As a Silent Hill veteran from those days, I'd say a big fat NO.
I agree with @TheShape78 , Pyramid Head only belongs in Silent Hill 2. He's not a monster/slasher/boogeyman, he (and Maria) only "exist" because of James' actions.
IMO Silent Hill 2's story and characters represent the pinnacle of Horror in videogames and the awful movie was already a huge disservice to the franchise.
No one from "back in the day" SH would want Pyramid Head being kited around waist-high debris and have chunks of wood dropped on top of him like the rest of the chumps, only to get teabagged at the exit gates. It would make absolute zero sense.
This, amen!

Yes, they announced they are addressing pretty much every issue he has had in the ptb, and you can test it out tomorrow on the ptb.
-
They're aware of the detection perk issues.

What have you heard
Last week - Peanits made a post on a Ghostface thread where he listed off all the known issues he had at the time, and one of them was detection perks. He said he would pass it along to the team. Also, pretty much every issue on that list has been addressed with the new GF changes . I believe someone else said Peanits specifically pointed out object of obsession in relation to the matter.
-
They are aware of the detection perk issues from what I've heard.
-
Th ghost sounds way better. It's short and simple, but still sounds cool and gets the point across.
-
As far as I know, they are aware of the detection perk issues.

Warning: This post is overly snarky. I'm so snarky because I care so much about the game.
----------------
I found this news post to be very interesting just because it shows how actively bad Ghost Face was before these buffs. I mean..... he was very very bad. So bad I don't understand it. But these are a lot of buffs and a really good start at least.
Audio
These changes are great. It just makes me wonder why the stealth killer had a 16 meter lullaby radius in the first place. 8 Meters puts him on same tier as Myers with M&A if they don't spot him. Same time, I'm very worried it's going to be very easy to spot him.
Detection
Being blunt, I have no frolicking clue how easy it's going to be able to detect Father Death here, because the previous state is not at all useful for any kind of prediction whatsoever. I'm very very concerned, because I feel like the ease with which people notice Myers and the Pig and have gotten used to them now will have already poisoned the well for Ghostface here. At the same time, I'm currently doing that one gif right now when someone says how hard it will still be to use his power. "So you're saying there's a chance."
It's also very nice that you won't be a giant red lighthouse while using your power if you aren't moving at worse than Nurse speed because you aren't crouched.
On that same note here, it has been confirmed that even after the buff he will still move slower than a crouched pig while crouched. The Pig already moves extremely slowly while crouched, so this is still a cause for great concern only exceeded by how in the world did he have an even worse crouched MS beforehand?
Stalking
He doesn't lose stalking progress until he damages or exposes them now. <- Basically means I'm going to completely ignore his crouching ability (except for teabagging) and just stalk people mid chase for actually exposing them lol.
Oh and the 45 seconds probably won't matter (to me) with the other buff since I can't see myself popping it until I'm ready to down them now. In which case 20s vs 45 seconds don't matter all that much.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the above completely ignores:
- Two of his perks are STILL complete doo doo.
- Object of Obsession will still make this man miserable.
Apparently they are aware of the detection perk issues, so there's that.

Yeah, Ghostface needs immunity to detection perks while using Night Shroud. Detection perks work as normal when Night Shroud isn't active, so the survivors won't be robbed of a perk slot.
According to a post from Peanits last week, one of the issues they're aware of for GF is the detection perk issue, so if nothing else, they are aware of it, it seems.
-
I'm a Silent hill fan myself , but Pyramid head has been needlessly over used. He was originally meant purely for Silent hill 2 to represent James' judgement , if I recall correctly . But all the fans went crazy over him so they started shoving him into anything and everything Silent hill related... big mistake . I wouldn't mind seeing Silent hill survivors though.

My boy Myers needs love. ):
Does he though? I'm a Myers main, and see no issues with him. In fact, I tend to do quite well with him.
-
I really like this idea.
-
I plan on getting him no matter what being the Scream/Ghostface fan that I am, sue me. But here's my suggestion , wait to see what all the changes are when he gets released next week, and if they don't sound good to you, then don't buy. If they do sound good to you, then it's your money, your decision to get him or not. Don't let all the negative GF haters sway you. Just my 2 cents, take it for what you will.

Save BP for his perks, even Legion is better than him. Just get his perks and that's it.
Except his perks aren't good either.

I've always believed it comes down to the fact that when you have a weaker killer, the survivor players who are immature enough to do so will just take advantage of this weakness by rubbing it in the killer's face, as they know they can get away with it because sadly there's nothing the killer can really do to stop them. They seem to get a high off of feeling superior. But when a killer who is actually a threat comes along, and these same types of survivor players realize they're actually in trouble, like they should be, they disconnect because they don't want to accept their fate and be beaten. In their little minds, it's all about being better than the killer. Funny enough , when this happens , it's the killer who gets the last laugh, as they receive a 'quitter bonus'. Even when these survivor types think they've won by leaving, they've actually lost.
-
The Ghostface devil outfit for sure, as it's the closest thing we'll probably get to the movie robe. Just need to change the red stripe to a dark gray at the very least, give it the white mask and Buck 120 knife, and boom, you have it :)

True but unfortunately not only this one. Sometimes I wonder why are most people like this and why can't they be nice? They even put toxic in their name like it is some kind of medal.
I know, it comes from immaturity , I'd say. Those people are what you might call a "Troll".
-
Unrelenting.
-
I agree, but let's be honest...this whole community is filled with toxic players, regardless of which role they choose to play in game.
-
I fully intend to buy the dlc, as a Ghostface /Scream fan. I've always wanted him in the game along side my favorite horror film killer Michael Myers, and now he is, for better or worse. I know he has had MAJOR issues in the ptb, but I also know the developers are going over this feedback and are addressing them, which unlike many here on this forum, I fully expected them to do anyway. Call me a fan boy, down vote me, I don't care. I have hope, and I WILL be buying on release day.
-
There's a couple interesting ones in there, but the one I'm really looking forward to is Ghostface's devil outfit. Just hope you can change the red stripe to a dark gray at least. Give it the classic white GF mask and Buck 120 knife, and you'd have the next best thing to getting the actual movie robe.

Hmm how many solo survivor releases are there? Also for those calling this a paragraph the devs started it is a chapter and that the supposed K+S+M formula for chapters simply is not true but that what the devs said not me
I find that very odd because up until Ghostface , maybe even Ash if I recall correctly , a chapter ALWAYS included map and survivor, while a paragraph was always just 1 character . So, I don't understand why the developers suddenly seem to have either forgotten this, or just want to over complicate things and confuse everyone by changing it.
-
I REALLY hope so. If not today, it should definitely be sometime this week as the dlc releases next Tuesday.
-
That's not a bad idea actually .
-
I'd like to see the old Universal movie monsters added. I think the best fits for this game would be either creature of the black lagoon or wolfman.

It says he did the drawing months ago. I.e before the arm was broken so thats no excuse for this lacklustre effort....
Fair enough, but I'm not sure why you're expecting an artistic masterpiece from a 10 year old. You clearly know nothing about kids, do you?
-
@Rex_Huin said:
Age and moral issues aside the drawing is only average and breaking your arm isn't really that bad. Certainly not deserving of videogame immortality anyhow.
It's a drawing from a 10 year old kid that broke his arm, what did you expect, the mona Lisa? Sad to see some people have no heart.
-
@Rex_Huin said:
Developer puts drawing in their 18 rated horror game so a 10 year old can see it? This isn't gonna fly...
The 10 year old isn't the only person who's going to see it, you know.

And Sidney deserved to be in the game as much as Laurie. Found this on the internet, but her perks would be something like: (Above this XD)
I completely agree, those perks do sound interesting to say the least. It may not happen, but it's possible they may get the film rights later on at some point in the future, and therefore add a Sidney paragraph . I'd be down for that.
-
@Mushwin said:
LOl @TheShape78 yes! i am actually watching it now it makes me feel ancient this film is 23 years old!
I feel you man! Great movie for sure!
-
@Ember_Hunter said:
Sadly, that's why this is a PARAGRAPH not a CHAPTER XD
This. Developers, please stick to chapters including map and survivor while a paragraph is 1 character only. It really isn't that complicated .
-
@Toxicity23 said:
I would have loved to see Sidney Prescott get released with Ghost Face. I wonder why they didn't do that though...
They didn't get the film rights apparently .
-
@Mushwin said:
The Father Death sounds a lot better then The Ghost Face or maybe he should be Mr Ghost Face lol
Tatum from Scream 1: "Oh, please don't kill me Mr. Ghostface , I wanna be in the sequel!"
-
That's a pretty cool idea.
-
It's true, in the Scream films the costume is indeed known as 'father death' a cool name I thought about them using in the game as well, but since they don't have film rights, that's a no go. Even if they did, what would the name be? The Father Death?
-
I'd either add a Halloween 4 Michael Myers, or the the Scream movie robe for Ghostface ...probably would go with the GF movie robe since unlike Myers he doesn't even have his correct movie appearance in game at all.
-
Myers main here. I use a movie accurate build on him...monitor and abuse, enduring, brutal strength, and save the best for last. It performs quite well in my experience .
-
Try using different map offerings.
-
Tried playing as trapper a while back, but it was a disaster . I main Myers, and usually do quite well with him. So I'm not sure if I'm just rusty on trapper's play style, or if he's just become that bad...maybe both.
-
Well there's a really interesting HP Lovecraft inspired horror game called The Sinking City coming out June 27 I believe, so I hope it's at E3. It's definitely on my radar. Looks to be a great detective game set in the 1920's, being made by the folks that did the Sherlock Holmes games. It also seems to have a major psychological horror vibe that seriously reminds me of the old Silent Hill games, especially Silent Hill 2 (BRILLIANT game by the way), which interestingly enough was one of their inspirations they say.

Which will be super underwhelming
I have hope, but we shall see.
-
The developers have already said they are aware of his issues, including the spotting knocking his power off, the loud noises he makes, and 20 seconds not being long enough to put down a survivor, among other issues . They said they are going over feedback and are working on him as we speak. They confirmed these fixes will be ready in time for the June 18 release .
-
It's possible but I would say that everything was pretty much revealed in the 3rd anniversary stream .
-
I can see them doing this. It looks like something right up their alley that would fit into the style of the game .
-
Completely agree. For some reason, Dead By daylight is the only game of this sort that has managed to be successful and despite what the nay sayers will tell you, has arguably gotten better, in some ways at least. The biggest competitor it had was F13, but the lawsuit killed that ultimately , which is pretty sad if I do say so myself . If I had to guess why DBD has been so successful and has lasted as long as it has, I would say it's mainly due to the wealth of licensed movie killers it has. It's a horror fan's dream to have a game like this where you can play as and against a number of horror icons.
Another reason I would say is because the developers are very communicative, and clearly have a passion for the game , two huge qualities any game for that matter needs to be successful . If that wasn't the case, then we wouldn't have gotten that huge 3rd anniversary stream they put a lot of effort into putting together . The developers get trash talked a lot, and it's a shame. Compare the developers of Last year to DBD. HUGE difference . The Last year devs have major attitude problems even with people asking a perfectly reasonable question , and the are not very communicative apparently. Also, unlike DBD, that game hasn't gotten an update in months, another reason why it is ultimately dead.
-
Sadly no. No map either I'm afraid .
-
@Horus said:
He looks so cool and scary just wish he didnt sound like a wind tunnel
I actually really like the sounds he makes when he gets stunned. It's very different and unique, PLUS it makes him seem even more ghostly .
-
I'm almost certain they are meant to reference the long strands of cloth the robe had in the Scream films, so I'm very happy they included them in game.
-
@MrDardon said:
I'd probably like to see a head tilt on Myers when he is about to get Tier 2 or Tier 3. That would be a good reference to his head tilts in the movies.
To be fair, he actually does the head tilt after he stabs a survivor.
-
No, absolutely not. It would be a very sick , twisted, and downright disrespectful thing to do. Imagine if you were a family relative to one of these killer's victims, and suddenly out of nowhere, a video game allows you to play as them, going on a killing spree...for fun. It would basically idolize them. Anyone who thinks that is a good idea is just sick...and less than human, dare I say.
