  • Are you gonna really sit here and pretend like you're better than them because they hide a name? That literally means nothing, the person you're dodging could be 10 times better than you for all you know and here you are acting like it's an inconvenience.

  • Actions are extremely clunky like throwing a pallet has been affected it almost forces you to the middle of the pallet when you throw it instead of the outside, the other day and I got stuck inside the pallet after throwing it so mid chase after stunning the killer I can't move it was a free down for using a mechanic intended to help me

You're not wrong but this thread definitely won't (and isn't) going to go down well given the current crowd.

Feels more and more like an off-shoot of the Reddit tbh.

I don't see anything wrong here what do you mean? No insults and nobody seems to be angry, how is the thread not going down well?

  • I don't know why people are upset I would rather have the bot as my teammate than some crybaby who nopes out of every game, What really grinds my gears are the people who suicide on hook and force the game to be a 3v1 instead of just DC

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Nobody knows.

I had a Chris in my game lately who had Hyperfocus and Stake Out and decided to not do Gens at some point. He let 3 people die while doing nothing.

That's exactly the type of thing I'm seeing, they could have a brand new part and still be afraid to touch a gen

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Skill issue. Sorry always wanted to type that out lol.

lol dont be sorry I love those responses

  • @Krazzik said:

Might have an archive that that requires them to play that way, for most survivor archives you need to throw the match in some way.

Yea maybe, it normally doesn't happen this much but today is one of those days

  • Alot of killers will complain and say they were going for the unhooker but I think it's good, people need to stop proxy camping every hook they get and actually go try to protect the gens and the devs are seemingly wanting to influence that mindset to leave the hook and go for the other survivors on the objective instead of sitting just far enough away the anti camp doesn't work and then cheesing a free down from a unhook, anyone complaining here is failing to mention that side of the deal that's causing the change in the first place , if people wouldn't play like that the devs wouldn't be making this change right now, as for people going across map and forcing DS that's due to the nature of the perk not activating after any interaction people have been doing that ever since in fact that's always been a thing since the existence of the perk

  • Losing players will be the only way the devs listen, if it even matters to them anymore this game has raked in millions more than they ever expected to make already.

Depends, if 80% of the playerbase cannot loop an m1 killer for at the very least 1 gen then yes they are doo doo. Obviously there will be times you are distracted or listening to music or whatnot and commit a mistake and said m1 killer catches you quick, but if you are paying attention I believe there is no excuse for you not showing that person why they should have chosen another killer in the first chase.

For the most part you're right but there are scenarios in which that can happen without getting a chance to show skill depending on map and killer synergy and just the rng of where you're at, you might be against a Ghostface and not realize it yet at the beginning until you're marked and downed in seconds, but then turn around and run him for all the remaining gens when he attempts to tunnel the "ez target", I'm not saying it's acceptable for someone to be downed within seconds but there are situations where the killer can get the jump on you at the beginning and you don't get to prove yourself until next chase

  • @Junylar said:

It's funny how most of the repliers in the thread haven't even read what the OP has said. He means the ability to block other survivors in your survivor game, so that you will never be matched WITH them, not AGAINST them. Nobody is saying anything about "blocking someone who beat me", unless, of course, you are talking about typical soloQ 1v1v1v1v1, where your teammates are more threatening the killer and can literally beat you before the killer.

This doesn't matter because those people aren't so good at the game they deserve some sort of pass, they aren't too good to play with others they're matched with, I guarantee anyone complaining about this would be just as easy of a two tap as the person they're complaining about, they're just clogging the ques while blaming everyone else for them dying

  • This would be where I draw the line and Uninstall this game the que times would be horrendous, it's already full of entitled people who think they're the greatest but then to top it off now we want to mark players with more skill so you can just shut your brain all the way off instead of half way and clog up the ques to protect people's feelings....I wish they would just remove names all together until the end so nobody dodges, people need to get over themselves they aren't some God at the game that's too good to play with other people and they shouldn't dodge because someone is better than them.

i dont even think the devs see it one way or another but they just cant do anything about it

The devs don't care, they just let EAC deal with it and if they aren't caught by the system then the devs let it roll unless you're blatantly hacking and can be reported for something you did in game but if they aren't streaming it they could have you looking like Homer Simpson and make your breathing 10 times louder to where even healthy you're easily found and you'd never know

  • I don't see how this is an argument, yes it's cheating and in my opinion it should be bannable but the devs don't see it that way unfortunately

  • While I personally don't mind being tunneled because I like chases, I despise when people play nurse or another high mobility killer and sit just enough away so the meter doesn't fill and camp the survivor knowing it's not too far for you to interrupt and get a free down, it turns the game into a boring gen simulator with no chase interaction and ruins the game for everyone else, I think this type of behavior should be punished but not the act of tunneling itself I'm fine with that

  • I personally don't think adrenaline needed the nerf at all due to what it took for it to activate, the killer has pretty much already lost if theyre being hit by multiple adrenaline users thats a skill issue not being able to finish the game fast enough, but it's really not all that bad of a change to the point i would be up in arms about it , is it worth running still? I guess it just depends on a variety of things sometimes it's gonna work sometimes it's gonna be useless so you have to ask yourself do I want this perk or something that guarantees me value?

  • @Peanits said:

If you're okay with it, please let us know which platform you play on and (if on PC) what the specs of your system are. This update shouldn't have an impact on performance, but we'd be happy to take a closer look.

I'm on steam , I've been experiencing problems with rubber banding and also clunky animations , I threw a pallet earlier today and got stuck on the pallet because the animation was clunky and it merged my characters hit box with the pallet and I couldn't move, it seems like any type of action is causing this , I'm running on a Ryzen 7 with 32 GB of ram, a Nvidia GeForce 4060 gtx, with 650 gb of free space on a terabyte drive my system shouldn't be having any issues running this game based off the specs and other games are working fine

  • This is actually a big problem because they can also make your model bigger and make stealth impossible, the same with killers like Myers and Ghostface they could be turning them into a character that makes them stick out like a sore thumb and make any real stealth attacks next to impossible to pull off, and how would we know unless they're advertising on a stream?

  • I feel like Unknown is in a good place the only things I would nag about are QOL type fixes for him not really buffs or nerfs

I don't know I should mentioned the perk is currently bugged and in one match we did the ritual and not single gen lost those charges. Killer downed someone so it might just been grim embrace which caused it. Corrupt ran out just before we did the ritual in earlier match but it might do just same when active.

It doesn't work on blocked generators, Mandy explained that in a different thread so potentially you could be down there all that time and under the right circumstances it literally would be for nothing depending on what perks are being ran by the killer and what's happening out of the basement

  • @solidhex said:

I'm in no position to argue about the current state of the game, because i haven't played the game in months and can't really bring myself to come back because of all the stuff, perk changes and new content i have missed. It just feels very bad when you come back to your former favourite game and you don't understand what's going on, because 2-3 new killers have dropped and the meta has shifted, DBD has become way to complex… but anyways, my point is something completely different:

When people talk about how bad old DBD was i often see arguments like "there were infinite loops, insta-heals etc. …" but in order to make things comparable you have to keep in mind what both sides had back then and how the state of the game and the community was. I was able to win killer games when i started to play in late 2019/early 2020 despite all of these OP things.

The playerbase back then was much more casual, there was much less information and content on the internet on how to exactly play each role the most efficient, the general vibe was more casual and partygame-like. One of the reasons probably was that there was no MMR, only seasonal ranks, so matches felt way more random. Sure, bully squads existed, but if those would have been the regular experience, this game wouldn't have grown to the peaks it later had.

So my point is, it was perfectly possible to play the game as killer even with all this OP stuff in it, because 90% of the playerbase either didn't know about it or just wouldn't use BNP, insta-heals or bully swf loadouts every match. Same goes for solo survivor, killers were much less focused on highly efficient gameplay, so having a weak link wouldn't automatically mean a 4k at 4 gens like it was when i stopped playing in December 2023.

You played din 2019 that's when alot of the stuff was watered down already the stuff we're talking about is before that, like how you used to be able to Sabo trappers traps and they would be gone forever forcing him to be a m1 killer the entire match and then if someone else was Sabo on the hooks they were gone forever too and you just had the basement, in 2019 that was long gone you guys didn't have to deal but with the tail end of it

My post is focused on since when I started playing in 2018. I used to be able to play chase-oriented builds and have a lot of success. Now if I’m not camping and tunneling against a good group, the game is already decided. I don’t care about 2016 dbd in which there were instant gen repairs and no gen regression period. If you want to go that route though, killer also had things that were much stronger than anything currently in the game. Nurse had no BS recharge meter and killers could mori without hooking.

In 2017 alot of that stuff was still there for survivors and it wasn't for killer so no it wasn't like you're saying with all that at the same time, this game was stupidly survivor sided when swf was introduced and the devs focus was to make it more fun for friends to join , the killer still had a 1 hook mori but killers across the board including nurse were nerfed while survivors stayed the same for a long time, maybe when you came around in 2018 it was starting to change but if you played killer in 2017-2018 you should know today's dbd is nowhere near as unbalanced, I used to despise DS so much for getting hit with it on first down after chasing someone at a long double pallet loop macro clicking with a true insta blind flashlight, I wanted to quit back then lol I don't feel that now

  • @woundcowboy said:

BTW, following the DS changes, killer is now even weaker. The killer role exists for the amusement of survivors. Check out the changes over the past few years if you need proof.

Maybe it's just you and you need to try something different than you have , the killer role is significantly better than it ever has been , I've played a long time too more killer than survivor you can't sit here and pretend like it's worse now than back then with the old brand new part, go ahead and post a non hacking video of 4 gens popping in 12 secs from todays dbd because that's the type of things we used to deal with every 3-4 games or how about when they Sabo the damn hooks they were gone forever leaving you only the basement? Recovering exhaustion, instaheals that I could pick a dying survivor you just spent 3 minutes chasing at a REAL infinite back up to full health instantly and make it like the game just started again, and don't get me started about the swamp and survivors dropping down the hole and you getting stuck on their head until they decide to move or you DC etc... there's literally a novel I could type out of all the BS that was actually broken back then today's dbd is way more killer friendly than it used to be

saboteur would only be used for dailies and challenges…. Which I’m fine with tbh

But there are survivors who literally don't know it's a bad perk, so no, those people aren't throwing.

Those survivors must not know how to read then because it's blatantly obvious

  • Not really if you look at the responses above that I'm talking about making basic answers in chat because of the controller with a type option added , someone called me out thinking I didn't know they could use keyboard but it's just really uncommon on console.

  • @devoutartist said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3704074#Comment_3704074

you know you can plug a keyboard and type normally just like pc in all games that have chat on console you can do that

Yea I know but there aren't many console players who use them most just use the controller

  • Idk I don't really notice that, I feel like tunneling is pretty random in my survivor matches, there's no specific killer that is doing it more than any other it's just an occasional thing that pops up, example: I'll have a p100 nurse one game that is cracked hitting unbelievable hits and doesn't tunnel anyone then get another p100 nurse a few matches later that will stand just outside the anti camp range staring at the hook waiting to tunnel.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

basic responses would be ok but I'm glad console players don't have it.

Lol yea, they want it but they don't realize the insanity that comes with it. I understand they don't want to feel left out though even though they're not missing anything of value really besides the entertainment value of watching 2 entitled people arguing with eachother occasionally

  • It's because most console players use a controller it takes a long time to type anything of value on the chat and by then they're most likely gone. I do believe you should be able to have the option though and maybe a quick menu for basic responses

I've seen enough suggestions to make hooks teleport like ph cages to know that it's always meant change nothing else but make the survivor teleport after being hooked.

Yea if you read further down I already found out what they meant and changed it

You missunderstand, good sir. He's not saying "dpwn a survivor and teleport them to a hook." He's saying "teleport the survivor to another hook whenever the killer may be near."

Ohhh lmao nevermind my bad I thought they meant teleport them straight to a hook without the killer knowing I'm like well all the other effects to that are a gigantic negative

  • @Xernoton said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3704038#Comment_3704038

I don't think that's what op meant. Cages don't activate base kit BT and anti tunnel perks but op claims, this would solve tunneling. So they probably meant that only the teleporting part for caged survivors should be implemented without any of the positives the cages grant you. Meaning, flashlight saves would go nowhere and the killer would still have to spend all that time hooking survivors.

This is a big nerf to killers and it would completely defy the AFC's purpose. It wasn't added to stop camping but to limit the effectiveness of face camping, which it already does.

The loud noise notification for unhooks isn't a bad thing either. If you heal right there when the killer comes back then you made a decision and it backfired. So the better option is to go somewhere else. The killer will be busy getting back to the hook and now they'll either find the survivors (in which case the unhooker's job is to make sure the killer goes for them, if at all possible) or they won't and the notification does nothing.

People seem to forget that the killer doesn't only play a series of 1v1s throughout the game but a 1v4 and taking away any information they have severely limits their capacity in doing the latter, which means they have to double down on the 1v1. For that to be possible however, we'd need some stronger chasing perks, even more powerful slowdown or even weaker maps. The STBFL nerf sure didn't contribute to M1 killers having a capacity to keep their chases short.

Never mind I thought it OP was talking about teleporting straight to a hook not the hooked survivor teleporting when the killer is nearby

  • Let me guess hillbilly on midwich? Lol I've faced him like a million times the last couple weeks, only one time I survived because the hook he was teleporting the survivor to had another survivor running beside it and it glitched the killer inside a hook and he got stuck

  • @Feneroe said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3704038#Comment_3704038

The only way that stuff would stop is if the killer could just hit a button and summon a hook through a downed survivor like sending to cages work. Otherwise, all that will still happen because denying the killer the hook and wasting their time is still just as powerful.

I thought he meant the teleport to a hook not teleporting a hooked survivor is why I said that

  • @Sandt1985 said:

…………………..So basicly, survivors would always get a free unhook? No risk, no danger, no counterplay, just a free unhook no matter what?

    Seriously?

See you think this is a killer nerf but it would be a buff in reality, you'll eliminate flashlight, firecracker, flashbang and pallet saves by implementing this, also Sabo would be gone, breakout and breakdown would be useless, killer would save time because carrying and hooking would be gone, and the only thing you can think about is you can't proxy camp the hook and make the unhook risky.........I don't want this implemented because while it sounds like it's helping it would hurt survivors

  • @supersonic853 said:

Yeah I hope action is taken against them for that. You should be allowed to run a perk without being sandbagged and harassed. People act this way with no mither trying to get the survivor running it killed. I at least as a killer have a bit of a moral compass to go after the troll if I can tell that's what's happening. And normally If I find someone doing a invocation I let them do it anyway. It doesn't hurt me that much If it goes off.

"It doesn't hurt me if it goes off anyway"

That's the main problem, people are spending all that time in the basement and even if it goes off it doesn't hurt you and you're sitting here saying openly you would be willing to allow them to do it which shouldn't be a thing

  • @Krazzik said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703473#Comment_3703473

The problem is you can't say that they're throwing just for bringing the perk. Yes, it's an awful perk that usually will do more harm than good, but like it or not it's a perk in the game that people are allowed to bring and try and get use out of. Most people who play the game don't look at videos or streamers or forums about it and some people may genuinely not know it's a bad perk, and may genuinely be trying to make it work. Even if someone legitimately IS bringing it knowing it's a bad perk, that's STILL no reason to just outright sabotage the game.

You go into this game knowing that the survivors and killer may bring any perks, addons, items, offerings that are part of the game.

Well like I said I wouldn't have went to those extremes but I definitely understand the mindset they have, and yes that perk specifically is throwing there's no other way to put it, you can't sit here and pretend to care about winning with that perk in your build

  • @RFSa09 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703718#Comment_3703718

the point is: you shouldn´t just go to the other side, if you lost collision with him you have a lot of mind games to do, but just holding W will mostly be better anyways (mostly, not always)

Lol I agree ,I would say it always is better personally, holding w after a vault even if it's just to loop where you are already is always gonna be better than trying to window tech an experienced killer , that's a death sentence in this game, not only that but I imagine the killer would troll me for insulting their intelligence

  • Yep, when the killer vaults the window you can time it right and run back through them the other way or use a map/key to do it and break collision ive been at this game since day once , when they run through you if you have a decent set of headphone on you'll absolutely hear it, if you're talking about the sliding window vault I really wouldn't call that a tech

  • They're countered by a pair of headphones there's no way you can't hear the survivor doing it and not only that but it's obvious when it happens, it's only a tech that a brand new player will fall for, if you even want to call it a tech for sacrificing all that distance to attempt to make the killer look dumb

  • @Krazzik said:

Invocation is a pretty garbage perk but that's no reason for a teammate to grief you over it. Same as if your teammate is running No Mither, or Self-Care, or boons, you're probably not gonna be happy, but you gotta make the most out of the teammates you get given. Throwing the game because someone is using a perk in the game is ludicrous and thankfully is bannable.

They literally could have helped you do the invocation faster and given your team an actual chance at winning instead of being the cause of the loss.

I don't think they had a right to grief but I will make a point you were talking about the team throwing , running this perk pretty much is throwing right from the start, I wouldn't have gone to that extreme of notifying the killer but I can see why some people would think "they're throwing so I am too, screw the match"

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703435#Comment_3703435

I didn’t even know it worked behind the killer. There are tutorials of how to clip into the killer when they pick up so I thought you had to do that.

If can hug right up to the body and time it right it will work everytime, I knew there was a glitch with keys and maps with breaking collision but I didn't realize there was a different bug

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703425#Comment_3703425

Nah, you can literally go into the killer model and drop the flash bang right when they go to pick up. It’s crazy tbh.

Either way with that combo I could drop it behind you and still get you with it. I get that it's radius based but there has to be a way for them to make it to where it actually has to be in front of your physical model and still have somewhat of the radius effect

  • @Nun_So_Vile said:

Teammates trolled and griefed by running that awful invocation

For real though lol, "they're ruining my game!" While also sitting in the basement for half the match watching people take all the heat

  • To be fair when does anything work properly in this game lol

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703406#Comment_3703406

Survivors being able to clip through killer models needs to be removed entirely tbh. Except for cases like when knights guard is chasing you and right after injuring a survivor. Although it doesn't happen that often, its omega wack when they get a flashbang save even when looking at a wall lol.

That's not from clipping through the model that's because the devs have flashbang as a radius based blind, if you're in the radius you're blind even if you're kissing the wall , that's how flashbang has always been but people are just now figuring it out, even if they removed the flashbang entirely firecrackers do the same thing, the problem with that is that background player came out and it created the problem where if you're faced against the combo you have to be good enough to slug or pressure people away

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

Now that we've seen Blights hug tech has been removed, do you think are we going to see the removal of techs from both sides? What about the dumb tech or the window tech where you clip through the killer's model? What about Wesker's hug tech or Billy's Lo Pro Flicks? Or being able to use background player to drop a flashbang inside of the killers model when they pick up to guarantee a save?

Are we just removing killer techs or techs in general? I would sob uncontrollably if they removed orbitals from the game again.

A ton of survivor techs have been nerfed in the past the ones that are left are kind of an intelligence test, the survivor in front of you just stunned you with a pallet and you saw them with a flashlight and you know another survivor is down under your feet, are you really gonna fall for the CJ? Is it really broken when you had all that information? , window techs were good in 2017 but now? I know without a doubt it's a new killer if they get window teched in 2024, I personally don't think either side should be getting anymore techs removed it's a slippery slope because if you nerf Blight for the hug tech you almost have to look at oni and billy for the same thing and I personally hope they don't take anymore from either side i

  • Oh, well that's surprising. Normally with BHVR once they've invested time in animations were stuck with them.
