@Orion Reading your comment made my lonely heart skip a beat. Thank you for your time!

Wear what you want! I prefer fashion over faculty.
-
It’s simply unclassy. Only non-creative Killers do this as a “fall-back” move. As a Killer main it helps being good at role playing according to your Killer. Doing this makes Trials more fun and engaging for everyone.
-
Have you tried re-installing? Also this appears to be the “Lore” section.
-
Self-Care is definitely a long-running gag for me. As Survivor and Killer, it's simply to predictable each Trial. It tickles me each time I sit next to another Survivor who'd rather heal themselves than get healed.
-
I like me some Fire Up. If you think about it, certain situations benefit from tiny little 'boosts' (such as Fire Up). You CAN feel the perk working in late game- for me atleast.
-
The solution to these problems usually include fixing players/humans on a molecular level.
I'm talkin' lobotomy people. Shutter Island like. -
I would reckon a good long AND INTERESTING Trial would pleasure the Entity greatly.
-
Woah she "can't see" survivors during her teleport? That IS very interesting. Considering Rin moves at insane speeds while teleporting, i suppose it balances out.
-
I absolutely adore the new Killer's creepiness. Her teleport is terrifying and I REALLY like her perk which grants a Memento Mori on ONLY the obsession.
-
I’ve gotten tired playing hide and seek for 20 minutes and decided to eat and come back to find out 20 minutes later some douchebag is AFK too at exit gate probably jacking off while staring at his TV. It’s not just “a little longer”, it’s matches longer than your average game of Risk!VolantConch1719 said:Like I said, there are trolls who would do that. I believe that can be reported (not that it would matter) as holding the game hostage, right?
An hour is seriously ridiculous though. I'd probably just leave after 10 minutes (as Killer) in all honesty. If you clearly don't want to play, I won't let you (Actually, then I'd just stand still, let them waste their time while I do something productive.)
-
Just imagine... Mathieu Cote SPOILING Cooper with all the loot he’s finagled out of my pockets!
(Not that I regret paying the band their fee for a job well done)

I don’t think any perks are useless actually; Sorry to add this unfitting comment but, if we think about it. Every perk has their own place (small or large). Some perks are more applicable in more frequent cases, but by any means I don’t think any perks are not worth being available.
-
Sadly players can really “put out” another with very simple tactics. “Camping” was kind of meant to have that fear factor if you asked me. Coupled with Insidious, it makes for great scares and ambushes. Sitting in front of the survivor in plain sight is just unclassy- but then again, style apparently is not this general community’s focus.
-
Yeah it definitely feels weird when you have 3 other survivors playing like the 60’s Celtics defense while one poor player is forced to just run/juke then die.
-
@Tombstone218 Didn’t think I was gonna have to pick up my sword and don my armor, but the appointed time has come.
To any and all (who play on Xbox), be wary of MrTimeMachine. Know that this player is out for blood, low rank and high. There will be little to no mercy.
Understand one thing... it’s strictly business.
Hex: Ruin will be preserved for The Hag, and NOED for those special occasions. -
@Wolf74 This post was directed towards Boil Over, but I agree with some of your remarks on notifications.
Survivors get quite a bit of information- due to SWF balancing possibly? But still, I personally don’t like be (as survivor) notified of Killer perks/status’. It messes with my immersion. -
Does it not seem like we’re getting stuck in a weird place though? Survivors “forced” to play the best way in order to counter the Killer’s best way, and vice versa.FrenziedRoach said:Meanwhile, Self Care is on every survivor who has popped it in the web. and most of then are running Sprint Burst, and there's at least 1 person with Abusive Strike in every trial.
Survivors don't give us quarter, why should we give it in return?
Now of course, players can still play whatever way they want, and some/most can still have fun. But playing “your way” sometimes won’t give you good results most of the time; And based upon the Community threads and reactions, we seem frustrated. -
“Most of the time” if it’s a good team of survivors though. I myself admit that sometimes, I only survive because of being selfish sometimes. Just because I have a “fair-middlin” tanking is because I have certain instincts.Dabrownman1812 said:Game can end in less than 8 minutes without ruin against pro survivors. So yeah, that's why peeps run ruin. Survivors have the upperhand even without using any perks most of the time.
I mean, not every trial consists of rank 1 SWF/teamspeak teams. But it doesn’t stop Most Killers from playing like it. It’s... predictable. -
I like suggestion 1 because it seems focused on one area at a time.
But I also like suggestion 3 with the idea of a “sister” to the Entity. It reminds me of Jacob, from Lost. (If anyone knows who I’m referring to) Jacob was the “good” brother of the Man in Black (“bad” bro). -
Absolutely not! If you were carrying a couch on your shoulder, and suddenly, a wasp stings ya in the buttock? You better drop that sucker before he deals anymore damage! It makes perfect sense why you would want to drop that Survivor first.
-
@Mrrgle_the_Mediocre I appreciate your time. Red Forest does seem “next in line” maybe. But who knows.

“Where’s the Killer, does anyone see him??”
”HE’S WORKING THE GENERATOR!” -
Woah woah. I for one LOVE using Insidious to wait by a generator or even by corners to make at least ONE survivor mess their trousers!flamestandish said:The problem of turning into a non moving object is that it is no fun for a killer to just sit there for minutes upon minutes in the hope that a survivor will cross their path for them to then jump out at them and attack.
But perhaps you’re right, in the quick confusion of things, even communicative survivors may “doubt” or wonder, “wait, just who are you...?”
I’m already imagining a scene in my head... -
Are you saying that I think: “Killers won’t notice a hook even if they’re not notified”?Dragonredking said:because you think they won't notice that there no hook aura visible if he isn't notified that the survivor is running it?
I absolutely believe Killers won’t be looking for a hook that they can’t see with their own eyes (or an aura of one). I myself as a seasoned veteran... sadly sometimes find myself depending on generator sounds to tell if a Survivor is working on it.
Sometimes, we cut corners and may rely on the same tactics or even auras. -
It’s a real situational perk, I mean, if your in an open area and the hook is in sight not too far; You’re gonna get hooked most likely. But when your in Lery’s- Entity forbid!- that you make a sharp turn into a wall instead of the door!Onehouse said:It's been pretty obvious when a survivor is using this perk even if I don't look at the corner of the screen. I can compensate without use of countering perks just by steering opposite to the force of their struggling.
-
Oh I know it would. I know it would sadly...MegaWaffle said:It would be fun but it would also split the player base meaning even longer queue times.

@BottledWater Oh yeah I definitely feel like low ranks are more fun! Survivors aren’t hardcore players, and- well, myself as a previous rank 1 Killer can role play MUCH more easily with low rank survivors. Like I love to use insidious with The Nightmare to scare people, or just “test” each player with the Reverse Bear Trap and “let them go” if they can succeed (while using unnerving presence).
I don’t want a challenge. I want survivors who’ll just want to play with me (sad to say). -
I really like those perks (especially Mirrored Edge) and the pictures you have for them. This idea would really excel for immersed players who just want to have a good time.
But the only problem with a Killer-turned-survivor is SWF groups and those on teamspeak. Maybe we should have a Killer that can shapeshift into objects like cabinets or rocks? That way even hardcore players may miss a simple object that they’ve seen millions of times. Like Chameleon in Dark Souls -
The only problem for new players- and immersive survivors (like me)- is that finding just 3 parts for one generator may be too long of a scavenger hunt. I mean I struggle already with finding Hex: Ruin without dying.
But I do like the idea of new objects to tinker with in the map.
-
@RSB Yeah (as a survivor) when I see a teammate get downed in one hit, I should be able to discern whether or not NOED is active.
Sometimes, I worry if it was a chainsaw hit or not- but then afterward (once I leave them for dead) I’ll remember, “oh wait! The Entity would’ve told me “The Killer is DANGEROUS stay away”. (By means of notification) -
I’ll never make it to rank 1 (as survivor) because I still walk around aimlessly (sometimes) listening to the trees blowing in the wind...Flimflam said:Since devs won't put a secondary objective into the base game these 2 perks have to be used to punish survivors for mindlessly pounding out gens. Otherwise you get <5min games against any survivor team that's actually trying.
(some trials) When I come across Ruin, I’ll just go on a Hex Hunt with the thought of dying but staying alive as long as I can. Immersion will never die! -
Ouch that does sound scary.AnIntellectualClone said:What annoys me most of that notification isn't the notification, but that it sometimes stays there the whole match. Come on, fix that bug.

The issue I’m facing, is that when push comes to shove- and a shove has already become a bloodbath (minus the blood); Players are simply stuck between deciding: Do I want to “win”? Or do I want to play My way?
Both can offer certain players “fun” but one way or another; There will always be players who’d rather “win” more than anything- even if that means “putting out other players”.
[I like to play fighting games, but I suck at them. I still play them, but when I’m facing my friend who just destroys me every game = it gets boring (“sore loser?” It just gets old). So... we play something else. Dead By Daylight seems unable to separate these extremes (As is a difficulty with any game)] -

Perhaps Time is so convoluted; All we can do is wonder when not why. -
I like your creations detective. They’re thought out, and always make the punchline.
-
This whole chapter seems very well-balanced. The Killer’s power seems so unique and punishing, yet not overwhelmingly too powerful. The Abomination’s perks seems to compliment his story well and have very interesting trade-offs and conditions (I like the narrowed Field-of-View effect- like you have intense focus).
The Facility seems really cool too. I love the idea of having small aesthetic effects that make an environment “come alive”. Plus, if the map isn’t quite as wide as Gideon Meat Plant, then I feel like 5-6 levels would work excellently. I’d love to play KyF with some friends on this kinda map and just be immersed (not “gen-rushing”).
I’m just curious, what is your current standing in Dead By Daylight? Do you play a lot? Would you consider yourself “good” at it? And do you simply have a passion for the game/concept?
Again, very good creation. -
I really like the idea of an AoE attack. It’s very unique and would make for scary confrontations. Although his Movement Speed would have to probably be a tad slower maybe?
-
I like the idea of a “reverse Carter’s Spark”. It’s really unique and does make the Killer’s first (delayed) chase really frightening.
-
I don’t know~ not ALL Killers run Iron Grasp, and if you position yourself correctly; Killers just won’t make it.Nightmare_Eyes said:@TheTimeMachine said:
Nightmare_Eyes said:But said hook may be miles away!
They never are.. especially with most killers running Iron Grip. Getting across the map with a survivor is a cake walk.
(I use No Mither to get back up if a Killer knows they can’t hook me
-
But said hook may be miles away!Nightmare_Eyes said:They can still carry you to a hook they can see. Boil Over is really a useless perk.
-
@SasukeKun I very much agree with this. Even as Killer, if I chose not to role play at low ranks, it would just remove any chance for immersion on the part of the survivors.
-
As we get more and more technologically advanced in our day and age; Certain simple things become more more harder to accomplish.
-
@Jack11803 I can’t seem to figure if you’re sarcastic or not or on which part... but not being able to see those hooks can be disastrous on the part of a Killer (if only they didn’t know they were being hidden).
-
Hm I’m not sure how I’d feel about any solid buffs to the perk, but maybe a Bloodpoint bonus? Sounds good and fair to me.
I for one, like Monstrous Shrine as it is because it makes the basement hooks so much more dangerous. -
@starpilotsix I’m really baffled by gamers throughout the world in this age. I remember when games were a relaxed way to play and have fun.
(Maybe not “relaxed” for Dead By Daylight, it’s a horror game. Maybe I’ll go play Civalization...) -
Maybe Dead By Daylight wasn’t a game the developers thought people would min/max the crap out of...
I mean, I remember back when friends would play each others’ house and MAYBE there’s that one kid who’s really good. But if he was being a douche or just making things overly unfun; You better believe he/she was out the door! -
@DocOctober I feel your pain. I’ve been thinking about going back to rank 1 as Killer (to prove that Hex: Ruin isn’t “required” in high ranks), but you’ve me want to stay at rank 20.
I like to get points, but most importantly; I like to give low rank survivors a fun and impartial experience. (Something that is rare due to Killers acclimating to survivors min/maxing game)
It sounds like this “de-pip” squad has unleashed havoc by spreading news on: “How to “Win” as Survivor”
(It was a matter of time as players got “better”; Not to point anyone out as the sole culprit)
-
I always believed the purple rarity one to ONLY give the benefit of an extra Jigsaw box. While the green rarity one increases the death timer and creates the extra box.
It only made sense that way to me, given the rarities and which one should have the “penalty” (increased death timer). -
A whole new way for a Killer to chase or “kill”? That would be interesting- much like The Nurse. It would be... well, just interesting nonetheless.
