So you didn’t read my comment. I have No Mither, so unless I’m matched with boosted teammates, they won’t come heal me unless the Killer is far away, which will probably be enough time for me to pick myself up.
Of course this strategy would work best in a 4 man SWF but that’s just tacky.
Realistically, out of my 3.3k hours with at least 50% of those being survivor, I can tell you that if I get slugged, no matter the ranks whether it be brown, yellow, green, purple or red, at LEAST one of my team mates gets off the generator they are on to come try and save you, usually more than one; and if the killer is near, they usually don't even go back to the gen they were on. They sneak around waiting for a window to make the heal.
That is map pressure. It's half created by survivors.

Time to pull out the old "Buff Legion" stick
I mean, Legion is there too, but at least certain builds can be insane on Legion.

You're defending it so you like to camp. And you said it's only a winning strategy if the survivors are rushing the hook.
I'm entitled to my opinion about camping
I mean, if you're going to put words in my mouth, sure. It just makes your argument look weaker than it already was (which I didn't think was possible).
I don't have to camp to know why it's a viable strategy. You're entitled to your opinion, yes. You're also just entitled.

Well it’s boring for the Survivor. I guess I meant “dumb” as in it’s annoying. It’s actually kinda smart for the Killer except for the fact there’s always the chance their teammates come heal them or they pick themselves up and that means you just wasted chasing the guy for 2 gens and are back to square one. And you’re slugging for the chance that the guy actually has DS. You’re gambling in a game that cannot afford you losing that gamble.
I agree it can be annoying - but you can't really make a valid argument for why it's done, or why it shouldn't be done. It being boring for the survivor isn't a good argument, because there's nothing else in place to counter certain things.

How would it be helping you? I’m gonna loop you too not just sit there and die. Also any smart survivor knows No Mither let’s you pick yourself up and won’t go help a No Mither if they see you’re being slugged (unless they’re in super close proximity). They also know any survivor not moving towards then while crawling wants to pick themselves up.
It's called map pressure. Eliminating one person from the gen fixing equation is inherently going to eliminate someone else from it as well, to come heal you.

Or I want to systematically have fun and punish you for playing in the dumbest way humanly possible. I don’t Tea bag, I don’t taunt, I don’t send unintelligent angry messages that are incoherent after the game. I play for fun as all games should be played
I fail to see why slugging is "dumb" when it's the only possible counter to a perk you have at your disposal. A counter that you have yet, another perk to counter.

That’s fine. You’ll just do it until the Exit Gates are open. I don’t play to win, I play to screw with the Killer and it seems like you’re okay with getting a 1k and a depip at reward of killing me.
Although this is going off of IF you hypothetically knew I had both DS and No Mither in an hypothetical game, as you would never do this in an actual game.
Remember when I talked about toxic being an attitude and state of mind and not the use of perks and addons?
This guy is a perfect example.

Dude I'm not blaming anyone I said if you want to camp then do it. But in my eyes it's just a bum move.
You were the one literally talking about "wanting to earn your kills" and "camping is looking for an easy win". I merely stated that if an easy win happened, or killers had kills handed to them by camping, it was the survivors who ALLOWED it to happen. Don't call killers bums for using a viable strategy. Call survivors bums for being careless enough to make it viable.
-
Imagine calling Oni impossible to loop in any loop ever. Oof.

@I_am_Negan said:

Thanks for the education lesson.
I rather earn my kills then them being handed to me
Again, if a group of survivors all die to a camper, they pretty much have to throw the game. Survivors cause camping by falling for it. 100% of the time. If it didn't work so god damn always because survivors are so damn naive and careless most of the time, killers would do it less.
Camping works because survivors ALLOW it to work. Blame survivors, not killers.

You can already check profiles and dodge, making the info available in game would only make you dodge faster if you feel like dodging, what I mean is that I think nothing will really change; killers who dodge will still dodge.
This exactly. The devs have actively stated they want to put an end to lobby dodging.

you cant check profiles and see if they're a SWF on console :(
Like I said, the solution is to balance around it.

I've always liked the idea that your Devotion level raises your BP Cap by 50K for every level.
It would reward people who play a lot by allowing them to save more BP that they can then spend on new DLCs to make it easier to play with the new perks etc.
The BP cap shouldn't exist anymore anyway. Stats are server side now, it serves no purpose other than to artificially manufacture replay-ability with minimal effort. I'M ON TO YOU BHVR!

@underlord99 said:
Why not allow killers to see who is part of a SWF? it would help them prepare for it and would prevent less lobby dodging of four randoms that join at the same time.
That would put lobby dodging at an all time high. Not sure what you're talking about. Killers already check profiles and dodge SWF's as it is. This idea has been brought up before, and has been shot down every time for that reason.
The only way to "solve" SWF is to actually bring solo players up to that level and balance around it.

Whatever you say man. You're the one just standing there doing nothing looking for an easy win
If camping wins a killer the game, it's the survivors fault. The counter is to do the gens and leave, which is EASILY done in the time a survivor is on the hook.
If a killer somehow gets an easy win from camping a hooked survivor, it literally takes the survivors throwing the game.

Pretty rude phrasing btw if you wanted to be constructive.
It's not off topic. Perhaps you should actually learn what off topic actually means.
In a game where there's so much wrong with so many other things...you want to change one a handful of perks that is absolutely perfect how it is. I'll keep saying it, and hammering it into your brain until you get it. Don't touch my Whispers.

since a bunch of killer mains have been recently complaining about DS, yet i still see lots of NOED in high rank, you have no grounds on which to complain. you can’t be for one thing and against another, especially on perks that are similar in nature.
some killer, a wraith, who shall remain nameless, got upset when i had and effectively utilized DS, yet ran NOED which was blown up immediately EGC, calling me a “crutch perk user.”
first off, survivors have to actively work to disable NOED. the killer does nothing/no criteria has to be met on his/her end. so not only is my time being jeopardized in cleansing, but i also got verbally abused by a killer who denies to think on both sides of the fence
so please, be courteous and think on both sides. yes, DS might be annoying, but realize your NOED isn’t any better in nature.
Imagine comparing DS, a perk that forces you to slug because it's inevitable, to NOED, a perk that can be prevented by survivors completely.

Your best bet with Left Behind is to 99 the last gen while someone's on the hook and let them die, or just wait for the animation to end, and then pop it.
Worth scoping out the exit gates first though, cos if they're close together you just lose.
Might be worth running Wake Up as well, to open the gate faster.

Basically, Wraith can be top tier, but you have to play super super sweaty for it to be possible.

I'm not saying camping is toxic if you want to camp do it.
In my eyes if you camp you're a bum
I mean, in the original DBD killer tutorial videos, they literally demonstrated the Trapper camping the hooked survivor.
That would be like me saying "if you loop, you're a bum" - "if you tea bag, you're a bum" - "if you do your objective, you're a bum"
See how silly that sounds? That's you right now ;)

Those challenges are complete BS. First i am a solo and non flashlight user.
4 gens in one trial. Impossible.
3 sacrifices on the end game. Very hard. Especially for not good killers.
Trap all 4 survivors. You have to be very lucky and good trapper. (Farm time)
2 flash light saves. For me it's super hard. (I'm not using a flashlight)
Sacrifice all 4 survivors in the basement. Devs are you promote toxicity and DC'S?
Unhook 3 survivors SAFELY on the end game. Killer has to go for sleep i suppose. Impossible.
Damage the same gen 4 times. You have to lose the game pretty much for this one.
Τhey have to change those ''challenges''
To be fair, the 4 gens one, you only have to complete them. Not do them completely. Even if you're there for the last 5 seconds of the gen.
As for the rest...
3 sacrifices in the end game is BS, yes.
Trap 4 survivors...just play a Haddonfield offering. Easily done. You can close off most of their good loops with traps that they HAVE to step in in order to disarm them.
Flashlight saves - you don't have to save the person. Just blind the killer while they are carrying someone. Yes it can be done without a save.
Sacrifice all 4 in the basement - Any killer with iron grasp and agitation. Preferably a killer you're good with, and the luck of getting a map where the basement is in the middle of the map.
Unhooking 3 survivors in end game...BS. Unless you have an SWF willing to throw for you, that's horse #########. Not impossible, though. Just...stupid. Also, if you had to do it, use borrowed time.
Damage the same gen 4 times - you don't have to lose, just run pop. Even if you do lose, bro, it's a game. You can't win them all.
-

Wow! I think I'm the only one that leaves the hook and let them get the save😄😆😂🤣
No, you're not. I do that as well. I'm just saying - camping is not toxic, should you decide to do it.
-
The game population is already dwindling, and and lobbies already take forever and people already dodge lobbies. Let's not over complicate it. DBD isn't a competitive game.
-
If you have left behind, you can see the hatch aura. You have a huge advantage to finding it.
As for tome 3, good luck..

Imagine a thread getting made on how to change possibly the best killer perk in the game that isn't broken or needing fixing at all...and people still talking about it. OOF.

Because this random number doesn't have to do anything with the balance of the game. It inculdes people who play for fun, probably people who DCs and who knows what else.. we all know the balance is gone when facing COORDINATED swfs. This number is just a number.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/906944#Comment_906944
I disagree. You can. I personally wouldn't mind not having games so easy when I play with friends. Because it is much more easy than when I play solo. This is not at all about punishing anyone..it's about balance - not being overpowerd over everyone else.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/906952#Comment_906952
I have already answered that. Not much realistic, imo. And if you take (for example) one perk off of each survivor, I don't think that would be the reason swfs would stop playing the game suddenly. They would just be less overpowered.
You can disagree, and you would be 100% and unequivocally incorrect.

No, a bunch of people hating something doesn't make it toxic. Camping is not toxic. It's an intended tactic to play the game, with actual counters. There's even perks to facilitate it. It's a legitimate tactic.
Even if 10,000 people hate it, it's still not toxic.

Wraith literally gets increased movement speed, no terror radius, and near invisibility with his power. How is this weak?
LF gets to instadown survivors with his chainsaw. Not weak at all.
Legion is a God at buying time by forcing survivors to mend and heal. That's two health states they have to heal.
The Plague could use a buff or two yeah.
The pig gets a 0 terror radius, lunge attack, and takes a survivor out of the game for a bit by giving them a reverse bear trap.
I see many people, even in red ranks, step in trapper traps these days. It could take anywhere from 1 try to 7 tries to get out of a trap AND the trap leaves you injured if you do manage to get out.
The demogorgon is kind of weak I agree.
Myers being weak is a joke. I'm not even going to try to explain this one.
The above post is from a person who has never been at red ranks as killer.
We call them the "common entitled survivor".

I get that you think its perfect how it is. no need to mention that twice.
I dont really think theres 8/10 someone near the hook. also I think its a bad idea as survivor to stay close to a freshly hooked.
If you honestly don't see people bum rushing hooks when someone is hooked, you must not play a lot of survivor. It's a thing.
Again (yes for the third time, since you'll rudely call me out on that again), it's fine where it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's like that by design.
-
@T2K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/907218#Comment_907218
How so?
I think you could also say it encourages killers to leave to hook if whispers doesnt proc
There is ALWAYS someone near the hook. 8/10 times. It would be too strong and is perfect how it is.
-
Hatch/keys - That would be the case if every game had someone with a key. Out of 100 games at red ranks, I can count on 2 hands the amount that have a key, and less than 1 hand how many actually manage to use the key. It's fine how it is. Just as the Mori is fine how it is.
Mori's - See previous. Basically, stop trying to nerf everything into the ground. Overly balanced is boring.
Extra objectives - yes.
Rework endgame - Endgame is perfectly fair as it is. Each party has an equal chance to find hatch, whoever finds it first depending on map RNG, is likely the winner. Don't need to over-complicate it.
-
@Figas said:
If whispers didnt pick up the hooked survivor it would be way too strong of a tool for camping.
This precisely. Even as a killer main i know this. Killers have a first person perspective for a reason.
-
Slow vaults have been in for a while. Even more, you just need to get better at looping.
-
There is no scenario where an avoid button is a good idea in Dead by Daylight. Lobbies are in bad enough shape without allowing people to avoid anyone who they don't want to play with for any reason.
It would not fix anything. It would make things worse.
None of this is even touching on the fact that, and I think most here will agree, the DBD community at large isn't mature enough to use something like this responsibly.
