having all perks at tier 3? (Plus 6 million more for P3.) Sounds fun.

An interesting read, with some unexpected choices!

I think I found the issue. When I accessed the code from the Prime Gaming Loot crown icon on the top right of a Twitch channel it seemed to show me the code for the Blight skin from last month.
I'd recommend going directly to the DBD loot page here: https://gaming.amazon.com/loot/deadbydaylight
And clicking the Claim button above the Dwight skin picture. Once I did that it worked as expected.
This is what I came here to say. You were probably actually using the code from last month. Make sure to click "Claim Now" for Dwight to get the right code.
-
It totally depends on your preferences. Just keep this in mind for context: if you have all killer perks unlocked, it would take something like 5.5 - 7 million bloodpoints to get a killer from level 0 to having all perks fully tiered up. (And many millions more if you want to prestige.)

It's weird cause I feel like it's been the opposite in my experience. As the killer, I have a lot more say in getting the envelopes (since I don't have to worry about some bigger killer being behind me trying to murder me). If I and a survivor are going to the same envelope, I can choose to let them grab it or I can choose to smack them and tell them NO, BAD SURVIVOR!
I suppose if they're in a SWF that's the only time it would really be an issue but even then, I guess I'm happy enough with all the extra BP I get from my own envelopes and all the BP from the Lunar Hooks.
"...Some bigger killer being behind me trying to murder me." Now THAT would be an interesting new game mode.
-
Cannibal is very strong. Also, the extra bloodpoints from BBQ are quite helpful given that the grind is so ridiculous (especially if you have a lot of characters/perks unlocked). I honestly have a hard time playing killer without BBQ because I hate leaving all of those extra bloodpoints behind...
-
I agree with you that Aftercare can be very strong (and very fun). Perhaps the best thing about it is that they can see your aura as well, which creates some excellent opportunities for teamwork.
Bond is also very good (I especially love using Bond with Open-Handed, even though that takes up two perk slots for one effect).
-
One additional point: they said there's a soft cap for MMR, so there are obviously many players with ratings way above the soft cap. Those players are definitely playing matches at the highest possible MMR, are they not? I agree that no one should be making claims about their own MMR (since it's hidden), but I'm saying that technically there is a highest possible MMR (for matchmaking purposes).
-
Yep, it sounds like you played with the real Sluzzy (plays on steam, profile pic, etc.)! Congrats!
-
The Shrine of Secrets is really outdated given the number of teachable perks in the game. You might occasionally get a perk you want, but you absolutely should not get in the habit of waiting for a specific perk because it could be months (or easily over a year) before it shows up there. On the DBD wiki, you can see the archive of past Shrines, and you can quickly see how long might take for a given perk to show up...

You may be right but its still just too good for purple add on.
It could be just faster token recovery and still be very good add on. Instant replenishing all tokens is too much even if its not easy to hit rush
Yes, yes, this. It could give very fast token regeneration after a hit (maybe even as fast as 0.5 seconds per token). That would still be crazy good for Blight, but quite a bit fairer.
I mean, currently the only add-ons that impact token recharge speed give you a meh increase to recharge speed with a big downside. Then you have Alchemist’s Ring…
-
You included the hyphens and everything? Sorry to hear people are having that issue. Thankfully, mine have worked both months so far.
-
I wish the description was clearer. What does it mean by “near”? Also, does it apply even while the survivor is repelling crows (I.e. if they run near another survivor while repelling)?
-
My god, this will be quite a project if you track all of those metrics (and more)...
-
I'm gonna give her some playtime again. I really do like SPEEEED in killer powers. Honestly, I avoided playing her for a while since she was so widely hated. Now, I hardly see her...
-
Agreed. This provides much more motivation to work on pipping up.

Would it still be viable if the Rush Hits drastically increased Rush Token recovery time without being instant?
Same idea, but potentially less opressive?
Yes, this is my thought as well. It would still be very strong for Blight, but would also give survivors a couple more seconds to prepare for the next rush.
-
Is it the challenge that also includes kicking generators? If so, Wraith with Shadow Dance is ideal. You can zoom around, scare people off gens, and quickly kick them (in addition to the pallets and walls).
-
Can’t help you. I gave up trying to get good at Billy. I finally accepted that it’s not worth it for me personally—I have a much better experience with almost any other killer.

What should happen is that you'll have three chains spawn after you, and after the third you have a small pause. Beginning to solve the Box during this pause basically prevents any more from spawning, while trying to solve during the middle of one of the groups of 3 guarantees you'll be chained and interrupted.
This has always been my experience. If I wait for the pause after the three chains spawn, I have no problems. I think they didn't do a good enough job of explaining that these chains always spawn in threes, and no NEW trio of chains will spawn when you begin solving.

I swear a lot of survivors forget bloodwarden does this. I see people hiding in blocked exit areas all the time.
To be fair, there are roughly 40 billion perks in the game now…
In seriousness, it’s one reason I feel bad for new players (trying to learn all of the killer powers, perks, status effects, etc.).
-
I’m very impressed by people who can play Billy well. I’ve given up trying. For me, he’s just absolutely miserable to play as.

If this is the case then i made a survivors game a hell for no reason lol.
Kept shocking them over and over.
It would surprise me cause i don't think i used his large blast often enough to hit 20 times but it's not impossible. That game went on for a long time
Lol. I did the exact same thing…and then realized that Shock Therapy didn’t even count. I definitely hit them with Shock Therapy waaaay more than 20 times.
-
This is INCORRECT. It does NOT count Shock Therapy. It only counts the Static Blast (the one that builds up and then shocks everyone in a large radius around you; default button is CTRL on PC).
It’s very hard to complete. As others said, you basically need certain addons, offerings, and perks to have a chance.
-
Whoa. I had no idea you could see it even without BBQ! (I've always had BBQ on due to the maddening bloodpoint grind.)
-
Just to make sure people are clear: it DOESN'T matter which survivor or killer you're using. For example, you could play all of your matches as Meg and still unlock all of the special cosmetics/charms (I think there are 10 total).

I don't know why I can't get a straight answer here. lmao. like, is it really that complex?
As soon as I got to iri 2, I have lost every single match i've played. I mean I have not killed ANYONE and I haven't gotten more than a single hook, IF THAT, in any game i've played now.
You think that's fair or encouraging? Not at all. I'm so frustrated that I almost don't want to play anymore. There's got to be a way to make the games more fair. Because if I'm expected to lose every single match from this point forward until reset, then the imbalance is enough to get me to quit playing.
Rank reset should NOT impact your MMR score (i.e. it shouldn't have any impact on your matchmaking). They are two separate systems. Let's imagine you have an MMR score of 1700 (no one knows their actual score, but I'm just giving an example). After rank reset, your MMR is supposed to stay at 1700 even though your monthly grade went back to the start. If you totally lose 5 games in a row, maybe your score goes down somewhat -- to 1600 or something -- but it could still be fairly high. Maybe you'd need 5 or more additional total losses to get to a place that is better/more balanced for you. Maybe the time of day or region you're playing in are also a factor in the kinds of matches you're getting.
I don't know. Honestly, I've personally had a pretty good experience with MMR. I don't feel like I've ever had 5 crushing defeats in a row or 5 insanely dominant victories in a row. Maybe I'm just at a good MMR score for my playstyle? Also, I keep seeing claims that MMR is "turned off" at certain times/days, but all of the matchmaking is happening behind the scenes -- we just don't know what our MMR scores are or if the MMR system is being adjusted or anything else about it. . .
-
Same issue. Thanks for making the post.

I'm in the updated game right now. In the add-on description, it says that Torture Pillar is 6 seconds.

Yes.
We'll Make It has an internal cap of 100%. You cannot unhook 2 survivors within 90 seconds and get 200% speed, it just resets the timer.
Circle of Healing has an internal cap of 100%. Being inside 2 different COH totems doesn't give you 200% heal speed.
However, there is no hard cap, nor are there any diminishing returns, meaning healing speed can be increased to as fast as 289% (100% WMI, 100% COH, 33% Botany Knowledge, 56% for 4 stacks of Desperate Measures- 14*4).
This would theoretically let you heal someone else in 5.536 seconds (16/2.89, rounded to 3DP).
Given that you put some time into this, I'm sorry to tell you that all of your math is wrong...The normal healing speed is 1 unit per second (100% healing speed). A normal heal is 16 units, so it takes 16 seconds. With We'll Make It, you get 100% ADDITIONAL healing speed, so you heal at 200% or 2 units per second. And so on.
Basically, with all of your math, you need to add an additional 100% to account for the base 100% healing speed.
For instance, WMI + COH + BK + 4 Stacks of DM would be 289% ADDED healing speed, making for 389% healing speed total (or 3.89 units per second). 16 / 3.89 = 4.113 seconds.

Does anyone have any idea how this chat filter "works"? How does it decide which words to filter? I'm genuinely curious how it was programmed to get such ridiculous results.
-
For the people who are having a horrible time playing killer right now: does it simply mean that you don't enjoy playing at a (presumably) high MMR? The new system is simple enough that you can easily lower your MMR (yes, it will take time if you have a very high MMR, but still...), so why do you want to keep playing at a high MMR? It seems like self-torture for no reason. I guarantee you could get your MMR down to a point where you have much more fun matches, while still keeping it interesting.

Wait they're going to reveal the new killer tomorrow?
That's pretty fast I was at least expecting it near the end of this month.
Expect the PTB to be available on PC tomorrow, with the chapter release three weeks later (Nov. 30th). I think that having a survivor as part of the mid-chapter made the time go by quickly.

Got 0 desired perks on 50 lvl killer, so i need to reset it and try again. System is f-d up
You absolutely never "need to" prestige any character. Only do it if you truly, deeply want the bloodied cosmetics.
-
I think Dark Devotion is helpful for that challenge. When you use a basic attack on the obsession, you get 30 seconds of undetectable. You can hit the obsession again or hit someone else during that time. (Just make sure not to kill the obsession too soon.)
-
I love using Open-Handed to enhance aura-reading perks like Bond and Kindred (it also works with Detective's Hunch, Windows of Opportunity, Visionary, and some others).
-
I'd love to see accurate stats from your last, say, 20-30 survivor matches. How many times did you actually face each killer (no exaggerations)? How many times did you die and how many times did you escape?
If your MMR score is too high (maybe it started out too high when they switched to the new system), it WILL go down if you keep dying as you claim you are. Eventually, I promise you, if you keep dying you will get to an MMR level where you won't see Blight very often at all. If you really wanted to, you could easily get yourself to a lower MMR and have less sweaty games. But is that what you actually want?
-
Glad you made this post! I actually only had the Feng Min one, so I'll be putting in a ticket for the others. I too have always wanted the Wolf mask, but I assumed it was not possible. This is a nice surprise.

Here's what you need to understand:
*You have a starting SBMM score (based on how well you played before the new system went into effect) that is used to determine who you are matched against.
*After each match, your SBMM score can go slightly up or down. Obviously, we don't know EXACTLY how it works, but for purpose of illustration, let's imagine that after each match you can gain up to 10 SBMM points or lose up to 10 SBMM points.
*The points gained or lost after each match are NOT determined solely by whether you escape or die. It's a sliding scale between +10 points and -10 points. That means it's perfectly possible to end up with a match that doesn't change your SBMM score at all (i.e. net +0 points), or a match that slightly increases or decreases your SBMM score (such as +2 points or -2 points). I also think it's extremely likely that having a very good match but dying at the end will actually INCREASE your SBMM score (similar to how you can get + pips even when you die). Maybe you'd end up with +3 or +5 SBMM points per game (not the maximum +10), but your SBMM score could still be going UP even though you die alot.
*If you wanted to go out of your way to lower your SBMM score quickly and keep it lower, you'd need to have REALLY BAD matches many, many times in a row (I'm thinking like a dozen or two dozen games where you die quickly, get a very low number of bloodpoints, and get less than a safety pip). Then, once you start having good games again, your SBMM score will start going back up. So, you'd need to watch out that you don't have too many very good games in a row (otherwise, your SBMM score might start getting close to where it was originally).
-
I know that pips are technically separate from SBMM, but I think it's a good frame of reference for how badly you'd have to do to lose very much of your SBMM score after each match.
-
To really notice a difference in the skill of your opponents, I think you'd need to do truly BADLY (like de-piping consistently) for many, many matches in a row. You have to keep in mind that your SBMM score can only go down (or up) a little bit after each match. If you have some bad matches followed by some good matches, your score might end up almost exactly where it started.
While I know that the SBMM system is not exactly the same as the old system, I think it's helpful to recall what it would take in the old system to go from, say, Rank 3 to Rank 6. You'd need to do TERRIBLY for a whole lot of games in a row in order to drop ranks.

And a last thing, is it faster to unlock next tiers when you have the premium pass ? I really don't think so, but I wanna be sure!
Cause if it goes at the same "speed", like you need to do the same things, regardless of if have the premium or not, don't you believe it'd be a better idea - for players like me, who never know if they are gonna be able to play a lot during a season - to play as much as they can, and buy the pass at the end of the season, if they don't waste auric cells (i mean those that are still locked at the end of the season) or don't mind wasting a few of them ?
You do NOT unlock the tiers any faster with the pass.
Keep in mind that the current Rift closes in roughly 2 weeks. You'd need to buy it before it closes (if you want to). Then the next Rift (with new cosmetics) will come out roughly 2 weeks after that (based on past experience).
-
Wasn't it always like that?
(I'm assuming someone was hacking -- entered as a survivor but "became" a killer. I saw someone post something similar on Reddit.)
-
I think it would be reasonable for this add-on to give a slight downside (similar to Pig's aura-reading ultra-rare add-on). For instance, it could reduce your cloaked speed somewhat. Then, people could choose to use one of the windstorm add-ons with it if they wanted more cloaked speed.
-
But it's only in the lobby, right? When you're in the game, they don't have the skins, right? It's a hilarious new bug that makes it so each survivor in the lobby shows whatever cosmetics YOU have set up on that same survivor.
