Thank you for saying this. The new animations are better and make more sense
100%
The old animations were clunky as all get out and didn't make much sense. Your survivor was perpetually hunched over for no reason. People are just adverse to change especially since the old animations have been used for so long. Same thing with the UI changes.
People are just adverse to change.
The hitbox detection is my only real gripe this patch

yeah guys. it's not that big of a deal. they took out all relevant information and replaced it with large crappy survivor images. just play without info. totally fine.
yess bring the dramatics
-
Y'all really on here complaining about UI. It'll take time to adjust to the changes, but damn... it's not that big of a deal. Critiquing the new HUD for future changes is one thing, asking for a revert of something the team has worked hard on to improve is just childish.
"I don't like this change so revert it."
Be constructive and realistic with your criticism.
-
Yup, the collision bug with certain objects ruins him completely. Sliding off an object just takes the fun out of his gameplay completely. Combined with his extremely low POV, he feels super buggy.
-
His turn add-ons alleviate this issue.
Being able to flick like oni on command would be OP imo. Blight already has his power available essentially whenever he wants.
-
I've really been enjoying the Ruin/Undying combo you mentioned on him! I haven't been lucky enough to get BBQ unfortunately, so the aura reveal from Undying is proving to be extremely helpful.
I've paired that combo with I'm All Ears and Shadowborn for extra visual clarity and tracking during chases. Extremely fun and deadly killer so far!
-
MorfUK does this against Deathslingers live on stream. He refuses to play against him lol

I hate running hag without M&A simply for the FOV increase, the TR change is great(and is the only reason I use it over shadowborn) as well, but legit its just so i can see survivors more easily on the afore mentioned maps.
Yeah I was talking specifically about running Shadowborn on Blight. Hag is better off running other perks like M&A I agree.

I don't think anybody is arguing the view isn't thematic in that sense. 🙂
Also Hag's low point of view isn't as tough for me to work with because she doesn't actually chase survivors that often, she mostly sets traps and teleports in for a quick hit when they go off. Sure she chases now and then but I think if you're usually in long chases with Hag you're probably playing her wrong. Blight, though, is entirely about foot chases so is more susceptible to corn and grass blindness and not being able to see survivors over generators, etc.
I have been running Shadowborn on him and have yet to get a corn map so that could be part of the reason I haven't had any issues.
He just feels like a lowrider killer lmao
-
Yeah I have to agree that the Spirit "counter" is good against baby Spirits; however, more advanced measures need to be taken against more experienced Spirits.
Running and then Fixating towards her husk is probably the most predictable move once your tracks stop. I personally find Houdini build to be a better counter to her phasing mechanic.
-
He's a hunch back killer. It's sorta expected he has a lower POV. After maining hag, this isn't that much of a change for me personally.

@Exor said:
Honestly, I like everything about him, he is very fun, when he works but I have 5 problems with him.
- His FOV is EXTREMLY annoying and its not even like the Hag, who actually is that small, he is bigger than his FOV lets on, so you both have bad FOV AND less mindgame potential than the hag.
- His Lunge just feels so... janky imo. I feel like he should have full control during his lunge but cap the radius that he can turn, kinda like the Oni.
- I now have the opposite problem with him than I did back on the PTB, you want to actually bounce off of a wall to reposition/go into lethal rush, but instead slide right off, ending in a stun AND being outpositioned. Some surfaces also seem to be completly bugged and even if you run into a wall thats right in front of you, you end up just sliding off anyways.
- You can't use his power when facing stairs, probably a bug with them counting as walls and triggering the anti double bounce they added. This both prevents you from starting a rush and continuing after bouncing off a wall near stairs.
- There are still certain spots that have collision for no reason while using the power, while being able to walk trough normally without it, resulting in "air bounces", although these are usually the same ones that make Bubba+Billy bump with air and aren't exclusive to him
Some of these are just bugs and will probably get fixed (except for the common bump spots since they didn't fix those in years) and alone they aren't too big of a deal, but some of them can show up multiple times in a row, which is really frustrating.
Again, he is very fun when he actually works and I think fixing the bugs would be enough to make him WAY less frustrating, although I wouldn't say no to changes regarding his lunge and FOV.
Have you tried running Shadowborn on him for the increase in FOV?
-
I'm having a ton of fun with the guy! His mobility is just too nutty imo. People keep trying to use his rush at tiles and it's just too unreliable for looping. Once you force them to leave a loop, that's where The Blight's strength lies.
4k'd all my games with him so far and don't even have most of my perks unlocked.

Iron Will is fine.
If they're running Stridor that sucks, but it shouldn't catch you off-guard since you can hear that you're still moaning, and you still end up reducing your moans by half, which isn't nothing.
Didn't say it catches me off-guard when they have Stridor, just saying it sucks and removes stealth play and mind games on the survivor side. Like you said, you can hear your grunts of pain. The reduction of sound is near negligible though tbh. Any high rank killer can track those sound queues.
If Stridor Spirit wasn't a thing, Iron Will would be fine. I think Stridor Spirit is personally the most unbalanced thing in the game.
-
50/50s just suck in a game like this. There's no clear-cut way to actually counter a spirit it's just "git gud". The issue with that is "good" is heavily dependent on how bad the Spirit is at tracking you. Tracking is arguably the easiest part of playing killer. Once you see a survivor, it's extremely easy to keep the chase. Following scratch marks and sound queues while being invisible and having faster ms make it ez mode for her.
On the survivor side, you can try to listen for her light as fck footsteps over your way more prominent grunts of pain, guess what she will do next with near zero information, or hold w to the next loop and hope she sucks.
The 50/50 is just too easy for her while the survivors have to be literal rocket scientists at every opportunity where she can phase.
The only way I have been able to reliably outwit a GOOD Spirit. Is by playing unpredictably with lithe, dance with me, and quick and quiet. Aka anti spirit build.
-
I'm honestly starting to think Demo is sleeper A tier. He gets mobility in his portals, and can mind game his ability with no drawbacks similar to Executioner and Deathslinger.
A good demo can apply crazy pressure
-
Bond is better in most scenarios imo. Solo play you're looking to stay alive and not fck over your team which bond will help with. Empathy can give you information on where the killer is, but imo it's not as useful as bond unless you're looking to flashlight save multiple times in a match.
-
DS isn't an issue. As killer you have to play around the assumption that they have it and it's near useless just how survivors play against BBQ, discordance, noed, etc.
-
I love cross play hands down. It brings the community together, solves queue times, and lets me play with friends on other platforms.
-
Houdini build works well against her. Quick and Quiet, Iron Will, and Dance With Me.
Other than that, one tip I can give is that she will look in the direction she's going to phase in after she stops moving. If she's trying to mindgame at loops, just leave and go to the next loop. Never take the chance for her to phase and hit you at a loop if you can help it.
-
It's honestly fine. The stairs are at the corners of the map not too hard to remember.
I love Midwich as a survivor. As a killer, it depends on which one you are playing. Certain maps favor certain killers and this one is no exception.

Yeah I've come across great killers on both platforms, toxic players on both platforms, there are bad players on every platform. Console survivors are no different than PC survivors as well, there are also PC players who use a controller when playing survivor. About the endgame chat, I hope they add it for consoles.
Not relevant but is the movie any good? (your username) :p
One of my favorite horror movies! It's more of a period piece that towards the end completely horrified me. It's really divisive though because it's a slow burn film that pulls you in. It's also not scary in the traditional sense of jump scares, bloody slashers, or monster movies. It's more a psychological horror that forces you to really think about what you just watched. It's a movie that sticks with you for a few days after and even to this day sometimes at night I'll walk into a dark room and remember a scene from this movie and have to find the lights asap lol
-
Hit and drop chase is the ideal scenario if you sense a survivor is good at looping or the other survivors are gen rushing. Killer is all about optimization, agreed.
Every killer main on these forums seems to only match against 4 man SWF god-tier survivors. 90% of survivors are not that good even at red ranks. In a SWF, plenty of the good survivors will be made vulnerable by them wanting to rescue their less-skilled teammates. If you manage to be matched against a 4 man SWF that are god-tier, they summoned Exodia on your a$$ and hopefully you used your best perks, add-ons, and brought a mori.
Not sure why people are so annoyed with SWF personally. If anything, it makes strong players more altruistic and vulnerable in most situations.
-
I've come across some pretty spicy console killers. The differences between PC and console are not as drastic as I thought they would be.
Console survivors tend to play differently though and that's been an adjustment. Console killers also are more likely to tunnel or camp because there's no endgame chat.

Killer Perk:
Barbed Aperature:
Windows within 25/30/35 meters of you become barbed with sharp, rusty wires. Survivors that vault these windows scream in pain revealing their location and causing the hemorrhage status effect. Pools of blood left by affected injured survivors appear brighter for 15 seconds.
"The traps have been set. Run little mice. You won't get far."

2 perks because I can
Survivor perk: King of nothing, if you don't have an item held for 140/130/120 seconds gain a brown toolbox/medkit at random, depleting the charges on a item consumes the item and decreases the time needed to not have a held item by 20 seconds per rarity tier of the item depleted
Killer Perk: Cursed treasure, Spawn 1 addition chest at the start of the trial, whenever survivors complete a chest search expose all survivors for 35/40/45 seconds and reveal the auras of all chests to survivors for 5 seconds.
I would LOVE cursed treasure for a pirate themed killer!
Would be awesome if after searching the chest, a skull was in place of an item

The thrill of hunting your prey fills you with determination. See the Aura of All Survivors for 3/5/7 seconds at the beginning of the trial.
You can run, but you can't hide.
Dude this would fit so well for a werewolf themed killer!
Would be awesome if it would be useful at other times throughout the match.

I think a lot of the issue comes from the original artist's design aesthetic not really fitting the dbd aesthetic. I was trying to imagine what it would look like if they didn't compromise the original design, and I think it would still look weird af.
The dbd models are too static in their stances and expressions to pull off certain clothing choices. The hair, eyes, glasses, hood, and sweatpants all look good in the original design because of the creator's artistic style. They accounted for Claudette having curves, anime-like features, and cutesy, voluminous hair. DBD claudette is not very curvy, has some of the worst hair choices in the game, and has a realistic face shape.
If anything, this might deter BHVR from selecting winners with less realistic art style choices.
-
I don't mind longer PC survivor queues if that means I can actually play killer without waiting for 10 minutes
-
I only use ebony moris, but I wait for people to be on their last hook. I personally would rather die to a mori instead of a lackluster final hook.
I feel mori's should be earned and should be somehow reworked to be base-kit for killers. Knowing the killer always has access to a mori would take the salt out of the wound of them bringing an offering intentionally, but giving the killer requirements to be able to use the mori would ensure they had to earned it.
-
Y'all sleeping on zaddy Ace with his beard and button up shirt cosmetics.
Only male survivor that's attractive imo.
-
I think survivors are just annoyed because we got another ######### set of perks. Desperate Measures can be good and will probably see decent use. The other 2 are hot garbo or lesser versions of already available perks.
I do think it was about time that Killers got some decent perks. It's been since Ghost Face that a somewhat meta perk was released with Thrilling Tremors. Since then, Killers haven't gotten a single recognizably meta perk. Most have all been situational which I think is fine and not every perk should be required to be top-tier.
Survivors haven't had many meta perks recently either though. Nancy's Inner Strength and Jane's Head-On are the only perks that are tossed into the low end of the "stong perk" category. Cheryl's Soul Guard had promise, but it's just way too situational and the 8 seconds of time it's active is just not worth the perk slot usually.
Overall though, the killer's options for top-tier perks vastly outnumber the survivor's. Some variety is all we are asking for, not to ######### on killers getting meta perks.
-
I'm guessing he'll lose the extra self stun after dashes and hits a survivor before he goes live. The self stun is just too much and ruins the flow of playing him.
Other than that, content creators seem to be trying to make his power work in loops when it's not useful there. Use it to cover large distances and catch up to survivors and that's pretty much it. His power does seem hard to control though.

Unhook speed will be insane. Im main killer and i can see a lot of potential in this perks. BT + Dead hard + desperate measures will be insane at the end game, you can easily unhook anyone
true! It will help a ton with getting out of sticky situations during end game like camping killers. the more people injured, the faster you unhook plus BT and dead hard... damn that's strong.
-
Could be fun in medic meme builds, but overall doesn't give you extra chances in a chase so it won't be top tier.
Desperate Measures, Botany, We'll Make it, and Empathy or a meta perk.
-
Being stealthy is one thing, but the issue arises when the Stealthdette gets found and then instantly goes down because she lacks the ability to prolong a chase.
Stealth should be used in conjunction with aggression not passivity.
The stealth players are using their cosmetics and urban evasion as a crutch to avoid getting better at a crucial part of the game, the chase. It forces your teammates to take the brunt of the killer's aggression and actually hinders your team's longevity in the game. Ideally every survivor will be 3 hooked in close matches where the killer actually applies pressure. If a teammate is playing stealth all game, that forces the other 3 survivors to be hooked first ensuring the killer faster kills and your team is now down a player.
This is why stealth MUST be used with aggression. Learn how to prolong chases, when stealth is the best option, and how to win a chase using stealth. Understanding those 3 situations incorporates stealth properly into the game without becoming a dreaded Stealthdette.
-
I have seen a number of decent console survivors. If anything, this will breathe some new life into the console meta of killers and same for PC. I love that the dbd players are no longer split!
Hackers are extremely rare on PC so that's really a non-issue.

You said the previous comment survivors have no option against this strat. And now you say it isn't possible to 3 gen if you run iron grasp. What's the point man?
You misunderstood. "Keeping away from the basement" won't be possible for the survivors sine you are running iron grasp/agitation while also actively blocking the 3 gens closest to the basement from being completed.
-

There is another option also: keeping in mind where the basement is and staying as far as possible from it.
You already said you are actively trying to 3 gen them in that area. That won't be possible especially if you run agitation/iron grasp.

This tactic is counterable, just learn how do do it and you will feel rewarded
How exactly would you suggest countering this? You already have said you will be patrolling the gens closest to the basement early game essentially ensuring a 3 gen.
The other option would be to let a survivor die in the basement; which unless you were all 4 SWF, there would be no indication you had iron grasp/agitation with monstrous shrine until it was too late. So not really anything to counter there.
BT would be needed to save anyone, but you plan to slug anyways so the survivors would also need to be running DS and Unbreakable. All 3 on one survivor are extremely sweaty to run against killers playing normally.
In order to counter this tactic, you would have to expect it ahead of time. That's near impossible.
Other than rushing one of the 3 gens closest to the basement somehow while you patrol the other 2, I see no way for this to be countered. Agitation/Iron Grasp will ensure you almost always get basement hooks. There's no counter to that. Once they are in the basement, any survivor will try to save their ally. Chances are that will make 2 in the basement and the best you can do is realize they are a lost cause and focus on gens. No way to save your friends without ensuring your death as well.
-
I'd much rather face off against an insidious basement bubba because at least he's a meme.
Any Agitation/Iron Grasp basement build is just torture to go against. It's just not fun or engaging to play against nor does it take the slightest bit of skill on the killer's part.
When I play this game, I get satisfaction out of knowing I bested my opponent either by escaping/4k in close matches or having exciting chases . Forcing the basement breaks the game in the sense that it removes the skill from all aspects of a match. What a player finds fun is subjective, but if you're deriving your fun from straight up ruining the game for others, that's a weird flex for sure.
-
I'd rather just take my chances with up the ante, slippery meat, and a green chalk pouch that way the killer knows at least one person is going for the luck build, but not every hook will be worth his time to camp.
-
Does clown even need PWYF tho?
His bottles slow survivors down so much that the speed boost is just overkill, no?

How much more? Lost more than 30 matches in a row?
Improve? How being outplayed by their flashlights is gonna help me when they run top tier perks and I don't have resources for top-tier-killer perks? This isn't improving. Improving means "you win some, you lose some", not when you "never win" or "never kill".
I mean, you're running pretty meta perks to be honest. Corrupt, Ruin, and Infectious are all really good. Distressing is decent for Doctor as well.
The survivors aren't even as sweaty as they could be. In your last one you linked, two of them had self-care which is by far one of the worst perks to use in higher ranks. That really shows how boosted you can be as a survivor and still reach red ranks.
A tip against flashlights, try to face an object when picking up a survivor to not give the survivors a chance to flashlight save. Other than successfully saving another survivor (which is the killer's fault for giving them the opening), flashlights are nearly useless especially with the changes to Lightborn and Franklin's Demise. I'm sure you don't have those unlocked yet, but they would be beneficial if you see multiple flashlights in a game lobby.
No one knows how much longer matchmaking will be like this, but instead of throwing in the towel, you can take it as an experience to see how supposedly skilled survivors react to your playstyle and think objectively how you can play better. Don't take it so seriously.
-
It's a new MMR system. Matches will stabilize the more you play.
If you find yourself getting discouraged when pitted against skilled survivors, try thinking of it as an opportunity to practice and improve.
-
I rarely ever DC, but if i do, it's because the killer is playing super scummy. If you tunnel someone out of the game as fast as possible when you have the option not to, your goal changes from "winning" to ensuring that one survivor doesn't get to play the game.
Whenever I play as killer, I still take into account the survivors' value of the match. I like high quality matches that gives everyone a chance to make plays. It also gives more rank and blood points so there's not much of a drawback to having some level of fair play.
-
@slunder said:
@TheVVitch if the red rank killer is not picking the survivor the right way, chances are, its a noob that you can easily defeat flashlight or not.
I don't understand your point here. Red ranks make mistakes and get lazy too. Just because they "shouldn't" give you the opening, doesn't mean it won't ever happen. It's a part of the game, and as a survivor you should learn it.
-
I usually give hatch if I feel both sides played a solid match and the last survivor was a noticeable contributor to the match quality.
