  • It's because they're adding a animation that's going to take nearly 2 seconds so it's really not even changing besides the animation being added

Not a SM player but.. Man that’s really rough for those who just like to play that Killer…

Yes but at least I'm not pretending like I don't deserve it back when it happens, It's not even that she's a strong killer the design is just terrible, on a personal level though im always nice in the chat no matter what it kinda messes with some people c

  • To be fair I probably deserve anything I get from a skull merchant because I despise the killer design so much I'm just toxic to all of them I face hoping they start playing a different killer, am i rude in chat? No but if you're playing a killer you know annoys everyone then I'm gonna be annoying too

  • Quick gambit is only good if a killer is so set up in tunneling that they're willing to ignore a generator about to pop which is extremely rare

  • Tunneling isn't an every game occurrence but occasionally it can happen multiple games in a row, I see it more often in the morning when there are less players on but in the evening it's rare unless someone is going out of their way to troll, that's about the only time I really see it at night.

If that was the case, then having a mori with such an animation would be no big deal but somehow I don't think most of us would accept that.

We are talking about a player going out of their way to insinuate sexual assault. They do not do that as a mind game, they do not do that to gain an advantage (quite the opposite as they waste time doing it), they do it to ruin the game for someone else. That is the definition of toxicity and definitely warrants a report.

But it doesn't though, it's not assault it's a game where some kid made that up, if we're gonna take that stretch then the nurses mori is sexual assault because she unwanted rides me and the clowns is because he licks my pinky finger without my permission, do you see how ridiculous this sounds? Stop letting some kids control your fun

And that's exactly the mindset I'm talking about. We have grown this accustom to this bs that we actually accept this disgusting behaviour and therefore encourage people to do it.

If someone indicating sexual assault is not where we draw the line, then where is it? What is enough to make people realize that there is a really big problem with attitude in this game?

Don't get me wrong, Ivs grown accustom to these things over my 3.7k hours of playtime. However, that doesn't mean I accept it. I speak up about it. In what other game is it OK, that the playerbase literally r***s each other to taunt?

When did things get this bad???

It's not sexual assault though it's a video game, if you're gonna call it sexual assault call the authorities right now and see what kind of response you get for it , it's absolutely ridiculous it's not sexual assault , nothing is physically happening or even mentally for that matter because some kid made it up and you're allowing it to dictate your fun, what do you suppose we do about it? Freeze the killer in place for downing someone?

Im not talking about tbagging here. Some killers are humping survivors. That is literally the killer sexually assaulting a survivor. I cant be the only one seeing that right?

So what? Are you really gonna let that piss you off? I give those people a double dose of their own medicine in return I don't let that bother me, they aren't even really doing anything they're moving back and forth and some immature kid decided that was what it meant

I don't see the humor in someone indicating sexual assault.

Sorry, but my understanding of humor end there.

What are people doing that says that?

I think these people are a big problem. They can make people quit the game. Sure, you can say: "grow a pair, it's not that serious!" but is this truly the best we can do? Accept this kind of behaviour? Endorse it?

I don't see slugging, tunneling, genrushing, camping or any strategy in that sense as bm.

We should help to create a healthy environment. Games are there to bring fun. Reality can be harsh enough already.

What behavior do you mean? T bagging? Pointing? Nodding? Absolutely they need to grow some backbone it's ridiculous to get upset by it in a multiplayer game in 2024 , end game chat I understand people being upset about toxicity but in game it's totally up to the player to control emotions and either give them their own medicine back or brush it off, it's a game where you're trying to murder your opponent we need good laughs here and there, problem is people forgot how to see humor in it

  • You taking it too seriously is the problem, it's only toxic if you allow it to upset you , I've gotten to where I just laugh at it too or be the same back it's way more fun for me this way, you can't force people to play nice in a game where you're relentlessly trying to kill them and if somehow they removed the option for any expression people would still find a way to get under your skin and the playerbase would dwindle extremely fast feeling like the devs made yet another unnecessary change

  • It's gonna sound like a dumb answer but stop caring, I did it years ago and it helped me I used to have this pressure feeling when the game first came out like I was stressed to perform well as a killer or just nervous because its me vs 4 others, I ultimately just let it all go and started playing killers I wasn't good with to get myself over it , it's just a game we're all here for fun even the other side regardless of what happens in the trial.

  • It's because the devs designed flashbang to be radius based not visual remember it's an explosion not a light beam shining into your eyes it's always been this way background player has just got more people realizing this , firecrackers do the same

  • I really hope they ban this guy I've ran into him 3 times today already it's really annoying

  • This is the billy I was talking about in the other thread @Dustin

They get banned it's just it doesn't matter because the anticheat isn't full proof and they just hop accounts in less than a minute. I've gotten the same person banned multiple times but it doesn't matter.

In fact I just now had him again make that 5 times in less than a week and he streams on YouTube but for some reason it's always on midwich and no other map the March ends in less than 30 seconds he teleports and swings a thousand times then teleports you to a hook and immediately goes for everyone else and will immediately slug if people are nearby

How long is a long time? Being able to blind a killer facing a wall with a flashbang came around Chucky update.

This has been in the game alot longer than that it's not a bug it's been there since flashbang came out, it's because the devs made the flashbang radius based instead of visually based so even if you aren't looking at it if you're in the radius you're hit with it, this has always been a thing but background player is now highlighting the issue with that radius, people can always run lightborn or Franklin's but it's more than likely gonna see exhaustion perks not working while holding a flashbang if it keeps up

  • @KerJuice said:

Survivors in general are not the problem- it’s 3 or4 man SWF’s who make balancing this game miserable for Killers and solo que survivors.

I would argue on most killers thats not even an issue anymore, it's solely up to the killer on who they pick and what they run, if I wanna be as sweaty as a 4 man genrush squad I can just as easily pull up my nurse and end that fairly quick, I like to play freddy, twins, oni, Billy and demo now because 95 percent of the survivors aren't a death squad and you can usually stand a chance with about anyone on the killer roster if you've got a little experience under your belt with said killer, I was a nurse main for years and honestly it's quite boring once you get good with her there isn't much survivors can do beyond throwing straight repair builds with toolboxes and dedicating to seperate gens .

but ur saying that killers should only get a 2k if they are equal in skill right? but that is just a draw for the killer, so killers get either a draw or lose. in other pvp games there is always a winner and a loser. draws are extremely rare, and the one that wins is the better team right, using all their knowledge and mechanical skills correct?

so if i get skilled at the game to only get draws whats the point? if the game acknowledge my skills for example says victory instead of vague things like brutal, ruthless, merciless, and was direct i wouldnt feel as bad.

and what of the survivors, the 2 that die, did they win or lose? and the 2 that made it out? did they win or lose?

are survivors part of a team or are they individual?

if they are individual then fine, im good with 2 kills 2 escapes.

but if not then thats lame, its considered a draw and thats what is expected?

conclusion is that if i put alot of time in the game to only get draws as the standard then the game doesnt reward the time invested

make the game direct to the player: defeat, draw, victory so we can avoid all this confusion

If killers aren't good enough to get beyond a draw that's on them you can't blame survivors or balance for all your mistakes at some point it was your fault, people need to get over themselves thinking the game is just massively unbalanced like the early days of dbd , at some point people have to accept they aren't the best killer in the world, they aren't the next otzdarva just because they started streaming, skill does matter and just because you're having a rough experience as a killer that doesn't mean the game needs to adapt until you're unstoppable and can kill everyone with ease, it's up to the player to find ways to get better even if that means swallowing your pride and inviting the squad that just stomped you to a kyf to try and get better and trade turns playing killer you'll learn so much more doing that than you will in pubs all day

  • One hint I'll give is freddy is at his best in a hit and run playstyle, you want to try and spread the pressure around because his chase abilities are situational on whether survivors are asleep or not .

Have I already emphasized that I play a special build that compensates for my weaknesses in the game? (im bad at looping e.g) I think so... Although I'm a lone wolf, I like to help and of course make generators. Normal or ? Whether stealth play is good or not. It doesn't matter and is in the eye of the beholder. But the most important thing for me is: safety first. So if I realize that the game isn't going well, I play it safe and that's the ONLY RIGHT WAY TO PLAY -for me-. I'm not someone who constantly sacrifices himself for his teammates. I want to survive, whatever the cost !

but did you ever think that some survivors could also ruin my game by playing full risk instead of trying to survive?

    -Helloooo killer hunt me-

I always have fun. But it can't be that I'm the one who has to suffer just because some players are so frustrated because they failed. If the killer catches others, it's their fault, not mine.

Well its like I told you at the very beginning of my comment I'm not gonna tell you how to play your game you do your own thing as far as that goes, you should definitely consider taking time to get better at looping so stealth isn't the only upside you have though is one piece of advice, I never said it was your fault they get caught but if you're not actively helping progess the game by doing gens I could understand why they're mad

  • I'm not telling you how to play your game, but stealth is rarely good anymore just due to the sheer amount of perks there are that can detect you, if you're hiding too much you will continue to have this problem because people would rather sandbag you and not have anyone at all there than someone who is just hiding waiting for the other survivors to either all die or do all the work for them, and I question how much you hide when you say this is happening alot , if you're one of those people who don't do anything but hide I don't blame them, have you ever thought maybe you're ruining their game also by hiding alot instead of helping? If you don't care about their fun why should they care about yours?

  • I just play the game like normal so they can learn from mistakes, no point in treating them like babies they'll never learn that way and develop bad habits along the way

  • @PanchuloXD said:

Lately i've realized survivors repair gens very fast and also run fast enough for killer can't get 1 before other 3 repair 2 gens before min 2. It is so frustrating as a killer because some maps either have many pallets and structures, which makes pursuits longer, or are too large that you can't control 1 gen without at least one of others is being repaired. I think solution would be running or repairing speed for survivors.

What do you think? Of course this happen only with intermediate and upper levels survivors.

I think you need to re-evaluate your gameplay on those games and see where you went wrong, gens definitely aren't too fast anymore with all the slowdowns available and the old BNP gone, there's always something you could've done differently, when I hear fellow killers talk like you do it's usually mid level players who have a good understanding of the game but unfortunately that can hurt sometimes and you can know just enough to mind game yourself in chase thinking you know what they're about to do, practicing in kyf at problematic areas for you can help alot and help you find new mind games or get smoother at the ones you do so people don't realize it's happening

It would still be a nerf to Myers in the end.

Regardless of how you do it, if you give Survivors a sound cue that alerts them to the killer's presence, they will check their surroundings and quickly run away as soon as they see you looking at them since it's not hard to spot Myers in the distance, it doesn't matter if you make it into something that all Survivors can hear regardless if you're actually nearby or not, the outcome will be the same no matter what.

It has to be audible only to Myers no matter what, it is the only way you can bring it back in anyway without turning it into a nerf in the process.

But there's already a sound there for the tier up so how would it be a nerf? That other music would be way cooler for a tier up and then leave the tier three que the way it is, I think you're misunderstanding what I mean , I don't mean stalk music I mean use this music as the sound when he hits tier two instead of the sound that's already there

  • @Smoe said:

Only if it's Myers only who can hear it when it plays, otherwise it'll just be a nerf to him.

Or make it to where that's the sound que for him leaving tier 1, I definitely don't want to nerf Myers but this sound needs to be brought back, you could even make it like a small buff where when he leaves tier one this sound plays to all and he stays undetectable until it's over but during that short time he has his tier 2 benefits and it leaves survivors wondering if he's right there on the other side of the wall or not

  • Dbd isn't really either sided because at the heart of it , it isn't really a competitive game no matter how much people try to argue it is, its more like a fist fight where you can beat a sweaty swf and then turn around and lose the next one anything can happen, there are too many variables that can determine whether you win or lose like teammates, builds, maps, etc... survivors sometimes can just be running the right thing to perfectly counter everything you do out of sheer bad luck and sometimes there is no clear cut winner and you have to make your own set of rules for whether you won or lost example: 2 dead and 2 escape did the survivors who escaped really win or did the killer win? If you answer a tie then you made up your own set of rules for what you consider a win or not because the game doesn't tell you that it's a tie, this will always be a semi balanced party game where the power is constantly shifting between roles

  • I loved playing as twins before all this but these changes do feel alot better I must admit but either the survivors I'm facing are still figuring it out or she's a hair overtuned, but we've got a whole week to figure that part out I'd say they're pretty solid changes

  • I do it when the killer is nodding and going back and forth over top me once they catch me, you can bet your bottom dollar I'm wasting their time and being as ######### as I can in game, I'll never disrespect in the chat though I don't care what they say I'm above that nonsense but personally I'm fine with anything in game, don't get mad get even is the best way to handle things it's only gonna be unfun if I allow it to be

  • 3 gens are beatable though I personally feel like some maps need to be a tad bit larger , gen spawns can sometimes be ridiculous with 4 gens right in close proximity , it draws the game out a bit but feels a little tight on certain maps where you basically can stand in one place and see multiple generators at once, I think they should take away the 8 kick limit and make the maps a little bigger to where 3 genning is possible but also beatable without giving the killer a punishment for doing their job

  • Who really cares? It's a horror game where you're trying to murder your opponent, there are bad manners on both sides but nothing worth looking at, I guess to some people it's only okay for killers to have bad manners but at the end of the day I enjoy both sides of it because I see the humor in it I think it should stay, I guess I should start expecting manners from the survivors I'm trying to murder because that makes sense ...

  • Congrats brethren!, my freddy is only at 82 right now.

  • @Zarzunabas said:

    We already have "the Clown".

It's not the same though, they could do some really cool things with a concept like that even if it wasn't caseoh just a killer that could take a big bite out of the pallet to break it and throw a piece of it at the survivor or something crazy, the caseoh part would just be legendary

  • @Blueberry said:

    1. Survivor gets rescued off a hook.
    2. Killer decides to go for the unhooker since he doesn't want to tunnel.
    3. The unhooked person then uses OTR or the base Endurance mechanic to body block 1 hit for them.

Killer then has 2 options. Continue chasing the unhooker or now target the unhooked who abused the "anti tunnel" mechanic to body block.

If he chooses to now target the unhooked that body blocked he has to get a 2nd hit on them. Then he eats a DS (now getting buffed) to the face. To then have to chase him for a 3rd hit, which now eats him a DH. To now chase him again for a 4th hit for the actual down.

Note if we choose to instead continue going after the unhooker, the unhooked person still body blocks all these attempts to force this above interaction regardless. So we have the same result.

Now we may say, let's ignore all this by just forgetting them both and go just randomly check the remaining gens to look for someone else. Except that unhooked is still following you and doing the same thing.

Hey though, just down him and leave him there! Except you still wasted 2 hits just to get him there in the first place from him body blocking you and he has Unbreakable for that not to matter.

I am not saying we shouldn't have anti tunnel mechanics, I like those. I'd even improve them. My point here is simply that would y'all agree that we could/should design the anti tunnel mechanics in a way that also prevents them from being abusable for their unintended purpose? I intentionally try not to tunnel, like going out of my way, and I am still getting hit with consecutive OTR, DS, just the base kit Endurance, as they are very regularly forced in my face. Maybe this is rarer at lower mmr's, but this is extremely regular in my games.

    Thoughts?

The reason it's like this in my opinion is because those types of perks were nerfed a long time ago and the only way to guarantee value is to put yourself in that situation, If they do anything else it's gone and it shouldn't be that way , there were still people that used it that way before when doing gens didn't take it away but from my experience now if they have any of those perks they play exactly how you described to get value otherwise they may as well run something else rather than hope they get tunneled to use their loadout, I really think it would be healthy for the game if both sides got some pretty significant buffs,

kinda like current DH except with no counterplay? ouch. If they were to add the dash back I feel like one of 2 thinks should be done

    • Add a hinder effect post dash to balance the distance

    or…

    • Add kinda like a Doctor shock effect for like 2 seconds where you can vault or drop pallets, sweaty hands or something.

Again I am only saying this cause truth be told I miss the dash, but I understand it is unhealthy.

I would be okay with the dash being there if the deep wounds or free hit was taken away along with giving it the added benefit of working when healthy, the dash by itself was never the issue and it fit David's character it was always the combination of having an I frame or free hit with the dash because then it's a get out of jail free card b

These games are brutal. It's like every killer is trying out for the Olympics and they might die if they don't make the team.

People can make whatever claims they want about tunneling being ineffective but it's shutdown nearly every game of the last 20 or so I've played. This, when there hasn't even been a gen finished. Can a guy make some points before being steamrolled?

Seriously, is there something I don't know about going on?

BHVR has said they're looking into a solution for tunneling hopefully it comes sooner than later, I personally don't mind the chase but it's annoying when the killer only focuses 1 survivor , all of the survivors are wanting to play a game not hold m1 while one person gets to play the whole match, or worse if the survivor is in a rough spot and not the best in chase they may as well be dead at that point because they are guaranteed to be robbed of finishing the game

  • One time as a survivor a killer told me I was cheating because I pointed at him, apparently in his mind because I pointed after everything I was doing in the chase it made him only want to catch me and because he never caught me he was trying to say taunting him was cheating and that he was reporting me......I'm still kinda confused on how that works lol as for survivors trash talking it would take me all day to find the dumbest one there's way too many times it's happened

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Add On-Design is not consistent in DBD. You have weaker Killers who have restrictions on their Add Ons while stronger Killers dont. You also sometimes have harsher restrictions on Add Ons which are just weaker than others who dont have Downsides.

I think the main reason is because not everyone works on every Add On/Killer. They have teams which design specific Killers and their Add Ons and those teams dont really have to communicate with each other.

We have seen this with Singularity - in one Q&A they said that they had a different plan for him, but it turned out they would have just created a second Skull Merchant, meaning that they were about to do the same Killer twice in a row, because there was no communication between the teams.

So I guess people who have desigend Bubbas Add Ons are not involved with Blight or vice-versa. And this creates those inconsitencies where some really strong things are allowed to be around for far too long (see Alchemist Ring) while others have restrictions which are just not needed or are just nerfed over time.

You're also forgetting that it's more than likely a completely different team now than it was when at the beginning I've slowly watched all the originals leave and go to other projects, I know before McLean left he was the mastermind behind blights power

  • Demo for me, it's a rare occurrence but as soon as I hear the terror radius I always get excited

  • Freddy is not weak, it's a user error for alot of these people hating on him

If your kid were playing softball and a parent from the other team started yelling horrible things to tilt them would you laugh that off? Smile and say it's just a game?

Don't become a Stockholm syndrome killer, please

So I'm a clown for not getting offended by in game BM? Endgame chat is different but if that's your definition of a clown I'd hate to see what you think of a grown man who can't even handle pixels on a screen moving up and down , and if you actually read what I wrote anything in game is fair game no matter what anyone says its not toxic i don't care if I bleed you out nodding in front of you it's only personal if you allow it to bother you that's my point , if you want to be a emotional wreck that's offended at every turn of this game be my guest

but still maybe you can asnwer me that question why is it that people love to do stuff like that knowing fully its just to disrespect the other person or maybe they even hope they can get to them.

that last question is for you two you have quite the big mouth maybe you can answer

It's only disrespect if you allow it to be personal that's my answer, I encourage you to try laughing at it next time you feel it coming and start doing things to troll back in game, be nice to those people and give them props in the endgame even if they aren't nice, you'll have way more fun while making more friends and the childish people to ignore will stick out , see it from their side that they don't know who you are you're just the entertainment for the next 5-10 minutes and it's only gonna be as much fun as you allow yourself to have, if they aren't personally insulting you in the chat why should you hate that person for having fun is my question to you?

  • While I do agree the autohaven Buick sized hit box is annoying sometimes its kinda necessary, when the ping is really good her hatchets aren't hard to dodge but when the ping is bad it's best not to test your luck and try not to put yourself in a position where you're leaving it up to ping whether you got out of the way or not.

It's a game , I won't allow these people to bring me down but I'm not young either I've had my whole life to get thick skin before this game came out, when I was younger I may have reacted different idk, but I'm a hippie at heart I could have someone be totally trash to me in game and I'd still be nice or even team up with them afterwards and become friends if they wanted, if someone ever bother me enough to feel a bad way about it I would just turn the game off and do something else but that hasn't happened to me yet, I get more frustrated at myself than other people sometimes

  • Yep as long as you're not trying to tell someone to hurt themselves in the end game chat or being unreasonably rude to someone in endgame chat because you lost then everything else is fair game, I've been camped while bled out, camped on hook, bagged until I bled out. I've been against flashlight death squads with macro clicking and t bagging, no mither Sabo squads back when that was actually a thing, etc... I've had people be toxic in every way imaginable to me and I'm still right here, not once have I went to the extremes of acting childish in chat for it either

  • Anything in game that people consider toxic is a "YOU" problem, it's only negative on you if you allow it to be , anything in game is fair but the end game chat I agree can overstep some boundaries, both roles have ways of being ######### this is a horror game where people are dying in game , I would argue if something non verbal in game bothers someone so much then they don't have a healthy mental state to be playing a game like this in the first place and should consider that stuff like that is only an issue if you take a video game that's meant for fun and make it extremely personal for yourself instead of laughing it off or returning the favor
