It's pointless to fix anything until SWF, the core problem of the game, is addressed.

Swf is a non issue people overestimating their own skill is the problem, if the killer player isn't good enough in 2024 after all these changes they're never gonna be good without tearing the game completely apart to give them a clear advantage, that's the cold hard facts whether anyone here can accept it or not. Swf hasn't been broken for a couple years now and in fact I bet you beat them alot of times without even knowing they're a group, a solid group with communication at the core of it is still a solid group and even if you take communication away it won't take the skill away from those players they'll still do gens and loop just as well while making plays for eachother.

  • It's possible but it pretty much depends on the skill level of the killer and your own timing whether you get it , whoever was playing killer just picks straight up and that's a dream for every flashlight user I mean of course it's possible whenever you look into the wide open like that with no shades (lightborn)

So basically you only say GG when you win the game? That's the whole point of this post. There's an obvious trend of people who only reserve their GG for when they win smh

I say gg no matter if I win or lose , I'm talking about the whole part where it was said if you won you shouldn't say it first, who really cares about that? I can't believe this is even a thread, this type of mentality is exactly what's wrong with this community

  • @Nazzzak said:

Bottom floor is strong for survivors but top floor is weak. There are tiles on the top floor that simply removing one pallet creates a deadzone. I had a game on there once where 5 gens spawned on the top floor and only 2 on the bottom and it was hell.

I'd argue they're both strong but the bottom floor having the extra vaults gives it the edge

  • Play however you want they didn't buy your game , tell them to try not to die next time.

  • I'll say gg whenever I feel like it people need to get over themselves, it's not rude or disrespectful and I'm sick of all these toddler minded individuals in one place, this game has to have the community with the most fragile feelings and ego I think I've ever seen in a gaming community and people call this toxic? No this community isn't toxic in fact if someone was as toxic as other games the tears in the forums that would arise would be like the second great flood but with no ark to save anyone.

If it's not a problem, why do so many people say it is and have visual proof of it being a problem from the perspective that the game is a 4v1.

I don't think it's broken but it 100% is unhealthy. It literally makes a decent amount of players choose to hide all game, which, encourages people to give up and hook because they can see a teammate doing nothing, it encourages the killer to camp and (somewhat) tunnel because they can't find other survivors, and for the killer side, you literally are only walking around and checking lockers if the survivor hide.

What exactly do you consider training wheels? You suggest aura reading as one but what else because under the context that certain perks are training wheels cause they help the killer in a certain way, that could be said for a lot of perks, aura reading or not.

Game sense, from my experience, doesn't really help in these cases because it doesn't make sense to hide all game and game sense usually requires something to go off on. If they don't touch gens you can really say they are there or not. If they also have calm spirit, then you can't rely on crows (even though crows aren't really the most reliable thing to begin with), and there are a lot of lockers in some maps.

People who are gonna hide are gonna do it anyway that comes down to a skill issue in chase for them to not wanna be seen so they have a better survival chance so I would say distortion is also training wheels for survivors who don't feel confident in chase or are flat out just tired of always being found first, as for the killer the aura perks are training wheels because threads like this just outright prove people rely too much on specific perks instead of game sense, I always say if people want to find out how good they are join the ladder discord where you're only limited to 2 perks in a limited selection to begin with, it will show people whether they have game sense or they rely on builds too much

  • @KazRen said:

I think they should increase the amount of tokens maybe to 5 in exchange for it to only be rechargeable in chase cause it's pretty obvious that this perk isn't healthy.

Its not really a problem because nobody is forcing you to bring aura perks the killer player is choosing to do that and some people will bring distortion in response and there's nothing wrong with that, it's not broken or unhealthy some people just need to take the training wheels off and gain some actual game sense instead of relying on the same build every match, in case nobody knew there are a whole lot of good perks that don't rely on aura people could be running but they're simply choosing not to so I don't feel a bit bad for them

  • It's the god pallets that the poster is referring to and they're right, while as a survivor it's a ton of fun for me personally, I also only play the weaker killers on the roster so it's easier to determine how strong a map truly is and that one is probably the most survivor sided map in the game due to the 8 god pallets and the extra pallets that are there being extremely safe minus like one because it depends if the wall is open but when it is it's another must break to continue situation.

    The thing is

    People want to nerf regression
People want to nerf aura reading
    People want to nerf tunneling
    People want to nerf slugging
People want to nerf add ons
People want to buffs maps to help survivors

What are we suppose to bring as killers if you nerf all of perks ? Are we meant to play with predator, stridor and whispers only ?

This isn't at all what people want I'm a pretty balanced player of both roles who has been here a very long time, I personally think that stuff would be fine if people would stop crying about survivors, survivor hasn't been OP for a couple of years now is the truth of the matter and you have these average killer players who still struggle and they want to do just as good as the streamers they watch and some people just flat out don't have the same skill to do so, same could be said for the survivors who complain about everything you mentioned, if we would actually buff both sides this might start feeling more like a game again instead of what we have now which is just the slow removal of skill expression on both sides where instead of having exciting gameplay you have straight cut and dry boring strategies that nobody really enjoys, but I'm probably the minority with my opinion anyway and alot of people don't want the other side to get anything of value or fun to use

it is not uncounterable, you can crouch preemptively but it is impossible react to if the player does it right. Every player I have done this on has no reacted to FOTD. You can only predict this play.

See I don't even know what play you're talking about like I said I haven't seen a uncounterable move in my games but if it's there it should be changed

  • Why do people still quote this guy I really don't understand it he gets washed in the comp scene, he's clearly an average player when you watch him stream, why does everyone pretend like he's some god that anytime he makes a suggestion we should implement it, all because otz couldn't just shut his brain off and interact with the chat while playing the game with that darn distortion around he has to quit talking and interacting and actually pay full attention to the game and that'll never do for him.

The Japanese DBD account posted that they're looking into an uncounterable Vecna ability. It's not Mage Hand since that's already getting nerfed, so the only other option is FOTD.

If it's an uncounterable ability like they say then it should be changed, I personally haven't faced a vecna that's been able to pull that off yet but no player on the killer or survivor side should have an uncounterable ability and if you think it's fine then we should bring old dead hard back with the I frames and dash both along with the old syringe that could pick you up to full health from dying, I prefer both sides have skill input be what wins them the chase not by technicalities because the player used a uncounterable attack, if you brought the syringe back I can heal tech mid chase and if I time it right you'll hit me and I'll be full health with a speed boost when I was supposed to go down, uncounterable things get removed for good reason otherwise you set the stage for stuff like I mentioned above to return

  • Billy has always been better people just threw him away when he got nerfed originally but even nerfed billy was still better or at least on par with Blight, billy was the number 2 killer in the game for a long time and those nerfs didn't change that they just made billy more annoying and drove people to other killers.

  • Hey now Franklin's is a good perk lol or at least I think so, I like to equip Franklin's and Hoarder on Hag to trap items, people just love it when you do that.

In the old days of this game the anniversary is when the toolboxes use to come out , getting so many event hooks was how you got special items and everyone would Sabo all the event hooks to prevent killers from receiving the reward, in fact for a while afterwards event hooks were unable to be sabotaged due to the outrage it brought.

  • Everyone will have their own interpretation based off of their own experience with those killers, I personally don't believe freddy and onryo are weak but that could just be bias because I like to play those two killers

    Who did hurt you today?

I wonder which part make you think that I'm bad with any killer to begin with. Stop jumping on the gun the moment you see something that contradicts with your opinion.

Maybe it was the fact that in this entire thread you're putting off the typical killer is helpless plea, I'm sick of seeing it people wanna cry that survivors want stuff nerfed but these new age killer mains cry harder than anyone else when killer really isn't in a bad place and hasn't been for quite some time. I'm tired of top tier killers becoming boring to play due to bad players complaining to the devs, people don't want a skilled game apparently we want a braindead w and m1 simulator with no thought needed to win a chase just shut your brain off and let the slobber drip down your face while you mindlessly bloodlust everything because those damn survivors need a nerf

  • @Green_Sliche said:

You really do think that the statistics that stated that killers like Freddy and Sadako had 60%+ kill rates are legit and these killers are on good spot and probably need to be nerfed too, right? It's exactly the type of statistics that devs present, griefers, trolls and chill people who only inflate kill rates are not excluded from the final numbers.

That's is like saying killers are natively stronger than survivors because they can kill them. Well, yeah, what you do expect them to do?

Just because you aren't good with those killers doesn't mean no one else is, people like you ruin this game, you think just because YOU get washed it means survivors need a nerf, well we're all sorry you're not the next streamer going on a 500 win streak with trapper, I've been here for entirety of this games life cycle playing both roles don't sit here and try to act like it's unbearable for everyone just because you're struggling without slowdowns

  • Even their own employees are outraged by their "behavior" lol sorry I had to, but on a serious note while not doing or saying anything that will get me in trouble, this company has a upper management that is totally out of touch with their community and they have a track record of making decisions for the wrong reasons, I've heard what this was about from a reliable source that works there and I'll go on and say the outrage is justified, they deserve more in my opinion but unfortunately that's all I can say due to me being on my last leg in these parts as is

  • There are times you stomp swf without realizing, I can see it now even if they implemented the ability to see whos a group, these salty kids finding a way to still accuse you of being a swf even though the game says you're not, there would be posts complaining the first day saying survivors are somehow a swf when they're not showing up as one because even if you put the evidence right under their nose of why they lost a match they'll point to anything else but the actual problem and blame that instead, it will never change.

  • Vecna is fine, there's nothing wrong with how he plays honestly it feels a little better than it did in the PTB I haven't read the patch notes so I'm not sure if anything changed but it feels better for me playing as him, I think maybe he's just not your cup of tea if you're complaining about him because he's far from weak but he's not an S tier killer either I'd probably put him at a high B range maybe lower A tier but that's a bit of a stretch it's his overall kit that makes it arguable though he's not a one dimensional killer like most of the others

Only way to really find out would be to test it I guess. If they nerf the speed of toolboxes though my question is this: What would their new purpose be? Just sabotaging hooks?

I'd also have to personally disagree on some points though. There is plenty of instances where you can play a near perfect game, but a team of coordinated survivors can still smash out gens, even without toolboxes. So long as everyone has basic looping knowledge and can read the HUD, you can still lose matches despite making minimal/no mistakes.

See I have an issue with the last part of that take, people don't ever want to admit when they're wrong or what they could've done different in certain scenarios, sometimes choices you make can seem like they're right while in reality a different decision at a crucial point can make all the difference in the world, the survivor skill does matter in these situations and sometimes people just need to admit they lost because the other team was better and just give them their props, it doesn't mean you're bad everyone has bad games but it's how you handle it that matters most because you're defeating yourself by making the assumption "there's nothing I could've done" when sure there is something but does the ego allow you to accept it? Nope people can't handle it because they think they're the #1 Blight NA east server and all that bullcrap people spew

  • Farming isn't fun at all I hate it, and not only that but most people don't even have enough brains to do it right when they try, and what I mean is people will down the survivor that just got unhooked so the other survivor gets deducted for a unsafe unhook, or that survivor will t bag the killer wanting to immediately be downed again and cost their teammate points, I mean while I dislike farming I'm not gonna DC , people can at least farm properly of they're going to or I might as well just played normal and got more points

You can vent your anger from time to time, but hopefully you don't overdo it 😓.

I never talk bad to people in the chat it's not even worth it but some people feel like they didn't do anything unless they insult you, unfortunately there's alot of people that way in this community, I understand when people are frustrated but telling people to end themselves and all that nonsense is absolutely unacceptable no matter what they did to you in the game , it's just a game at the end of it all , I'll gg and be humble win or lose

  • I solo from time to time when no friends are on but if I'm being honest I just play killer usually when I'm alone, I just get bored playing survivor with nobody to talk to, I used to dabble in comp alot with my old team and ladder by myself also but now I just fill in as a practice killer for a couple of teams whenever they need one because their killers both play survivor for them too.

You would need to seriously nerf Killers if you want every map to be like Haddonfield.

Most of the pallets are stun or die. The rest are stun and die.

Pallets should NOT function like LT'S. They get shut down by a single perk

Idk if it's just me but I think dead dawg saloon is a good example of a balanced map, it's got a couple unsafe pallets but majority of the pallets and tiles are fair, the map isn't too big for a generic killer and the breakable walls can help shorten the strong loops the map has making it so every survivor can't abuse the same strong tile over and over, if I was gonna make one change to that map it would be to make the breakable wall upstairs just a open doorway and the doorway by the gen and window should already be open the main building is an extremely strong tile and I would argue the extra walls are just unnecessary and overkill in that one spot.

But it still shouldn't happen. We shouldn't need a workaround just to land a point blank hit.

If you're on console that's why you struggle with that, it's harder to hit someone while you have slow motion sensitivity and they're over there like a fidget spinner with double the sensitivity

  • @Royval said:

I think unsafe pallets are good for the game. Learn how to loop without dropping god pallets, safe pallets, I also think killers powers aren’t becoming more cheesy. Unknown and Chucky’s powers imo are the most fun to go against in a killer in a long time.

Now while I'm fine with a few unsafe pallets there are several maps that spawn almost complete dead zones on one side with like 3 pallets that aren't loopable and that is a problem for this game, I shouldn't be able to just shut my brain off and mindlessly bloodlust because the pallet loop is so small that becomes the best play, that's not fun for me as a killer or the survivor I'm chasing because at that point I'm catching someone I'm already faster than due to bad design and not because I did something to earn it , it's not some widespread issue or anything but I do think they need to look at certain maps and re-evaluate their spawn logic to improve consecutive tiles in a row that are bad and for example I mean a pallet with a single rock on one side and a tree on the other type setup where I don't have to respect it at all and if there a few of those together in a row I don't even have to think to win that chase

I don't play on console these days and haven't done for a few years, but I did start on console for a few years on and off and the difference between close FOV spins is quite significant between the 2 platforms.

Firstly its much harder to track a survivor that's really close to you on console and secondly I feel like theres a big frame drop when hitting someone mid spin which often results in the speed boost being much more effective. There was times after a hit on console I couldn't even see which way the survivor ran and they would practically vanish.

Feels like it's just a combination of harder tracking, poor performance and lower FPS that makes it significantly harder. Like it's almost a non issue on PC for me and only very occasionally will I get spun and even if I do I'm basically straight on them 2 seconds later.

I've played on console before but I started on PC I'm wonder if alot of the killer complaints we see on here are from console players? Not saying PC never has it rough and there aren't people complaining for good reason that are on pc, it would just make more sense that people who are getting screwed by things like you mentioned above would be the ones to come create forum threads about how unbearable it is trying to play killer.

Ah it pleases me to even have Nintendo Switch mentioned - thank you! I always feel we get left out of conversations and when people say console, they usually refer exclusively to PS and Xbox 😅

Though I’m just a Nintendo Switch survivor main, I always wonder how the experience is like for switch players as killers (*゚v゚*)

Most pc players have a ego about their platform but I'm the opposite I have immense respect for all of you it's not easy to constantly be at a disadvantage and still able to win games or have the desire to keep playing, I can just only imagine the frustration this game gives people on there because it doesn't work perfect on PC either lol if I tried starting on there I probably would've yeeted my Switch out the window and came here to rant about the devs

It's one thing if it's a slight inconvenience. It's a whole other thing if I literally lost the game because of it. Which has happened many times to me and I'm just totally sick and tired of it. I got 4 outed in that last game because of it when I could have at least gotten a 1k to a 3k if I was just able to land these hits.

Think of it like this, I can move my camera as fast as I can move my mouse when looking around and you don't have that option , on PC you can lunge around certain obstacles you can't on console due to this sensitivity and if you found a way to do it you'd be replacing your controller once a month from the joysticks being flipped so rough so often. That's why I respect console killers though because you're playing handicapped and still fighting it out and able to hang in there.

  • It's the sensitivity I'd almost guarantee it, I don't see how console players can do it honestly I've played on both platforms and can safely say console feels like slow motion just due to the Cap on sensitivity as to where the m&k can always out spin you , when it comes to the killer role console is at a significant disadvantage I commend any killer that hangs in there on those platforms especially Nintendo switch because you know they go through hell against literally any other platform at like 25 fps

I think 4 on the map would be fine if all the zombies had a range detection area to prevent them grouping up. That way each zombie has 1/4th the map they can travel in, but still remain mobile. I think the most annoying thing ever as playing him or against is when both zombies are in a close area to one another either making it so you cant work on a single gen, on a random loop, or pointlessly in a dead area.

One time I swear it was the funniest thing ever, I was doing a gen and two zombies somehow got stuck on eachother near a hook, a random went down who had boil over and the zombies just so happened to get free at the same time and I ######### you not they both body blocked him from the hook the random wiggled out and he DC, I was in tears laughing

I run Empathy and a big upside is knowing where the killer is based on where the injured person is running lol it'll definitely be another throwaway. This is the standard knee-jerk reaction I've come to expect in every chapter though. A game where every second matters and I'm to believe my team mates will spend theirs standing still lol best time it'll come in handy is at the start of the game when you're loading in and have no choice but to stand still

Empathy is a very slept on perk even with no flashlight, it always mind boggled me that people would complain about things like object when Empathy gives you near map wide knowledge and to top it off with the new system you even know when the person isn't being chased at all even if they're still running lol

  • The being still requirement will make this perk not very good , you can't use it in chase, it doesn't show silent killers, the only real upside is you do nothing for it to activate, this perk may come in good for solo simply because if someone is running the killer near you you'll know if they're coming your direction, but then you could've ran bond and known that anyway without stopping what you were doing, I think it's gonna be another throw away survivor perk that people attempt to try and make good unsuccessfully,

  • I don't think he needs that many, but your idea would make for an insanely awesome game mode with a whole bunch of zombies running around , things would have to be adjusted to account for it but what if it was like a time trial or survival mode where the whole objective is to run the killer in a map full of zombies as long as you can and their job would be to down you as fast as possible and they could use this opportunity to introduce a leader board to that game mode which has been something alot of people used to want

  • No one was in the wrong it was just people being hard headed as usual, anything in game is fair play even if it sucks, it only becomes toxic and becomes a problem when you allow yourself to get mad instead of laugh too, don't get mad get even and laugh about it were all here for fun

  • @MaddieMage said:

The 90 second cooldown on bardic inspiration? Sadge. I know it also extends the use of the perk to get value but honestly… I don’t care about the actual value. I just wanna be able to serenade the homies in short spurts. Yall can remove all the benefit from the perk if you want, just gimme shorter cooldowns and the ability to play the lute more often. 🤣🤣🤣

Now we can get the whole band together and run over to the guy ending himself on hook so we can give him a live show to go out to.

  • I don't think it will be an issue the way everyone thinks it will be, the hooks are close in today's dbd besides maybe a couple maps that have dead spots, and they have to have multiple survivors off gens to pull it off if they just have one survivor there to help you can easily switch hooks the issue is gonna be bully squads where nobody does gens they just try to stay alive as long as possible and make the game as crappy as they can for the killer, this will be one of those things people try for two weeks and then drop and especially with a new chapter coming out I see more people making new builds with the new perks than throwing games to do the same old Sabo plays they've already done a thousand times over.

I hate playing billy on M&K due to it being uncomfortable compared to controller. Playing billy on controller is functionally the same as M&k, infact I personally think 360ing is easier on controller due to the binary movement making it easier to hug loops easier giving you an edge to curve at most loops compared to m&k. I will argue till I’m blue in the face that playing survivor for eg is better on controller because you can hug loops easier. There’s alot more to controller then what people think.

On survivor you're absolutely right but I think where you're used to controller it's harder for you to adapt on m&k just due to basic instinct, the sensitivity is the real difference your 100% on console is like 50% on pc, I've played on both and I think it's easier to get on par with most players due to the ease of controller but if you enter a tournament against serious pc players you'll notice the difference immediately with the advantage on sensitivity and the ability to curve in a way controller physically can't just due to the hardware limitations

  • No offense to anyone on console but pc controls are better, console let's you become better faster on survivor because it's easier to control the character and looking behind you while running is easier than pc where your w,a,s,d is movement instead of sliding a joystick, however in the long run pc allows you more control which is how you see alot of pc survivors moonwalking for really far distances at a fast pace while console moonwalks are a little slower and clunky, when it comes to killer there's no comparison if you're on console you're at a disadvantage and you haven't truly played killer the way it was meant to which could be alot of the problem some people have, the sensitivity and control is night and day on any First person view style game

  • That's cool I need to start using that when I'm bored, I mainly do Freddy, Twins, Wraith, Clown, Demo, Oni, Billy, Onryo I kinda just switch between them for the most part but occasionally I'll just randomly pick a killer or tell someone in my house to pick a number and I'll play whatever killer is lands on in order or in reverse sometimes.

1 2 3 4 5 … 60
