  • I didn't play during the majority of the gen kick meta days so I can only say from what I saw and gens were definitely still going pretty fast. Obviously against soloq it was a problem but soloq has survivors who struggle against freddy.

Lights out I'm kinda iffy on cause while it definitely was easier for killer, my god was it annoying to find the survivors sometimes. It took so long to find someone sometimes and I felt I was better off sitting near the hook. I don't really see why people would tunnel though given that they can just sit near the hook and go after the rescuer unless they weren't close enough. I'm also gonna assume that some killers aren't really good and can't tell how many gens are left so they could feel pressured to get someone out quick.

While I say all this, I agree that killer being the power role is definitely not a great idea and obviously neither side should be the power role. I think for camping they can fix it by simply making it so it takes longer to sacrifice the closer the killer is to the hook. While for tunneling I don't really know how to fix it but I'm fairly confident that punishing the killer for tunneling is gonna be worse then rewarding them not to tunnel.

  • He's fine for the most part. He could use some better/different addons and some buffs to absorption mode but that's it.

  • I'm pretty sure midwich does have a good amount of pallets, the only thing is that most of them aren't crazy good.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

    1. the swamp maps are really just giant dead zones
    2. wrecker's yard is so tiny you can quickly make it a dead zone
    3. every pallet on hawkins is garbage
    1. Swamp is also really big and has strong loops with the few it has.
    2. You would also be wasting a lot of time destroying pallets and it's not small to the point you can't hold w. There also is the fact that bus and shack exist on this map. There is also weird deadzones sometimes though.
    3. From my experience, it's either complete garbage pallets with a few decent ones or just a good amount of decent pallets with a few bad ones.
  • SoloQ is pretty bad, Lights out wasn't a good enough event, normally there is a decrease around the time of the ptb which I'm guessing is because burn out, and the mid chapter only had 1 appealing thing that being billy.

  • I mean how bad did the match go? If it was just completely one sided then that would be insulting rather then being nice.

  • I feel like making the anti facecamp a anti-camping in general is a bad idea. It would be so hard to balance that.

  • Artist is pretty hard to play, her chase music is kinda annoying, and her power isn't really that unique/fun.

Dredge is reliant on maps that aren't loaded with loops and has access to lockers everywhere, his anti-loop is pretty lame, and he isn't strong.

billy rework causing a huge spike in hillbilly matches. Best counter = gideons bc pallet city and lots of objects to keep the killer from 1 shotting with chainsaw.

my best suggestion if you personally are tired of going to gideons is also play map offerings and hope yours was chosen.

I recently played billy on the game and it wasn't really that hard to deal with the pallets because of the chainsaw so I doubt that's the reason.

  • All it really needs is less of a hinder or shorter duration of hinder and it's fine. It's cooldown is pretty long as is.

  • The only issues I have with current sadako is that survivors can put tapes in way to quickly and that all the survivor has to do is take the tape near their gen and they essentially become immune to condemned. It feels way to easy to avoid condemned.

I mean just cause he sucks now doesnt mean you have to revert it back to broken cheese strats. You can make him better without him being frustrating to play against.

I mean it wasn't broken. People were still able to beat him because while he did zone really well, he took a long time in chase. He can use his power in a loop without high walls but how is that any different from huntress or trickster? If anything he's worse cause he would take longer for having to reel them in as oppose to being able to injure them from the other side. I also find it really odd when people say they don't like deathslinger or Pyramid Head zoning but are ok with huntress or demogorgon zoning. I'm not saying he has to have old ADS time but he definitely needs a faster ADS. He also needs some more stuff but that's slightly off topic.

  • @Jangles said:

You guys forget how annoying it was getting zoned by a deathslinger just tapping ADS.

Yeah but that was probably the only thing that he was good at. Now he doesn't really have anything.

  • It's not a bannable offense so killers who slug till bleed out won't get banned. There is also the issue that sometimes, the killer kind of has to slug until bleed out.

  • While I agree that Nemesis needs to get some stuff, I feel like there are multiple other killers who need it more such as: Freddy, Myers, Twins, (Current) Sadako, and Deathslinger.

To be honest, while I'd much rather Nemesis get a full rework (giving him a new power) I doubt that the devs are gonna do that. The only thing I can think of for Nemesis right now is new addons, fix zombie ai, and maybe reduce/remove the speed boost from getting contaminated.

  • It's probably the second most toxic game I've played. Granted I haven't played much of the other toxic heavy games like league or rainbow six.

    "The community loves fun killers"

No, the community jumps onto whatever killer gives them the easiest time. Billy has literally no downside to being able to cross the map instantly and one-shot people even in relatively safe places against other killers.

It was PAINFULLY obvious when they nerfed him, and that whole cohort just jumped ship to Blight because he was the next most oppressive killer.

I mean the community loved old billy and old billy had carburetor tuning guide and old thompson mix.

Locker dodging Ultimate Weapon isn't as good as locker dodging other auras such as BBQ&Chili since you don't know if they have opened a locker unless you had direct line of sight. BBQ you know that once they pick up a survivor that you can jump in a locker since you know it is about to activate. Ultimate Weapon is also active for 30 whole seconds, so to dodge it you have to sit in a locker for 30 secs to guarantee that it doesn't find you. It outclasses other info perks because it's activation condition doesn't require progression of the game and it bypasses aura blocking. Calm spirit is the only way to consistently play around it and that is not a perk folks should have to run.

So I don't really go against killers that run ultimate weapon that often so this could just be luck, but from my experience, some killers will not go to the gen but rather close enough for the gen to be in their terror radius. So if someone gets hooked then wait a few seconds doing a gen or whatever your doing, go into locker, wait for terror radius to come and go, then go back to the gen or whatever. Chances are that they aren't gonna come back for the remainder of ultimate weapon. And as I said before, they still have to actually get you. I can't count how many times a survivor was able to loop and play well but still chose to hide and waste time and potentially getting the weak link killed.

  • You simply asked to explain the counterplay. You didn't say it had to be good. And like I said in the previous post, they still have to actually get you.

  • Calm spirit and hiding in lockers. There is also the fact that the killer still has to actually get you.

  • From my experience, DS is pretty inconsistent in value. You go down somewhere that has pallets or windows and you have something to work with after stunning the killer but if there is nothing then all you did was waste a few seconds for the killer. I do want all perks to be usable both for killer and survivor but DS feels incredibly hard to balance with how it's designed.

  • If there are 4 toolboxes. I don't want to play a 3 min game.

  • Glad Haddonfield is getting changed. That map feels so bad.

Genetic Limits I'm guessing is just gonna be a number change and that's it which is fine. This is not happening is a little worrying if they just do a number change considering hyperfocus is a thing. I have no idea what they're gonna do with distressing.

The fact that Blight is being added on there is kinda funny to me at the same time, I hope they don't gut the killer. I don't really like playing blight but I know a lot of people do. Outside of nerfing his speed and removing his techs, I don't really know how they can change the killer, but if they do either of those changes I feel like he would just become boring.

    This.

The only problem with Adrenaline is the fact that it wakes you up against Freddy, but other than that it is a perfect perk.

It doesn't need to be changed.

I don't know man. A survivor getting off a hook completely healthy is kinda...

  • No. I kinda expected them to nerf something for sadako before she came to live. Tbh I also expected billy to be nerfed to but miraculously he didn't.

  • To play as: He is weak but he is fun. The mismatched animation with memento blades bothers me but that's a bug. I also wish he was stronger but I don't really know how you would do that without him being straight up unfair.

To play against: He is pretty boring. I don't really know how you would fix him outside of a complete rework but that would change his power completely.

  • So they nerfed Onryo even more even though she clearly was on the lower end of the killers in the ptb? Huh? What? Why?

They nerfed Blights iri tag and compound 33 which is understandable though I'm pretty sure no one is gonna run compound 33 anymore cause it's too weak now, but why is adrenaline vial buffed again?

The changes to the hillbilly's addons feel kinda pointless. In the Ptb at no point did I think that overdrive was going away too fast or I couldn't keep the meter up.

STBFL change I'm really glad that they changed that, but it still doesn''t actually fix the issue with camping/tunneling with it. All this did is just reduce how many people will use it outside of tunneling. Quick Gambit is still kinda not good. You could run bond with it and see the survivors so that you can force value, but you could also just be in area where they're are no pallets which causes you to go down and potentially given less time/gen progression for the other survivors by trying to force Quick Gambit.

Overall really weird and bad changes from the PTB. I think the only real good one in all of this is the iri tag change and somewhat the STBFL change.

Back then, Ruin was meta and you couldn't stop them from cleansing the totem. Survivors could also heal in your face or simply cancel falling asleep infinitely by missing skill checks. This made Self-Care a hard counter to Freddy because it meant pretty much on demand skill checks when you were injured.

You can argue that it wasn't very effective because you wouldn't finish healing but this still meant that Freddy wouldn't even be able to hit you. So he couldn't down you either.

I think he could also be safely bodyblocked from hooks but I'd need someone else (@GeneralV, I summon thee) to confirm this.

Couldn't they just have made it so dream transition prevented interactions besides vaults and pallet drops?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Several things.

He was pretty weak, because you could not hit Survivors unless you pull them in the Dream first. And this took some time (a few seconds). And Skill Checks would wake Survivors up, so a Survivor could fail a Skill Check on a Gen while being pulled in the dream and you would need to do it again. Or they could fail a Skill Check with Self-Care (which was very, very popular back then because it was not nerfed into Oblivion) mid-chase so that Freddy had to pull them into the Dream again.

He also provided a lot of Slowdown, making it really unfun to go against, because you had to wake up 100%, since otherwise you had a Slowdown of 50% on everything. Nowadays it is still better to be awake against Freddy, even tho being awake also feels kinda pointless because you can be set back to sleep pretty quickly.

And another thing was that many Freddy-players just used Endgame-Builds. Because in Endgame it was way harder to wake up (no Gens anymore to fail Skill Checks on and if everyone was asleep, they could also not wake you up). And IMO this was pretty lame back then, because most players would play Freddy perkless until Endgame and then just try to stomp during Endgame with NOED and other Endgame-Perks.

The Rework moved Freddy to a better state strengthwise, but made him too easy to play and too rewarding. Which resulted into Nerfs to the current Kit. And nowadays, he is not really strong, still easy to play, but also very, very dull.

And in retrospect, I am pretty sure that they could have kept the original Kit and add a few things to it (e.g. Clocks and Teleport), remove other things (big Slowdown) and work from that point.

Ok so I didn't know that the survivors could fail skill checks DURING the dream transition. I figured that they wouldn't be able to do anything during the transition besides movement stuff (walking, running, vaulting, etc.).

Like I said to another person, The slowdown part definitely was a lot.

Isn't endgame builds fine though? I get why noed is a pain but no other endgame perk is that strong, especially cause no way out or terminus didnt exist.

That's what I didn't understand. It didn't seem that hard to make him better and the fact that they changed him to just have slowdown and a teleport seems kinda... boring.

  • @anarchy753 said:

When you found a survivor, you had to tag them with your power, and then wait 7 seconds before you could interact with them in any way, including both hitting and bodyblocking. So by the time they were in the dream world, they were almost always safely next to a pallet, or at a strong loop. From that point, your power did nothing, so you were the most basic M1 killer, just on a long delay.

Outside of 1(?) add on, survivors didn't go to sleep by themselves, you had to manually find all of them and apply it, though it tended to last more because they HAD to fail skill checks to leave.

Outside of a chase, your power was just a debilitating slowdown. It was powerful, but made playing against Freddy tedious. Even if you were doing well, it wasn't particularly fun, like every game with a Legion, but seeing the killer less often.

I can definitely see the game not being fun for the survivors, but was it really that bad that they had to rework Freddy? It just seems like they could have just given him more in dream world, like faster breaking or vaulting for each survivor asleep. Obviously they would have to give reduce the slower gen speed.

  • @Xernoton said:

7 seconds of survivor god mode from what I've seen.

But wouldn't the 7 seconds of god mode be counteracted by the fact that the survivors do gens really slow or giving a 10% regression to wake up? I didn't read anything about freddy's power that said it had a cooldown so I'm assuming you could have just done a sort of hit and run style and put someone to sleep and go to someone else.

  • It's not an exploit more so just a massive oversight from the devs so I doubt anything will happen. I rarely get these type of players but man does it suck to get them.

  • The problem with no ADS time was that you could just spam m2 which would make it so survivor's lose a lot of distance. For some reason they chose to increase the pick up time for Deathslinger instead of the time to put down the gun or even just making deathslinger really slow while aiming.

  • Make it 4 seconds stun. It's been a while since we had 5 sec stun DS but from what I remember 5 sec was too much. It also still has the issue of being used aggressively like Off the Record so I don''t know if that's really the way to go.

  • Out of all the killers specifically? I'd say 10. Obviously, Freddy really needs a rework again, but I really want Myers to be reworked. He feels so outdated. The only reason I wouldn't say Myers NEEDS a rework right now is because people actually like Myers while Freddy... there are some Freddy Enjoyers but the vast majority of people don't like him, both playing against and as the The Nightmare.

  • Bodyguard: Assuming they won't ever try to do anything potentially harmful to me, I would say Wesker.

Party Friend: Vittorio. He probably has seen a lot of stuff both good and bad so it would be interesting to listen to what has experienced. It would also be neat to show stuff he doesn't know about in the modern world.

  • I doubt they will, but I hope they bring back old Call Of Brine. It's such a useless perk right now.

  • Ok so:

3 Gen: I don't really keep count how often I regress the same generator but I think 8 times is fine.

Onryo: If I'm reading this correctly, tunneling as onryo seems kinda strong which I'm worried about.

Hillbilly: I'm glad billy is getting buffed! Overdrive seems a bit weird.

Blight: I'm glad these are getting changed! I don't really know how good increased turning is though. I don't play blight but I don't really want another killer with almost no good addons (Freddy, Pyramid Head, Demogorgon, etc.)

Perks: Stbfl change is wack. This feels like a nerf to the weaker killers and that's it. Grim Embrace is great. I always wanted to use this perk since it incentives going for everyone for a good effect similar to no way out and old bbq. Quick gambit is a bit worrying given current gen speeds. Ruin got the wrong thing changed.

Ormond: To my understanding this map got buffed?! I hope not.

  • Nurse - I get really bad headaches and nausea.

Elodie - I currently play on pc but when the twins and elodie came out I played on the switch. Safe to say i don't like hearing her scream anymore.

  • For me the majority of my killer games feel a bit sweaty but for some reason, even though I don't play Wesker as much as my other killers, my Wesker games have been extremely sweaty even before and after they changed the MMR.

While my survivor games have been extremely easy and for some reason almost never go against any nurse, blight, or wesker's.

I seriously don't get how the MMR works.

  • His base throwing speed does feel bad but with the new memento blades its actually kind of ok. Still not great but better.

Yeah PH, Artist and Nemi's zombies can still hit them. And depending on where they are you can also stalk them. Idk if you can Tombstone them, but it would be very funny.

Apparently Bubba can get them too. I don't know how but I'm guessing tantrum.

  • I've had the same thing on Midwhich. Seems to not matter what map it is. Guess I'm gonna play pyramid head for a while.
