Main thing I hate is how urban evasion looks now

To be fair, poop-scooting around with Urban always looked dumb.

  • Had some truly heinous t-baggers the other day. They t-bagged me at every pallet. They t-bagged me in the distance when I was chasing other survivors. Eventually one of them DCed so that the other could t-bag me at the hatch. That made me roll my eyes so hard that I gave myself a concussion.

They then tried to get salty in the post-game chat. I just pointed out to them that their "winning strategy" involved willingly taking a temporary ban and told them to enjoy their time-out.

  • Wut?

    ...wut?

    You wanna nerf.... PIG?!?!?!?!

    ...

    ...

Have you tried booping? It's a pretty surefire strategy.

  • Killer is doing a speedrun.

Seriously though, I frequently get asked, "why are you slugging at 4 gens?" My answer is that I had 2 survivors hooked, 1 on the ground, knew where the 4th survivor was, and realized I could end the game immediately.

If all 4 survivors make enormous mistakes I'm going to end things early and move on to the next match.

    Sorry not sorry

  • So, Ummm...

You know killers can't swap characters anymore once they join a lobby? It's been this way since around September because of the planned changes for MMR. How are you supposed to ban certain characters when killers can't change the character they're playing?

No offense, but this OP reeks of someone who never plays killer, and frankly I dont trust the opinion of anyone who doesn't play both roles.

  • Some of the new animations look nice, like having survivors actually fall over instead of teleporting to the ground.

Survivors running while injured looks way weirder now though.

I saw some survivors trying and failing to moonwalk last night. I've never learned how to do it myself though so MAYBE it's still possible?

I don't know how hitboxes have been affected but I heard they recently got touched up for killers like Huntress and Charlotte. Can't guarantee that it's true though. I've honestly never minded Huntress hitboxes since you can learn with experience when your hitbox is showing and when it's not. I'm starting to get used to Victor's wonky hitboxes as well.

  • There is a bug that causes the gen counter to remain at 5 if the first gen is completed in less than 20 seconds or so. The next gen completed will move the counter down to 3.

The only way for them to do a gen that fast is for all 4 survivors to pile on a gen with Prove Thyself or multiple BNPs. If they didn't have either of those things they may have been cheating.

  • ^ What this guy said.

Pig's traps don't assign you a specific box to find, but instead randomly give you a certain number of boxes you need to search before your hat comes off. New trapper will be much the same: as soon as you step on a trap you will be randomly assigned X number if escape attempts before you free yourself.

I love Pig, so it doesn't surprise me that she has the highest kill rate among killers. Her power is basically "make survivors stop doing OBJ for a while and also possibly kill them".

  • As a killer main I'd say it's more about playstyle than perks. I dont much care about survivors who use DS and BT to discourage naughty killer behavior. I use those perks too as survivor.

But then you get the survivor like I had last night who unhooked herself with Deliverance and then started doing gens in my face because she had DS and UB and was completely invulnerable. That's just an obnoxious playstyle. And for some reason those are always the ones who complain when I use meta perks.

  • I generally don't mind super immersed survivors because I'm good at finding them and they tend to be weak in chase.

I do constantly roll my eyes at survivors who throw the match, let their teammates die, and then tbag at the hatch. Such courage...

  • I'm still laughing over the match I had where I got the "hook survivors in the EGC" challenge as trapper.

The survivors played really da**ed well but then two of them stopped to tbag in the exit gates, not realizing that I had just activated Blood Warden.

A few days ago I let a low rank Bubba dqn me in the exit gate because I had DS. Then I missed my skillcheck. Whoops. Laughed my a** off qhile he carried me into the Entity's warm embrace.

Well yes the frame rate, and latency are certainly factors but so are mods and UI which coincidentally few are commenting. What about those cross hairs? How come I can wiggle the heck of a killer that doesn’t have one of the counter wiggle perks on console but PC forget about it. Obvious. Thus why any tourney should be distinguished between consoles and PC. PC has massive advantages in cross plat. PS5 is just a bargain gaming PC. $700 you can build a PC that will blow away the PS5. The concern here more the mods, UIs/mods, and yes cheats being used on PC.

How would crosshairs help Huntress? Her hatchets arc!

  • I got reported for hacks by a SWF a few months back because my Hag traps didn't make noise or show a phantasm. I told them to read the text of my Rusty Shackles addon but they refused. My fault for being a dirty cheater.

In fairness though theres now 22 killers with 20 addons each and roughly 100,000 perks. Thats a lot of information for new players to learn

  • Unpopular opinion here but I think every map should have 1 or 2 really powerful loops like the Fun Bus that skilled survivors can use to waste the killer's time in a moment of crisis. And I'm saying this as a rank 1 killer main. Similarly, every map should have a couple garbage pallets where skilled killers can easily catch potato players.

The problem is that certain maps (Hi Haddonfield!) have way too many strong loops. I hear the devs are going to start weighting maps for balance so that the game is less RNG based. This is great, but really should have been implemented 4.5 years ago. It feels like every time I play killer every high wall structure is a jungle gym and every time I play survivor every high wall structure is a TL wall.

  • Reindeer Elodie. Seriously.

I love the other animal outfits (bunnie Feng is adorable) but something about a grown-a** woman wearing a onesie with a flap in the back so she can make poopies is extremely off-putting.

Yeah it is a semi regular occurrence where people try to immerse when Frenzy is rolling, people try to hide in lockers, people insta drop pallets when I'm still in Frenzy so I get out quicker, and the funniest... people using Dead Hard before I'm out of Frenzy. I swear way too many survivors have no clue how Frenzy works.

OMG... the number of people who Dead Hard my frenzy. It makes me laugh every single time.

About 6 months ago I had two SWFs report me because my Hag traps were silent. Problem was I had the bug that didn't show my perks or addons, so they didn't believe me when I explained what Rusty Shackles were. These were Rank 1 players, too.

Also had a survivor get confused about how I found her in a locker seconds after Static Blasting while playing Doc with Whispers. It was a real mystery.

  • Ditto everyone above, but I'd add Pig and Bubba too. I don't use addons for Bubba and win almost every game. Pig's best addon is her brown combat straps. All of her "good" addons buff her Piggy hats, which don't really need buffing.

  • Survivors have a lot of down time where they just have to hold m1 to do gens or heal. Killers have to be playing at 100% for the entirety of the match.

That, and killer mistakes can be punished much more severely. Survivors usually have to be caught 3 times before they die, so they can afford to make a goof or two. Killers can lose the entire match with one bad play.

  • This is a classic mistake by survivors. They think you haven't seen them because killer's POV is much smaller.

Best thing you can do is approach them from a weird angle while looking in a slightly different direction so they don't know you've noticed. If you beeline straight for them it tips them off that the jig is up.

  • It was implemented as part of a plan for a future update that would've allowed survivors to grab a hatchett and hack the killer to pieces.

Survivor mains were insistent that it was the only way to balance the game, but the devs nixed it because it was too buggy.

  • Recently I've been playing a lot of Locker Houdini (Quick and Quiet, Head On). At the start of a recent match a Billy came chainsawing right up to us, so I immediately jumped into a locker. My solo Q teammate Dwight saw me do it and immediately kited the killer past the locker so I could stun him. We stuck together for the entire match and kept baiting the Billy into Head On stuns. He was cool with it and gave us some fun chases. The Billy ended up getting a 3k - I could have survived, but I came back to save the Dweet and ate a chainsaw to the face. Afterwards we all stuck around to say how much fun we had.

Good things do happen in DBD.

    Franklins does not work. Period.

It is an awful perk and you should feel awful for suggesting it. It doesnt do anything.

It allows you to despawn keys, and also negates white wards and the key ring addon. It not only prevents them from using their key, it despawns it so they cant keep it and use it against the next killer they face. I consider eliminating keys with Franklins to be a public service.

Also also, you'd be truly shocked at the number of free downs I've gotten because survivors are desperate to reclaim their keys/medkits. It is genuinely hilarious.

  • I literally saw this in action 2 weeks ago. Someone switched to a key with 10 seconds left in the lobby, giving me barely enough time to equip Franklins. Then 10 seconds into the match I saw her open a chest on a hill and deposit her key for safekeeping.

Needless to say I tunnelled her into the ground, because that was a scummy move she tried to pull.

Keys are very unhealthy for the game. They don't let you "earn" an escape. They allow you to escape without completing your objectives, which is sort of the opposite of earning it.

  • I occasionally get called a camper/tunneller when I objectively was not doing those things. I recently had a team call me a tunneller even though all 4 of them had DS and not one of them got to use it. I got all 4 of my BBQ stacks before hooking anyone for the 2nd time. So.... wut?

Other times I'm forced to camp or tunnel because survivors make stupid decisions. Like: I get my first hook and turn around to see 3 survivors swarming around, trying to rush the hook with BT or making completely obvious attempts to bait me away. So I camp, because I've literally got all 4 survivors off gens and in the same spot.

And I can't even count the number of times some Blendette has gotten a hook save and then crouched off into the bushes, leaving their teammate injured and vulnerable when I rotate back to the hook. If I play hide and seek with the Blendie I waste loads of time. If I slug the injured survivor I create map pressure and potentially punish the Blendette by taking away her "safe unhook" BP.

Sure there are scummy killers out there, but please remember that killers do not have a monopoly on stupidity. Ofttimes a killer camping and tunnelling is just them capitalizing on the mistakes of your team.

  • The problem I have with the mori nerf is how it was done. The nerf itself is a good thing for the game and a long time coming. It gets rid of one of the "nuclear options" that people can use to ruin the game for everybody, like keys and the old insta-heals.

Last year when they changed insta-heals they put them in a PTB and gave survivors weeks to use up their stocks of old insta-heals before the nerf hit. There wa a solid week where every game you played had at least on insta-heal. When they eventually do nerf keys ("Soon (tm)") they'll pit them in a PTB and give survivors weeks to use up their stock before the nerf hits. There'll be a solid week where every game you play will have at least one insta-heal (and if I'm being honest at red ranks I see keys in almost half my lobbies every weekend already).

You can argue that those two changes were more than just "number changes", and it's a fair point. But as much as I love the change to moris it feels kind of insulting to have it dropped into our laps one morning like a hot coffee spill. If nerfing moris really only took some fiddling with the numbers they should have either:

    A) Made this change YEARS ago as many of us have been asking for.

    B) Waited and done it with the eventual key nerfs ("Soon (TM)"). Made a big announcement about it and let us celebrate by burning through our stockpiles.

    C) Done something more creative than just making moris only work on death hook.

  • What I'm hearing you say is that Victor is OP because he negates your Spine Chill, and you can't survive without Spine Chill.

What this tells me is that the problem is not Victor but your over-reliance on Spine Chill. This makes me guess that any time your Spine Chill lights up for a fraction of a second you let go of your gen and hide.

    This is not the way.

  • The point is that it's a unique animation. I don't personally care for them, but a lot of people really seem to like earning and watching them.

They still also negate DS, and I suppose they might also save you a few seconds in hooking people. In a game where players are so optimized in the highest ranks, saving a few seconds in a tight match isn't to be sneezed at.

  • The fact that FNAF is a kid's game is a problem that really can't be overcome. Most of the fans it would draw would be kids, and DBD is not really appropriate for them due to the levels of violence.

Whenever a character in FNAF catches you the game just cuts to black rather than showing you what happens. What would springtraps attacks look like? What would his mori look like? These things would be disturbing to children.

DBD qould be wise not to link their violent horror game to a softer horror franchise marketed to younguns. I don't know much about FNAFs creator, but he would be wise not to liscence his iconic children's characters to such an adult franchise.

  • Myers' tuft of hair stacks with his iri tombstone addon in the sense that it takes EVEN MORE evil to reach EW3 if you're using both iri addons.

I don't play much Huntress but I believe there's a second addon that decreases your reload speed? Don't quote me on that though. Ironically that addon DOES stack with Iron Maiden to give you even faster reloads.

  • I would tell them to equip DS and kindred if they're playing solo-Q like I do and to stop self-caring in the corner.

  • I'm a killer main and while I agree with others that killer is more stressful I've recently discovered that Bubba is my stress-free killer.

I know survivors like to complain that X killer has no counterplay, but I'm genuinely surprised that I never see those complaints for Bubba. He's easy to use and at a high level of play (no camping/tunnelling) he's kinda busted.

Even Freddy has to put some thought into where he puts his snares. Bubba really just has to press m2 for insta-down.

  • Watched the vid, by the way. That Jane tried to Dead Hard through Scott but she didn't have the clearance so she just head-butted him. She still got her I-frames though, so she avoided the hit. I've seen this happen a number of times.

Crazy thing is she didn't even need to use her DH. Scott was carrying another survivor. She could've just run the other way around the gen finished repairing it, and kept her DH.

  • There's an old trick cocky PC survivors used to do where they'd stop dead in the middle of a chase to bait out a lunge then would Dead Hard from standing still to avoid the hit. It made them look like survivor Gods if they pulled it off, but after seeing it once I knew to wait out the Dead Hard and down them immediately afterwards. When it doesn't work it makes them look like overly-cocky goofs who just got stuffed.

Part of the reason I use DH as a survivor and don't mind it as a killer main is that it's the only exhaustion perk that takes any amount of skill to use. Even if you're "Dead Harding for distance" you need to have correct positioning and timing to pull it off. Anyone who says you just need to press E has clearly never actually used the perk.

  • Correct.

There is some sort of hack out there that allows players to unlock legacy skins that they didn't earn. I've seen a few of them out in the fog. You can usually tell which ones are fake just by how well they play; players had to play for hundreds of hours to unlock legacy skins, and that was over 3 years ago.

  • Until about a year ago items would disappear when you used all their charges. Players would just use 99% of their item's charges so they could keep it. The devs changed items to their current state to make them easier to keep.

Other than Felix's perk there's no way to recharge items, and this is for the best. Items are supposed to be a finite resource. If you could use the same toolbox on all 5 gens or heal 6 times with a medkit it would throw off the game's balance.

  • Let me just hold up a mirror here:

Why is getting a hatch escape so important to you? Why are you prioritizing survival over having fun?

My most enjoyable survivor match yesterday was one where Huntress slugged my only teammate until he bled out and chased me for ages. I didn't survive, but the killer and all my teammates stuck around afterwards to say how much fun we all had.

  • Get Hag and grab that Ruin.

Also, try you some Hag. She's one of the least played killers but one of the most powerful and fun, even if you don't trap every hook like a basic boring Hag (and really, don't trap every hook. You don't need to and it makes the game boring for survivors). Survivors often don't like going against her because something something no counterplay, but she actually takes some big brains to play well (if you're not trapping every hook).

I used to play a lot of Plague when she was first released but I fell out of love with her because of how the survivor meta is to never cleanse. She's a bit better now that she gets a free corrupted pool, but her range attacks are too slow.

As far as perks go Infectious Fright is really only good on Daddy Myers and Grandpa Oni. Ruin is good on E-V-E-R-Y-B-O-D-Y. Get you that Ruin.

  • About 15 killer matches at rank 1 with a variety of killers... I've played Blight, Hag, Bubba, Blight, Doctor, Freddy, Blight, Legion, Blight, Bubba, Blight, Bubba, and Blight.

I won every single match. They were all 4ks if you include the matches where I gave the last survivor hatch. If you hadn't told me bloodlust was off I would never have noticed. I even used Beast of Prey on Freddy (I was doing a BP farming build with BBQ and Distressing).

That said... the quality of survivors tonight has been extraordinarily lackluster. As killer I've been yawning my way through matches. As solo-Q survivor I've never been so upset at my teammates. 3 survivor matches in a row I brought We'll Make It and all 3 of my teammates brought Self Care. A dozen killer matches in a row where at least 2 survivors brought Self Care.

It's just been a "Hide in the corner and heal thyself" type of night. I don't know that I can even give any valuable data off of it, except that players who use Self Care are bad at the game and I don't need bloodlust to catch them.

  • Franklin's is fine as it is. Yes it can counter your White Ward, but the killer needs to sacrifice one of their perk slots to use it.

Frankly killers need a way to counter keys and teams that stack powerful items. If you're bringing pink items into most matches maybe don't get so attached to them

  • You'll probably want a better exhaustion perk than Lithe; that means Meg for Sprint Burst, David for Dead Hard (my favorite), or Jane for Head On.

Honestly this early on I would just look at which teachable perks I want and then level up those characters. Once you've got a lot of teachables it doesn't really matter who you're playing as. For now I would get your charactets up to level 40 for their teachables rather than going all the way to level 50.

  • First piece of advice is always to remember to have fun. It sounds pat, but losing in an asymmetrical game like this can feel frustrating, which is why you see so many people griping in the forums (I myself am occasionally guilty of this). Don't forget to have fun.

Two: If you're going to be playing by the "survivors rulebook" (i.e. no camping or tunnelling) it's essential that you have a good gen regression perk to buy yourself the time you need to win. Unfortunately in the current meta that only leaves you with Pop or Ruin. In more general terms you'll need a good perk build for every killer you play as.

Three: when it comes to looping think of DBD as being like a racing game; you'll need to hug walls as much as possible and take turns as tight as possible to gain as much distance as possible. This is true for both roles.

Four: You'll need to learn some good tricks for mindgaming. If you've mostly been playing survivor up to this point you've already got a good start, since you'll know how survivors think and where they like to run. The best source for learning mindgames is streamers. NotOtzdarva's youtube channel is your best bet. You can also try tru3tallent.

    Hope that helps.

None. If you want to get good at his power, don't use his add-ons. That said, the broken monocle isn't bad for seeing what you will hit when you use a Rush. All of the other add-ons are very strong, but you will severely miss them if you don't have them. Get used to using his power without any help before you start bringing add-ons that make him much stronger.

Also, the speed add-ons for his rush are not a great idea in any scenario. They make him much harder to control.

Vile heresy and libel. Blight's speed addons are his best addon other than turning rate. They not only let you move faster but get you more range on each rush and more range on each lethal lunge.

Learning Blight was much easier than learning Nurse since he's still 115 (albeit much shorter than the average killer). Just remember that you get a full second after each slam before you go into cooldown, so while you're learning to Blight take the full second to reposition and aim after each slam.

Don't be afraid to go for overly-ambitious attacks. You'll only learn what Blight can do by pushing him past his limits, and you're barely punished for missing an ambitious lethal lunge.

  • I've already seen nearly a half dozen threads of people claiming Power Struggle is OP - after having never used it.

  • I just watched Otz try to use this build. He dropped the pallet but missed the stun and got carried to a hook.

    Power Struggle OP.

  • People are hardcore overestimating this new perk.

Even with Flip Flop you need to go down at a pallet and get teammates to run interference for you long enough for you to recover with Flip Flop, in which case they might as well hide and get the pallet save. It's only going to be viable for SWFs and the long list of requirements to make it work will mean that it's going to be very meme-y.

I'm much more interested in the locker perk now that I've seen it in action. I think it'll be the next peeble.

  • Did you leap through two injured people at once? That would be... interesting.

    I wonder if it's intentional.

  • It's back!

    And still kinda weak (ish).

Which is good, don't get me wrong. It's not like Ormond needed EVEN MORE safe loops. New snowmobile is just a single pallet.

I think the rake is more possible than a lot of other creepy pasta 🍝 since it's been monetized successfully before and something hard to claim copyright over.

Who knows tho, your probably right on that.

So... you posted this at 12:46 PM, some 3 hours or so after they launched the PTB and revealed the killer?

    <3

It's not Wendigo, by the way. It's Wendi-baby.

  • So... 3 anti-slug perks and 1 anti-tunnel perks?

What if the killer just... doesn't tunnel or slug? Now you're essentially playing perkless. No exhaustion perks. No healing perks. No information perks. Just... nothing.

People are gonna need to calm down about Power Struggle. I don't think it's going to be used at all outside of the occasional SWF, and even then it can only be ued once per match.

Just calm down. Take a deep breath.
