You're joking right?
Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. Every Bubba I face is a facecamper tthat abuses his special ability to insta down everyone.
And his special ability lasts way too long. This is a fact. He swings about 10 times with that thing and insta closes gaps. And if you try to use corners to mess it up, guess what, he's not like Billy. Bubba can actually turn too. It's too strong.
“Abuses his ability to instadown”
what are you smoking? He is meant to instadown people

Nothing. Just because solo queue survivor becomes more bearable doesn’t mean it makes the killer role any worse.
Yeah it does, it makes survivors harder to kill, thus making killer harder, thus making it worse

Sounds like behavior has a lot on their plate.
Trying to manage a licensed tome while starting a new event, fixing old bugs, releasing a new chapter, managing changes - it can't be easy.
That being said, they really need to sit down and focus.
Honestly, I'm shocked a time and a half this tome wasn't pushed to June.
Not only is Chinese New Year knocking on the front door, but Ringu is coming up in about a month, they should focus on hyping up that chapter and making a tome that coordinates with it.
Missed PR potential as well as a soft sell for the Saw chapter. I'm glad the Pig is getting the love she deserves, but it looks like the team isn't giving her the attention as of yet. There's too much to do in too little time.
Behavior has around 850 employees

The problem with MMR is, even if it’s a PERFECT system, it won’t work if people aren’t playing one side *cough cough* killer so the MMR system has to expand the range at which people are included in the search for a lobby, rendering it ineffective

TBH it kinda was nescesary. Instascoping had basically no counterplay. Its like how they nerfed Pyramidheads PoTD because it could consistently put survivors in no win scenarios.
quickscoping has counterplay like how nurse has counterplay, it’s more if the killer makes a mistake they are heavily punished

"Dead for anyone who played him just to quickscope". That's the thing, if you were playing him just to quickscope, you're ignoring all the other strengths he has. His small hitboxes allow him to hit so really close shots that other killers couldn't make. The fact the he inflicts deep wound slows down survivors cause they have to waste time mending. He can reload anytime so he doesn't need to break the flow of chase to get his power back. If he lands a hit, he also forces people back to his location, meaning survivors don't make as much ground on him. His ability is also the only ranged ability where you can forcibly move survivors to somewhere more advantageous for them. There's also a really cool thing he can do when someone is going for a save against a hooked survivor nearing the first stage. Where most killers would have to play grab mindgames, Deathslinger can shoot them, hold them there until the hooked survivor hits next stage, and THEN hit them. And on the topic of faking shots, he can do it better than both Huntress and Trickster. Huntress takes longer to wind up and put away her hatchets, and the redeemer has a lethality to it that The Tricksters knives just don't have.
Deathslinger is a surprisingly flexible killer, and I think calling him trash just because one playstyle doesn't work on him anymore is unfair.
Yeah but in order to do those things you need to hit someone with the spear, something that was made way harder unnecessarily

Stop using the stats to rationalize an argument. They lack context and even the developers have said it isn’t the full picture.
A) devs are hypocrites and use stats WAAAAYYYYY to much despite this
B) they are using the stats to support the argument, it’s a fact slinger is ######### now and these stats prove that he isn’t played as much because of the nerf

Get good that’s the way to deal with them

Boon totems are totally fair and balanced, that’s why there’s Sooooooooo many killers playing right now

Oh yeah true, but this only has a 3.125% chance of happening, less than a self unhook

With old undying survivors could have to do up to 5 totems just to get rid of Ruin.
Because this is RUIN we are talking about, a lot of progress on gens will be undone. And during the time that the survivors are doing bones, the killer can find them.
This is made easy by the fact that undying shows you the auras of survivors near dull totems.
4*

imagine working on a gen right? Well imagine seconds later you see a red rocket launching, helmet blinded, America loving man coming right for you, you run away, thinking you can loop him for all five gens and T-bag him at the gates but...is he.......coming from the air? OH WHAT THE FU-. You get hooked not knowing at all how he did that you then see this mysterious new killer point his weapon at the ground and fire, he launched himself in the air and......what's he yelling? "SCREAMING EAGLES!!!" Now this....this is what we need in DBD.
his morí would HAVE to be him pulling out a pan and getting a random crit with it, killing and ragdolling the survivor across the map

I'm 100% down with this except for in one area.
They would have to adjust pentimento in some way to facilitate the killer being able to break totems. Perhaps hooking a survivor before being able to return to a self-broken totem.
Well it could work as you can only break a boon’d totem

The problem is on the Killer side with the visuals. This is pretty bad and I agree with this. It messes with my Hillbilly (I stop when I hit, as such when I get Dead Harded I stop and enter 3 seconds of cooldown), messes with my Infectious Fright (survivor gets hit, survivor should be down, I need to react fast to make the most out of Infectious) and more. This has to change.
Still I know as a survivor how bad "exhausted on the ground" can be and I am glad that this is gone. Next fix should be the visual update that you no longer make the decision based on a hit you never got.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2750007#Comment_2750007
Yeah...would be pretty sweet to see some of the Devs play their own game and experience some of out points there like hit validation on Dead Hard and other stuff. I know that they are very aware of this but it would show it.
Also I like those kind of streams because they make a feeling for the community.
but my point is the change actually buffed dead hard, Billy’s saw cancelling, nemesis tentacle not breaking a pallet when it should, etc etc
-
@Gwinty said:
I saw what the game was like back when and it is a rocky road of steady improvements from there.
The devs are not working fast, but they are working and most of their efforts yield a positive result in the long run. Many however need some or many tweaks down the line to work.
Now just form my experience, here are some good things that happened during my time:
- Better Borrow Time (no camping Freddy)
- Better Deceisive Strike (no "60 seconds of immortality")
- Hit validation at pallets and on Dead Hard (yes, I hate the visuals sometimes but it is much fairer)
- Better Struggle phase (less button mashing)
- Nerfed Keys
- Nerfed Moris
- Clown Rework (yes, still weak but now more interesting)
- Nerfed Freddy (too easy for too good of a result)
- Better Spirit (fair to face now, better add-ons)
- Fixed Blight (look what just an increase of vision can do)
- Reworked Wraith (tons more fun to face and play as)
- Trapper Rework (2 traps, as ordered)
- ...
Overall the game is improving. I do not want to go back to the time of 2016 where it first came out especially when I see certain perks or loops from back then.
I do not think that they only care about survivors. They are very aware of the need to bring in new Killers and make their experience worth it. Unlike some survivors the devs know that Killers are not NPCs. However increasing and balancing them is much harder than balancing a single survivor.
Also please note that one of DbDs best qualities is the ease at which you can pick up the game. Compare that to League of Legends, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter or other games and you will notice that you can get into DbD very easy. This opens the door for new players and should not go unnoticed. Which is why every "improvement" should not add to the entry barrier of the game.
I agree that all that is better except dead hard validation as it messes with killer powers too much

I am a gay asexual man (I only have romantic feelings towards men but I am not for the idea of having sex) and, yeah, I can understand the troubles people went through with people using Bubba's Claudette mask. I do not think face-camping was ever a part of the problem or a problem in its own right though -- it happens to be the thing many shitlord Leatherface players do, rather than something racially-motivated like the Claudette Mask. So while face-camping is something is an annoyance, I would not consider it a tool in the same level as the Claudette mask.
Why is ur sexuality important to your point

I think it's a brilliant idea, and I personally believe it's the exact thing that the lore points to, since it perfectly explains why multiple of the same survivor can be present in the same trial.
Imagine it like this: you walk into a room and then walk out. 10 minutes later you walk into that same room and walk out again.
Because time doesn't exist, you and your previous self could both walk into the room at the exact same time and interact.
This is exactly how it works in the realm of the entity, and four versions of Dwight, all pulled from different times at the campfire, now must survive together in a trial.
This concept also adds an element of psychological horror or torment to the universe in Dead by Daylight. How awful would it be to see yourself mutilated, butchered, and killed? and on top of that, the layer of uncertainty: is that you in the future? Will your decision to not save yourself in the present condemn you in a trial later on?
This is my preferred thought process, but there's also the idea of "infinite dimensions" and all that, so you could also chalk it up to literal different versions of the same character from different universes. An infinite number of Dwight, running in an infinite number of trials, an infinite number of times- if nothing else at least demonstrates the scale of the Entity's power and the horror of the story.
But I think the "it's just for gameplay reasons" has to be the most boring perspective imaginable to such an age old question. Especially when , Dead by Daylight is in the unique position to actually answer this question in a satisfactory way that makes perfect sense- unlike many other multiplayer titles who have to deal with that hiccup in their story and are in a position where they genuinely cannot answer that question so "it's just for gameplay reasons."
As far as Dead by Daylight goes, this is the last thing I want to believe about the lore of the core game. It'd be the absolute greatest disappointment when there's so much potential for unique storytelling. But to each their own I guess.
Exactly, however Mathew cote I believe has taken the boring route with it in his comment about not having a killer and survivor be the same person

I don't know what you're on about with this "It doesn't even hit 1 gen" nonsense. It regularly hits multiple gens.
The chance that it doesn't hit a single gen is about the same that you can't reach a scourge hook.
What games are you playing where surge regularly hits more than 1 gen
-
@Gylfie said:
I don't agree with this.
In the worst case scenario with old Undying you had to cleanse all five totems, which is something you still don't have time for. It's the same reason people complain about NOED: either you spend the time looking for all five totems and you die because now you don't have time to get the gens done, or you don't spend the time hunting for totems and you die to NOED.
To use a boon totem, you literally just need to find one totem and you can keep coming back to it as often as you like. On top of that, you will typically find at least one totem without actively having to look for it. You don't have to spend the time trying to find the more well hidden totems.
worst case is you had to cleanse 4 cuz you wouldn’t have to cleanse undying on its own
while yes, sometimes you have a well hidden totem or 2 on a map, the odds of both undying working 4 times and the last one being on a well hidden totem AND the odds of there being a well hidden totem are quite slim all together
