  • I will only buy them if they are a character I have an interest in, I couldn't care less about their power, perks, or the risk getting nerfed later. I just want to play as that character, simple as that.

Switch between a few killers, one is LF, so am down for a Tom Savini TCM2 cosmetic!!!

As far as Mikey, isn't his look the same from movie to movie? Blue boilersuit and a white Shatner mask?

For the most part, yes, Michael's appearance is largely the same in each movie. But each movie, the mask is totally different, except for the second movie, which used the same mask as the original film. Also, the only movies to use a Shatner mask were Halloweens 1, 2, and 4. The rest just made their own masks. Secondly, the coveralls are different in each film as well, in terms of how the fit the different actor who plays him in each movie, color, and details.

They could make the Pretty Lady cosmetic for Leatherface as well, fellow Leatherface main.

They could make different movie version of Michael, like 2018 Michael or Rob Zombie Michael.

This. As a Michael Myers main, I'd love to see them eventually add the various movie versions of Myers. Also, maybe give Laurie the brown skirt she was wearing at the beginning of Halloween 1978.

  • Ghostface, no question.

  • Michael Myers, the whole reason I bought Dead by daylight in the first place. Always loved the character and the films, well..the first 4 any way πŸ˜„

For all the kiddos saying Scream is overrated... they must be young millennials.

Scream is/was responsible for bring back the slasher genre/thriller horror movie. The genre really started to stagnate badly around Jason Goes to Hell or so in 1993. And it had been in decline before that for years. It started to fizzle out in populatrity and mass appeal in the late 80s. Around 1988 or so.

Scream was a good franchise, while dull at times, and not great, it was good. And the 1st movie was fantastic.

Scream isn't overrated. It's rated just fine. The Ghostface killer would be a cool addition, but his power is basically what the Legion's power is now. Quick stabs... as it is spoofed in movie off of a "Stab" movie.

The phone calling thing could work, and while I'd love to get Prescott in the film, I think it would be really cool to get Drew Barrymore's character instead.

    ^THIS! Thank you!

  • For my main, Michael Myers, I use...Monitor and abuse, Enduring, Brutal Strength, and Save the best for last. For his add ons, I use anything that increase movement speed while stalking, and anything that lets you see survivor auras after stalking them.

@theshape78 Nice find! Do we know who found it?

it does look legit. Usualy the fake icons that surface are to clean. BHVR offerings and such have a grainy feel to it like this one does. So I feel it's legit. But knowing the source would be great.

Yes, I believe it was discovered by the Reddit member that posted it. Here is a link to the page...https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/bi7tx7/was_looking_through_the_games_files_while/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

  • Found out about this on Reddit. Apparently, someone dug into the Dead by daylight game files, and found this icon of a graduation cap, and it seems to be for an offering, which would suggest it could be related to a high school map...Woodsboro high? πŸ€”

Thanks, i was far to lazy to type things out with that kinda detail.

No problem man, it REALLY needed to be said πŸ˜„

  • The most SATISFYING thing in DBD...well, I know it may sound odd, but seeing those bars fill up for the various actions you do in game (hooking, repair, heal, etc) is satisfying to me. Also, getting a good, solid hit on a fleeing survivor feels so satisfying as well.

Those tweets were from a year ago.

Ok, let me clear this up. Yes, last year R.J. Torbert (who owns rights to the Ghostface mask), responded to an individual on Twitter who basically said "Hey R.J., you need to try to get Ghostface in Dead by daylight". To which R.J. Torbert responded with "Working on it...stay tuned. In fact, when it's ready, I'll let you announce it, how does that sound?" followed by a wink and smiley face. Flash forward to this year on April 1st (yes, I'm well aware that happens to be April fools day) R.J. Torbert posts a message on Twitter saying the name of the individual who asked about Ghostface being added to DBD last year, who he had promised to allow to make the announcement, basically saying this.."(name of the individual he allowed to make announcement) will be making a major Ghostface announcement on May 28, always keep your promises." Again, referring back to last year when this individual asked about Ghostface being added to DBD, and thus being allowed to make said announcement. To make this even more credible, May 28 just so happens to line up perfectly with the release of the next DBD chapter, which would be teased with this announcement on May 28, tested around June 4, then released around June 18 or so. If that does not convince you...nothing will.

@TheShape78 oooohhhhhhh.... Not a bad idea. You could tie it to a generator even. Kinda "calling it" and appearing there after a couple seconds of eerie music/ sounds.

    Sounds like the ones found.

    nice one sir.

Thank you! Wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not, being so similar to the Nurse and Hag's powers, but it was all I could come up with πŸ˜„

You are talking about the sound files. Those sounds don't exactly point to pinhead. They do kinda sounds hellrazorish, since they sound electronic and not made with real instruments like scream did. But i think that's a studio choice that people are reading to far into. Plus the sounds could work for Scream as well.

Add into it the tweets from the liscensing officer for ghostface stating that the guy asking for ghostface to be in DBD will have a huge ghostface announcement at the end of next month because he keeps his promises... Then pulls them down a day later?

It smells like he got a little to excited and BHVR was like "hey, let's get the dlc done first"

Agreed, I'm not buying into the Pinhead stuff either. I feel that it could be fake, not saying that it is, but there's a good chance it could be. Compare that with all the evidence we have for Ghostface on the other hand, which is far more convincing. Still, I just don't know what power Ghostface would have. The only thing I can think of though, would maybe be something where if he's at a distance from a survivor, you activate this power, and basically highlight a survivor, and press another button to select them. Then, the survivor would hear a 90's cell phone ringing for a few seconds, and Ghostface would basically appear right next to the chosen survivor, if that makes sense. Something similar to the Nurse's power, or the Hag's jumpscare ability.

They said in the QnA that they want Legion to run around tagging multiple Survivors, but they are too scared to give Feral Frenzy the necessary speed and duration to make that viable.

I've been playing double Duration add-ons on the PTB and Survivors are still simply outrunning FF if they have any kind of headstart. Then you can't use FF for ages afterward because you need a full charge and there are about 100 different way to lose the charge without even using FF.

I wasn't aware that was the way Frenzy was intended to be used until I saw that stream the other day...and there lies the issue with Feral Frenzy. If I'm using this power to go after a survivor I've found, why would I hit them once and let them get away in order to go find someone else, who could frankly be on the other side of the map for all we know? The power seems to serve a purpose, but only in the off chance that you happen to find yourself surrounded by a group of survivors, which is almost never, at least in my experience.

  • I DEFINITELY want a Scream/Ghostface chapter, but if it's from the TV series and not the movies, I'm going to be VERY disappointed. REALLY hope they don't go that route. Yes, season 3 may use the Ghostface mask, but like Bbbrian2013 said, the map and survivor would be the main issue. Also, they would likely base his perks, add ons, abilities, etc. on the TV show and not the movies, again, something that would annoy me greatly.

  • Quick question about the dedicated servers. Perhaps this has already been answered elsewhere, but how will they change the way you start/get into a game? As it is now, the killer player is the host who starts the game, and survivor players join a game. To my understanding, the main purpose of dedicated servers is to get rid of the need for a host, so I'm just curious how the process of getting into a game for both killer and survivor will change when they arrive.

  • I think they mentioned the console version having issues with the lunge accuracy in the stream yesterday, compared to the pc version. As far as the frame rate goes, I thought that was supposed to be fixed ages ago?

I feel that a good Halloween video game is long overdue. Its time that Michael and company had their own game. 11 and likely counting movies worth of material would definitely make for an interesting game.

Totally agree. Could have all the different versions of Michael, and different movie locations, etc. Would be awesome, and I'd buy it in a heart beat.

  • Perhaps I'm biased, as I am a Halloween/Michael Myers fan, but I don't fell anyone can argue that the Halloween chapter is probably the most well done of the movie based chapters. It has the music from the 1978 film, and in my opinion, they absolutely NAILED the character of Michael Myers with his creepy stalking before he strikes, just like the '78 film. And you have Laurie in her iconic outfit from the '78 film as well. If you're like me, and are a fan of Michael Myers/the Halloween franchise, specifically the original 1978 film, you owe it to yourself to get the Halloween chapter dlc. The rest are good too of course, though Leatherface is clearly a cash grab, pretty much being a glorified reskin of the Hillbilly.

  • I honestly have no idea what they do for his power, but one thing I will say is I think his default movement animation should be running, instead of walking. I don't mean his default movement speed should necessarily be all that fast, maybe just a slight amount, but nothing major. The reason why I think they should do this is simply because in the Scream films, Ghostface runs after his victims, rather than walking. Another idea I had was to replace the heartbeat when he's near a survivor with the sound of a 90's style cell phone ringing, that's really the only logical way I believe the cell phone could be implemented. And of course, Sidney HAS to be the survivor. To use anyone else would honestly make no sense whatsoever.

  • This is very interesting. One thing I've always wondered is where do the survivors go to when they escape through the gate? Do they go back to the real world, or do they just find themselves forever trapped within this nightmarish world, just they're safe for the time being? Another question, what lies beyond those gates?

  • Yes, and not only that, but it would also be so satisfying to see the Entity brutally kill rage quitters 😈

  • I like the idea as well. You already get a "quitter bonus" after the game if they disconnect, which is nice, but it's not as much as a sacrifice, so I'm all for it personally.

  • The issue with shards is they take so long to earn, and when you do get them, it's not nearly enough. So frankly, you'd be better off just paying with real money, unless you want to spend who knows how long saving up shards.

@TheShape78 yes, killer gets a d/c bonus, but it's not NEARLY as many points as you get for chasing and hooking them.

    That's very true.

  • @Incirion said:

The worst ones are the ones that d/c as soon as they go down @TheShape78

All they need to do to fix the D/C problem is make people wait X amount of time to join a new lobby after they d/c, increasing exponentially for each d/c. D/C once, wait 5 minutes. D/C a second time, wait 10 minutes. A third time, wait 15 minutes. etc. With say 5~ games without a d/c to remove one stack.

Yes, those are probably worse actually. I like the sound of your idea too, something should be done. I find it funny that they think they have the upper hand by disconnecting, but in reality, you the killer end up getting a quitter bonus at the end of the game, so the jokes on them I suppose πŸ˜„

  • Don't listen to them. The problem isn't you, it's them. They're trolls, who feel entitled to an easy victory handed to them on a silver platter, then proceed to tea bag you just to rub it in. And when they don't get that, they send you hate mail, calling you foolish names because they're upset they didn't get their oh-so-precious so called "victory". They can't seem to understand the natural order of things...a brutish killer is bound to kill you eventually, so you're not supposed to have it easy, nor should you ever be guaranteed to escape. You're playing a horror game where you're trying to escape a killer, so yes, you are going to die. It's so simple, I can't for the life of me get what is so incredibly hard to understand about that simple fact.

  • My killer main is Michael Myers, and my survivor main is Ace 😎

  • I personally use both Enduring AND Brutal Strength on Myers for 2 reasons...1, because they're good perks for any killer, in my opinion, and 2, because they both fit his character perfectly. Enduring fits because in the movies he couldn't die, and Brutal Strength fits because he clearly has some form of super human level strength in the movies. My perk loadout for Myers, which I never change, is...Monitor and abuse (a must for Myers), Enduring, Brutal Strength, and Save The Best For Last, as he also needs an obsession to be more film accurate, plus after it's rework, STBFL is pretty decent perk anyway.

  • The life of this game has always been filled with many ups and downs. Things have been bad before, and will be bad again in the future, I'm sure. Right now is no different. Things will get better..for a while, anyway. Seems to be the nature of this game, I guess it's just something you can have to accept and get used to. I do agree on Mathieu doing the trailer narrations though. I remember the first trailer he didn't narrate, I was expecting to hear him, but then I hear this new guy, and I'm like, "wait, who's this guy? Where's Mathieu?" I wonder why he no longer does them? In any case, I hope he will start narrating them again, it's really not the same without his voice.

  • I have never liked the swamp maps, simply because to me, they are by far the most bland, dull, uninteresting maps in the game. All the other maps have more style and atmosphere in my opinion.

  • Totally agree. The worst are the ones that disconnect as soon as you put them on the hook. I thought they started banning people who left games repeatedly though? I clearly remember watching a developer stream where they talked about it.

  • Oh I see, thanks guys.

  • Ok, please, someone explain to me what the issue is with the Legion. All I've seen since his release are people complaining about him, and some even going as far as to say he's the worst killer in the game, and yet, literally every single video I've seen of Legion gameplay, even from months ago when he was first released, he seems to dominate, getting hits on survivors like crazy. Now I have personally never played as the Legion, though I must admit, I am seriously considering picking up his dlc chapter to try him out for myself at some point, but I just don't see the issue. Someone please enlighten me.

  • What makes you say that? Not saying you're wrong, but I don't feel like they would make that mistake, as that is not THE Ghostface mask. Apparently, the show couldn't get the rights to use the actual Ghostface mask, so they had to just make their own mask instead, but now they do have the rights, which is why season 3 will supposedly use the actual Ghostface mask. Speaking of which, the man who owns the Ghostface rights is the one who made that response on Twitter that suggests Ghostface will be added to DBD, as well as the May 28th announcement, so if he is indeed added, and that guy is involved, then the original mask used in the movies would be used. To use the TV version would be a HUGE letdown in my opinion.

  • I've heard the complaints, but here are my thoughts. I think what really matters most here is we finally have a fix for an annoying issue this game has had since day 1...when playing as killer, either you kill all but one survivor, OR all but one survivor escapes, and now it's up to you to search the entire map endlessly for who knows how long just to find the last survivor who, for some reason, won't just escape and end the game already. Knowing that this new endgame feature gives them just 3 minutes to do that, or they die, is literally all I care about. Can't tell you how many games I've had where I circled the entire map countless times searching for them for as long as it took. The endgame is a most welcome change in my book.

  • MAN, I hope this is all true. I anxiously await that day, May 28. If it turns out to somehow not be the case, I guess I'll just have to settle for the LegionπŸ˜• But then again, how can you argue with that, when the man himself who owns the Ghostface rights/license, and even writes Scream stories, replies to "you should put Ghostface in DBD" with "Working on it, stay tuned" followed by a smiley face? It may not happen, but that exchange pretty much convinces me it will, most likely. I guess we'll just have to wait and see on May 28 what this "major Ghostface announcement" is.

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Keep in mind i even tweeted paulie this a video game for scream is in development

    https://www.ghastlygrinning.com/archive/2018/1/5/breaking-scream-the-video-game-in-development

I heard about that. Sounds awesome, but I don't believe anything came of it, sadly.

  • To be frank with you, I don't understand why Michael is the only movie killer in the game to have his own film music. That Scream chase theme does sound like it would make a good one though, if they ever do add Ghostface, something that I am SERIOUSLY holding out hope for, especially now that there's some legitimate evidence that he could very well be added.

  • For what it's worth, the Enduring perk might help reduce the longer stuns.

  • Please for the love of all things holy, let this happen! Everything listed here seems WAY too convenient for it to not be happening. I grew up with the Scream trilogy, always loved Ghostface. In fact, he's in my top 3 movie killers...#1 Michael Myers, #2 Ghostface, #3 Jason Voorhees. I've always wanted him to be added to the game, though I'm not sure how they would explain his presence in the lore, or what his power would be. The only way I think the cell phone could be implemented is by replacing the heart beat heard when the killer is near, with a 90's style cell phone ring tone.

I don't understand the hate this community gives Scream/Ghostface. If it wasn't for the first Scream film in 1996, a time when the horror genre was pretty much dead, then it's very likely we wouldn't have had a resurgence of horror films. Plus, Ghostface is pretty much an icon, up there with the likes of Michael, Freddy, and Jason. This game already has my favorite movie killer, Michael Myers, but if they add Ghostface, my life will be complete :)
