And evidence of this:
recent match, prime example of the working matchmaking. Me and a friend (yellow ranks) with two red ranks. Saloon. Basement in shack.
Friend gets hooked in basement. hag puts down all of her traps. Kindred is active, meaning the red ranks saw this, and saw me crouching by the window. red rank A gets hag to chase them. instead of B crouching of letting me crouch downstairs, they run through most of the traps. Hag downs them, A comes in, triggers the remaining traps, gets downed as well.
Had they crouched through the traps they knew were there (due to kindred) hag would probably not have been able to put down any other traps for the rest of the match. The hag agreed to that in the aftermath chat. red ranks were absurdly salty and blame the killer and us on losing.
If Hag lays more than 10 traps it causes her oldest trap to despawn. Even if you had gotten the save out of the basement she could have just continued laying new traps.
I had a console Hag do this a few months ago: she put 19 traps in the basement. We all saw it with Kindred. I ran in, took a lap to set off all her traps, took a hit, and ran out. Poor Lisa chased me out of the basement, and my teammates ran in for the save. All 4 escaped.
Otzdarva posted a vid some time back in which he placed all 10 traps in the basement of Badham's main building. He was using the addon that greatly increased the trap's range, so when he tricked a hapless Blendette into jumping down the hole into the room she set off all 10 traps at once. Now that is some quality content.

I think people can use whatever they want? I personally don't use NOED or moris. I feel like they cheapen a win. The most I use is devour hope for instadowns and that's very rarely. Survivors can also use whatever they want. Doesn't mean I won't talk about how they're broken in some regards.
Devour is a great perk for when I'm feeling spicy.
You rarely get more than one or two insta-downs before it's cleansed, but the moment where you insta-down your first survivor and all of your opponents soil themselves is pretty precious.
-
I wouldn't say the game is survivor sided. I regularly stomp on SWFs, and most solo teams don't stand a chance.
Playing killer is just generally harder, because you have to juggle 4 people at once and don’t get any 80 second breaks where you're holding M1 on a gen. It's also more fun and you get more BP for doing it, especially if you bring BBQ into every match.

Is It a coincidence that all of the deadliest maps happen to also be indoor maps
Not even slightly. No sightlines from gens mean survivors can't tell where the killer is coming from. Yhis is great for all killers, but makes stealth killers especially 10x more powerful.
It's also harder for survivors to find gens and more prone to getting lost. Killers can still use gen auras to orient themselves.
Indoor maps also tend to be smaller, which is a major boon to killers.
Finally, indoor maps have fewer super-safe "God pallets".

Honestly I might actually do this cos 95% of my games undying gets broken first and I’m done with it at this point
Ditto here. It's rare for me to see Ruin/Undying last for more than 3 minutes, and then I'm down 2 perks. I guess I'm still getting value out of it though since I'm winning so many matches, and since survivor mains haaaaate that combo.
I might give Surge another try. Ijust hate that it only eorks with basic attacks. Surge is weak enough as it is without having so many requirements.

I was with you until OoO. I'd consider that just as fine and fair play as anything else in the game. Much like SWF in general, its ceiling is very high in the right hands. If you have a god looper with excellent game knowledge in a four-man SWF and the killer isn't a stealth killer, sure, they can do some damage. Most of the time, though, they don't check all of those boxes and OoO just ends up getting them killed early. That's probably why the devs have said they don't think it's as broken as some people seem to think.
Dead Hard, Adrenaline, and DS all bother me more as killer than OoO, with the notable exception of when I'm playing as Trapper against a four-man SWF. Still, I wouldn't consider any of them broken. They're all just strong. OoO has a massive downside to go with its massive upside, especially against stealth killers, and it also isn't going to stop a snowball once it gets going in the way that the other perks I mentioned can . Once you have the upper hand in a match, survivors often know exactly where you even without OoO but they will still struggle to break your pressure.
Every time I get a survivor with OoO they feel the need to Tbag me from the opposite side of the map. At this point I feel like bringing it is just an open act of hostility towards the killer or a sign that you're going against a SWF SWAT team that REALLY hates losing. Or both. I wouldn't mind the perk if people used it with its original intent in mind, but it always ends up as a vehicle for BM or unbalanced team tactics.
Survivors hate going against moris and NOED? I get it. It's part of the reason I don't use those things. But killers hate going against Object.
-
It does? I mean it gives you exhaustion, so you can't use your other perks until the cooldown is over.
-
You know you're not permanently locked into a single role, right? Most of us killer mains ALSO play survivor. We mostly don't whinge about perks like DS/UB/DH because we often use them ourselves. Our only real complaint about DS is that it lasts too long, and personally I don't actually mind the 60 seconds of invilnerability.
We use powerful perks at high ranks because everyone else is using powerful perks. We're trying to play the game to the highest levels of our skill against similarly skilled opponents.
OoO is a special exception. Along with keys and moris (and maybe NOED) it's a nuclear option that radically alters the way the game is played and saps the fun from matches.
Instead of complaining about killer players you could just try playing killer. See if you feel the same way after you see the game from both perspectives.
-
Blight because *boink boink boink smack!*
-
You can still pip when playing with root vegetables. Just focus less on survival and more on having fun. If you carry the team, great. If not, it's still fun to have good chases and do your best for the remedial squad.
-
Legion is slower than other high-speed killers because he can fast-vault windows and pallets.
Part of playing Legion well is knowing if you have the range to actually catch up to a survivor you see with Killer Instinct. Remember that even if you can't catch up to them just knowing where they are is valuable information for later.
-
Okay bye Felicia
-
Thanks to the new sound bug (unless it's a shadow nerf disguised as a bug) she's super easy to play against right now. You can hear her location when she's phasing.
Just... calm down.
Deep breaths.
-
Uhhhh... what do you expect the devs to do about people with bad internet? Ban them from playing?
Finding the perfect balance in an asymmetric game with loads of RNG is impossible, but the devs continue to improve and get closer to the mark. Their stats from a few days ago show that the average kill rate at all ranks is 56%, bery close to their stated goal that the average match should be a 2k.
Latency issues suck, but they're a problem in every online multiplauer game. And as a killer main allow me to assure you that killers suffer from latency issues as well.
-
I'm going to echo a lot of the people here and say tier 1 Myers. It doesn't even have to be Scratched Mirror. Every time I see an undetectable Myers come around a corner and start looking at me I freak out and run away crying for mommy.
I also had a killer match recently where I was carrying someone to a hook and someone hit me qith a Hrad On save out of a completely random out-of-the-way locker. It actually made me jump out of my seat. After the match I chastised them for jump-scaring the killer. That's not how this is supposed to work!

A player, Ayrun, made a video showing a silly combo that lets a team of three pick a fourth off the ground faster than the killer can clean their weapon.
It's cool, and fun, but kinda broken. But I was saying up top it seems to need so much effort to work it's only worth it for the memes.
Ah got ya. I'm guessing it's 4 WGLF and the full menagerie of healing perks.
In that case, in order to use this strategy they'll have to group up and all play together. This is always a blessing for the killer. Survivors who split up are always scarier than survivors who try to squad up and run as a pack.
Spread out the damage. Take advantage of their playstyle. Get as many injures as possible. Slug liberally and get multiple slugs going at once. I don't like to camp or recommend other people camp, but if every survivor is clustering around the hook then it's not really camping, now is it?
I haven't seen anyone trying out this combo but if it's anything like the For The People/WGLF/Soul Guard combo I've been seeing a lot of they're basically gift wrapping the game for you so they can meme around. Enjoy your present.

No, the problem is there's no indication of when it is safe.
This is why locker juking a Bubba is now a bad idea. His tantrum duration changes based on how many chainsaw charges he used, so you can't really "know the timing".
-
Is this the one about healing o the ground with WGLF? Because if they're using it you could just not slug.
If it's just really fast heals you could counter it with a killer with insta-downs. Or an addon that gives you insta-downs. Or a perk that gives you insta-downs. Or Plague. Or Legion/Deathslinger's Deep Wound status, which isn't affected by healing buffs. Or Nurse, who gives no s**ts about survivors trying to quickly heal on the other side of a pallet/window.
-
It constantly boggles my mind how survivors seem laser-focused on using their toolboxes on the first gen, especially when I have Ruin and can negate all their progress. The number of kills I've gotten and games I've won because survivors refuse to give up on a specific gen is incalculable. Just yesterday I had someone DC right at the start of a match because I made him waste his BNP on the first gen.
Save your toolboxes! Use them tactically!
Farmer John had a hilarious game he posted to youtube a week ago where he hard-countered a 3 BNP gen rush thanks to Legion with Ruin/Undying. I can't get the link on my phone, but search notfarmerjohn youtube and find the video qith 3 BNPs in the pic. It's worth a watch for the comedy content.

...things are about to get dicey for their relationship though, since Clown has met Felix: a younger, more handsome fellow who's experience as an architect makes him inexplicably good at carnival games. Especially that one where you have to toss a ring onto bottles.
Will Clown's heart remain true? Will Adam become jealous seeing Clown stepping out with a dashing foreigner?
Find out next week on Dead by the Days of our Lives. No, wait, it's Days of our Deadlight. No no, it's Dead by Daylives.
...hang on. I can get this.
-
She needs more addons that relate her crouching/Dashing abilities. I also wish her hats (and Trapper's traps) were less RNG based. When survivors get all 4 hats off on their first try it feels like ny power's been crippled.
Other than that though I think she's in a pretty good place - and I used to think she was one of the worst killers in the game. Since then though I've gone against some scary good Rank 1 piggies and I've gotten pretty decent with her myself.
She's also the only killer bound by the Ancient Accords of Boop, obligated to release any survivor who honks her snoot. This legendary pact always tickles me as one of the more wholesome elements of the game.
-
Just now I had a Blight match against purple-ranked solo survivors with about 100 hours experience apiece. I am a rank 1 killer with 2k hours experience. I was also using Blight's Iri Blight Tag (his insta-down addon) after maining Blight since his release.
It would be sufficient to say that the match did not go well for them. I got at least 3 insta-downs and had such a blast that I happily gave the last survivor hatch. Then comes the post-game chat:
"Gg <3", I said.
"gg :(" one of them responds.
"Sadface?" I asked incredulously.
"You kinda f****d us," another quips.
"I hope you at least enjoyed getting f****d" was all I could think to say. This launched a long, animated, and friendly conversation in which they ultimately vowed to gain more experience and return for a rematch. I'll be waiting for you, mates.
-
Blendettes. I know that's not a perk, but every time I see a Blendie I say to myself, "Self care and Urban Evasion confirmed".
As killer I enjoy targeting Blendies. Not because I hate them, but because they're so easy to catch. Also, because I hate them.
-
Gotta be a bug.
Doc looks funny with the animation glitch BTW, but not as funny as Legion Myers, and especially Blight.
-
I know I've been playing him more. I need an occasional break from Blight.
Maybe not a big break, though. He'll be fine for a few matches, right? He's not gonna miss me or anything. But what if he's lonely?
Scoot over Myers. I love you, but you're getting between me and my true love.
-
Apparently it depends on which killer you play. I had that problem with Blight, but switched to Bubba and was fine. I've heard from others that Nurse works as well.
-
I actually love the rework. There's alot more to making a map look unique than giving it a color tint. The crumbling brick maze tiles look very distinct and I really like the wider window vaults.
The main buildings look a ton nicer as well.
-
I kove the update! I was afraid they were going to make MacMuffin really dark like Yamaoka and Badham, but everything seems perfectly cromulant. Everything looks really nice. Even Shelter Woods seems to have more stuff and less dead space.
-
It does seem weird that she has one of the highest kill rates given that she's legally bound by the Ancient Accords of Boop to let any survivor escape who scratches her nose.
-
This isn't really feasible TBH. Killers can't switch characters in the lobby anymore in preparation for the upcoming MMR matchmaking system. Because players will have a different MMR for each killer they will be matched to survivors with similar MMR for that character. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to still be able to swap killers in the lobby; if I see 4 medkits I could switch to Plague or a killer who can make good use out of Franklins. If I see a lobby with 4 toolboxes I can switch to Blight with Ruin/Undying and hard counter the inevitable gen rush.
I'd rather see a system for banning maps/realms. The new Sacrificial Ward (the offering that negates other map offerings) is really rare and hard to find, otherwise I'd be using it every match.
-
I've used it a bit as Bubba. It's funny to watch the Big Man yeet himself 20 meters, but I keep forgetting I have it and fooolming away from chainsaw-prone survivors.
I did go against a Blight who was using it. He got one hook all match and RQ. What a disservice to my favorite killer.

New perk:
Press the action button while injured to gain the Exhausted status effect for 60 seconds.
Secondary effect: none

Blight is on drugs. U never know what you'll get playing against him. I assume it's the same on the killer's side.
Blight isn't on drugs! How can you even say that?! His power is a euphoric "Rush" that makes him so energetic he bounces off of walls. Then once he comes down he becomes lethargic and gets the shakes. And then he needs to chase the dragon and keep injecting himself to get back that initial Rush.
Blight doesn't use drugs, QED.
...hey man,you got any serum?

No jaw? Six fingers? My mind is blown! 💜
I call it a Blightjob. Sometimes, if we're feeling extra frisky, we use Compound 21.
-
He's my new main. I love him. We're life partners.
You ever gotten a blowjob from a man with no jaw? And don't even get me started on what he can do with those 6 fingers.
-
As a rank 1 killer main I must declare that DH is not really an issue and can almost always be countered. It also doesn't bother me because it's the only skill-based exhaustion perk.
My question is why are they changing DH when OoO is still a thing that exists?
Kill it. Kill it with fire.
-
You may need to work on your trap placement, or you might be being watched while you set up traps. If survivors see you setting traps from hiding they'll always disarm them.
I run Whispers almost every Trapper match. If Whispers is off, you're safe to set up. If it's on, be wary of being watched.
Also make sure that your placement is good. I'm sure you know, but tall grass is always ideal. Survivors know to check pallets, doors, and windows for traps. If you're placing traps in obvious spots they're going to find them. Try to place your traps in bushes/grass where survivors run when looping pallets, not at the pallets themselves.
-
68% kill rate seems pretty reasonable, but I don't think kill rates are the best stat to be using to judge the game's balance. I'd rather the devs showed statistics on how many gens the survivors manage to complete.
As a killer main, I consider survivors to have "won" as a team if they finish all 5 gens and open an exit gate, even if I still get a 3k or 4k.
-
I literally just today had smoll pp build Bill call me Toxic for using Ruin/Undying, even though they got both my totems in about 3 minutes.
As the saying goes, people living in glass houses shouldn't throw meta perks.
-
So... not even one mention of Ormond?
That map that's almost 50% larger than both sheltered woods AND Midwich, and has so many safe pallets that you can't drop a pallet without it hitting a second pallet?
-
There's no way the devs are gonna release 5 new maps with every chapter in addition to balancing/updating older maps.
There's already over 30 different maps in the game. I think we've already got a respectable amount of variety.
-
Who is this clown? And no, I'm not talking about the killer.
Between the bottomed-out graphics settings, the stretched resolutions, and the graphics filters to increase brightness they look like they're playing cross-play on a Commodore 64. This is actually shameful. How can you claim to be any good at the game if you're using such massive crutches?
-
The amount of points you get per match may be dependent on which killer you play. The way the scoring system is set up, some killers just have a harder time earning BP.
Specifically, insta-down killers (Bubba, Billy, and Mikey), Trapper, and Plague get fewer scoring events. Doctor, Blight, Legion, and Freddy on yhe other hand seem to be factories for cranking out BP.

Haha you’re kidding right? Blight has a cooldown and a lower turn rate.
This low POV is the devs making a dumb decision. He is taller than the Survivors and cannot see over loops.
Just goes to show that you're not paying attention to the lore. The serum has altered his body so much that he now sees out of his testicles.
Seriously though, I have over 100 hours qith Blight at this point and the only problem with him is that he still slides off of surfaces sometimes. You can flick more than 90 degrees even without addons if you predict it, and he CAN still see over cover.
-
I agree. I think Wraith is really OP. I hate that he can ket out electric blasts that make survivors scream amd give away their location. And the fact that he can stun survivors for 2.5 seconds at every single loop is just MEAN.
Isn't it bad enough that he can turn invisible, stalk survivors to exposed them, throw bottles of gas, AND put down bear traps?!
-
They already got rid of 'window tech', where you could clip through a killer's hitbox while they vaulted windows. I don't really see how thos is a problem. Crouching underneath a killer to confuse them is ballsy. I respect it.
-
I'm sorry you had a rough match. Those survivors seem pretty boosted.
That said, as a rank 1 killer main I have to disagree. The last thing this game needs is to force survivors to spend even more time holding M1. That's pretty boring if they're not stacking toolboxes. What the game needs instead is more tools for the killer to regress gens.
I would also recommend avoiding lobbies with 3-4 toolboxes. The result is pretty obvious.
