It's funny because I'm on PS4, playing since the 2017 release like you, but I have the exact opposite situation . I never really have any trouble getting into a game as killer, but for some reason, it takes forever to get into a survivor game . I'm not in that rank range though, maybe that has something to do with it. And who knows, maybe dedicated servers will address this.

Apparently , that still seems to be the case, but the 3rd anniversary stream schedule listed Ghostface as 'chapter 12', plus it's time for the next full chapter with survivor and map to be released anyway .

It makes sense to me to have button mashing while struggling, after all, it's called 'struggle' for a reason. Though I agree it can get tiring. I like the idea of just holding the button.

I am disappointed the live stream schedule seems to confirm no Scream involvement as was speculated. Only Fun World is on board.
I wonder why Lantern Entertainment said no? They have the upcoming season 3 of the TV show (which secured the rights for Ghostface from Fun World) later this year. Having Scream IP in DbD would've been great marketing.
Hopefully the positive reaction to Ghosface in DbD will convince them to give the devs the black robe from the films, Sydney Presscot, and maybe the masks from the TV show and Scary Movie at a later date.
Agreed, but in the future they need to make it perfectly clear what constitutes a 'chapter' and a 'paragraph' so this doesn't happen again. Paulie Esther said there's a chance they could potentially get the rights to add them later, assuming they're not in the final version already.

That is true. Paulie Esther said in his videos that if there is no map or survivor , they COULD potentially get the rights to add them later, along with the movie robe, but who knows. Just sitting here holding out hope and crossing my fingers. I mean, even the stream schedule listed it as 'chapter 12', so there should be a map and survivor . We'll just have to wait and see.

Yes, and especially when the movies which it is based upon has the perfect survivor and great map possibilities, let alone reinvigorated the horror genre when it was on it's death bed.. It would be a missed opportunity indeed.

Well, I find it interesting they didn't mention a survivor, but I'm still holding out hope regardless. If it's a paragraph, it's a paragraph . If it's a chapter, it's a chapter. The fact is, none of us know for sure which it will be.

Yes, I'm well aware of that, as most of us here are. I believe he is mistaken , as it has always been well established that a 'chapter' includes a map and survivor, while a 'paragraph' does not, and all evidence suggests this will indeed be a chapter. The only reason people believe it's killer only is because that's all that was in the leaks, which are not final or finished anyway . That does not mean there isn't a map and survivor as well.

Totally agree. I like a rare leak as much as the next guy, but this is just ridiculous . They REALLY need to do something to prevent any further leaks in the future. It really ruins the surprise, which is what I like. Surprise reveals that legitimately excite me are VERY rare, but these constant leaks sure aren't helping.

I'd like to see the old Universal movie monsters like creature of the black lagoon or wolf man, maybe even dacula or some sort of vampire. I think they would fit very well.

I loved the second movie in that we never saw Michael kill absolutely everyone in the hospital or slash the tires on the cars but that scene of the silent halls and the entire hospital being empty we know he's been at work, working his way to the final attack on Laurie. I loved how different this was to other slashers, he showed thought and planning, a dedication to the craft. They lost all of this in the 2018 version imo.
We never saw him repeatedly stabbing violently in the originals, he was too present in the recent and his kills meant nothing, they were all random/thoughtless. He was always a work in the background killer working his way to the epic confrontation with Laurie, instead we got what I like to call "Jason Myers" where it's all violent kills and not a brain cell or moment of planning in sight sadly.
They did okay with Laurie but as far as I'm concerned the new movie took away a lot of Michael's character. (James was great and it's cute to see him work with Nick, it was just like they ignored Michael's "style"/character and it became a little more like a traditional generic slasher killer)

@TheShape78 Wow... same. It didn't feel right to me, didn't feel entirely like everything I love about Michael's character/style. I'm so glad someone felt the same way. The original will always be my favourite too but this is a nice option for those who loved the new one or want to mix it up like you mentioned. I did like the suggestion of the blood "tears" mask from the 2nd movie (but RIP vision)
Darn straight man! The original is my favorite as well, and my favorite horror film in general. 2018 just didn't capture Michael 's character well at all. Not enough stalking, and they show him WAY too much. Agreed on the Halloween 2 1981 (my second favorite in the series) blood tears. Personally I'd like to see them add Halloween 4 and 5's versions of Michael .

Life long Halloween Michael Myers fan and Myers main in DBD here. IThis fits pretty well but I prefer the 1978 version we have now, though I do agree if they added 2018 content, it would be a nice optional chase theme. Lots of people really like the 2018 film, but it just didn't do it for me, so I honestly couldn't care less if they add 2018 content or not. Again, that's coming from a life long fan of the franchise and character . I WOULD like to see other film versions of Myers added though.

Agreed, but you can also buy them with shards. Of course, it takes an eternity to earn enough of them to do so. I'd just pay and be done with it.

I love Beetlejuice, but I think he'd be a bit too silly for DBD, not to mention he isn't even a 'killer'.

How about no. If no one can use the perks they want, then why would anyone play, let alone have fun? You're basically requesting they take out a core element of the game.

True, I agree. It only makes sense to give a movie killer their movies music. About Ghostface though, obviously it's not final, but I don't think his music from the leaks is from the films, though it has a similar sound at one point. Not sure if anyone can confirm what film the song is from, if any.

This. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE BATTLE ROYALE. They keep cramming it into games where it simply doesn't belong, and it darn sure doesn't belong in DBD. I've never understood the appeal of battle royale. Played Fortnite ONE TIME and I was over it.

Always use Monitor and abuse for a practically nonexistent terror radius. I also recommend using perks such as brutal strength and enduring, as they will speed you up to keep the heat on a survivor. You'll be practically unstoppable with those perks, AND even better, they perfectly represent his character from the 1978 Halloween film.

I don't believe Ghostface will be released on May 28, as it has been confirmed that May 28 is the date he will be announced , not released . He will likely be released in mid June. As far as the leaked Oman file goes, I want to believe that is the Ghostface CHAPTER. In fact, if I recall correctly , someone went into the Oman file and it listed the killer as killer 16, and it also listed the killers power, with words like 'stalk' and 'stealth'. A couple weeks later, Ghostface is leaked, and wouldn't you know it, his abilities involve stealth and stalking. Need I say more here?

Well, actually the Ghostface announcement is supposed to be on May 28, then the PTB would be June 4, and it would release around mid June. That all adds up to me, so I'm not sure how they could release 2 killers in the same month.

I just think it was an odd choice to have him do that in the mori, considering he never did it in the movies. I guess they had to include the cell phone somehow, so there you go . At least it's a 90's flip phone and not a modern smart phone, just another hint this is based on the movie version of Ghostface.

Well that depends on what you define as 'fun' in this game. For me, as a killer main, the most fun I have are the games where all 4 survivors stay in the same portion of a map the whole game, focusing on only 1 or 2 generators in close proximity to each other. As a killer in those games, you get numerous hits and hooks in, talk about racking up points while having fun doing it. Those games are rare, however.

Think back to just before they nerfed Legion. They were warning people not to abuse the filthy blade/nasty blade exploit or risk being banned. Do you remember what else they warned us against? That’s right! Having 2 killers in the same match at the same time!
How could such a thing be exploited if there wasn’t some pre-existing programming making this a possibility in the first place? Imagine if this “chapter” is really a new game mode involving 2 simultaneous killers, plus 2 new killer characters which work well together, and maybe a super giant new map to haunt around on? 😈
As I think more about it, maybe the game mode IS the chapter and these new killers are the only ones to choose from for now. You may have read how they’re wanting people to volunteer to play vanilla (blank) loadouts here in a while? Well if 2 current killers go in with all the currently available perks, it might be way too unbalanced, so the new 2-killer game will be perkless. That or a new set of perks will be available on these killers specially designed for this mode only.

I mean, it has great map locations and a PERFECT survivor in Sidney. It would be such a missed opportunity. I want to point this out too. The developers themselves responded to the leaks not once but TWICE as a chapter. Yes I know what Peanits said and yes I'm well aware they also referred to Ash as a chapter...for some reason. I point this out because June is when the next chapter complete with survivor and map should release, so...connect the dots. Why release 2 killers at the same time?

Exactly. Since when is a single killer considered a chapter? If Peanits said that, it would seem he is either mis informed , or the developers themselves don't even know. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the full chapters listed under alphabetically ordered country names in the game files? Because apparently the next chapter was leaked as being listed among them as "Oman". If so, that automatically means it will be a full chapter.

I've seen this video, and most of the 'evidence' he presents is the same speculation people spread on these forums. As for morf, that is very telling, BUT (and yes, I realize how ironic it is that I'M speculating here) is it possible that if he saw all this 10 months ago, that things have changed, or added since then? In any case, I'm still holding out hope of a complete chapter with survivor and map. We'll just have to wait and see.

I used to play F13 , but uninstalled a couple months ago because the only people left that still play it now are trolls, at least in my experience. Shame indeed, I always preferred it to DBD if I'm being honest, but obviously I always liked DBD too. I'm just glad DBD is still alive and well. For some reason, horror multiplayer game s can't seem to hang around too long, but somehow DBD has. It'll be a sad day indeed if DBD dies as well. In any case, I miss playing F13 ...when it was good.

That is such a minor detail in DBD that I did not even notice the knife was flat. It really doesn't matter though, I'm just happy they gave him the animation at all. Also, his mori iS VERY similar to the scene in the first movie where he gets on top of Sidney, and slowly raises the knife over his head, before she kicked him off, so clearly the Ghostface in DBD is based on the movie version, not to mention the leaked perk 'simple formula', a famous line from the first movie as well. One more thing, the knife he uses in DBD is the correct Buck 120 hunting knife used in all the movies. Major kudos to the developers for getting all those details right and into the game.

I fully agree, but to address the link you posted, again, it is NOT confirmed anywhere that we aren't getting a map and survivor , nor is it confirmed anywhere that they only have the mask rights and not the movie rights. Blueberry, I'm 100% with you on this. As you said, there is literally no evidence whatsoever that suggests this will only be a killer paragraph. Yet, everyone seems to keep preaching out this pure speculation like it's the truth that they didn't get the rights to add the movie robe, map and survivor, which has NOT been confirmed anywhere. The only so called 'evidence' they keep falling back on is that 'if it wasn't in the leaks, it ain't happening'. Which is why I believe, especially considering it's not finished yet, and is a month away, that not everything is there yet. The main piece of evidence we have that this will be a chapter is like you said, it is time for the next chapter when it will be releasing.

I will agree that it is film accurate for Ghostface to hide then jump out and chase his victim, but perhaps you'll also recall the scenes in the first Scream film where Ghostface is stalking Sidney and Tatum. He even leans around a bush at one point...just like he does in DBD. Keep in mind also, that Ghostface is almost always outside the victim's house stalking them while on the phone with them, before he manages to get inside to hide somewhere . So really, the DBD power is actually pretty film accurate, and keep in mind that this may not even be final. Things could definitely change before he is released.

The price doesn't matter to me. If it costs more to buy the movie robe, then so be it. I'll buy it either way. That's how much of a Scream /Ghostface fan I am.
