  • Also reduce the amount of pallets, make them more of a resource you have to consider not running out of. Players will learn to preserve pallets.

You’ve practically just admitted that you’d treat heterosexual lore differently from LGBTQ+ lore.

So Frank and Julie’s relationship is okay because it’s not the “WHOLE” story but if that were the case for an LGBTQ+ character, it would be “pandering”...

I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt before but now you without a doubt just sound like you’re arguing against LGBTQ+ inclusion. You can’t be in favour of representation but think that such an addition is “pandering”. Pick a side.

What you're demanding isn't equality, or diversity. It's pandering. The dev's are doing a fine job creating characters because you don't know what all the characters sexual orientation is. It could be Claudette, it could be Dwight. It could be Spirit, or Trapper. What makes you thing Frank and Julie are heterosexual? Maybe they are Bi.

I am as gay as they come, and the only thing against diversity I see here is the Karen demanding the community I am in to be pandered too.

Heads up for anyone else here; Don't take @ImmersedNurse behavior as how people in the LGBTQ+ act, the people that act out, and demand to be catered too is actually a small minority that find being LGBTQ+ to be cool. Most of us are just quiet and live life like everyone else - we don't make a show of it. BHVR has done a fine job so far with keeping up with equality, and we don't expect to know every characters sexual orientation - because that doesn't really matter in the horror game, nor is anyones buisness.

Playing killer is incredibly chill compared to solo survivor lmao.

The hatch is rarely a free win, be realistic.

Not even statistic's back you up, and anyone who actually plays the game knows how easy survivor is compared to Killer.

Realistic. It's not hard to track where the Killer is as Survivor. You have all match to find the doors, and you have from 5 gens and less to find the hatch. Survivor can sacrifice the time to find all 3 if they havn't already found them seeing how 76% of normal Survivor pathing in maps goes over the Hatch.

Find the furthest door from the Hatch, and 9/10 you get out for free - it's as easy as that. The dev's designed it that. Intentionally. They want the game where the Killer can't get more than 2 kills. They want the last survivor to get away every time.

  • @Blueberry said:

The loops/chases need to be long enough for the survivors to have fun. However loops/chases that long lose the game for killers.

I'd say rather than shortening loops/chases to keep up with the games speed the more fun solution is to keep the long loops/chases but slow the game down enough so that we can have those fun interactions without it costing the killer the entire game.

To be fair. This problem would be easily solved if they changed all Long/Long loops into Long/Short loops, and Short/Short loops. So then some actual strategy, gameplay, and mind games can happen at every loop - instead how it is currently where survivors will mindlessly circle a LLP loop and never get touched.

  • You got me. I literally opened this thread eyes rolling thinking "not this again", but was pleasently surprised

Seeing how much counterplay the Twins have against them, makes me wonder how the devs test the character out before PTB. Surely they have a trial period, right? Or do they just finish creation, then immediately send out to the PTB.

We're talking a team of Dev's that not really the best at playing their own game (based off the few that play on Twitch). Also at the same time they play their own game for fun, they are not trying to find every minmax'd solution for new characters - Really the only real testing actually happens in the PTB and main game.

If you think this game is unfun for killer, then you're gonna have a ton of fun as solo survivor!

I play Solo survivor all the time - most of my friends stopped playing the game (for good reason) . It's not nearly as bad as playing Killer. Even if I get a bad team, I have the hatch for a free win. Back to back wins all the time. Like didn't you know that if you wait out the hatch you just have to go to the door, or the hatch whichever is furtherest from the Killer? Free escape unless he slugs for the 4k.

Ebony Mori cheapens the game just as much. There should be changes on both sides

Mori's they just have to change to only work after the second hook phase - instead of the first.

The whole hatch mechanic was added to the game because Survivors were taking the game hostage. The Dev's delibertly added a mechanic to the game that rewarded the players taking the game hostage. Then after a few changes to the Hatch - that's all it does now. Why they added Key's is beyond me, but they shouldn't be available in Chests.

  • Thank-you for being kind. The game is really hard on Killers at the moment, and if we had more survivors like you - Killers wouldn't be leaving the game like they have been.

  • Meh. When I'm survivor I don't care if someone else suicides - I know I have the Hatch to rely on (which lets be real is a much easier objective than the doors).

When I'm Killer, unless Freddy Nurse or Spirit - it pretty much balances the game to be honest.

because i read the lore and there's nothing in it yet, neither in the archives, neither in the ptb, neither in the descriptions of the characters

Wanna know what's worse than not having diversity? Forced diversity.

Give your head a shake, the characters sexual orientations doesn't matter - the characters matter. Who are you, or I to assume their sexual orientation. Who are you to demand they even have one to begin with?

  • I literally tell everyone new, and people considering the game - not to buy or play this game. Until I see changes made to actuaally make it fun, and not some broken addictive cash grab.

I am not acting like a child. I just want the game to be fun for killers and stop being a waste of time for killers. Honestly with this thread, and community included - BHVR might as well make Killers bots, because you all don't care that there is a person there. Even in this thread has persistent bullying, proving my point further.

  • It's like Demogorgon is so bad, that not only the Dev's forgot about it, so did the players too. Lol

You can be snarky, sure, but the hardcore base of dbd is in the minority.

Balancing for those high tier players is going to be difficult and intensive enough as is, unless they have buku dedicated resources and wildly change their stance on accepting and utilizing community feedback I don't think BHVR is up to that challenge as they are right now.

Kick and scream all you want, you can't squeeze blood from a stone unless you pay that stone a ######### ton of money.

"The Hardcore Base of dbd is in the minority" - When you are literally going back to back against these players on the few Killers you primarily play - then they are deffiently not the "minority". Like why don't you go waste someone elses time and lie in some other thread?

The game is currently facing terrible survivor que times because the Killers are all still leaving the game - it's no fun for them. There's no point for them to keep playing just for the other players amusement. Go soak your head, before coming to be toxic in my thread.

    Lol you're funny.

Oh wait were you serious? That's even funnier.

  • I still like my idea best for Chucky. He uses voodo to throw bodies up on hooks, and he can activate unactivated dolls to watch like sensers around the map. Then as a secondary ability transfer his soul to one of these dolls from across the map - leaving the previous doll to fall and act as a sensor where he once stood.

That's a short explaination. My thread from before went into a lot more mechanical and mathmatical detail on how it worked with ranges and stuff.

Every day. I just got out of a game against a 4man SWF with key and OoO. It was a terrible time.

The problem is, when you win a lot of games with one Killer - you only face teams likes this with that Killer. It's how the MMR works. For some reason, some dev, thought it was a good idea to have how many players are in a SWF to be considered in matchmaking?

So what you're saying is. I should just not play the game because I was good at it? Typical. Clearly no problem there.

Lol settle down there, chief. I think both keys and moris need a rework. But taking a loss to one of them to heart serves no one and only hurts yourself. If that's what you're into, go right ahead.

You're still not helping the discussion any.

    @EntitySpawn said:

at least you get to play, i can wait 15mins for a lobby sometimes way longer depending on the time im playing and get people kill themselves or quit with under 1k points...

You're right. It would probably be better for the Killers not to play at all, because the real problem is that Survivors have to wait long lobby times - since all the Killers are leaving the game because the game is no fun.

  • Freddy is the most balanced Killer. He has the ability to apply pressure, he is strong in chases, he counters looping, and great scare potential. Without a ridiculously high difficulty to play to avoid the player from having to sweat each round against randoms (Unfortunately no matter what you will have a hard time against SWAT teams, but BHVR isn't going to do anything about that, and you're just going to end up getting your MMR rating so high with this killer to the point that's all your going to face till the rank reset, so enjoy it while you can).

  • Even the Dev's, and Professionals say on their streams that Killers are REQUIRED to take at least 1 Regression perk, 1 perk for aiding in finding survivors, and 1 perk for catching survivors easier. While the 3rd/4th perk also synergizes well with the Killer you are playing.

While Survivors are just like "What will I do today, be incredibly tryhard and immune of being taken down with second chance perks, or have fun and bully the killer till I die / Let everyone else go / or get away simply because I am immune and bullied the Killer all round.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

What you should learn from this is not to take the game seriously. If I'm mori'd or survivors escape with a key I roll my eyes and move on.

Great dismissive comment. I'll keep that in mind while this persistent issue is never fixed, because people like you are fine with the fun of the game being non-existent.

    @malloymk said:

Lol. Thousands of hours playing this game as killer. Maybe had multiple people escape by key in 20-25 matches out of thousands.

Not a big deal at all.

Wanna throw statistics at me like that, because many people have games back to back to back of straight Key's, and/or finding key's in the chest. Litterally you can take 1 perk and guarentee you're getting at least 1 key out of 2 chests.

Honeslty maybe we should just keep this thread up as "How many dismissive comments can we come up with, so that the Dev's never actually make playing Killer fun and rewarding"

  • @Komi said:

Thats exactly why the key is such a high priority item. If they found it mid-game and hid it until they escaped, thats just the luck of the draw. Aside from emblem tweaking, actually having all four survivors coordinate a hatch escape is rare so don't feel too beat up, only Franklins Demise can prevent a key escape.

"Don't feel too beat up" - exactly these dismissive ideas is why this game is so unfun for Killer. Every match if it's not the hatch, too many pallets, SWF, too many second chances, or the overall fact that while playing Killer you are not getting the feeling you are being rewarded for playing good. It's just expected that Killers "be fine with it". That they all should just go "That sucked" and just move on. While the survivors can bully, harass, and abuse the game as much as they want.

Play Killer and you're expecting to have a bad time, you have to just accept it, and move on. Play Survivor and the game should be catered to you to the point for the most part you're having fun.

Play Killer to do a job you're not being paid for. Play Survivor to have some semblance of fun, even with friends.1

  • Keys are uncompariable to Mori's. The hatch was added to the game to stop the game from being taken hostage. Mori's was added to the game so that the Killers could have a cool unique animation that didn't only involve hooking a survivor.

Remove the Hatch from the game, and make Mori's only usable if the survivor had already reached their second hook phase.

    Problems solved.

  • @Almo said:

None of them. The Killers are delayable, but not stoppable.

    yep

  • I would be pretty happy if it's the Wendigo. I been asking for that kind of killer for a long time. The Lore and mythos behind Wendigo's is purely amazing, one of my favorite creatures in the horror genre.

  • Don't worry about being in the dream world. Without slowdown add ons, it really doesn't affect you other than his terror radius get's bigger. Between doing gen's, get your clock. When you unhook someone, let them wake you up. You get unhooked - wake everyone up.

Do not, and I repeat. Do not! Do not fail skill checks to get out of the dream world. That only helps Freddy. Freddy uses those notifications to track the positions of the survivors. If he is running other monitoring perks as well, you're basically giving him the ability to track all survivors all of the time for very little gain yourself.

If you're running from him, and see him placing a snare. Run to another loop. It takes him 2 seconds to setup, abuse that opening. When he teleporting to your gen, keep calm. Remember the direction he is in, if you see him in the distance then sneak away. If you don't then hide (in a good spot to hide, not right next to the gen). Running creates scratch marks, and then he will just track you.

Btw you could even ignore the add on's, they only add like 2-3 seconds longer on the gens.

Nothing about DbD is fair, and that's not a bad thing or else it would be just another competitive miserfest.

So what, someone gets a free escape. Who really cares? This game is so inherently unbalanced that that means nothing, there's so many things, big and small, that go into these situations.

There still needs to be an extent of balance, and the hatch ruins the fun of the game. For both Killers and Survivors. The game shouldn't be fun for only a few people at the expense of others.

    Honestly who raised you?

  • Actually Ranks were supposed to be removed when the new matchmaking system came out, but because of the backlash by the community to keep them as a way to gauge "player skill" - which they never EVER were. The dev's decided to keep them.

  • I see the threads, and I highly doubt many of them would be taken seriously. It's very common knowledge in the entire community that Killers are incredibly weak in the current meta, and I highly doubt the far survivor sided forums is going to desuade the dev's from balancing Killers to be stronger.

I seriously bought like 4 boxes of popcorn packs for the day they nerf Decisive Strike. It's on the list. They've mentioned it multiple times. It's all over the forums. Dev's see Decisive Strike being abused, they want to nerf it. It's coming. I hope all these sorry saps are ready for that smack of reality.

They have to give survivors time. And yeah that would be AMAZING, sadly they did it half assed in some.cases and breakable walls shouldnt be strong by having them for the killer. They should make loops weaker once broken. Or a mix of your suggestion and mine

Yeah! Exactly and that's what I mean by dynamic. Not just the copy and paste of "Oh this was strong loop, me put wall here, now not strong loop" - making the Killers go "Oh no longer strong loop. Me not break wall, because me no want strong loop again"

  • @MadLordJack said:

Something about the killer also knowing where it is, lets all ignore the fact that that never helped in the instances where everyone knew where the hatch was.

It doesn't really matter though, if someone's petty enough to think that keying out is actually worth something or shows skill, whatever. Let them have their fun. It's kind of like... I dunno, Devour Hope with a Dead Dawg offering. Not exactly impressive, but whatever.

It's not fair. If you have played any lengthy period as Killer you would know that the go to Survivor strat as the last survivor is to learn where the hatch is, and if you know that the Killer knows where the hatch is. You hide out at the furthest door from the hatch - most Killers all don't have the movement speed for most maps to traverse across the whole map from the hatch the furthest door before you can open it.

Killers are required to track 3 exits constantly simply because the hatch exists already. Now nobody even has to bother finding it. They literally just guaranteed the last survivor an escape every time no matter what.

That's not even going into great detail about how dumb it is that they can bring key's as well - knowing exactly where the hatch will spawn and when.

  • The only thing, and only thing. I don't like about the doors is that most times it's just better not to break them. All because the map design for the breakable walls was lazy and they literally went "Strong loop? BREAKABLE WALL". So as the killer, it just makes more sense not to waste your time breaking them, and making the game harder on yourself.

Lower down on them, and have more breakable walls that just changes the dynamic of the game -pacha just right meme- . That would be perfect.

Like just imagine. You facing a killer, you loop him a few times. Then BAM! Breaks the door in the middle of your loop, and now you gotta run a whole other loop you might not even know that goes through the door he broke.

Also like. Why does it take so long to break walls? I want to be terrifying. I want my hearbeat to get louder as I get close to a hiding survivor and then just straight up go all The Shining on them, and break through the wall getting a hit in and just making the poor shmuck literally [BAD WORD] their pants. BHVR why didn't you let me do that?

  • That moment when you try all the codes, and realize they are not working because they are all for the Crow Dwight trinket, and you already have that 🤣

  • @AnotherJacob said:

The rush with better graphics is for a better presentation on next gen consoles.

That's actually an important point. Yes you can play DBD on current gen consoles, but that comes with ######### specs. However on the next gen consoles I imagine a game as strong as DBD will run much smoother. Like people are complaining that a game that calls for a very powerful computer doesn't run well on a 7 year old made to be cheaper gaming system.

  • To be entirely fair. That vault location never should have existed in the first place. Far too broken, and far too dificult to mindgame.

  • WHY BEHAVIOUR ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY.. because the playerbase doesn't appreciate it when they actually try doing something for the playerbase.

Same with Scott Jund, in both of these scenarios they aren't tunneling.

Sure, otz does eat decisive strikes, but he doesn't deserve to most of the time, because most times he gets hit by DS, he isn't tunneling.
