  • I personally think it's fine the only thing it proves is how loose BHVR is in each mmr range , considering that's a wider pool than just the top players in mmr that's a pretty good number, people forget how easy it is to get to high mmr in this game it's no different than the old days of playing till you get to rank 1 people get there eventually even if they don't belong there just by time invested and that's why alot of these numbers aren't taken super serious, I'd bet if you made another bracket just in the high mmr range and took the absolute top players and looked at their numbers it would sing a different tune that what you're seeing here.

I mean, Rapid Brutality and Batteries Included are both decent on certain killers (Rapid on Clown is insane), but unless it's on those killers, they're pretty boring. I love what BHVR has been doing lately and I appreciate the work they've been putting in, but the Haste stuff is kinda boring.

Yea I think the ideas are starting to run out now for BHVR alot of rinse and repeat perks

  • The only way that could work is if you distributed more to the killer as well, with the idea I just think it would take longer to balance than the life cycle this game has left they'd be better off putting that in a DBD2 which more than likely won't happen due to the amount of licensing and time already put into this game, I guess maybe play TCM? That's about the only similar game that isn't totally dead yet.

Batteries is better than rapid for sure. But why take that, to make your chases that happen near completed gens (something you already don't want to be doing) be 5-10 seconds faster, when you could instead by running another slowdown perk that buys you far more time?

I agree the slowdown is more likely a better option but people are sleeping on batteries I mean sure you don't want to necessarily try to chase around completed gens but at some point you'll end up doing it anyway because gens aren't super far apart and any competent team will try and break a 3 gen early and take you around those completed gens, it turns into a pick and choose your battles situation but batteries can help end a chase you might have left before Is why I consider it slept on even though I personally don't believe it's a super strong perk or anything.

  • Unknown is a B tier killer, his spit is situational but can also be strong when used correctly, I like to play a hit and go style with that killer where I utilize my teleports not only as a tool for sneaking up but for breaking a chase I'm not gonna fully commit to where I can infect, make them waste a resource and leave without wasting time and not giving them a chance to refresh on me during chase breaks

I dont care whatveer person it says. They think thats the deal and everybody can see the resemblence of this action. Its trying to harassment, there is nothing to discuss. If you think you can excuse such behaviour, its up to you. But we live in 2024.

It's a slap in the face to anyone who's experienced it in real life for you to compare it to that, in 2024 you think that's acceptable? Equating a child's made up action in a video game to real life assault? It's disgusting

So because some immature person said that's what it meant you're going to allow it to dictate your fun? It reminds me of children saying that holding their ring finger up is flipping you off in a different language its ridiculous, I guess those kids are all grown up now though huh?

I'm fairly sure the amount of complaining about background player, has skyrocketed through the roof, ever since the clipping bug started happening. BHVR should be fixing this bug.

Yes you're right that's when alot of people realized the strength, BHVR needs to fix the clipping issue so they can properly adjust the radius to where people can't get Blinded from a flashbang that's either directly beside them or close behind them and it would be resolved totally on both ends I really don't get why things like this take a long time to fix but if we have space billy or space hag in the game they have to cut all funding to anything else and direct it all towards taking a fun bug away that isn't giving people a real advantage

  • I genuinely don't get why people try to make it a real life problem when it's not anywhere near being one, it's a bunch of pixels lol

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3724500#Comment_3724500

Flashbang shouldn't have the double radius feature it currently has. There shouldn't be an inner radius, where it doesn't matter which direction the killer is facing. If a killer is directly next to and is facing a wall, that should 100% be good enough to protect them from flashlights and flashbangs.

I also don't understand this "small chance" statement. There are SO MANY people in my games that do this. I really don't know what other people's games look like, but my games are very often dealing with coordinated SWFs that are very obviously using voice comms to coordinate stuff.

I guarantee I deal with just as much swf as you do I just enjoy sweating for a W and not everyone enjoys that which is why I dabble in the ladder also aside from regular games , but that's besides the point we're talking about the flashbang background player combo , it's not in every single game you play you're lying if you act like it is, flashbang has always blinded even when facing walls the firecrackers work the same in fact that's why even as a survivor if you're anywhere near a teammate dropping one it doesn't matter if you're not looking at it you'll get Blinded in that radius I'm not defending it either like I said earlier it needs some sort of solution to that combo,

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3724471#Comment_3724471

"Just pick up at walls" is currently bugged, because survivors can clip through the killer, and drop the flashbang while overlapping with the killer, which works even if the killer is facing a wall.

Looking at the wall never worked for a flashbang anyway because it's radius not visual like the flashlight, I personally believe you should be exhausted while holding the flashbang due to being able to have it repeatedly and background player almost forcing you to have lightborn in those situations but then you have to ask yourself is it really worth it to bring lightborn for the small chance of them having that? I personally find enjoyment from beating them without it and out witting them at their own game of trying to always be around for the save, I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like they never get the save but I like the challenge and the adrenaline rush from both sides making big plays in crucial moments

I mean, first of all, it depends what the LIcense Holders allow to use. I dont know how the situation is currently, so not sure if the Jason-License Holders even have the rights on Camp Crystal Lake for example.

But I am also not really sure what they want to do with Jason. Because in the movies, he did not really have any abilities aside from his inhuman strength. Which we basically have with every Killer (and is also basically the trademark of Trapper).

That's why I said he would end up being a underwhelming m1 killer more than likely

  • I honestly want to just quit when it happens in my killer games, once one survivor does it it's like a domino effect because nobody wants to play anymore then we're all stuck with not alot of points and wasted add ons or offerings, meanwhile the guy who just ripped the big fart and left the room is already in a new match, repeating the cycle until they get a easy killer or preferable map, the game should time how long it takes to sacrifice yourself on hook and if you go from first hook state to dead too fast you should get a matchmaking ban just like you DC so that way they have to eat the penalty regardless.

  • It would open the door for water on maps and a swim mechanic for both sides, but I know I'd end up disappointed because BHVR isn't gonna do it right we'll end up with a underwhelming m1 jason running around a small enclosed map with just a view of the lake. I'd honestly say if that's BHVR'S plan for a jason just don't bring him at all I'd rather have a legendary skin for Trapper than a F13 chapter with a weak jason and a halfway done correctly map.

the fact that you thought that perk was fine proves my point💀

I don't know what's funnier the fact that he thinks the perk was fine or that he thinks everyone is a clown who thought the perk needed a nerf,

  • The people who are calling this a nerf are making me chuckle you're definitely showing your skill level whether you're intending to or not

  • I personally don't mind slugging ive said plenty of times i think anything in game is fair play but I do find it funny seeing some people who complain all the time about very small things survivors do, right here defending slugging and just leaving bodies on the floor for 4+minutes while nothing is going on in the match, these are the same killers that when they lose they cry the survivors wont leave or they 99 the gates just to bully them....geee I wonder why people are treating you this way? It couldn't be that you tried to be toxic only to have it backfire in your face 10 times worse.…

Unfair compared to who? I don't think it is unfair... If you spend more money on hardware your game will run better compared to some 10 year old potatoe pc... Does that give you an advantage? Yes! Is it unfair? No why would it?

It's unfair due to the way the developers have intended sound to be there and not canceled out, I have a 4000 dollar pc and don't use any res changing/filters or eq modifiers, my hardware isn't bypassing an intended feature of the game there's a difference, I can have my pc be nice and not be using hardware to gain an extra advantage , Regardless this conversation is pointless because it's not something that can ever be banned anyway.

Survivors would realize she's not overly difficult if everyone didn't automatically throw in the towel.

I haven't seen people doing that in a very long time but I will say I don't enjoy facing her and not because she's strong it's just an annoying killer, when I get in the match with one I make sure to take all the heat right from the start just to ensure I have a fun game

  • Is it cheating? I guess it depends on what you yourself view as cheating, so many content creators use sound equalizers like that it's not really fair to consider it a cheat but I do believe personally that you gain an unfair advantage with the EQ just for the simple fact those sounds aren't meant to be canceled out so you can hear better it's there for a reason

  • Just throw on a bunch of anti tunnel perks and the rest of the games you have today won't have a single tunneling killer because that's how BHVR operates

  • It doesn't really bother me I just go push them out because it saves me time to just go ahead and force them out rather than go somewhere in the map to avoid the survivors and hope they leave all because I dont want to see a t bag, that's just as childish as the people who stay inside you're giving them what they want when you let them sit in the gate until the timer goes out

It's hard to say from me because I like to just throw the dice when it comes to perks ill just look at the survivors I have in the lobby and throw a random build together, I would just sit down and think of different perks that have synergy with Freddy's ability that best suit your playstyle and randomly swap between that perk group, you know all the undetectable perks are off the table from the start lol so I would just start from there and see what interests you in trying out

But what you stated about PH is exactly true with huntress. You can dodge PH just as well as you can dodge huntress. The killer can also cancel and go for an M1 the same way. I'd bet the cooldown is probably similar to before you can attack.

But if I'm hitting a window you can still miss with the hatchet if you just aim in the direction with pyramid head you hit its not a skill based input in the same sense, do I dislike these killers No I don't have an issue but it's a fact you don't have to have near the skill level to be good with pyramid head like you do with huntress because input matters more for huntress her skill ceiling is higher I guess is what I'm getting at

  • @Sandt1985 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/414182/so-theyre-just-going-to-keep-making-anti-loop-killers

You either have a killer who is strong at loops, or a killer who is awful at loops. There is no in between.

While I don't agree with OP on vecna there is a way to have both and I'll provide an example,

If I'm against a huntress her skill matters in loops and even if she's right there for a free hatchet hit she can still miss because the player input is important

If I'm against a pyramid head and I get zoned at a window or pallet the players skill no longer matters in some scenarios because you can't miss unless it's in the open for the survivor to have movement to dodge the attack

Neither one of these killers is by any means OP but by design in my opinion huntress is better because skill expression means more and one person could be terrible with her and someone else be a total legend with her due to skill alone and not a cheese ability and I think that's more of the mindset OP has regarding killers who can cheese their ability for a hit instead of the skill being important.

  • Vecna is easy to loop people just need to get good and I know that's harsh but it's reality, he has to slow down when blocking that pallet and you can just w over to the next structure and literally go back and forth and duck under the skulls he also has to slow down to use those, if you're a survivor that already loops more than one tile at a time and interconnects loops then vecna is a piece of cake and honestly could use a buff or two in some areas

I mean sure it has more value against the worse killers, but that does not make it bad or useless against the stronger ones. More than half the roster of killers need to catch up with the distance you got during this time. Sure some can hit you from distance or blink right on top of you like Nurse for example, but it is still quite the time loss for the killer, and especially in addition with Dead hard and OTR against hard tunneling it works really well, as after it you are no longer in deep wounds, so you can benefit from dead hard again.

I guess what I mean is a good nurse player more than likely won't tunnel because they don't need to but I don't run any of those perks you threw out there in my main builds (I enjoy off meta builds), I personally believe OTR is better even though i dont use it but just from playing against it and it replaced what DS once was, but it's okay we've both had different experiences in the game that have given each of us the opinion we have

I disagree. It is easily one of the best perks in the game.

Well that's your opinion we can agree to disagree on that subject, I don't see the value in having it outside of playing against bad killers who rely on tunneling, which you should be able to run them anyway without it

  • When they're doing Sabo you almost already know you've won the game it's just a matter of time, I enjoy sweat squads it feels more rewarding to win those games even though they're not a every game thing I guess it's just the pressure of having to compete to win instead of it being a one sided beat down with no gens popping.

Just because it is not completely busted and stupid does not make it a trash perk.

It's not a trash perk but it's definitely not one of the best anymore

  • I'm old so I'm aware of what it is and while I don't know exactly what BHVR is planning it should have you extremely excited, D&D opens the door for about anything just due to the nature of the game, my friends and I used to come up with new tales and make new boards so every time we finished we could have one set for the next time we met up, if BHVR was ever gonna let a character be created in any capacity in their game this would be the chapter they would do it with, even if it's just creating the appearance and having everything else set in stone something like this probably isn't beyond the possibility just because in D&D anything can happen

Calling one of the best perks in the game trash is quite the hot take there ^^

They aren't wrong honestly it's far removed from its glory days at the top where you could immediately use it without being hooked and it was always ready to go, now there's so many things that can take it away that if the killer isn't trying to actively remove you it's a wasted perk slot, for that alone it's not a top five perk for me personally

  • The devs are always removing skill expression it's on both sides too I've never seen a dev team so dedicated to removing fun from their game, they literally just want survivors holding a button all trial and the killer holding w all match and if you find a flashy way to down someone with a killer then they have to remove that too so you're doing the same thing every game, did you find a cool tech as a survivor? Oh great the devs can go ahead and nerf that how dare you push a button that's not W or m1 in their game

  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard xbox doesn't have anonymous mode at all leaving an entire playerbase unable to access the feature anyway,

Rn his cooldown is his biggest issue, he is easy to play because of the scamper mechanic, which I do agree rn is problematic. But he is very easy to dodge if you are not out in thr open or in a deadzone. His stealth is countered by having ears and even if he surprises you and hits you with slice and dice, he has to wait 18 seconds before he can do anything, if he gets the down outside of hidey ho mode then lmao, that survivor got downed by a powerless 110 killer.

Is not that he is bad, Trapper, sadako and myers exist, its just that people overrate him so much when dodging him is so easy, his stealth is incredibly avoidable and prob his only unique aspect is he is the only killer that can use checkspots.

You're expecting people to be good at this game and have enough brain cells to loop m1 killers? Good luck lol, talking about checkspots I can already tell you're a ladder/comp player you told on yourself with that terminology lol it takes one to know one I guess but chucky isn't bad but not great he's mainly a solo stomper in my opinion

I have a friend who is still relatively new to DBD and only plays custom matches. He has never played in a public one and refuses to ever do so.

Custom matches are a good thing it will build confidence for your friend, you should also set up private matches with friends for him and show him the ropes or the more fun side of dbd like builds that have synergy , also ive saw some people call t bagging toxic but I disagree it's a valid strategy I'll use to be tunneled but I'm not rude to anyone in the chat I just do things to get myself the attention in game because I'm benefitting my team by wasting that extra time where they normally would've left but now feel like they have to catch me and as I've said before I'm fine with whatever repercussions come my way in game I know I deserve it lol

  • @BigStan said:

This is kind of the reason I want proximity voice chat. The communication that you can perform in DBD is really poor and often leads to misconceptions of intent. I know a lot of people are against proxy VC and I can see how that lack of communication improves the atmosphere of that game, but is it worth all the misery it brings?

    Edit: Typo

I would argue it would be more miserable to have to deal with a squeaker screeching and hurling slurs because they're being proxy camped or tunneled or they wanna blame their team for them dying, I feel like it opens the door for trolls who would be doing things on purpose to get a reaction whether it be for their own personal humor or a social media account

  • The philosophy I go by is there's good and bad people everywhere no matter where they're from, all you can do is be kind to those around you and hope for the same in return. Just because someone appears toxic from a playstyle in game, if they're being nice and not rude or egotistical people also need to accept that person isn't out to hurt them and they'd more than likely become a friend If you allow it, but also there's gonna be people that no matter if you were toxic or not they're just out to be crude for no real reason and they just generally aren't good people for anyone to sit and try and conversate with

  • The first time I realize they have it I get caught off guard but then I'm usually fine after that and can hit them all unless I'm just having a bad day

  • If you're in a situation where the killer is possibly about to find you ill heal you just to get you to the mark faster but I'll let go before it finishes so you can still use it as intended, the reason people try to help is because most survivors dont use plot twist properly and it ends up hurting more then helping when instead of just one person being hooked they found the guy Plot twisting too and got a extra hook for nothing

  • People wanna act like this is non stop 4 man squads with infinite flashbangs refusing them a single hook, I've played killer only the last two days and have only seen it a handful of times, most of the time once I know they have it , it's no longer effective at that point, are people forgetting you have to do gens to get it in the first place?

  • Reactive healing+solidarity is a fun one to run, especially in a squad that likes to take aggro or go for saves

  • If it weren't for the que times being bad I'd take it back even further and go back to the very specific point in rank based matchmaking where it seemed like the players you were paired with and against were genuinely of equal skill, but alot of survivors and killers complained it was too hard to pip up in red ranks but I personally felt like it showed you who the true top players were at that point in the game before they updated it yet again and it went haywire just matching you with anyone.

  • What's funny is if you didn't tunnel you made the whole team waste 2 perks lmao

  • It depends on what you consider dead, the game isn't far off from being finished with updates and new additions and soon we'll be left (hopefully) with the servers still on so you can play just no more new content, if they shut the servers off the game is officially dead unless you use the back door into the old version of the game where the servers are reliant on the killer but finding lobbies will be ridiculous unless people make that more known on how it's done, I'm not allowed to post it here but I can confirm when dbd goes down occasionally you can play the old one and there are a few content creators and others who will hop on it so the ques aren't so bad but if you were to hop on it now with current dbd working nobody will be playing you'll just wait

bots sway from side to side to a much more extreme extent than regular players. their swaying is not mitigated by the slinger walking backwards at all. they get stuck on obstacles far more easily than normal survivors due to this, and consequently manage to yank the harpoon out more often. is this an intended "feature" or just one of many other bugs

Most survivors dont sway side to side but it's very effective when they do, from what I can gather most people are just pulling in the opposite direction but some understand the sway helps more, so I would say it's not exclusively a bot thing but bots do it in my opinion because that's what the devs are intending you do when shot
