  • Pyramid Head. He has a ranged attack, that ignores collidable objects.

  • I had to escape 2 chases as Nea. I got away in the match once, and then the Killer ignored me the rest of the match (Go figure I ran him for like 3 gens). So I stood at the exit gate till the killer could come over and see me leave - just so I could get the second chase escape.

Got my challenge, and made another player hate life because these challenges are bogus.

blight also registers bumping into walls that are indeed an open doorway

He also doesn't register a lot of walls, and instead just slides off them

  • Bethesda, and EA would have made you pay for all the free content that BHVR has given you, is giving you, and is going to give you.

  • When I first played it took me 2 weeks to get Rank 1 Killer. Then I started to play Survivor, and it took me 2 days to get rank 1 for Survivor.

  • Watch BoxGhost, she displays 10 codes each hour, and she cuts out the end so console players have time to start typing them in - before revealing the rest of the code. She also only get's around 200-300 viewers, so you are basically guarenteed a code in 1-2 hours.

  • Watch BoxGhost for codes, she posts 10 every hour, and gives consoles players time to put them before revealing the whole code. She roughly runs about 200-300 viewers, so you're basically guaranteed to have the crow in an hour or two.

I will touch on the slugging part.

There is no "to a certain degree" aspect when it comes to these rules. Slugging means there is a timer and the game can and will eventually end. The killer can camp the blues out and the others can attempt to pick them up or wait for the hatch to spawn. This is all perfectly fine as an objective is being done along with a timer.

The only hostage situations which are banable are ones prolonging the game without doing an objective at all.

A killer could hold the last survivor in a corner for instance and if they are the last one alive without closing the hatch the egc can't start. This would be banable as the game cannot progress or end.

Survivors evading around the map not trying to do the objective also galls into banable camp but it has a time which is allowed which is for the devs to decide. Basically they should try to do something not just constantly avoid the objective.

So a hostage situation in this game is defined by anything that does not progress the game or makes it so it cannot end.

Also reminder that survivors taking the game hostage for hatch - is the Dev's fault. When they decided it was a good idea to add the hatch to Survivors as a free win mechanic for originally taking the game hostage.

  • I find it funny when console players complain about playing on console. Not just Dead by Daylight. Literally all games.

To be fair we live in a time where technological advancement happens much faster than you getting a slight tech upgrade every year. Stop wasting your money and buy a PC.

  • Easy;

Hag, Nurse, Spirit, Ghostface, Myers, Pig. ONI WITH TINKERER'S

  • Read what you wrote again. You just described exactly how balance works. The Killer you're good with - you do well with. The killer you're not so good with - you do bad with. MMR is active right now, ranks no longer matter. Keep practicing, look up guides, and I think you will do fine.

  • The dev's are consistently listening to the community. Literally most of their changes and fixes are from community feedback/suggestions.

  • Here's a better line for you;

"How dare a buisness try to make money"

    Give your head a shake

  • Not only does she plague the survivors, but your score aswell.

  • Yes. Killers tend to be less toxic then survivors. Killers don't come into the game wanting to be terrible. Most come into the game being friendly while they learn. It's the toxicity from the survivors that makes a bad killer. Then that killer goes and spreads the toxicity to 4 survivors.

If harassment reports were taken more seriously and real punishment was getting dealt to players bullying Killer's, we would see a much less toxic community when we dig out all the bad weeds.

  • I wouldn't so much as say add more blinding effects, but the current ones are straight trash. A buff to those would be nice.

Though OoO does seriously need a rework for SWF situations.

  • Stop blaming the killer for adapting to the hatch mechanic. Blame the hatch mechanic for existing forcing Killers to have to slug for their 4k. Like what are you even complaining about? 4 gens left? Of course the killer is going to slug for his 4k, you don't deserve a free win playing that bad.

  • Give it a cooldown, it doesn't work while on a hook or working on a gen

  • This happens to me all the time, and I think it's because of the Hatch. Originally there wasn't a hatch. Wanna know why it was added? Well. There were a lot of complaints of SURVIVORS taking the game hostage by hiding and not doing gens at the end of the match. So the killer was forced to dc or would get bored and go afk letting the last survivor do the last gen and escape for free, or the killer dc and the last survivor escaped for free.

They responded to this blatant abuse - by creating the Hatch.

Yeah I am not kidding. BHVR thought it was a GOOD IDEA to give playres taking the game hostage by giving them a free win mechanic. That's not even the worst part.

Today now the hatch gets abused where the last 2 survivors take the game hostage because they want to fight over the hatch, players sabotage each other because winning via the hatch as solo is easier than doing objectives, and Killers have to slug making the game boring for survivors to secure wins they deserve when the survivors were complete trash and none deserved to escape.

So yeah. TLDR; BHVR responded to survivors taking the game hostage, by giving them a free win mechanic. Now that free win mechanic causes players to take the game hostage because it's easier to win that way then to do the actual objective.

  • I was able to get it done in 3 matches as Legion w/ Stolen Sketch Book, and Murel Sketch (Deviousness Offering)

Corrupeted Intervention, Monitor and Abuse, Distressing, and Thanatophobia.

Literally just ran around spamming my power till my deviousness maxed out. Boy did the survivors have a hard time ending those 3 games.

so you're saying im not better than a killer who just started right?

You're too thick headed to talk to. I just said that people in brown ranks doesn't mean they are new. People in red ranks doesn't mean they were playing a long time or are good at the game. All I've said was that RANKS DON'T MATTER.

No I said new players. Don't twist my words. Also only purples should be going against reds anyone else shouldn't. That's why you see so many people complain about how they are bullied, with PROOF

That's not what's wrong. There's toxic behavior because the amount of stress on players is immensly different comaparing Survivors and Killers. It's really hard to play Killer, and really easy to play survivor. So 4 people gang up on 1 person who is weak. It's a bully mentality.

    Rank's don't matter. Period.

Most of the people that play dead by daylight don't have 1000 hours let alone 4000, and he also stomps pretty good players as well obviously he doesn't stomp the best, people with thousands of hours, or swfs. The problem with Freddy is he is a low skill floor, low skill ceiling killer, and if you win against him 50% of the time great but the general public doesn't hence the op and him stating his opinion both as a killer and a survivor.

No the general public are trying to make this game competitive and want to be able to 1v1 the killer all the time. That's just not going to happen. It's not what the game was based around, and if you need that kind of competitiveness go play a different game.

Omg dude. Each color rank is better than the next. Except purple and red. Also the only time that happens is when someone mains one role and tries out the other. After I hit red rank survivor killer was way easier it was like I was smurfing. But I mean if you really think that brown ranks playing with red is fine because its easy to pip I dont know what to tell you. Put me in a custom with every single new player in the player base and I assure you not any of them will beat my killer and you get me and @azame and 2 of our friends in a swf against every brown rank killer who is starting we will win everyone unless we decide not to. Yeah most players at red rank suck I agree but the skill level is obvious compared to a brown rank

Not everyone in red has over 4000 hours into the game, when you can get to red in 2 days of playing. Not everyone in brown is new when you go back a rank every month. You're literally talking out of your [BAD WORD] .

  • All this stupid backlash pisses me off, and the majority of people on these forums are the most hypocrital people. They want cosmetics they don't want to pay for. They want characters, and content they expect free. They want free progression, free characters, and free dlc. Then turn around and expect a bug free, cross platform, with cross progression like as if getting that ######### doesn't cost - well I don't know - MONEY?! All the ######### while this game requires so much difficult coding because it's a HORROR GAME.

    I can even go further.

Let's talk about balancing. Like what the actual ######### people. This is supposed to be a FUN CASUAL GAME! The most of these players can't seem to get that through their heads. They want to min max everything, and be as competitive as humanly possible - ruining the game for the people who actually just want to have fun, and ruining the game for players that want to play Killer because all they get is bullied, and have to sweat every round just to be able to do sub-par.

How about the consistent toxicity? Calling each other every single thing but a human, literally people telling others to kill themselves over a casual game. Dead by Daylight ended up getting a renown for having THE MOST toxic community in current day gaming - even worse than World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six: Siege.

Then the sheer amount of people that come on these forums and just straight up talk out of their ass - that know absolutely nothing about the games actual balance, programming, or development of the game.

Like seriously BHVR is one of the few companies that has the most communication with their playerbase, and they get torn apart for it. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they go as quiet as triple AAA titles and start telling their hypocritcal playerbase "We don't care if you don't like it".

To be honest, if anything BHVR is doing at this point is straight up a scam. I'm not surprised, with the amount of bullying they have gotten since I started playing. The players deserve it. Hands down. I wouldn't be surprised if the company did just want to take as much money as they can humanly scrap from this game and then walks away from their un-appreciative audience.

I mean ranks have a disparity and skill which is why red ranks shouldnt be with brown ranks

No they don't. Do you realize how easy it is to pip in this game? Do the math. You get to red ranks simply by playing the game, not because you are good at it. A person who is as good as a red rank player, could just play the game more casually - they end up staying in Brown to Purple.

That's all the ranks tell you. If the person plays the game every day or not.

"Probably gonna blow your mind that Freddy is actually balanced, and you're just bad at the game. "

Uhhh I guess you missed the part where I literally say I came to this conclusion by PLAYING HIM AT RANK 1. Not from playing against him.

Your point? I play him and play against him. I beat him probably around 50/50, and for a person with over 4000 hours consistently at rank 1 that is pretty damn balanced to me. All the while in the games I am against him he normally only takes out 1-2 people (that one could be me). That's how the game is supposed to be balanced.

He is going to normally wreck on mid to lower tier players, because they are mid to lower tier in regards to skill.

  • They know he is the strongest killer in the game. They do plan on looking at him later. Just they don't want to touch him because he was recently changed in a big way. In addition to that - the fact that the only reason he is so strong is because he has exactly the tools the killer needs to do well in this game. They need to use him as a mold to buff ALL the other killers to be on the same playing field as Freddy.

Probably gonna blow your mind that Freddy is actually balanced, and you're just bad at the game. All the killers in the game should be as strong as Freddy, and have the same utility he does. Gap closer, anti-looping, can quickly traverse the map, and force survivors to ignore primary objectives. These are all things Killers need as essentials.

Your cry for another m1 easy to loop killer is just going to be ignored by the devs.

    Recovery addons are almost essential.

It's interesting, I see so many people say "99 stalk", but that has never worked for me? By the time you get all the survivors at 99 stalk. They've finished the gens and are teabagging you at the door.

For me, just abuse the ######### out of your stealth. Use it to walk up on survivors undetected, to hide your red light when in a chase, and the only time you really will be stalking a survivor is when you find one on a generator and can hear it's not completed that much, so just lean from cover and 2.5 seconds get a free insta down.

  • For starters Ranks don't matter. Period.

Welp that's the end of the discussion.

Nah, but seriously as far as the matchmaking is going right now. I found that when I start facing SWF's back to back I just purposly lose 4-5 matches and then start having an easier time with matchmaking.

    LMAO. "programming hard"

How about spending some of the money earned by pushing skins to addicted children to improve the testing pipeline then. There is a PTB, how about actually using it? A lot of smaller indie games manage to put out one patch without breaking sound for several months. How about not using Fisher Price (TM) software building blocks programming and actually optimize and understand what the code is doing instead of inserting yet abother blueprint into your jenga tower of spaghetti code?

At some point, after millions of dollars earned by making cosmetics for a bare bone functionality game kept afloat by buying licenses to huge old-school horror franschises, they are no longer elegible to be called a small company. If this keeps up, with excuses and failed patches, eventually the license holders will no longer want to associate with the game.

Maybe strive to be better and accept that there is something horribly wrong with how the game has been managed, unless the end goal is not to milk all paypigs dry before shutting down the servers. You are not helping.

The team for fixing bugs, and the team for designing cosmetics are two different groups of people. Yet another person making an uneducated comment on the forums.

  • @HellDescent said:

Meanwhile they completely ignore the questions like "Why do you release updates with a ton of bugs in them?"

As a video game programmer. I don't work for BHVR, but i'll tell you why. BHVR is not a massive company, they don't have a whole 2-3 squads of testers to find every single bug that the THOUSANDS of players can find a day. Next to that, a game like Dead by Daylight has SO MUCH CODING! Like have you even gone into the coding of this game? It's nuts! Do you even realize how hard sound interactions are for coding? Well that's like at least 30-55 % of this games code, just to give YOU - the player. A horror atmosphere.

So yeah. There are a lot of bugs because this isn't exactly the easiest kind of game to create. It's not just some generic map, that has a few generic character models, with only 80 sound files to shoot guns at each other. I know I give the Dev's a hard time around balancing, but when it comes to bugs. Honestly people need to stop and think for a moment that video game development is not your profession, so just assume the developers are doing all they can to fix the bugs in their game. They are professionals, you are not.

  • Trinkets don't really matter all that much, so I am honestly just taking it as if I get it, then lucky me. I probably won't use it anyways, and if I don't get it - No sweat I doubt I would recognize it if I ever see someone else with it anyways.

We're "rebuilding it from the ground up" meaning its implementation. As a perk requiring sharp timing, its network implementation needs to be revisited. The intention was not to say we're changing it function entirely. Any changes to its function will be for design reasons, not due to implementation details.

Yeah when is this going to be fixed? Grabs havn't worked since the dedicated server update. Dead Hard for the most part has been fine.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

They're not sets. Only the Ghostface one is.

That's still really dissapointing 💁‍♂️ and a pretty big waste

  • Honestly I could make a list, but I am going to say the one thing this game needs if the Dev's like it or not. It needs to be heard, it needs to be understood, and it needs to be brought into the game.

    1. Voice Chat, or Proxmity Voice Chat. With the option to mute players. If stoping to open the menu during gameplay to mute someone is an issue. Hotkey mute/unmute to Alt/Shift+1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. One for each survivor, the killer, and all.

When this is implemented in the game. Then the balancing team can balance the game around the fact that all players have the ability to speak on comms, and this will greatly close the gap between SWF, and Solo. Perks abused by SWF stats will change. At the same time Perks used by SWF will be more often used by solo players, and 2 man SWF's. Then they will be able to get balanced correctly.

Stop shutting down every person that suggests adding Voice Chat to the game with; Language Barrier, Misconduct, and your personal opinion. Those are just negative excuses that don't solve the problem, stop letting personal assumptions make you blind to actually balancing the game correctly. There are plenty of games that do amazingly well, even in the horror genre with Voice Chat. You're making your own team look bad when responding with bad information. I just took a break and played Phasmophobia instead. Popular with Russian, French, French, and Spanish speakers (more languages included but those were the most I encountered). Now sure I do know 3 languages, but still most people spoke English or enough English to perform well, and as far as toxicity went - it barely even existed. With the option to mute aswell in the likelyhood someone was toxic.

    Add Voice Chat.

    @MigrantTheGreat said:

While your right, the problem with this logic is that the game has evolved to be more focused on the 1v1 and not the 4v1! Spirit is a killer that makes survivor's have to use their brain to 1v1 her which is why she is hated because survivor's can't mindlessly 1v1 her or accept the fact that if they play well she will eventually adapt and get the survivor she's chasing!

Looks like some players have not been following Developer Information. This game is NEVER going to be a competitive game, the developers ARE ONLY TRYING TO BALANCE THE GAME AROUND CASUAL PLAY. The issue the game has is because there are too many players coming in and minmaxing because they want to treat it like a competitive game. That's why the biggest issues right now are survivor second chance perks, and people that play in SWF with comms. Also I think you have the idea of versus wrong. The game isn't 1v1, nor is it really 1v4. It's just there is a Killer and there is 4 survivors. The Killer can kill everyone, and the 4 survivors can each possibly survive. Intentionally they want most Killers to at least kill two survivors, and have 2 survivors escape. That is considered a Win for the Killer, and a win for the survivors. Too many players are making up the idea that because you died as survivor means you lost, and the current scoreboard system makes Killers feel like getting 2 kills is still a loss. The dev's however already mentioned they want the game to feel like both parties win in a 2 death, 2 escape situation.

Actually participate in hearing the dev's before spewing falsehoods on where the game is going, or how it's intended to be played.

Yes, we know that bud, killers are supposed to be stronger, but not game breaking. How do I counter a stridor spirit?

Easily with practice. I also find it funny that you say "Stridor Spirit". All the good Spirit players don't use Stridor. It's useless, and wastes a perk slot. It's a perk for people to use as a crutch till they get used to the sounds in the games and can pick them up when they are quiet. I would recommend looking up some counter spirit videos on youtube, or search on the forms "Spirit Counter" and you will find a lot of threads about how to counter the spirit. In my opinion the best way to learn how to counter spirit is to simply play against her, read when you get hit, find your weakness and then cover it with a perk. For example if a Spirit with "Stridor" is your issue then obviously you have issues with masking your characters sounds when playing; Try Iron Will, or Calm Spirit. As far as playing against Spirit, listening to sound is your strength too. Her phasing noise if muffled means she phased while indoors, knowing where buildings are on the map gives you an idea on where she is if you were not already aware of the direction she was in already. Staying healed so you can take the first hit in a chase is extremely helpful, learning when to stop running, and pull a 180 when she tries to phase to chase you between loops is good to practice too.

Like any other Killer countering her simply comes with practice, and this game has a big learning curve, not as big of a learning curve it is for Killers for survivor has some hurdles to cover when trying to learn how to counter specific Killers.

  • All the people here going "It's a bug, but I'm for it" . These are the people that need to learn that you're not supposed to be on equal playing field to the Killer. THE KILLER IS SUPPOSED TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER THAN YOU. The game is supposed to be built around the fact that no matter how good you are at survivor - A killer of equal skill. WILL. GET. YOU.

  • It's absolutely tremendous. Less survivors just leaving the game ruining it for everyone, and we can actually finish games against killers when they lose 2 or more gens.

To be entirely honest it makes 0 sense why anyone would be against with the DC penalty. The only person I can imagine that would be against a DC penalty, would be someone that wants to leave every other game simply because it slightly inconvienced them.

I'd say I would be in support of a neutered version of Undying as basekit with no cleansable Totem. Hex Totems getting a second chance if cleansed is fine as basekit; Hex Totems lasting until all the totems are gone as basekit seems like a bit much IMO.

Players cleanse dull totems for points (and to avoid NOED), there is only 5 totems to a match. So even with 1 hex perk, you will only get 1-3 totem uses out of it. I'm not sure my position on if a Killer can see the aura of dull totems when they have the ability to hex a totem with their hex perk, but if the Killer had to actively look for a dull totem blindly, then I don't imagine them getting anymore than 1-2 uses out of a Hex Perk.

I am asking if it would still be a cleansable Hex Totem in your idea to make it basekit.

I would imagine not, however with the power it revealing survivors when they are near totems would have to be taken away. That would make it too powerful. The purpose that the Hex: Totem switches to another totem, and you lose any stacks on the perk would be base kit however.

There is still the even better option of; Giving Killers control over what totems get hexed when, and when an activated totem is cleansed, the killer can go to a different dull totem that hasn't been cleansed and activate the hext totem again (obviously losing any stacks as well). This way the hex perks are not rendered completely useless until all the totems are cleansed from the map, while at the same time not being entirely useless because it's incredibly easy to find and cleanse totems.

  • Players have been saying this for months - even years now. The Dev's are extremely against the idea of adding a voice chat feature to the game, even proxi chat. Because it would;

    • Fun and Effective way to even boost the games realism of the game when players can try to keep quiet and whisper. While at the same time the Killer listen in, or scare survivors.
    • Close the gap between solo que, and allow the developers to have an easier time balancing the game when they no longer have to worry about the survivors not being in a SWF because they would be balancing the game around the idea that players are using all of the tools available to them.

Oh I'm sorry, that's just what adding voice chat to the game would do, and fix all of the games problems. These are the easily fixed reasons the Devs give for not adding a voice chat feature.

    • Children screaming in your ear. (Adult rated game? Option to mute them?)
    • People playing music (option to mute them?)
    • People harassing or bullying (Option to mute them?)
    • People not wanting to use voice chat (Option to not use voice chat?)
    • Language Barriers, especially with Europe (Did you forget that you have dedicated servers now? Not to mention the universal language is English by default. Including the fact that there are hundreds of other games with open voice chat feature that have 0 problems with "language barriers" which most of them are popular in Europe like Dead by Daylight is).

So yeah. A voice chat feature, or proxi chat feature would be entirely fantastic and extremely healthy and helpful to the game, but... No?
