  • If the devs are looking to add a sound killer, I think a banshee type of killer that screams would be a better fit for the game. A walking siren just sounds completely out of place imo and just more creepypasta to scare elementary school kids.

  • A La Llorona inspired killer named The Banshee would be so sick!

  • With monitor and abuse his chases are even shorter than usual. From the survivor perspective, it's extremely unfun to "play" against because many times you feel helpless.

  • Honestly, slug more often and especially when you can apply more pressure by doing so.

With Unbreakable and Decisive being so popular and better survivors being naturally altruistic, you're doing yourself a disservice by avoiding it.

From a survivor's perspective, I would MUCH rather be slugged and left than tunneled all game. It's far easier to come back from being slugged than it is from being tunneled.

  • Killer is voldemort and survivor is harry potter cuz harry potter is mysterious and voldemort has skull. Map is hogwartz

  • The dbd community is NOTHING compared to how toxic League of Legends is. This game is so casual that nothing matters; whereas, League is extremely competitive and try-hard that the most minor misplays can cause your team to rage at you in real-time.

In dbd you only have chat in pre and post lobby and guess what.. you can leave after the game is over and avoid all the toxicity. In league, you're literally stuck with toxic players until the game is over unless you want to dc and risk a ban.

I don't believe this is a common occurrence that your teammates are intentionally sandbagging you. I have hundreds of hours in this game and I have experienced that MAYBE twice. Now... League on the other hand has players running it down mid every other game in RANKED mode.

In the end, this game is supposed to be played casually. If you get sandbagged in one game, just report (even though it doesn't do anything unless you have video proof, but it might make you feel better pressing that button) and move on to the next. SWF is also way more fun than playing solo.

Since you mentioned Trapper, have you ever had this happen to you with him?

    https://youtu.be/n5VdcOm3HD0

Not that in particular, but it's possibly related to the hook bug. Looks like there's something blocking you from hanging the claudette. Whatever is blocking you from hanging her in that video might be what I got stuck in after I hooked a survivor.

  • I've had that happen to me as killer on console (Switch). I was playing Trapper on Haddonfield and once I hooked a survivor, i got stuck in the hook and couldn't get out.

  • Yeah Jeepers Creepers is never going to be in DBD. Pretty sure a dev has mentioned it somewhere.

  • Naw that's too obvious.

Probably the killer from I Know What You Did Last Summer with survivor Jennifer Love Hewitt

  • My favorite thing about playing killer in this game is being able to jump scare survivors. Knowing I made someone go "holy #########!" and jump in their seats is why I play killer. Because of this, my favorite killer perk is Dark Devotion. Playing Bubba and walking up to an unsuspecting survivor with no terror radius AND A CHAINSAW brings me so much joy!

So for me, this is a legit build, but it is troll-y in a sense that it can create some insanely satisfying and hilarious moments.

For this build I like to play off Dark Devotion and bring perks that make up for its weaknesses.

    Dark Devotion

-Core perk. You'll want to M1 once you find your obsession, and then leave them while Dark Devotion is active to sneak up on unsuspecting survivors.

    Corrupt Intervention

-This perk helps slow down the gen rush and push the survivors into a smaller area of the map. If you're playing Bubba (which I recommend), early chainsaws will help you build momentum until you can find the obsession.

    Distressing

-This perk helps with confusing the survivors. Since your terror radius is so huge, the survivors already have a hard time tracking you. Once you pass that huge terror radius to a friendly survivor, that should be enough to cause any players not in comms to think twice about their actions at any given moment resulting in paranoia for the duration of the match.

    BBQ and Chili

-A simple tracking perk to help you snowball. Discordance or Surveillance could also work here, but BBQ gives you plenty of blood points that stack with distressing so this build is good for farming too.

  • The black oozing out of the skull also seems to be hinting at Death Stranding which was developed by Kojima Productions and teased a new Silent Hill project in February.

Yes, it's intentionally designed to look like a regular-ass number 4, as you can see in my comment.

It's not though... it's slanted in the exact angle and shape of Pyramid head.

Look at the number 4 as it appears on this website. Now compare to the image.

The way it is depicted is still very much intentional.

  • @MdsTheGriffin said:

Are we not going to talk about how the 4 looks A LOT LIKE PYRAMID HEAD? Like... literally, the 4 looks exactly like his head. It is pyramid head, it HAS to be.

    EXACTLY!!

Like.. they CHOSE to depict "4" that way. Literally every other clue is a stretch, but this is way too on-the-nose to be coincidental imo. Also, Silent Hill would be the only franchise that would fit the "mysterious" survivor from Paulie's video.

To add to this, The Nurse is inspired by the nurses from Silent Hill. Silent Hill had 8 games in the series and two movies. This would also fit the "change the world of horror" wording in the teaser as well.

Also: The tweet from the BHVR employee that alluded to "bees" and "sweets" is 100% a red herring. There's no way their first "tease" of a new chapter would be from wordplay on a random tweet by a random employee.

Really?? Watch my friends stream, we play on PS4 killers always bring Moris and we get easy 4 escapes. This game is COMPLETELY survivor sided.

Killer on console is not comparable to killer on PC. Console controls are insanely survivor-sided so I can see why you think the entire game favors them if that's your only experience of the game.

I main both sides on PC and have been playing on the Switch a bit lately. I can safely say that playing Killer is a venture in masochism on console at least for the Nintendo Switch when compared to PC.

On PC, my kill count feels deserved.

  • I for one HATE facing Billy. His map pressure is just so obnoxious to me. Sure you can loop him, but his mobility is just insanely strong. On top of his mobility, he gets insta-downs. It's to the point where I loathe hearing a chainsaw at the beginning of a match.

  • I main Jane because thicc thighs save lives and I like to play altruistic.

  • Fair Killers:

Trapper, Wraith, Bubba, Hag, Nurse, Huntress, Clown, Pig, Plague, Demo, Michael, and Legion.

These killers have clear counter play to their powers that can be utilized to increase your odds of survival.

Killers I find too strong/annoying to face:

Hillbilly, Doctor, Freddy, Spirit, Ghost Face, and Oni

These killers have mobility, stealth, insta-downs, mind games, anti-loop, or free tracking build into their kits. The options survivors have to counter their kits feel more limited than the fair killers.

Killers I don't have enough experience against yet:

    Deathslinger

So far he seems similar to huntress but maybe more reliable since he wastes less time reloading and doesn't rely on lockers.

  • If I feel like a particular survivor has earned the hatch or escape and they HAPPEN to be the last survivor alive, I most likely will let them go.

  • Vile Purge does nothing to a survivor that is already injured or broken other than apply sickness. There is no way for Vile Purge to put a survivor in the dying state.

  • Also, stealth and subterfuge is rewarded via losing the killer in a chase resulting in more bold points for you. Other than that, always playing stealthy simply puts more pressure on your teammates.

  • It sounds like you need to work on your game sense and strategy. This game can be related to chess in that you have multiple "moves" to make at any given time as does your opponent. If they are doing X, you should be doing Y. If your teammate is doing X, you should be doing Y.

Knowing what your best play is in any given scenario is what will help you rank up. You can get rank 1 and be terrible at chases just because you play frequently and have good game sense.

You know what gives you more points, just use that knowledge to your advantage.

  • If you're worried about gens, run anti-gen. Corrupt Intervention, Thanataphobia, Ruin, Pop, Discordance, Surveillance. Any of those should help you out. Also, don't forget to vommy on them gennies after you smack em.

  • Yeah I had a similar issue. Most of their orders seem to be shipping from China so it can take a long time to receive anything. Did you at least get a confirmation email for placing the order?

Posting here isn't a bad idea. Mcote frequents these forums and has helped me personally when I had my dbd shop issue.

survivors who DC are still in lobby if they stay, which makes it even weirder like why DC for a quicker game and then stay around anyways.

Yeah this is what happened. It was on PC. Pretty sure the guy just didn't want me to get points for hooking him but whatever. I understand rage d/c cuz sometimes this game or your teammates can be bs, but in this instance it just seemed like a ######### thing to do for no reason.

  • @Peanits said:

Odds are you dropped the pallet a little early. You'll get the stun points, but the game won't stun the killer because they're currently in another animation. We tried queuing up the stun so it would happen after the pickup animation finished, but it came with a lot of negative feedback so the change was reverted.

I had a similar situation happen to me the other day where I dropped the pallet to save my friend on the killer's shoulder. I got the points for the pallet stun, but the killer did not get stunned, my friend stayed on the shoulder, AND I got hit by their M1.

How does that make any sense?

  • I completely hated it when she first came out. It totally ruined her character for me.

I got used to it after a while though and now it makes me laugh. The Spirit is more unique because of it I think.

  • @CreeperAwMan224 said:

So I don’t know if anybody here has heard of him but I would really like art the clown from terrifier

Art the clown was terrifying lol

Idk what his powers would be though

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

It's not a bug or your ping or anything like that. It's literally down to "you dropped too late."

It's that simple. If every drop was a stun, that would be silly.

Literally had a game where I dropped the pallet and got the killer stun but still got injured even though the killer did not have an animation for the swing.

The killer was stunned but did not drop the survivor and so essentially I dropped it too early? But I got hit anyways so i dropped it too late?

It's not about skill, something clearly got hard fkd. It makes no sense right now.

  • I received confirmation that my order had been shipped over a week ago, but what concerns me is that the tracking information has not been updated. According to the tracking, the package is still in China.

That on top of the Merch team not replying to my inquiries is what has lead me to posting this thread.

  • In a world of lootboxes, you really want to complain about DBD's transparent DLC content?

    Ok

  • M&A is an awesome perk!

I run it on my plague since it allows her to surprise survivors to land some easy vile purge leading into broken and then downed survivors.

  • Claudette

    Nea

    Jane

    Plague

    Hag

    Spirit

  • Surveillance on Plague makes her so good at protecting gens while also spreading sickness.

  • werewolf killer would be legit tho

  • Cypress Mori should be baseline and give sacrifice points for this reason. Encourage killers to end it quickly instead of waiting out the clock. This can be made to be non-cancelable since it would only activate once one survivor was left.

The entity should only come into play if the killer can't find or is in a long chase with the last survivor when the hatch has been closed.

You seem to forget we have to eat a 4 second stun, and that our stun add-ons got nerfed, Wich gives them enough time to find a loop or a structures, and kills the first hit gimmick on multiple targets aka share the pain playstyle Legion had.

If I could re activate my power when it wasn't full I wouldn't mind being that slow, but currently it makes no sense, it even feel like they balanced the power as if it was still lethal but forgot they removed that feature, if you consider that good, then I don't know what to say to you...

I'm definitely not saying Legion is perfect, not even close. I'm just suggesting the people that want changes to keep playing them so the devs can have more data to back up the claims that they are underperforming.

I think what they have now is a good starting point for easily implemented QoL buffs.

  • @Plu said:

They are slow, as long as survivor have around 10 meters of distance between you and them and run on a straight line, you won't catch them in time before ff cancels itself.

By that time you should be pretty close to them and can easily catch up to them with your new 115% base MS.

FF is not going to be as fast as it was previously and imo that's better for the game overall.

  • @Plu said:

We already played games, the feedback got ignored, what are you on about @TheVVitch ?

They didn't even remove the loss of frenzy during stuns when they told us they would.

Legion's tracking is weak in frenzy, you can barely catch up to people you track with it with how slow you are rendering it close to useless.

Play more. PTB is generally not great for balance data. Since they just went to live yesterday, play them on live. People play more seriously on live than on PTB and the volume of players give more data points.

@Peanits already said in another thread he will be looking into the loss of frenzy during stuns.

Legion is not slow in FF... maybe compared to the previous version, but overall no they aren't "slow".

  • FF is for tracking and slowing down survivors.

Their base MS was increased to help combat the FF nerfs which were completely unfun from the survivor perspective.

Try them out for a few games. Try out new builds. Try new tactics and playstyles. Let the rework breathe for a bit.

Now you might actually be able to play against survivors without them D/Cing because of your killer pick.

Play as many games with the new Legion that you can. The devs value any data that can be provided, and since they are now on live, they will be getting significantly more data to pull from than on ptb. If Legion truly need some balance buffs, the devs will look into it whether you believe that or not.

  • *spits on Legion's grave*

  • Just play the game. Who cares about streamer drama?

  • There's so much

  • @Peanits said:

    Short answer: They might be.

Long answer: They are procedurally generated. The game will try to place them a certain distance apart as much as it can, but each map also has a minimum number of hooks. If that number has not been reached and there are no more valid spots for hooks to spawn, it will ignore the rules and spawn them wherever it can. This is why you can sometimes end up with two or three hooks really close to each other.

Would you guys ever add a bunch of hooks in one area unique to one map. Similar to how there's now a clump of lockers on The Plague's map?

Is there any point vomiting on objects etc

Sickness rate of survivors increases when interacting with objects that have vile purge on them. What I'm not sure of is if they are already sick but not broken, does working on gens, vaulting pallets/windows, going into lockers increase their sickness levels by a chunk? I've noticed if I vomit on pallets mid-chase that plenty of times right after a survivor puts them down, they become broken. I regularly use the severed toe add-on though that "Considerably increases the rate at which Survivors gain infection from interactions".

Thanataphobia is an interesting perk that I haven't tried out myself yet.

    My typical build is:

Monitor and Abuse, Surveillance, Ruin, and Hex: Haunted Ground

Monitor is so good on her. It lets her get super close to survivors before they react to her heartbeat which an lead to some easy vile purge shots.

Surveillance is great for finding survivors. Discordance would be good as well. I use surveillance because I find guarding gens to be one of her bigger strengths.

Ruin for slowing the game down :P

Haunted Ground for some easy early game downs.

Iridescent Seal is a really good add-on that survivors can't really play against.

Vile Emetic + Infected Emetic is the most used combo for breaking survivors fast with vile purge.

I've been trying Severed Toe and Ashen Apple for some more interesting play. I mostly build around using Vile Purge since Corrupt is not always guaranteed unless you are running Iridescent Seal. If you do have corrupt available and you know someone is going for an unhook, make sure you use a fountain for 2 easy downs.

She is easily looped especially if you are trying to vomit while looping. Learning when to use Vile Purge and when to just bloodlust is key.
