Yes please, would love to see a Halloween 4 version of Myers. Also, please try to add a solid black version of the devil outfit for Ghostface without the triangle :D
-
Yeah, mega Michael Myers Halloween fan here who knows all the ins and outs of the films and behind the scenes info. Can confirm that there are a number of film accuracy issues with DBD's version of Myers. The DBD Myers is supposed to be based on the 1978 version of the character. They got the coveralls color pretty accurate, including the black t shirt underneath, and even the popped collar. The mask however is not very accurate to the Halloween 1978 mask. The details aren't quite right, and the hair should be more poofy in front with curly strands on the sides. It actually looks more like the Halloween 6 mask. The knife is correct. Finally, the boots should not be brown, they should be black, not sure how they messed that one up. In terms of how he plays though, they absolutely NAILED it.

Pretty much what @ClogWench said. If you really think about it, this new character Danny Johnson being Ghostface fits with the style of the films where it's always someone different wearing the Ghostface disguise. In fact, I believe the description of the devil outfit even says "every Ghostface should have wore it". Though I do agree it would have been nice to get Sidney and a Woodsboro map, I think what the developers did was ok in my book. There's a number of nods to the films they put in there, so that's a plus.
Really, this is the interesting thing about Ghostface, there's a loophole that devlopers took advantage of. Unlike Myers, Freddy, Leatherface, etc. He's not just one guy that keeps coming back in each film, as "Ghostface" is just simply the name of the costume and mask that anyone can buy and wear to do their murdering, though in the films it's known as "Father death". So for the developers to only get the mask and Buck 120 knife, and create their own character under the guise of Ghostface, fits the style of the films perfectly. You could almost say this is Scream 5, in a sense.

I'm going to be brutally honest...if it weren't for the licensed movie killers, I would never have gotten this game. As a life long Michael Myers Halloween fan, when they added him along with Laurie and Haddonfield from the 1978 film, I HAD to have it. They TOTALLY nailed it too, with the music and his power. After that, I always felt that Freddy would have been a great killer for the game's style and lore, and one day, they announced they were adding him too. It was around that time that I realized they had already added my favorite movie killer Myers, but not my second favorite...Scream's Ghostface. I knew that if they ever added him, my life would be complete.
Just to have a game like this that actually let you play as and against my 2 all time favorite horror movie killers in the same game just seemed like a dream that would never come true, as I honestly never felt Ghostface would be a good fit for the lore. 2 years later, here we are, and, for the most part, they have finally added him as well. Sure he may not necessarily be from the films per se, but you can tell they really tried to put as many nods and references to the films as possible like the Buck 120 knife, hooded robe, the mori animation, the blade wipe, and even his back story (sort of).
-
Love that video!
-
Dr. Loomis from Halloween would be cool, but since we already have Laurie I doubt it would happen. I'd like to see Sidney Prescott from Scream added, but again, since they didn't get the license, that's not likely to happen either.
-
Sorry that happened to you. Sounds like he was a grade-A troll. One wise thing I learned a long time ago was when people like this say those kinds of things to you, it really reflects onto them, not you.
-
@TragicSolitude Yeah it really is, and I agree it'd be nice to have in game.
-
Kiskashi, yeah TOTS masks are great. I have their Halloween 2 mask.
-
As a matter of fact, Funworld actually makes a very similar mask for the Ghostface line called "Skele face" check it out here...http://www.trendyhalloween.com/SkeleFace-Mask-P26662.aspx?afid=5#.XQrZVvZFw2w
-
Ihatelife, Would be very cool :) Lots of potential for a Trapper mask, Huntress mask, and others. Also they make costumes and weapons so definitely some major potential there as well. They already make Myers masks from the movies, so I'd love to see them do a DBD version :D
-
Ihatelife, yep they do, but Trick or treat studios does as well, and their Myers masks are WAY more film accurate. Trick or treat studios also has Dead by daylight masks coming out later this year I believe.
-
Check this one out, it's called "Skele face", part of the Ghostface line of masks. Talk about terrifying. http://www.trendyhalloween.com/SkeleFace-Mask-P26662.aspx?afid=5#.XQrZVvZFw2w
-
Ihatelife, so do I. This is what I don't understand...they have the Funworld Ghostface rights, which is why we have the mask in game, yet Funworld also produces a Ghostface costume, so why couldn't they add it as well? To be clear, the Funworld GF costume is nearly identical to the one used in the films, but there a few minor differences of course, so it's not technically the movie robe, which SHOULD avoid any "movie rights issues", at least in my mind anyway.
-
They could technically add it, but may not because of the silly appearance it has, which wouldn't fit the tone of the game. Don't take that as me knocking the mask in any way, as I wouldn't mind them adding it, but I just don't see it happening.
-
Haven't tested it yet, but here's a movie accurate build I came up with for him...
Enduring
Monitor and abuse
Unrelenting
No one escapes death
-
I think in one of the most recent streams someone asked about this and they said they might look into it.
-
If you read the back story, you can definitely tell they were trying to make it sound as close to the movies as they could. With him stalking victims outside their house, then breaking into their house at night and hiding before he killed them. It even takes place in the 90's for crying out loud. Combine all that with his mori practically being straight out of the first movie , his blade wipe, having the Buck 120 knife, and wearing a long hooded robe with long cloth strands, gloves and boots, the way he holds the knife and runs instead of walking, and even his music in the menus is reminiscent of the films music...it couldn't be more clear. So what you really have here is a Scream dlc, the only things missing are the movie robe, Woodsboro map, and Sidney ...though I will say the devil outfit is pretty close to the movies robe, which is why I'll be getting that, just give it the white mask and Buck 120 knife and you pretty much have it ;)
-
Other than the Devil outfit, will Ghostface receive any more cosmetics in the future?
-
Yeah, if you read below that, it says it will be on the Xbox and PS stores as well, so I'm sort of confused myself .
-
I believe that's just a short visual icon that comes on screen if you get spotted, it basically shows you who spotted you.

H.. how.. were they not understandable before? Hit by pallet -> killer groan/screen shake -> immobilization -> realization of 'oh I'm stunned'.
What is happening to this game?
This. You don't need an obnoxious red flash to know you've been stunned.
-
Yeah I agree, I just don't get it...at all. There was pretty much no reason whatsoever to nerf him. It's almost like the devs heard our cries and buffed him for the ptb...Then they pull the rug out from under us and say 'Gotcha! Psyche !' Just before the official release .
-
Agreed.

You ask for constructive criticism, and then proceed to ignore all of it and set the killer up for five nerfs while buffing aspects of their kit that don't matter. I think I'm about done being nice and constructive, as are a lot of people. I'll just join the heaps of people that don't provide anything useful from here on out, as obviously the time spent trying to give detailed, logical breakdowns is entirely wasted.
Your balance team needs to be assigned elsewhere, or fired. I think it's time you looked into hiring people that give a ######### about the future of this game. Sorry to put it so bluntly, but I think these baseless, garbage changes really show where your internal team is at with their knowledge of this game. They're either incompetent, ignorant, or malicious at this point. Pick one, and I pray it's just one of the two 'we're idiots' options.
Oh, and before anyone says "but the changes aren't so bad, they're tiny." Regardless of whether or not they're massive, they've still gone and nerfed a killer who's likely mid tier at best. The principle, that's what matters here.
You tell 'em man!
-
Lots of good map suggestions here, but what about the main town square of Woodsboro that has the water fountain and pavilion in the the center of town? As for survivor , it has to be Sidney, no question. I like the other characters as well, but Sidney is the only logical choice.

I've heard 2PM EST

Quote we have not announced any nerfs
So the nerfs will be there at launch got it
Did you not read the rest of his comment? He literally just said that his saying no nerfs have been announced is NOT confirmation there will be nerfs.
-
Agreed, I fully plan to use it on him, as I think it not only helps with his stealth, but it just makes sense for the character from the movies.
-
I've always been a killer main, but every once in a while I'll play as survivor to mix things up.

I'm going off BHVR's Ghostface which is based on just a random guy since Ghostface can be anyone.
Gotcha. In that case, he definitely belongs in the category you put him in.
-
If we're talking about Ghostface from the Scream films, he would probably fall into the revenge category . Of course it's someone different in each film , but at least in the first one it seems to revolve around revenge .
-
Not that I know of. I really hope they don't nerf him, as that would be a big mistake , especially considering the vast majority like his changes according to polls. I think the reason why people are worried is because of two things...past killers being nerfed, and he's so good now that he should be left alone, and are therefore worried they'll nerf him .
-
My favorite stun noise isn't even on the list, Ghostface . I love how he doesn't vocalize a loud grunt at all, just a creepy calm breath. Really adds to his Ghostliness .
-

The only people I can see remotely caring to talk is Legion or Ghostface, Frank strikes fear in superior strength and agility and wants them to know that, and Ghostface just wants to laugh and make fun of the Survivors, maybe make for some small talk with Urban Evasion Nea, sneak with her for a bit.
Man I'm telling you, if Ghostface was the movie version , it would've been cool to have him say things like 'what's your favorite scary movie ?',or 'I'll gut you like a fish!'
-
As a Myers main and fan, I use a build on him that is accurate to the 1978 Halloween film, and let me tell you, it works.
Monitor and abuse
Enduring
Brutal strength
Save the best for last
-
Totally agree. It should also be darker. Not so dark that you can't see, but certainly a lot darker than it is now..it's just too bright and colorful , which doesn't exactly scream 'creepy atmosphere '.
-
As a killer main, I've always found David King to be a bit intimidating, with the way he stands in the lobby and how beefed up he is. So naturally it feels good to put him on the ground and hook him ;)
-

To be honest i see nerfs coming but it's because the detection is a little off.
I main killer and even I can see that for survivors the detection is a bit off, they can be pointing and staring right at you and it wont count. Ghostface can also stalk in a chase because again while in a chase the survivors for some reason wont be able to detect him even though they're looking right at him a lot of the time.
The main issue with ghostface is having a killers power rely on detection just makes them weak at base, Fixing the detection would make him weak but leaving it broken makes him strong. I don't see a middle ground being met to be honest.
Yep, that's another reason why that whole aspect should be removed, in my opinion.
-
I hope not, that would be a big mistake . No one wants Ghostface to go back to how he was. I hope they keep these new changes, but build off of them in the future to make him even better. This is how he should have been from day 1. Only a few minor tweaks can be made to improve him further .
-
Man, I feel the exact same way. Can't wait to get him!
-
There's a rumor that if they do another licensed killer, it could be him. The leaked sounds from about a month ago seem to line up with that as well.
-
Agreed. It can feel odd having to 'budget' your points like 'well I can't go lower than 500,000..but the most I can get is 1 million'.
-
No...that's not how this game works. You don't "fight" the killer, and for good reason..that's F13. This is a totally different experience ..a more horror driven one. By the way, this is coming from a fan of the F13 films, AND long time player of the F13 game .
-
Totally agree. In fact, I would hope this will be Ghostface's baseline, so they can only improve him from here.

If trying to make sure a killer is actually worthwhile to play and not full of bugs or glaring flaws is a hate wagon then I most people are on it.
Now, there are a lot of people who didn't express any constructive criticism, questioning or comments. That doesn't represent the majority of players even on this forum.
Yes, I agree, but I was referring to the people who seem to just complain about Ghostface no matter what changes are made...yesterday's list of changes proved that. Like you, I am all for making Ghostface the best he can be. I hated the way he was at first just like everyone else, and I knew he would be fixed, and for the most part, he has. Yet..people still complain.
-
I think they are coming sometime around September .
-
Yeah man, I already saved up my 1 million bp a few weeks ago :) No you are not dumb for doing so, in fact it's actually smart because you're not getting on the GF hate wagon.
-
Exactly, that's ridiculous . Makes you wonder if it's just a mistake , or if the developers were trying to make Ghostface weaker, especially considering the condition he started the ptb in...which is thankfully fixed now for the most part, but still... The only thing I can come up with is if you, for whatever foolish reason, wanted to create more challenge for yourself, but at this point all things considered , why would you want to do that? .
-
If it's him, I wouldn't be surprised ;)
