I agree. I'd just like both sides to have fun. I don't agree with ignorant claims of "this guy is too OP, nerf him" (which the OP did not say, I mean in general) nor do I agree with equally ignorant "counterarguments" of "he's fine, stop complaining, get better".
I've been having the argument about the new RPD map all day (all month, to be honest). "I hate it so it's bad, and because it's bad you need to change it". Such stupid, subjective comments. Everyone in this game should have the chance to enjoy everything, and finding a good balance is hard to do. If more people worked together to rationally and intelligently discuss apparent issues in an open-minded way instead of just clinging to their own personal preferences and saying, in short, "this is how I feel and how I feel is right" I think that this community would be a lot more productive.

No. When not panting from running, healing is 100% silent. Even breathing. Unless that’s also a bug.

My dude, my friend, my boy.
Killer mains on the forums are the worst thing to happen to this game. They want survivors to be miserable and hate the idea of both sides having fun lol
Asking for a busted add on to be nerfed will be met with nothing but "wraith is mid tier" "we're not gutting wraith, get gud" "Just listen better"
Wraith was overbuffed imo. With no add on balancing when his add ons were designed for his slower speed to make people choose between windstorm or another build. Hell i remember yellow all seeing and how bad it was.
People still act like Wraith is bad. He is a solo destroyer lol. I normally disagree with Tru3 for example but he's right about Wraith being very strong/Oppressive and slept on. (because killers on the forums refuse to acknowledge both sides get buffed and nerfed)
Thing is I’m one of the most “killer main” killer mains here. But I believe in fairness for both sides.

They should give claudette a Sheva skin from re5 or better yet would be Elodie as she kinda looks close to her
I would LOVE a Sheva skin. She hasn’t gotten enough love in the RE franchise.

Congrats on your new main. I'm sticking with Claudette. I was going to buy Claire when it they announced the new Chapter, but I'm disappointed with how she looks. She reminds me of Debbie Downer from Saturday Night Live. If they release a Carlos Oliveira skin that looks good and shows off some muscle, they will get my money and he will be my new main.
I think Claire looks near identical to RE2 remake.

Why are people overreacting so hard? Yeah Wraith is fine but that add-on is too strong.
Exactly. I’m annoyed so many are behaving like I said Wraith should be gutted when I specifically said I think everything else with Wraith is balanced. I’m talking about ONE add on. Just one. An add on that indirectly got much stronger because of all of Wraiths other changes.
-
@Killing_Time said:
Dude Wraith is fine... He doesn't need any dang on nerfs. You're too experienced to be whining about a C tier M1 KILLER! Accept your loss and move on man.
It’s BECAUSE of my extensive experience I can assess that this add on needs changes. Again I’m talking about gutting his entire kit. I’m talking about one add on.
ONE!
Did you catch that?
ONE!

I think increasing the range at which he shimmers would be a fair trade off.
Survivors can't hide from you but you can't hide as well either. Also would let shrewd survivors figure it out that hiding is pointless if they can notice the shimmer being further then normal
I think that’s an acceptable compromise, if it was increased by a significant distance.

To be fair, the aura range is pretty small. You usually will hear his loud footsteps and or see his shimmer.
Its also only effective at high loops or indoor maps but then again, the range is extremly short.
12m is not as short as you think. That’s a 24m range all around him.

Thats not a good reasoning tho.
Why do you think its too strong? Nothing should be nerfed just because it gets used alot.
Is all seeing blood the add on where you see auras within 12 meters?
For the same reason people find Stridor Spirit a problem: Wraith can ALWAYS know where survivors are, and survivors don’t know where Wraith is usually until it’s too late to do much about it because of how quickly he can close in until his Shimmer is visible.
Pretty much every Wraith wins with this add on since all his buffs.

While we're talking about nerfing add ons, why don't we nerf clown's cigar box? Which is arguably a worse offender than all seeing blood.
I actually have to agree. Lost a Survivor? Throw down an Antidote. Just hooked someone and want to know if somebody is waiting close by? Throw down an Antidote.
-
@Ruma said:
How would you change it?
I dont really see a problem with it but to be fair i rarely play against it or with it.
Because Wraith doesn’t need to run Windstorm if they don’t want to, I only see Wraiths with All Seeing Blood.

I have only played one game so maybe it'll change but I feel like I'm going to HATE the Zeds.
In that one match, I kept not being able to finish the last gen cause the zed kept wandering over to it. There doesn't seem to be anything you can do about them except wait for them to get bored and wander away unless your gen happens to be next to a pallet that hasn't been thrown...
Although I don't recall really any complaints about them when the PBT thing was happening so maybe I just got an A-hole Zed who was dead set against me doing that one gen.
I find them to be an intense addition. Never knowing if I’ll accidentally run into one puts me on edge. Same if I spot one while repairing. “Oh crap, is it going to spot me?”

They're not talking about the Legendary skin, they're talking about Leon's very rare outfit which is annoyingly now a set.
In this case Capcom probably don’t want Leon’s RE4 & RE2 looks misrepresented by allowing mixing and matching of either cosmetic piece.
-

Please, c’mon. Lifeguard Whistle turns the match into easy mode. It’s very strong with smart portal placement. It needed the nerf.

They’re not trying to rip anybody off. It’s probably part of the licensing agreement. Capcom probably don’t want instances of Chris running around with Leon’s head.

oh, and more undetectable. wooooo.
people don't want portal addons. i don't understand why they don't ######### get that.
That’s not true. I invest a lot of my Demo strategy into portal use, and add ons that help accordingly.

I see multiple add-ons that increase zombie speed.
-Brian's Intestine at Common
-Mikhail's Eye at Uncommon
-Depleted Ink Ribbon at Very Rare
-Shattered S.T.A.R.S. Badge at Ultra Rare
My mistake.

There’s only 1 add on that increases Zombie speed, and it’s an iridescent. The other add ons just increase the Zombies cone of detection and distance at which they can spot/hear survivors.

As a Twins main, even though I don't camp/tunnel. It's pretty much impossible to not slug, but bodyblock, using Victor to figure out survivors location, guarding a gen, & being in 2 place at once are some other things they can do.
I LOVE leaving victor blocking a loop, forcing the survivor to stop and kick him to pass, resulting in an easy hit from Charlotte.
-
@CornHub said:
It's been months since they've been released, & many new strategies and builds have come along with them. Given all this time I think saying "the twins are bad" is just false information.
I wish I could find my old posts, but I’m lazy and gave up.
I have done a complete 180 on Twins. Sure the first week I was having fun like most players, and expressed as such. Then I quickly HATED the Twins, thinking they were the WORST designed killer to ever be added, and I wasn’t shy about expressing that on these forums.
In fact I was very rude, which I’m embarrassed about now.
For some strange, masochistic reason though I didn’t drop Twins entirely. Like some sort of self punishment. Over the months I’ve played them for longer and longer stretches, from 1 match at a time, to exclusively for days on end.
And wow, I really love them now, and have a lot of success with them now, without the common scummy camping or mass slugging, EXCEPT where grouped up survivors basically make it too easy for me to ignore, making me an idiot if I didn’t.
I’d temporarily forgotten my own mantra that it takes my mths for new killers to come into their own and have their potential realised. Twins reminded me of this mindset. They’re a very deep, clever, well designed asset to DBD, with some smart nuances.
It still frustrates me how easy it can be for competent survivors to dodge Victor, but it is what it is. It’s always, ALWAYS incredibly satisfying landing a stealth pounce though. I can only imagine how badly those survivors mess their underpants.
-
@TAG said:
This isn't me saying yes or no to "Are the Twins bad?" because I don't play them, but I was under the impression that the one strategy they have that actually puts up results is the slug and/or camp strategy. What else is there?
Sometimes the majority is t always right. I’ve personally found that, unless the survivors serve themselves up on a platter, trying to mass slug with Victor is the best way to play Twins. The crush mechanic is the great big red flag that supposed to discourage players from doing this with Victor.
-
No. Of course not. You paid BP for them. It’s within the game rules to use them.

@FIEND8LOODED said:
Perks, add-ons, strategy? I'm curious about what the other 2-3 Doctor players on the planet run.
I have 2, and I rarely lose with either build.
- Distressing, Coulrophobia, Overwhelming Presence, Unnerving Presence. Basically an all TR focused build. Make healing difficult, Make item usage difficult, make skill checks difficult. Don’t be fooled. I’m not a noob, despite how noob this build sounds because it includes Overwhelming Presence. Little things like just starting to approach a survivor healing with a brown med kit can mean Overwhelming Presence & Coulrophobia both slowed their ability to fully heal, and made them run out of med kit charges. This can be especially nasty if you slug regularly. Any add ons are fine, although don’t use Calm with this build.
- Monitor & Abuse, 2 x Calm Add Ons, Overcharge, Oppression, Surge (or Dark Devotion). Basically the ultimate in constant survivor confusion as to how far or how close you really are. Always wait until you’re actually in a chase, when your TR is at its largest before setting off Static Blast. Then while Blast is on cool down you become Stealth Doc. It really messes with the survivors, especially with Calm’s periodic peripheral TR audio randomly playing at times.

Im quite surprise as a long time Killer player and you didnt know this.
Spirit with Nurse calling 2 with 24m aura reading range, if you spot healing survivors, stand right there and phase, they dont even hear it because TR volume at the edge range (20-24m) is so low. But since they're in your TR, they dont hear both TR & phasing sound.
Everyone says Spirit with Stridor is broken. Yes, its extremely op in chase. Since Im a Trapper main that not so good in chase. Spirit with Nurse calling is my choice and its super dirty.
I’m surprised I never knew this either.

What is fun?
What makes a match fun for you? Is it the reward of ranking up? Is it the 'journey'- the experience of playing the match? Is it successfully killing off four survivors without a single gen getting done? Is it getting all the gens done with no survivors killer? Mori killing survivors? Key escapes?
What makes the game fun for most of the players? What sort of 'interactive churn' makes the game more fun for ALL players in a match, the killer AND the survivors so that all 5 want to play the next match?
What are your thoughts on this question?
The constant unpredictable nature of each match, and that chaos can break out at any moment.
-
Sorry for the spam, but I love to help newbies.
Another tip until you feel much more experienced as a survivor is to never let yourself stay injured. Always heal or get healed whenever you can because eluding the killer is much easier in the healthy state.
This is why it’s a good idea to stick to one of the 4 beginner friendly survivors, as they each have ways of mitigating some of the dangers of the injured state.
Dwight - Bond + Leader means you can always easily find someone to heal you, and be healed quicker.
Claudette - Botany Knowledge + Self Care means you will always have a way to heal yourself if nobody else can help.
Meg - Sprint Burst + Quick & Quiet increases the probability of avoiding getting injured in the first place because of the extra distance you can create between yourself and the killer, with the slight chance of giving them the slip when you perform your next rushed action.
Jake - Calm Spirit + Iron Will allows you to be stealthier whether in the healthy state or injured state.
-
Something else I forgot to add earlier.
There actions that you can do as survivor that if it makes a load noise will the killer either an onscreen visual notification of the location of that noise, or an off screen indicator telling the killer where to turn.
Most are tied to actions you perform while holding the run button, such as:
- Vaulting while holding the run button.
- Entering a locker while holding the run button.
You also give the killer one of these location notifications whenever you:
- Sabotage a hook.
- Drop a pallet.
- Fail a skill check of any kind.
- Unhook a teammate.
- Anything that causes you to scream.
- When you remain idle, or remain within a confined area without doing any action for a period of time. Crows will start to circle overhead. When you have 3 of them, the killer will be told where you are.
You can sometimes use this knowledge to your advantage to either trick a killer, or draw them away from important areas.
Again, hope this helps.

The issue with Dying light is before you can get any significant value the game will be over. Its more of a win more perk
Many fail to see the bigger picture with Dying Light. It can be an incredibly oppressive anti-heal and slugging tool when paired with Sloppy.
Yeah, the Obsession is granted an altruism bonus, but that kind of relegates the Obsession into a forced position of babysitting everyone once Dying Light gains significant power late game, instead of helping with gens as much as they should because they don’t get the penalty.

Well my problem is that a lot of the time you just don't see it before you go down in the area and with special builds it can guarantee death for free. Also a lot of the time it's not even in good buildings lol like not every main building is strong, like the building on mother's dwelling.
Most maps the basement spawns in one of 2 locations. And some just 1 location.
Survivors are meant to keep some environmental and spatial awareness about themselves.
If survivors decide to jump on a gen in shack or main building, or lead a chase to one of these without being sure the basement isn’t there first, that’s on the survivor.
Also, there are now offerings that can show a survivor where the basement is right from the start of the match, for risk assessment.
-
@Altarf said:
Don't get me wrong, I like Surge (possibly too much) but it just really doesn't hold a candle to either of the two giants of regression. And it's probably the best of its kind.
-Oppression - Lack of information on what generators got hit, hefty cooldown, gen kick requirement and pitiful base regression make this underwhelming.
-Overcharge - Useless against players at purple ranks or above.
-Eruption - 90 second cooldown, basic attack requirement on a down, the need to kick each gen individually while off cooldown, all for a measly 6% regression. Could be decent if tweaked, but definitely not in its PTB state.
-Surveillance - One of my favourite perks but not really a gen slowdown perk, more of a tracking perk.
Are there any others I'm missing? Besides Corrupt, but calling it a gen slowdown perk is iffy at best, more like an early game slowdown and borderline tracking perk. I just wish there was a good third option - it doesn't need to synergise with Ruin or Pop or anything. And yes, you do need slowdown at higher levels, I wouldn't really call this negotiable.
I wouldn’t look at Oppression as a regression perk. It’s more of an info perk for high mobility killers. I.e. you’ll know where to rush next upon a failed skill check.
Yeah, Overcharge needs some love. It’s really only viable on Doc, same way Hoarder is only viable on Twins. Again, think of Overcharge as more of an info perk.
Honestly I don’t think we’ll see anything as powerful as Ruin or Pop ever again because of the risk of power creep (stacking). Dead Man’s Switch can potentially be very strong UNDER the right circumstances, but even that could use some buffs/tweaks.
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
Yeah, it's pretty much the only counter to BBQ & Chili that's a perk, it's just not that great. Chances are, the killer is going to hook other survivors more than 3 times, and if they have nurse's calling or lethal pursuer, you're already down a token out of three precious, unobtainable tokens.
That’s the entire point of it being limited though: the information it provides, which is very powerful. Once a token is lost the survivor should know why, and therefore know exactly what to avoid doing (or what they need to do) to avoid losing further tokens, or when tokens are fully expended.
-
@gendoss said:
Honestly the basement is such a bad game concept nowadays. It made sense as a band-aid to the problem of hooks not respawning back in the day but now it doesn't make much sense. Why is there a randomly placed area of the map where there is only 1 way up and down with 4 hooks? The fact that it's random I feel is the most problematic because sometimes you're just running a killer and then get punished because you happened to go down near the basement. I can kind of understand it when it's placed near a really strong tile like the shack but even then it's just giving the killer way too much power for a random spawn.
The basement is not a bandaid at all. It’s fundamental to horror that there needs to be locations around the map that are much more dangerous than other locations. The basement, under most circumstances, is supposed to be the most dangerous location to be near or in.
Its meant to create tension for a survivor either down there “what if the killer comes and checks, or already knows I’m here”, or being chased near the basement “oh god, if I go down I’m being hooked down in the basement.”
Without tension, what’s the point of even playing survivor?
