  • I think a dev clarified it was just for the sake of the video footage.

The only way end game is brought on with four gens left is if only one survivor is alive.

I am sorry but I am going to post my real opinion here. The devs ever since the Ash update have left us in the dark with a ton of stuff including things that people have complained about like MoM they still haven't addressed what is going to happen with that of course nothing probably will happen. The rate at which they fix bugs is astronomically slow like the legion filthy nasty blade bug and the audio bugs ect ect. The only reason that this game is currently popular is because honestly there is basically no competition for this game no other asymmetrical games currently that you could say could rival it. But if that day ever comes to where a new asymmetrical game comes out that is actually fun and good their player count will most likely spiral.

They are supposed to be having a live Q/A next week. Hopefully they will address MoM, but if I remember correctly, I read somewhere in these forums that they are keeping a close eye on the perk.

I expect there will be a decent amount of bug fixes in the mid-chapter patch. The new loading screen changes alone will help douse the frustrations of the infinite loading screen bug.

By all means, post your frustrations with the devs. The thing that I like about them is that they don't consider themselves to be infallible like plenty of other dev teams do.

I have to be honest here: If this game was in a beta state, then I might agree with you. Unfortunately, the game has been Live for three years now, and I have beta tested some games that are more stable and in better states.

So, I will have to respectfully disagree at this point in time.

This is understandable. I'm looking at it more so from a transparent and trust-able standpoint. They communicate their changes thoroughly and address bugs even when they might not have a fix for it for a while.

They just seem like a good, trustworthy group of devs that love their game and its community. Slow progress? Sure. Laundry list of bugs? I can agree with you there. I just trust that they will improve the game even more and that's something I can't guarantee with even the biggest companies in gaming.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

    You are joking right?

What would make you say that? The devs working on dbd are some of the most transparent I have experienced in online gaming. If stuff is broken or imbalanced, they will address it openly.

The game from its inception to where we are now is near incomparable.

@TheVVitch Ahh you mean a "counter" in terms of some kind of HUD mechanic that shows you the totems that are left and not gameplay-wise.. In that case I misunderstood, sorry m8.

Yes oops lol I can see how that got mixed up. Just added to HUD 😃

  • @ShaneQ

Yeah, I am just not a fan of the endgame we have on live right now. Waiting until we can get our hands on it to form opinions is probably best, but damn does it look pretty cool.

    @wurzelbart

I'm not saying hex totems are an issue. NOED is fine imo. You can just do totems like you said. What I don't understand is why a totem counter isn't implemented anyway. It does nothing to SWF and just helps out solo survivors by giving them general information. You still have to actually hunt down and find the 5 totems.

Actually, after the recent few changes, at this point I kind of hope that with the new system(s), things might fall back into place. You know, like gears gripping into each other. @ShaneQ

It's called Small Game. Actually quite a useful perk, I like to run it myself even when playing solo. Totems are perfectly fine as they are now. @Nova_Terra

Small Game doesn't count the totems. You have no way of knowing how many totems are left on a map as a solo survivor unless you have spent most of the match looking and managed to get all 5 yourself.

  • @ShaneQ said:

I'm not sure I like all these sudden changes coming to DBD, I mean I'm happy for all you moonwalking legions out there but I just feel end game rework is not really warranted. Your trying to spice up the game to appease people who have left but you may push more players away depending on what these changes are. I hope the devs are right on this

The end game in dbd has been terrible for both sides for a long time. This is totally warranted.

  • Basement hook timers could deplete significantly faster in end game. Might actually make Monstrous Shrine at least a niche perk.

  • Can a killer now activate their own Bloodwarden AND close the hatch?!

  • I'm loving playing as killer right now. Plague has been so fun as well! She's such a fun addition to the game. 🤢

  • I've been having the most success with this build.

Haunted Ground, Ruin, BBQ, and Surveillance. The only reason I'm running bbq is because I don't have Monitor and Abuse yet.

Haunted Ground is essential for early game pressure. Survivors don't expect it like... ever.

    Ruin... for obvious reasons.

Monitor allows you to get closer to the survivors before they react to your terror radius. This will net you some easy downs.

Surveillance/BBQ for finding survivors. Surveillance enhances the Plague's ability to defend generators and imo is one of her most underrated strengths.

Her iridescent seal add-on makes her insanely strong since you get corrupt purge every time a generator is completed.

Severed Toe is highly underrated as well. If you are sure the survivor will throw down the pallet in the next few seconds, try to land some vomit on the pallet and them for some spicy sickness levels.

Infected and Vile Emetic are also a great combo for insta-sickness.

Overall I think she's pretty decent even against red ranks. She's certainly not "dog #########".

  • The goal behind the MS changes while holding her vile/corrupt purge was to have the player put more thought into when they should use purge. It's essentially a nerf, but overall just a change in how you play her.

Holding purge was viable on PTB and was really strong, but made her sort of braindead since you would just hold purge the entire game.

Now more thought needs to be behind your purges. That's all. You have to predict when to use it instead of having it ready on the fly.

Overall it doesn't affect people that will main her since they will get used to the MS decrease. It does increase her skill floor from ptb though.

It would be amazing to see some haunted visage slither out of a locker and give me a heart attack, but it being able to transport around the map like that would have to reduce their base movement speed, and a lot of people are sick of killers like that (although I'm not; those are usually the ones with the most creative powers, like Nurse. No, I don't want anything to be as strong as Nurse).

Another idea involving lockers is to turn them into traps, sort of where passing by would cause one to get sucked into a locker, and you have to break out before the killer comes over and removes you. I had the idea of Iron Maiden turning them into damaging spikes, but it would have to be one or two lockers on the map or something to be fair.

    This is really cool too!

  • @Delfador said:

Yes I really would love to see a killer that makes use of lockers.

Stating that, lockers themselves are not good enough to be the main part of the killer's power. Just like hillbilly, the killer needs something different besides his/her great map pressure.

Hrm... maybe the locker part would be a passive instead of a main power then?

  • @ClogWench said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/419937#Comment_419937

But then you gotta consider that killers with powers that dont help in chases are generally the worst ones

True. Maybe a passive could help with chases somehow. I don't really have a whole character in mind, but I thought the concept of a killer coming out of a locker was creepy af.

  • Mostly just thinking a killer coming out of a locker would be truly terrifying lol

  • @ClogWench said:

Sounds extremely easy to avoid honestly.

That's sort of the point I think. Great mobility but useless for chases. With perks like discordance, bbq, or surveillance it could be pretty good.

  • @drunky26 said:

    Lockers are Dwights thing, no!

This makes me wonder what the interaction would be if the killer transported to a locker currently occupied by a survivor (ahem Dwight).

  • I think 3 tokens would be enough for it to be balanced throughout the game.

  • @Peanits said:

While that would be very cool and would make for some awesome scares, it's also something you probably wouldn't want to do in an actual game. You would have to position yourself ahead of time and just hope that a survivor comes by. The entire time you're in that locker the survivors would be free to work on generators, so there's a good chance you would be sitting there for over a minute with generators popping off left and right just for a chance to get one hit.

What about a killer that can uses lockers as some sort of portal to teleport across the map?

I'd be spooked running past a locker only for the boogeyman to pop out :X

  • I think Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Discordance, and Monitor and Abuse is a good build.

Ruin/CI/vile purge let you slow gens down quite a bit.

Discordance makes you aware of gens that will be done too quickly and gives you info on at least 2 survivor's whereabouts.

M&A let's you get as close as possible to survivors so that you can unleash the puke at an easier to hit range. Also this can force survivors to be caught away from pallets which is your best bet if you're looking to break them.

If you don't need discordance, BBQ, Bamboozle, or Pop goes the weasel are good options.

  • I've played her almost exclusively since her release and she just gets steamrolled against competent survivors.

The slow while charging and holding vile/corrupt purge makes it nearly useless if you're getting looped. Often it's better just to bloodlust and M1 which feels counterintuitive to her power's design. Some pallet stuns I can't even see coming because of how tall she is resulting in a loss of Corrupt purge. Maps with a lot of corn feel so bad since survivors can see her coming and all she can see is corn corn corn.

Against survivors with DS, BT, and Adrenaline, she just can't compete.

  • Tbh the sick/vomit sound is already pretty easy to read in game. Idk if stridor would even be worth the perk slot.

  • Just run haunted ground + ruin and barf on the dull ones ;] mind games bois

  • I have been having decent luck with Corrupt Intervention + Ruin in conjunction with vile purge on gens. Really helps slow down the gen rush which she desperately needs to combat. I love her design and playstyle personally and have been playing a ton of her. It is a lot harder to 4k with her though when compared to other killers.
