I do find him fun but man, his power really is not that unique.
-
Kinda wish they said what the +4 were on killers and the +5 on perks. Other than that bit worried about the Dracula update since he is one of the few killers I'm enjoying right now.
Freddy and Micheal getting changes is exciting.
-
I hate it.
-
Dying Light, Call Of Brine, Fire Up, Deathbound, and Awakened Awareness
-
That's exciting though I do wish they would fix the camera bug that has been around for a while now.

I mean he becomes faster with each hit, also injuring multiple survivors and getting the 4th hit will reward you with a down-inducing 5th hit.
Well yeah but realistically, that 4th hit shouldn't be happening in most cases. That's kinda why I think adding something for injuring survivors with frenzy would be good.
-
The only time I got interested in a franchise from a license chapter is Silent Hill.
-
The only thing I can think of is Legion getting something for injuring multiple survivors during a frenzy. Maybe faster vaulting or break speed.

Getting tokens while in chase is just a win win for the killer.
Currently, if a survivor has Distortion the killer may have to use other means of tracking (I started playing when there was only BBQ and Nurses - killers did fine).
If tokens only fill in chase, then if the killer doesn't get value from their aura perks there's no need for them to go out of their way to do anything at all. Either the survivor loses all tokens (which happens pretty fast with full aura builds) and the killer starts to see them. Or the survivor comes to the killer to initiate chase. So the killer doesn't actually have to make any effort at all. They get to just wait for the survivor to come to them.
IMO aura perks already prevent alot of players from developing game sense (BBQ&Chilli brain is a thing) and Distortion probably does you a favour by making you fall back on the old fashion ways of tracking down survivors via patrolling gens and following scratch marks. It also doesn't prevent you from getting some value from your aura perks unless you happen to get a rare team of full Distortion users.
I don't really understand what your saying about the bbq and nurses part. Are you saying you played when the only aura reading was nurses and BBQ? Cause distortion till darkness among us and didn't become problematic till they reworked it.
Ok am I missing something why is everyone saying full aura builds so often? Are they actually that common? And if it is why is it a problem on any killer that isn't S tier and a few A tiers? I can understand why it's a problem on nurse but that isn't aura reading being too strong that's just nurse.
Anyway the idea of losing all your tokens that fast implies either your team is already losing by a lot and BBQ is consuming stacks or the killer is dedicating their build to aura reading and have 0 slowdown.
This is more a question of fun but what exactly is fun for survivors if they don't want to get chased? I actually do want to know cause I don't see why you would want to sit on a gen the entire time or hide. Obviously there are times where you want to hide instead but enough times to justify distortion to stay as is?
Game sense only works if the play makes sense. Hiding in a corner or a locker for the entire game isn't logical at all. Distortion also kills perk variety which, needless to say, isn't really much.

For the blindness part: Even if you made it work on hooks It wouldn't really be that bad. It wouldn't be great obviously since it completely blocks BBQ and Chili but I don' think it would be that crazy. Also maybe it's cause I haven't played survivor recently, but what exactly was the issue with Ultimate Weapon's blindness? Besides the frequency of course.
The most annoying part of UW for me is blind the ability to see slugged and hooked teammates. Unlike killers, I dont mind if it blocks 30 aura perks.
For the Hinder hunting part: I'm sorry I didn't read that correctly that is my bad. While it doesn't hinder the killer's ability to hunt other survivors, what exactly is preventing all the survivors from bringing distortion?
Then the game become 3v12 perks. If killers use more than 1 aura perk and have 4 Distortion, its killers' fault.
For the Patrol Gens part: You say that but it doesn't work as easily as it sounds. Most killers have a 32 meter radius which gives survivors time to hide
I always love seeing killers say survivors can walk away when the visual heart beat starts to show you. But no one ever think about if survivors keep leaving Gen when 32m TR starts, they dont do Gens which is definitely killer's advantage.
Average maps' size is ~9000m square, 32m TR is ~3000m square. Covering about 1/3 the map.
Blindness: I see so your bothered by the blindness for slugged and hooked. That's understandable.
Hinder Hunting: So because of 1 perk an entire build can be useless. You don't see an issue with that?
Patrol Gens: I don't think "killers" who say to walk away when they see the hearbeat say to do it every single time. At least I'm not saying that. Also assuming that no one is found that would be beneficial to survivors cause they aren't all sitting on the same gen. If they do get found then the others can do gens while one gets chased. I don't see how this can be bad for survivors in these situations.
Average size of a map isn't really reliable given how varied the map sizes are.

I dont think you understand, it's not about stalling to hold the game hostage, it's about stalling in a way that can afford you the time to bleed the Survivors out, which this playstyle already affords enough time to do.
The match wont last for an hour, obviously, but at the same time, it will last more than long enough for the Survivor's bleed-out timer to fully deplete, which is the intent behind this playstyle, to stall long enough for the Survivors to bleed out.
Bleed out? I think I got something wrong. What are we talking about? We are talking about a 3 gen situation with the new oppression right? How is it getting to bleed out? I'm genuinely confused.
-
I mean I'd prefer boil over and flip flop being less usable if it means I don't have to slug/get slugged because the hook is gone.
-
Am I missing something or is this just bad overall? Selecting guards is really nice but everything else isn't really good. They also didn't say anything about the ai.

Except, we have this addon, for a Killer that already has area denial.
Claw Traps have a duration for 45 seconds, and can be extended by an extra 15% on top of that. Oppression having a 40 second cooldown means youll most likely give them a difficult Skill Check while they cannot hear Skill Check audio.
And Idk if you remember the whole "Chess Merchant vs Team Eternal" situation, but even experienced players miss Skill Checks sometimes.
I don't think I've ever had a match where I've played against a skull merchant and did a gen with a trap on me that was active but maybe that's just me.
I guess the addon could be problematic but I think there is a more obvious problem in this case that being skull merchant.
Also this isn't really a reason more something that I'd like to point out, but realistically in a 3 gen situation, the killer can't manage 3 gens and not reach the anti 3 gen limit even with skull merchant and that addon. Obviously it won't be fun and it will be way to long, but it is possible to beat.

Doesn't Residual Manifest do what you just described with a flashlight? If the match started without aura reading it's rough but otherwise, once you look around, it's not too difficult to remember.
The perk blinds you when you're in chase with RM survivor. Your goal is to hit them, not seeing other survivors or Gen's aura.
My point made is the blindness happens when you just hook a survivor, its the moment you need to find Gens to patrol and survivors to hunt.
I mean. It does hinder the killer from hunting the survivor. You can't find them.
Let's try again, slowly: A survivor using Distortion does not hinder killers ability to hunt other survivors.
Not having aura reading on killer is a problem . You don't see survivor where are you gonna go?
Patrol Gens that you know there are progression on it. Gen's aura is basekit for killer.
For the blindness part: Even if you made it work on hooks It wouldn't really be that bad. It wouldn't be great obviously since it completely blocks BBQ and Chili but I don' think it would be that crazy. For the Patrol Gens part: You say that but it doesn't work as easily as it sounds. Most killers have a 32 meter radius which gives survivors time to hide. There is also the issue that a lot of maps have big gen spread, which, I get why but it doesn't really make finding survivors that were doing gens simple if your using a lot of time finding a survivor that might not even be there. Survivors also have a 3rd person view while killer has a 1rst person view. Survivor can hide behind objects and see the killer while killer has a more limited view and can't see things as well.
-
Oppression isn't that crazy if you hit the skill checks. I will say I am worried about the potential of the games lasting a long time.
Dragon's Grip I h100% agree it's worrying but it definitely needs to be tested in PTB.
-
I don't think darkness revealed is still going to be worth running. I never have seen this perk do anything significant because of locker placements.
I feel like I'm all ear's counters distortion if it's paired with another aura reading perk as opposed to distortion countering I'm all ears.

Ultimate weapon disable a quater of survivors' perks. PLUS the basekit slugged and hooked teammates.
Give survivor a perk that after being hooked, gives killer blindness for 30sec and killers will see how much a pain when basekit aura get removed.
For Distortion.
A survivor using Distortion does not hinder killers ability to hunt other survivors. It requires all of them use Distortion to make killer cant use aura perks. But even then, killers use 4 aura perk is not survivors' fault.
The aura reading from killers is NOT that much of the problem, its that survivors who dont use Distortion DONT have a clue that they're being wall hacked. And constantly being the target if they're the only one not using Distortion.
Its survivors who should complain about Distortion, not killers.
Ultimate Weapon is assuming that the survivor is even in range.
Doesn't Residual Manifest do what you just described with a flashlight? If the match started without aura reading it's rough but otherwise, once you look around, it's not too difficult to remember.

Not having aura reading on killer is a problem . You don't see survivor where are you gonna go? Your going to stay where you know 1 is and 1 will (probably) show up. The hook. I can see how not having distortion could be a problem if your being targeted specifically which is why I prefer the idea of distortion getting tokens back while in chase. It would prevent the people who ONLY hide and don't do gens from hiding all game and would make situations of getting targeted less of a problem.
Both sides have problems with distortion not just survivor.

100% iron will wasn't that insane back then. It obviously is strong but it still has the exhaustion condition so I think it'll be fine.

The "it's fine because it doesn't do anything if the survivor didn't bring an item" argument falls apart when you flip the script.
Imagine survivors had a perk that punished - not just denied, but actively served as a detriment towards the killer for bringing addons.
The excuse of "it doesn't do anything if the killer doesn't bring addons" is just as silly.
Items/addons are literally the only things of value we get for BP.
It also punishes survivors for interacting with chests, which again if you flipped it around would be a bit like punishing the killer for playing nice and not tunneling/camping. Survivors are actually doing something besides a generator, I do not want to punish them for that.
While I get the logic with what your saying, comparing addons to items isn't really a good comparison. From my view, items aren't a necessity to win even at the higher levels of skill. For some killers, without addons, the chances of them winning is essentially 0 even at lower levels of skill.
I'm also not saying you can't use the item ever. You can use a medkit and put it down in a corner after healing or a toolbox right before it goes away.
Your last point seems like an issue with objective speeds not the perk combo.
-
I'm still struggling to understand why some people say it's too strong with franklins. Yeah it's a good combo but the survivor can just put the item in a corner or not bring an item at all and then the killer has 2 perks.
-
I wouldn't say it's cringe but it is a little annoying.

Didnt they literally say something to the effect of its usage is too high and its too easy to use?
Wheres the patch notes? It was a dev comment.
They said the usage was too high for pain resonance and the "too easy to use" one for pop and deadlock. For deadlock, Tbf, it literally just activates on it's own. Pop and Pain resonance though I somewhat agree it's dumb.

Its not really a problem because nobody is forcing you to bring aura perks the killer player is choosing to do that and some people will bring distortion in response and there's nothing wrong with that, it's not broken or unhealthy some people just need to take the training wheels off and gain some actual game sense instead of relying on the same build every match, in case nobody knew there are a whole lot of good perks that don't rely on aura people could be running but they're simply choosing not to so I don't feel a bit bad for them
If it's not a problem, why do so many people say it is and have visual proof of it being a problem from the perspective that the game is a 4v1.
I don't think it's broken but it 100% is unhealthy. It literally makes a decent amount of players choose to hide all game, which, encourages people to give up and hook because they can see a teammate doing nothing, it encourages the killer to camp and (somewhat) tunnel because they can't find other survivors, and for the killer side, you literally are only walking around and checking lockers if the survivor hide.
What exactly do you consider training wheels? You suggest aura reading as one but what else because under the context that certain perks are training wheels cause they help the killer in a certain way, that could be said for a lot of perks, aura reading or not.
Game sense, from my experience, doesn't really help in these cases because it doesn't make sense to hide all game and game sense usually requires something to go off on. If they don't touch gens you can really say they are there or not. If they also have calm spirit, then you can't rely on crows (even though crows aren't really the most reliable thing to begin with), and there are a lot of lockers in some maps.
-
I think they should increase the amount of tokens maybe to 5 in exchange for it to only be rechargeable in chase cause it's pretty obvious that this perk isn't healthy.
-
Pretty much every killer needs changes, but the one's that need reworks are Freddy, Skull Merchant, and Knight.
-
Not really. The anti 3 gen mechanic kinda made it pretty bad. You could pair it with other regression perks and it would be decent but even then, it still isn't really worth it over other regression perks. Distortion is also common so the aura reading isn't reliable.

@Devil_hit11 said:
it would lower his skill-cap into old version of pyramid head. You would just shoot at animation locks such as Windows or pallet vaults until survivor goes down. The survivor cannot dodge if they're animation locked
This used to be a problem with pyramid head because he had no cooldown for going outside of his power, so what would happen is pyramid head would put his sword on the floor, then as survivor goes through pallet, if he doesn't drop it, you m1, if he does drop it, you hit survivor with m2.
Deathslinger's problem is too much counter-play on shooting his gun from long range. What is the point of being long range killer if long ranged shots are easiest shots to side-step because of travel time+charge time?
I mean. You can still kinda do that. All that change really did was make it awkward to use Pyramid Head's power.
-
We literally don't know anything besides that it's d&d. tbh I don't expect the killer to be amazing but I'm definitely thinking that the perks are gonna be very unique and fun.
-
I mean I don't know about the majority but I don't really complain about survivors quitting that much when I play killer compared to when I play survivor. In fact I usually see survivors complain more often than killer.
-
This is such a weak mid chapter.
Survivors using DS aggressively is gonna suck. Haddonfield still seems unfun for both sides. Ultimate weapon getting nerfed sucks but makes sense but It definitely was too much. Twins getting QoL buffs is nice but they still have the same gameplan to slug everyone.
-
The power is pretty boring, her sound design is annoying, and she isn't the easiest to learn.
-
Yeah this version of UW seems pretty bad. 32 meter is ok but on most maps it's not that good. Also I don't think the devs said they reduced the cooldown from the ptb version so it might still have a really long cooldown.
-
So lets see..
Twins: I mean I get it right. It was bad but it's crazy to me that this was planned for more than a year and it basically all is gone. Reminds me of the time with the whole ui thing.
Blight: I mean sure I guess. This seems kinda bad but it is blight so I'm sure they'll do fine.
Decisive Strike: I've said this before and I'll say it again. This change won't do much against the stronger killers and only will do anything against weaker killers which will definitely reduce the variety of played killers even if it's just a little. It also can still absolutely be used aggressively which isn't good at all.
Ultimate Weapon: Bro this perk is so weak now. It doesn't say the perk duration and cooldown was changed so I'm also assuming it has a 60 sec cooldown still. It also has a range of 32 which isn't terrible but that isn't that big. The current version is too good, the ptb version is too good on strong killers, and now this version just is bad.
I find it odd that there was no haddonfield changes considering how many people complained about it.
-
I think it can but it would be pretty hard to do.
-
It is very large. Also I don't get this but people are saying that there is no good loops even though there are at least 6 loops just from the top of my head that consistently spawn and are good.
-
I agree with all except the last one. That feels unnecessary.
-
@GeneralV said:
Badham Preschool 1 is okay, as that map still has the original layout.
But the others are pretty terrible, yeah.
I disagree. The loops and size are still really strong for survivors, the main building is the same size and contains essentially the same pallets and window no matter the iteration, and the fences and walls are still long. I don't think any of the badhams are ok.
-
Those addons aren't good, the numbers are way too small and it doesn't last long enough to mean much. Is it lazily designed? Yes, but they aren't impossible to go against.
-
Forced Hesitation: could use a slightly bigger range but other that it's fine.
Machine Learning: It's not good. It can activate when you down someone and can essentially provide 0 value, it doesn't last long enough to have that great of an effect, and it kinda encourages you to lose gens even though you have to kick it for it to activate. It could be strong if they buffed it but they have to be careful with that since it is a haste perk.
Genetic Limits: They could make it so it lasts a really long time but that would make the majority of exhaustion perks on both sides pointless. I think they are better off reworking the perk into a different effect.
-
It's a hex perk. They kinda are suppose to be strong because you can just get rid of it permanently. The killer can also literally lose it in the first 30 seconds of the match.
-
It kinda was although it wasn't what the majority of people had a problem with DS was. Tbh like a lot of others are saying, 5 sec DS helps against the weaker killers but not the stronger ones. This is only reducing the variety of killers.
-
I don't really get why people are saying this perk is dead. It still is really good.
-
Twins changes is definitely healthier than current Twins, though it still seems like slugging is the gameplan? Charlotte gets faster when someone has victor attached but Victor gets attached only via down and victor can't be kicked after a successful hit. Unless I'm missing something they didn't really fix the issue. Obviously this needs to be tested.
The blight changes I can't really say anything on because I don't know how much more Improved it is.
Haddonfield changes I need to see to know if it's better.
Decisive Strike isn't really that good of a change. It'll help against weaker killers sure but against S tier killers it doesn't do much. This seems to happen very often with balance changes. This feels like UB + DS is gonna come back.
Adrenaline is mostly good. I kinda wish they made it so dropping a survivor doesn't activate adrenaline but that's a minor gripe.
Ultimate Weapon I don't really know how to feel. It's definitely healthier but it is gonna make Distortion so much more common and that perk doesn't really encourage the most interactive gameplay. It also feels weird that they don't make screaming just not interrupt actions since the screaming isn't an issue with just ultimate weapon. I'm definitely gonna try it out during PTB cause I don't know how good 15 seconds is for killers that aren't S tier.
The pip thing is fine. Literally only helps with getting to iri 1.
And finally the store. I mean. Is it just me or is this game looking more and more like a mobile game? Cause it really feels like it to me. They even added a free gift thing similar to most modern mobile games. Maybe it's just me idk.
-
Not excited but I am curious how much they're gonna change.
-
I wonder why they are taking so long for swamp rework. Either way the road having more pallets is nice, though they did choose loops that have no real mindgame. The map being smaller is nice but I wonder how much smaller.
-
The unlicensed killers that I would say needs a buff the most is Legion, Trapper, and Knight.
Legion - Putting a survivor in injured is nice but it clearly isn't enough. Maybe legion gets a buff for more survivors injured like faster kick speed? They would need a longer cooldown in that case.
Trapper - I honestly think Trapper just needs better trap spots/trap cover. It's way too easy to see traps. They could add more grass on some maps or some kind of stuff on the ground. They also could add some kind of base kit camo for the traps, though that would be difficult since you would have to make different camos for a lot of different maps. Also, better trap spawns.
Knight - Fix guard ai. Make map of the realm base kit. That's all I can think of.

It would not need this treatment. The difference is that Lethal Pursuer is active only for a few seconds, while Corrupt Intervention is potentially active for 2 minutes, but at the very least most likely 30 seconds, which is a lot longer than Lethal Pursuer.
Also, Lethal Pursuer "only" shows the Aura, while Corrupt Intervention makes Survivors move and lets them not spend time on a Gen for at least a few seconds, maybe even more depending on their Spawn and their routing.
In it's current state I agree. I do wish they reworked it though cause you potentially could just have this perk active for 20 seconds and that's it. I would absolutely trade 40 seconds for a secondary effect.
