I believe the developers are being careful with how they change Hex: Blood Favor. It's a perk that disables the survivor's ability to defend themselves, while within its effective range. Vaults do help stall, but you have things like Entity Blockers and Bloodlust ruining all of that.
While I agree the perk needs some love, making a incorrect change will be devastating. If I'd change the perk, I would remove the cool-down and increase the duration to 16 seconds. As a bonus, each unique survivor hooked increases the duration by 2/3/4 seconds.
You’ve pretty much echoed my thoughts here, because I too can see why they’re hesitant about how they’d change it.

I recently got back into playin the Twins after getting their crown.
Im wondering if Victor actually does something to a Survivor after jumping on them or is he just a backpack? So many players just run around with him like he isn't even there.
If he does nothing, there should be some ki d of status effect added.
He’s a stall mechanic and tracking tool. And it works extremely well.

Why is field of view not a setting option? Why are perks like shadowborne the only way to adjust this?
Because DBD isn’t like other games. Survivors are MEANT to try and avoid detection to prolong how often the killers gets into chases and get hooks.
A wider field of view for killers makes it significantly harder for survivors to hide, which makes it a distinct advantage to killers, not simply a comfort thing.

Yeah it can. I've used autodidact in situations where the others are slugged and it can turn the tide back to the survivors or be worse than running no perks, depends if you got your stacks or not
But that strongly implies that many more factors attributed to the loss than simply not having the right Autodidact RNG. Saying the perk can “single handedly” lead to losses is a bit much.

Huh?
It's by far the deepest survivor mechanics in the game, and after working on it for literally thousands of hours it is still possible to improve more. Precision of the vaulting angle, slightly but not excessively delayed vault initiation, curving properly for the distance to be treated as 2.5m of something close enough straight line, fast vaulting on parallel walls - all of it is quite the opposite of "easy to understand".
I didn’t say it wasn’t deep. I said it’s easy to understand because the basics are based in logic.
-
@FatallyIconic said:
Literally, anything is better than Autodidact. Its a fun perk but if we are discussing actual usefulness bite the bullet is more helpful. Autodidact can single-handedly lose an entire game with it's RNG.
Bite the bullet just needs to work when someone else is healing you. At the moment it only works when you heal yourself or others. It should extend the effect to nearby survivors.
Lose a game... (eye roll). I never understand this claim.

This is more a tutorial/conveyance issue, rather than fast vaulting being bad. Including, for example, a little chime when you fast vault or a 'bad noise' sound when you slow vault, combined with maybe a visualization of the angle, wouldn't be terrible Maybe it could be an 'adder' effect to another perk with a useful effect to help make a 'tutorial perk' like fixated.
I don’t think that’s necessary. It’s pretty much based on logic.
Anybody could see this themselves by testing it in real life. You’re going to jump over something faster, and further when running straight at it. Attempting to do the same from other angles is going to slow momentum when engaging in the jump.

My Idea for it is to guarantee a safe heal. I can see the self care blocking bbq. Perhaps if it was blocking aura reading within 32 meters. to counter nurse's calling. but no indirectly nerf bbq aura.
If you want to counter Nurses Calling, then you’ll need to run an aura blocking perk with Bite The Bullet.
-
Everything about Wraith is balanced except “All Seeing” - Blood.
-
@Honourful said:
Bite the bullet is a nice perk and all but why would I run that instead of autodidact? I think that if bite the bullet hid you and the person being healed from aura reading it would be a very good perk. Thanks for reading!
It’s a good perk, it’s just currently bugged (not removing all noise sometimes).
Your idea has been discussed before. A Self Care user could abuse the aura blocking to have aura blocking whenever they wanted. Sloppy Butcher would make it MORE abusable.

But there are much better ways to deal with infinite loops, for example having one sprint vault that is slower than the current fast vault and one walk-vault that is the same speed would make it easier to understand for new players and easier to calculate for experienced players. I'm sorry for bothering you so late at night btw
It’s not that hard to understand. A fast vault occurs whenever your running directly at the window or pallet, and medium vaults occur when you’re running in from any other angle, or when you’re suffering from Hindered.

You're going to get the Main Event during a chase, and you probably can't use it in the middle of that chase because you'll have less than half your blades. Let's say you manage to take down the survivor, pick it up, hang it up, go to a locker to reload blades and be able to use the Main Event. More than 20 seconds have already passed in that process, probably even 30 seconds.
This "buff" sucks. It's the second "buff" that they do to him, and with the first buff they didn't even move him from Tier D. With this "buff" something tells me that he will continue there. Let them be as cautious as they want, but the months will go by and the Trickster will still be crap.
How about we test the changes, and then make conclusions.
Sure i’ve thrown around some guesses myself, but that’s based on my experience of knowing just how flexible half a minute in this game is.
-
@Orion said:
I still don't understand why Main Event isn't just a toggleable ability, like Oni's.
Probably because they’re still being cautious about how potentially oppressive Main Event could be.
Using your example, if a survivor manages to make Oni miss, there’s a window of opportunity to try and get away. Main Event, when active at opportune times with few LoS blockers is completely relentless. I can see why they’re still being cautious.
That said, 30 seconds is a much larger window than (I think) many players realise. It seems short when read, but in game that’s a long time. I almost always feel like I get LOADS done, or travel far while Dark Devotion is active for example, but that’s also only 30 seconds.
I think the 30 second window will make Main Event much more flexible than what some are imagining.

The survivor bonus bloodpoint perk rewards farming others not doing objective, while the killer one rewards for playing well and doing killer's job.
This one of the reason that I dont like playing survivor because even though that the power role,the game not rewards enough doing the objective as survivor.
Rescuing teammates IS part of the objective.
And if you want to see the killer when gens are completed, run Dark Sense.

@VexTheHex said:
Hmm. Victor is literally all the fun of playing Twins though, so I hope he is still playable. If he becomes AI only, I'll probably drop them from who I play.
I couldn’t imagine they’ll do that. That would remove exactly what’s unique about them.

@Laluzi said:
Eh. I think, as far as stealth killers go, Wraith is a way better user of Devour than Ghostface is. More mobility, will activate 3 stacks before Ghostface can against most teams, better shot at getting 24m away before overeager rescuers can make a play. Ghostface's ability to approach undetected is very dependent on the map and the alertness of survivors.
The only reason I'd run Devour on Ghostie is for that sweet mori of his.
Yeah but once he has his 3 stacks, DH is ridiculous on him while he’s in stealth.

I not really complaining. More if a joke/exasperated sigh.

Yeah but I just prefer premonition since spine chill is countered by looking the opposite direction. Plus I have had some bad memories of spine chill lighting up and me running into the killer. Premonition completely negates these too downsides.
Combo’ing both Premonition and Spine Chill is still excellent. Get a really good idea on what the killer is doing/where they’re coming from without the downsides of other killer detection.

All three of these addons have two things in common.
- They only work while Victor is charging a pounce.
- Said requisite was NOT THERE BEFORE.
All three of these addons used to work when Victor was idle and you were controlling Charlotte. Now they've been changed so that they only work when Victor is charging a pounce.
This is a hard nerf to these addons that make them literally, genuinely, absolutely pointless. Soured Milk and Madeleine's Glove were really good because Victor's Killer Instinct was determined by the range of his shrieks, similar to Doctor's static blast—if a Survivor could hear Victor, Charlotte could see them. So louder Victor = more tracking. Now, though? The addons actively hurt Victor by making it harder to charge a long-range pounce without being heard, or making it more obvious he's charging a pounce mid-chase. As for Drop of Perfume? Already a low-tier addon, but now it truly serves no purpose. After all, what's the point of making Survivors Oblivious when you're PLAYING AS VICTOR?
These are stupid, senseless nerfs that completely gut three entire addons. And once again, it was a Twins change that BHVR did not, in ANY BLEEDING CAPACITY, mention or tell to anyone in any way. This is the fourth, count 'em, FOURTH shadow-change to Twins since 4.7.0 and the THIRD shadow-nerf.
I get people don't like playing against Twins, but I haven't seen a Killer get this surreptitiously changed in the entirety of DBD. Even when they nerfed Pig 37 separate times, they had the integrity to tell us it happened. This is just ridiculous.
Oh wow. I didn’t notice this until you pointed it out.
These are very, very strange changes. It’s not like Soured Milk or Madeleines Glove were too strong.
And Drop of Perfume went from pretty good to more pointless than Haemorrhage.
-
It’s just the massive queues at the moment. The MM is having to more regularly expand the MM parameters to keep waits as short as possible (and they’re still long anyway o killer side).
-
@DangerScouse said:
Killers can't hold the game hostage so I guess they're doing nothing wrong by the rules of the game. Why isn't the 4th survivor doing gens during this?
They are definitely doing something wrong. They’re griefing, and trying to encourage working with the killer in order to grief another player.

@ITSCJ46 said:
Can we pls just move on without NOED, there is no legitimate defence you can say to keep this perk, it literally rewards bad killers with free kills, it rewards them for not doing their objective in the first place, I've just had 2 games in a row (and probably hundreds in the past) where we get all the gens done and we're all good and the killer gets 1-3 kills cause of NOED.
Here’s the thing...
The goal as survivor isn’t to just repair generators. If it were, the game would simply end after the finished repair of the fifth generator.
The goal of survivor is to SURVIVE and ESCAPE. This INCLUDES mitigating risks. Repairing generators is just one of the things that’s falls under the umbrella of surviving & escaping.
If you DON’T want to run totem detection, which is perfectly fine and valid, then:
- At least cleanse dull totems you DO manage to spot during your travels. Don’t ignore them.
- If you can’t be absolutely sure if all 5 totems have been cleansed, thus can’t rule out NOED, don’t finish the last repair in the killers face.
- Also play absolutely cautious during the time the last gen is finished, until about to leave a gate, until absolutely certain there is no NOED.
- Basically if you don’t yet know if the killer has NOED or not, don’t play recklessly at endgame.
- And if the killer does have it, just leave.

Well actually.... :)
Not a nerf to Nemesis, but now Trickster and Deathslinger also can't shoot through those gaps in the boarded windows, which they could until this release. So they've had one of their iconic abilities nerfed, yay BHVR using a dumptruck when a shovel will do.
That’s an entirely different topic for a different post though.

As someone who avidly speedruns RE2 is it so faithful of an adaptation that I'll know it like the back of my hand? Or are there a few differences that will throw me off?
What of the rooms that have dead ends like the art room, the downstairs interrogation room, save rooms and the clock tower? Do they still have dead ends? Actually I guess the interrogation room would be vaultable because of the licker who breaks the window.
Are the parking garage and cells there too?
No parking garage. Where you’d normally go to reach the parking garage just leads to the Basement. There are still some dead ends, but most have holes in walls somewhere to join things back up.

Only managed to play it once so far, the offering is still disabled though. So i am not sure if we were supposed to actually play on it, but it was very awesome with all of its details. In my opinion though I feel like it is a bit too large of a map. I like how navigating was easy given my many playthroughs of RE2 remake.
I was in the same boat. Because I had played both the original, and the remake to death, I was already pretty well orientated when we spawned in to the map.

There’s no reason to tunnel anyone. As killer you’re faster, you have lunge,many have range attacks, Noed, bbq, Tinkerer, etc. All of those trump anything a survivor could bring or do. Sorry, I know that’s not popular opinion on here, but it is the facts.
Except survivors with endurance do this on purpose. They expect to take a hit but then be let go?!??

I’ve only been able to play about ten matches all through the day, but every single one has gone the face camping route. That’s not exactly normal ranks 5-7. We will have 4 cakes stacked, and have a face camping killer. Everyone’s base score will be about 12-14k that gets out. There’s no reason y’all killer mains aren’t making well over 100k per match if you just play the same way that got you down to rank 5.
Because most of them are unable to play properly on PS4 or XBONE. The performance issues are making chases extremely difficult for them. So yeah, once they miraculously achieve a hook, they’re gonna camp. They want other survivors to come to THEM. Once they can chase properly again, things like this should be reduced.

It would be great to revive the franchise, as currently it's the indies who are producing good horror, and the AAA's need to get a foothold back. Just focus on the atmosphere, give something unpredictable, and hopefully it will follow.
There’s some pretty amazing indie horror out there.

My personal take is that it’s stronger than what is given credit for.
- strong counter to dead hard.
- Pretty much guaranteed to end a chase if being sensible about when to lunge.
It could still do with some extremely minor buffs, but I do now understand why it’s use is very limited because of how strong it can actually be. Plenty of times I’ve caught out someone DH’ing for distance to a pallet or vault, but nope, I still get the hit in in time, even if it means trading a hit for a pallet stun.
