I prefer a bit of everything. Sure stomping every game is boring. But sweating every match isn't any more fun. But both can be enjoyable every once in a while. Just not every game.
I think that's my problem is I enjoy sweating when I play, I want an intense back and forth battle win or lose, something that really has me working for the W, those are the best games when both sides had such a challenging match they show respect at the end where it could've went either way instead of the childish banter you see occasionally.

They'll probably extend the event like they do every time because they mess something up, it wouldn't be BHVR at this point if half an update isn't just littered with bugs they're procrastinating fixing
-
Honestly I hate it, its like I learned to ride a bike with broken wheels and then they gave me a new set of wheels with training wheels included after I already was riding without that, that's the best way I can explain it from a day one player POV, it really doesn't matter the role either.

I think the killer have design flaws, I don't know if we can call him OP, but he have problems for sure.
- I know how to look behind me in chase, in fact I do it frequently, the problem is that for removing the power of the killer you have to look too much time at him, to the poin in which is easy to collide with objects and and it make difficult to manage some structures or the most cluttered maps. The problem is that if they reduce the time you should look at him, then his power would be very weak, it is kind of difficult to find the balance, so it is a design flaw imo.
- The AOE hitting through walls is one of the lamest things in the game currently.
This is why I believe distance is key against the unknown, when you can break LOS and make distance it's easier to focus more on him without being within a short range where if you have to dodge his spit you aren't losing ground from it with him right there, I've been just making distance when possible and using LOS blockers to try and force him into long range spitting or trying to telelport to catch up and usually the player will just switch targets at that point

Would recommend strongly watching some comp players play the unknown against other comp players, as saying he is another leave the loop and hold w killer shows either wilfull ignorance for the sake of the argument or the experience of a survivor that is quite bad at the game. He is quite loopable and the AoE can still be dodged.
Not really , it's map dependant or tile dependant on if you can loop safely , you aren't always gonna be in areas where he's loopable, most of the time the loops aren't tall and he can just spit to the other side , I could really care less if you think I'm bad I don't have to watch comp because I scrim plenty of comp teams in kyf on a regular, can you say the same? from what I can tell just leaving the area is safer than looping that killer unless you have the area to actually pull it off .
-
@MechWarrior3 said:
If Weakened…look at him while looping. Dodge his uvx. Go left….go right. (Not sarcasm)
It’s as simple as that. He uses uvx to block off loops too like clown.
You can't loop this killer unless he's bad, his projectile power on impact has a radius that can get you at any short loop even if it was a complete miss and the longer you stay at any loop the worse you are , the best bet is just to make enough distance and hope there's not a a husk to teleport to in the direction you're going, basically another throw a pallet hold w on the killer chapter, I absolutely think he's high A tier if not S from what I can tell just because he has the ability to shut down strong loops and he has the ability to go across the map fast which are the two main factors that determine how strong a killer is.

Thing is im not really a flashlight save type player and i only used them to try the build out. Thats a funny mindgame tho
Lol if I'm ever in the mood to troll that's how I do it, it's too obvious when everyone is empty handed that it's about to happen. It's extremely rare all 4 survivors have nothing going into the trial so if you reverse that mindset you have them running useless perks it's way more effective that way
-
See you did it backwards, what you do is start with all flashlights then quick switch to no flashlights so the entire build is based around defending flashlights lol

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WBW67CIQQ3RV/whyyyy.jpg
The fact it doesn't work through generator blocking ON TOP of the fact it's straight up more of a killer perk then self care. Yikes. Also got tunnelled off hook and pulled off hook against my will. Another beginners trap. So that was 'fun'.
I would've gave up on hook or DC'd and normally I'm a big advocate against that type of thing but that right there is absolutely warranted in my opinion, I really think some people are liking that perk because I've caught people using it on other survivors already which wouldn't make sense if you've already prestige and tried the perk why in the world would you keep using it?

Agree that Adrenaline should stay untouched.
Disagree on the "get good" argument. We have now MMR, if anything, MMR should be reworked. We cant tell people to get good, they are already placed at their MMR spot playing against other people who should be on the same level of skill.
If the perk would be problematic on all kind of MMRs, then sure, Adren would need a nerf, but i dont think it is.
Mmr isn't real and it never has even worked right even if it was, in reality you're just getting thrown into the fastest possible match with the best connection for everyone involved
-
Lmao so not only are people wasting 2 whole minutes in the basement but then to top it off several killer perks can completely negate the effect and make it where you may as well just have been afk, top tier development there let me tell you it really makes me want to spend my money 🙄
-
If anyone has a problem with adrenaline as a killer it's because they aren't good to begin with, worst case scenario 4 survivors are running it and you as a killer still had the whole damn game to do your job 5 whole gens , this handholdling is getting crazy at some point people need to just be told they aren't good and the changes aren't necessary.

Yea the perk is pretty bad actually I'm just gonna say terrible and completely useless. Some number tweaks again might help idk. I do know though that sitting in the basement for 2 minutes no matter how many gens are left is just a waste of time especially with the new 3 gen mechanic in place. Its a cool sounding perk but even with no risk of the killer coming down its a huge waste of time. Even with 4 people on it its not worth the basically 4 gens you could pop at the same time instead of doing the invocation together.
To put it into perspective in two minutes if 3 survivors were all doing gens and one was being chased you would have 3 gens completed and the last 2 in progress, compared to being at five gens and multiple survivors staring at eachother in the killers lair for a measley 10 charges

Now they have bots I honestly don't blame someone for DCng as soon as the auras start showing around the circle , if 2 survivors are there right off Rip you might as well go afk and just let them kill you or move on to the next match there's no fun in a 2v1 the killer would have to be extremely bad to fail, if one gets hooked and the other starts getting chased while 2 are in the basement it's a wrap, match finished you're not coming back from it if you allow 2 people to take 100 percent of the heat that long with no gens popping

lets be honest if the perk where that good it would still be unusable cause all killer would run terretorial or just patrol basement to get a nice nasement hook
Exactly , if leatherface goes down there in the middle of it the game is over you've pretty much lost when 2 survivors get instantly taken out
-
@Ayodam said:

I would like a second objective but not one that has survivors just sitting in the basement half the match, its not actively progressing anything really because a whole 10 charges off a gen isn't worth that

@Blueberry said:
While I do think current DS is still actually very good and people underrate it tremendously, I wouldn't mind if it was returned to 5 seconds as long as I never see it if I'm not intentionally trying to tunnel and should not be able to be used aggressively like before. Old version would hit you ALL the time when not tunneling and survivors would try and force it on you. Its perimeters for deactivating need to be very soft to where basically touching anything that's not a window or pallet turns it off and if I down another survivor I think it should deactivate as well.
I can get behind the down the other survivor and lose it part, but however I don't think it should go away simply by interacting with something because then you may as well not even have DS at all , there are alot of times even though its not smart gameplay the killer drops chase completely to make their way back after a unhook to tunnel, so if it takes them time to come back and a survivor hops on a generator nearby you think they should lose DS for that? Let's be real the only killers that DS can really affect are ones that go out of the way to tunnel at this point in time unlike the origins of where it began, I feel like alot of the hate towards DS is PTSD from the bullshittery of the old days where it was just out of control with how powerful it was.

So, let's make the survivor go down in a 20 second chase, make the generator complete in 50 seconds, and make it so that if the killer kicks the generator, it will break by 50%. This will save you a lot of time while maintaining balance.
The only way you survivors can enjoy the chase is by facing the task of completing the generator. Don't forget. If that's not the case, then you shouldn't be fun dbd in the first place.
"You survivors" buddy ive been a killer main since day one im not sure where you're getting at? I'm not saying it should be that short, I'm saying BHVR needs to add something else to go with the gens and THEN shorten gens and make the other objective a more interactive one, I personally want maps increased in size with across the board buffs for both sides, this is a damn video game it's supposed to be fun not a snoozefest because some people cry to these devs for more nerfs when in reality they just suck at the game and BHVR has catered to that, the fact people want more for solo survivor when the hud tells you everything blows my mind I mean can they not read? And some people still think gens are too fast lmao what a joke that is

so they took the grabs and its only a disadvantage for the killer
so please dont try to say: suvs got a bad time
You lost me when you said DS is still good, that sir is a blatant lie and it's funny because you tried to justify it by saying "if you go down by a window"
Survivor is in a bad place because it's boring not because it's hard, you spend more time watching progress bars than actually having fun and all it really takes is one person not doing anything to actively ruin the game for three others

When i say viable, i mean in top tier mmr against the best survivors. There's a reason that every comp match and tournament has heavy survivor retstrictions.
The last comp I saw go down was before all the gen regression , in this current state of dbd I'm not sure there even has been a big comp recently, and also killers are restricted from using certain perks I've been in quite a few tournaments and depending on who's hosting really determines that so you're really basing the restrictions off of what a content creator thinks not that those survivors needed them I would argue if you lifted the restrictions the same team would win anyway

All of them give up pretty fast except one who plays occasionally, and much like you, he only plays killer now. I can get them to do customs with me sometimes though, which can be fun.
Hopefully your friends return one day and you can get back to enjoying the game the way you used to.

In my area, the percentage of killer players who quit because the game was too hard is significantly higher than 1/4 of the survivors. If you include players who simply got bored and quit, there would probably be more survivors.
That was a long time ago when players quit due to difficulties, now they quit because both sides are stale the excitement isn't there for either really , survivor isn't hard it's just a boring gameflow in general you're just holding m1 too much if you're actually trying to survive the way they intend you to and if you want to switch it up with a troll build you're doing it at the other 3 survivors expense for fun

Tier lists are in some ways self-fulfilling prophecies. People often don't bother with killers that are considered weak. The same goes for characters in fighting games or guns in FPS games. So they go unexplored in current metas.
I probably shouldn't have responded to that person honestly but it's just getting really frustrating for me all my friends have quit playing so I main killer and I feel like it's too easy these days and I'm not saying that I don't run into a squad and have a bad game, but most my games are easily won now all the really strong loops I used to have to play around are gone on most maps , these people are literally running in dead zones majority of the time its just not fun it feels like I'm getting it for free, if they make it any easier I'm just gonna hang it up people are acting like it's still hard with all the regression and extended gen time, their heads would've exploded in the old days , sorry for the long reply back but I just miss being super invested in a hard chase and finally catching them because of something I did skillfully, not because BHVR nerfed things to the point I'm almost guaranteed to win that chase if I run it a certain way

This will continue to get better as BHVR seems keen on finally making more than 2 killer viable. The billy buffs have finally brought him to that point, now we have 4 viable killers instead of 2.
We have more than 4 viable killers people just refuse to play those other killers or change the same ######### build they run every match and then wonder why they lose, survivors have been so trash for the past six months I'm starting to believe all the really good players are gone now, ive been playing who people call the weakest killers and winning most of my games, how is that possible if there's only 4 killers viable? I'm nowhere near the best at this game if what you're saying is true I couldn't do that.
-
I love playing against Billy I think people seem to forget before the original nerf Billy was widely regarded as a top 3 killer in the whole game , his ability to snowball is probably what's pissing alot of people off but I would argue they're just mad they have to use their brain
-
Look for loops that interconnect, what I mean for example is like a jungle gym that's beside a T L wall , you want to find a way to run both of those together without just running the jungle gym itself once and throwing the pallet, you want to leave that pallet up as long as you can and run the tiles around it , most killers are gonna leave you when they realize you understand how loops can run together and they're gonna look for someone weaker who is just immediately wasting resources to save themselves

It is hard to believe Pig got nerfed... again.
When they changed her monstrous end game potential around the time the EGC released it was already a bit questionable, but you can see the reasoning behind that change.
The same cannot be said for anything that came afterwards, especially this recent one. The most important aspect of her kit is getting nerfed, and it isn't needed.
Hopefully the PTB feedback will be acknowledged this time.
Just a thought but I'm thinking they're doing this to her traps to get a more pure kill rate reading on her and buff her accordingly from there, while head pops do happen occasionally out of bad luck they need to tone those down if they're going to buff the rest of the kit to bring her back up otherwise she would probably be a monster at tunneling I remember the days of the pig crouching behind in the distance still chasing you but allowing your timer to drop with nothing you could do to stop and if you touch the box you'd just get downed for it lol

People complain too much, killer isn't hard anymore it hasn't been for quite some time now ffs I'm literally over here playing the weak killers just to stay entertained these days, it's posts like this that are ruining dbd and making it a snoozefest because somewhere there's a dev watching this thinking it would be a good idea to nerf more, we've already got enough damn time holding m1 in this game at some point people just need to accept they aren't the best killer in the game and their gamestyle and logic during the trial is whats causing them to lose no matter how many times you blame swf

No, the community jumps onto whatever killer gives them the easiest time. Billy has literally no downside to being able to cross the map instantly and one-shot people even in relatively safe places against other killers.
It was PAINFULLY obvious when they nerfed him, and that whole cohort just jumped ship to Blight because he was the next most oppressive killer.

Can anyone please tell me how to counter billy now? it seems impossible to loop him, his power has 0 cooldown, or at least thats what it seems, I cant do sh*t even throwing pallets, or juking him, because in the next second he has his chainsaw again. Why BHVR never seems to hit the correct spot? It always has to be waaay too Overtuned, or absolute dogsh*t, never the correct one so everyone is happy.
This type of talk is why Billy got nerfed before I'll give a few tips to help, and I'm not saying you do any of this , never camp a pallet till the last second 9/10 times you'll get hit , loops like car loops and truck loops ( or other similar loops) are your friend against Billy majority of the time you can leave the pallet up not throwing it and continuously loop forcing him to go for a trickshot around or give up sawing for a m1, holding w is NOT a good strat on Billy on open maps because his power can erase the distance while also one shotting so if you're holding w keep in mind where your LOS blockers are and use them often, the goal with Billy is to keep his saw in check and force him to abandon it to be a dry m1 m1lly also another one is Billy at the beginning of his dash once it starts it takes him a second with some distance before he can have full control rather than barreling forward so if he's a Billy that likes to pop around corners already taking off you can use that to your advantage and force him to overshoot or take off when you didn't do what they were anticipating

It wouldn't take much for them to fix the issue but sadly here we are, in my opinion they went wrong when they decided to find ways to extend the trials without adding anything additional, you can only hold m1 for so long before you finally play something else and realize what a real game is supposed to feel like, there's a reason the devs tell us to "play something else" when we're tired of it and it's because they don't care they've already made more money than they ever thought they would when this all started

Simple solution to tunneling:
Make not tunneling more rewarding than tunneling.
Right now, there is Grim Embrace and DMS, even with nerfed stbfl Killers are going out of their way to hook 4 individual survivors and purposefully ignore the obsession.
Yet countless thread about how unbalanced and unfair those perks are.
So you dont tunnel and survivors dont like it, you tunnel they dont like it either...
You can nerf and punish tunneling all you want, there is simply not a single strategy in the game that is more efficient than getting one person out asap and robbing the survs of 25% efficiency across the board.
People will always play versus games competitively. Even goofy and silly games like fall guys get completely min/maxed.
Its human nature that ppl want to win.
Encourage not tunneling. Basekit grim embrace, 10% repair debuff if 4 survs are 1 hooked, whatever.
Nerfing tunneling or implementing basekit bandaid "anti tunneling" buffs for survivors wont change anything.
Nerfing tunneling while not offering survivors anything additional will absolutely change it (as long as BHVR doesn't do the stuff theyre known for and give survivors something that breaks the game.) if you punish players for those strategies then the players who are using actual skill to win stand out more, kind of like in today's dbd if you can hold a long chase you're a good survivor because tiles have been nerfed and pallets removed over the years so the better players stand out more than they used to and the same needs to happen for the killer role so matchmaking works just a little more accurate than it does now (I'm aware there's no way to have perfect matchmaking), people are always complaining about survivors but at this point in the game it's a skill issue more than a balance issue , those people complaining don't belong in the lobbies they're getting thrown in and tunneling is the big elephant in the room everyone is trying to ignore so they feel better about themselves and can say they're "good at the game".
-
While I'm personally fine with tunneling because chases are fun, I believe tunneling should receive a nerf if we're going to keep an MMR system in the game, why reward bad players on either side? The game could more accurately matchmake if tunneling were nerfed and then people would stop crying they're outmatched at high ranks, not everyone is the best killer in the world so why offer a cheap strategy to catapult bad players to higher ranks who in turn come here crying because they can't pull it off with 100 percent accuracy like they could before? "Gens go too fast!" Yea when you focus the same survivor for more than a few minutes instead of prioritizing gens that tends to happen

All they have to do is make it to where once a killer is "X" Radius away from the hook then deep wounds won't activate but if they're close enough to tunnel and actively proxy the hook they deserve to get deep wounds, and make it distance from hook not heartbeat activated

I’d like to also mention another factor which leads to an inflated killrate that I haven’t mentioned, and that’s the whole issue of tunneling. Survivors obviously hate being tunneled out, and I’ll admit it isn’t fun at all to be tunneled out. Yet time and time again you look at popular steamers that have thousands of hours on the game and even they tunnel for a win. Take Otz for example, when he’s going for winstreaks or just needs the win he tunnels one person out.
So why would these players who clearly know what they’re doing feel the need to tunnel even when it’s hated by their own community? It’s really simple. Survivor objective speed>>>>Killer objective speed. There is simply not enough time for a twelve hook game against a good team. That’s another reason why looking at purely the killrate is just not valid. It doesn’t really tell you the full story of the match.
If we completely remove the option of tunneling from the killer I would honestly guarantee that this “killrate” would plummet drastically.
There have been many valid points on this thread as to why the killrate is not a valid way to dictate the game’s overall balance including lower levels of play, tunneling and camping in order to even achieve the kills, survivors constantly offing themselves on hook, et cetera.
And I don’t really understand the idea that we shouldn’t balance around the higher levels of play. If we balance around the casual audience the game is more imbalanced when we reach the part of the game where both sides actually know how to play. If we balance around high level then the lower level will simply learn how to play the game as they get better. Most games literally balance around the better players it’s illogical to do the opposite.
This argument is good but at the same time to play devils advocate, even if they made every gen take five minutes killers can still tunnel for a easy win because that problem can't be fixed without changing the way the game flows. I'd honestly like to see both sides get a major buff , them bring back bigger maps, reduce gen time but add another objective required to escape they could spawn a special objective for each realm to do along with gens so it's never the same thing over and over

Killrate is kinda hiding the fact that most games are uncoordinated SoloQ and some SWF that don't do callouts. Broken things on either side can't be excused by killrate/escape rate if the numbers are skewed because of it. Heck, Sadako is getting nerfed from her PTB because of uncoordinated players not touching tapes. How is that logical when she has an easy and non-punishing counterplay in the PTB, but broken combinations of items and perks is A-OK because killrates?
SoloQ needs QoL absolutely, no doubt, but we can't have double standards on broken combinations.
Besides, do we really want to rely on one or two broken combinations, or do we want more balanced things across the board on both sides?
Just my opinion but Solo q doesn't need anymore QOL people just need to grow a brain, how hard is it to do gens when you're not getting chased or read the big blueprint on the side telling you everything you pretty much need to know? Lol Same can be said for people complaining about killer not everyone is the best killer in the world you can't expect every game to be a comfortable experience, I win probably around 70-75% percent of my killer matches just messing around with different killers but sometimes I pick a killer I'm not so great with and get roll stomped by seal team 6

It depends really for me , I used to main nurse so I feel like I can kind of stay a step ahead sometimes, but then there's other times where you run into supaAlf or someone who's really adept with nurse and then it really falls to whether I'm solo or in a squad, solo I'd probably not have a great time but a squad it's always more fun with friends and you can sometimes win those games if you don't give up

It's not that they're mad at the killer necessarily I know people like this, they just don't find joy in doing gens , you can really only hold m1 and run in circles for so long before you try to find other ways to have more fun and make the game challenging and have more excitement, but even that feeling is temporary that's why I don't have any friends who play anymore I almost only play killer when i fire this game up because everyone else from the old days are fed up with dbd
