Maybe, yeah. It's just silly that Trapper has to find and pick up his power.
The Huntress does not have to wander the map for hatchets that spawn in the far corners. Hag does not need more mud to place her traps. Trickster does not need to pick up knives he threw.
So the Trapper needing to meander the map, wasting upwards of 2-3 minutes, in 5-8 minute games, is really silly.
Agreed. Traps should 100% spawn closer to the middle of the Map, or they spawn within 96 (maybe smaller) Meters of The Trapper at the start
-
Bodyblocking isn't unfair
-
Play Alien: Isolation. Really good horror game, but has a pretty slow start. Once you get to the San Cristobal Medical Facility, the game truly starts
-
Let's be honest, the most popular fan chapters will be the ones with either the most op stuff, a Killer that's better than Nurse, Survivor Perks that rival Dead Hard, or the weakest stuff, like a Killer that's weaker than Trapper or Survivor Perks worse than No Mither

Well that's just all basic attack killers, shes not the worst though.
And 1 I think, maybe that was on the recent mmr tests though. Either way 0 or 1 and he didnt manage to do all that well bless him
Poor Demogorgon

Whenever I realize that I'm not going to hit a Survivor, I snap my camera either to the left or the right and smack a random object

Doubtful, while I dont think shes bad (I did verse a few and I love playing her) at the end of the day shes a basic attack killer and if she dont get downs fast gens will be popping just the same. Basic attack killers always struggle the most, the only time I seen her get a killer (in my 200games) was because someone was obsessed with tapes 😂
Poor Sadako.
How many Demogorgon did you see?
-
I'll define tunneling real quick.
Tunneling is when you're focusing on a single Survivor player because you want to ruin their game.
The tunneling most Survivors complain about, is efficieny
-
I've had a similar experience, though I haven't played Survivor in a while so maybe my escape rate would be different now that Sadako has been released
-
Meh.
How often will the Killer vault a Window anyway?

No tf it isn't?
Any killer with a marginal amount of mobility makes it hell to deal with in solo queue where you can't coordinate Tinkerer procs. The perk is absolutely problematic.
So the Perk should get nerfed because Survivors don't want to learn how to split up?
-
Just revert all of his nerfs. The nerf ruined his 1v1, which is the only thing he had
-
Pitting Dead Hard against any Perk is unfair. If you had something more balanced, like Overcome and Sprint Burst, the votes wouldn't have been 16 to 1

My Trapper Fixes (All numbers are for example purposes, so don't assume 'OP' or 'UP' based on the numbers):
- Trapper can 'lob' traps while moving. They only go 3 meters, and then take 3-5 seconds to arm. In this way, they cannot be used to throw ahead of a running Survivor. But it allows the Trapper to place them on the move instead of spending 3/4 of the game time placing traps.
- The Trapper starts with all traps in his inventory. Unless using the add-on that starts with the traps opened. This way he is not spending another 3/4 of the map picking up his Killer power.
- Fix the damn map generation so traps will spawn in logical areas. For using above add-on.
- The traps are invisible outside 15 meters. This means SWF SWAT teams can't give the hive mind information on Trapper's traps. It also means a sprinting Survivor may step in it before he sees it, but a careful Survivor will see it before they step in it. It ALSO fixes how glaringly obvious his traps are on indoor maps.
Boom. Trapper fixed.
All the changes are good but 2 is a bit much

DC'ing is always bad, unless you're facing a cheater

In the Q&A dev stream from last October:
@Tayte - "Do you ever take inspiration from fan created chapters?"
Truth be told, no. BHVR's chapters are worked on very, very far in advance due to just how many things need to be considered.
But they love seeing them and reading the comments, if that's any consolation.
this is from GoodBoyKaru‘s summary thread, which you can find here:
I personally enjoy making concepts, so I'll continue making them but that still sucks. Maybe they'll reconsider in the future?

Their grunts are annoying enough, please no

Killer has been under that sort of punishment for 5 years already, it's up for a change.
How about we don't punish anyone?
-
@IronKnight55 said:
I'm hoping she gets a nerf. She shouldn't be able to injure/down you if you aren't swarmed. She'll be fine after these changes.
Why shouldn't she injure? That change would pretty much kill her, having to hit 4 shots with a big cooldown and that are moderately easy to dodge would simply take too long.
It'd probably take longer than downing a Survivor as Nemesis with just the Tentacle Strike and Dead Hard
-
Split up on gens.
There's your Tinkerer counter, no Perk needed

We need more perks like Dead Hard. Exhaustion perks that we are able to use during a chase as a means to extend the chase rather than gain distance.
It’s the reason why DH is so popular because of its benefits in short loops.
Don't forget DH is so popular because it's op

I disagree with this idea that you could "place a boon improperly". What does that even mean? It's just like how Hillbilly and Spirit players allegedly used their powers "wrong" by simply using them often, and for that sole reason they deserved to be nerfed.
CoH could 100% be placed improperly, basically placing it whenever whereverand just forgetting about it. Now, blessing them healing will take longer than a Self-Care, so Survivors will have to place the CoH in a place where they can be sure that it won't get snuffed immediately, meaning wasted a huge amount of their time
-
There's no real reason imo.
Stealth wouldn't get hit, as the only reason stealth is successful if because seeing Survivors with the current FOV sucks and is way too hard, especially when Survivors use skins that make them harder to see

The hardest part for me is actually thinking of the concept and how it would work in the game. So many concepts of powers feel boring, stuff like "oh they get tiers that make your speed of actions faster!" Those aren't bad ideas but they just feel so lazy compared to what could be done, the sky is the limit.
The easiest part and most fun is writing the backstory or doing perks and addons. They usually come easily with the power concept, which is why it isn't that hard for me.
I can't get the hang of Perks, like, at all. I find it hard to create new Perks that aren't similar to already existing ones
-
@HaunterofShadows said:
The hardest part for me is making a unique power. The easiest part is the perks. I make original concepts but don't do add-ons. Only power and perks.
Original Powers definetly suck to make, I've tried making some of them but they never were as good as licensed ones.
You should try making Add-ons. They take a while but they're worth it in my opinion. They can be really creative. Sure, there have to be a few Add-ons that are pure percentage increases, but the rest, especially the higher tier ones, are fun to make
-
I don't think Artist needs any changes. The most she need is a few Add-on buffs and reworks

I wouldnt say f tier especially with Legion. I would say now that if he gets 4 chain stabs and his 5th one being instadown is huge. I would say Legion was pretty good. As for ghostie yes I think he needs some work.
How often are you even going to get a 5th chain hit? And the chain hit doesn't even work if 1 Survivor dies
-
Dead Hard, Spine Chill, Boon: Dark Theory and Overcome
-
Seems like a good idea but I'd imagine a lot of Hook farming would take plave if such a change came into the game

I am on console and never thought it was a problem as a killer? I wish there was more build variety for survivors and this perk is not part of the problem.
Same, never really had a problem with Boil Over on controller. I imagine it was a problem on indoor maps however so maybe that's why it was nerfed?
-
Yes, the CoH nerf was necessary, even with the Hemmorrhage buff. The CoH nerf didn't hit the healing speed that much. What it did was punish Survivors who placed the Boon improperly and rewarding Killers who went out of their way to snuff the Boon Totem.
Blessing then healing with CoH takes longer than healing yourself with Self-Care, so placing your CoH in a good hidden spot is needed for it to be a plus instead of a minus when it comes to efficiency

So currently going over this series again because I'm really trying to get a handle on this killer and...wow. It can be genuinely painful to watch at times.
For those not familiar with Otzdarva, he's a DbD focused content creator known for doing win streaks on killers with either 4 perks and no addons or (rarely) 3 perks and one addon.
Some takeaways:
- He tried STBFL, Hex focused builds, Hex focused builds with Pentimento and finally settled on Ruin+PR+MYC+FOR.
- Her newspaper addon is so essential to her kit that for a portion of the streak, it was considered more valuable than a perk slot and he used it with 3 perks.
- He considers it to be the most difficult streak he's ever attempted, including pre-rework Trapper and Myers.
- He was able to achieve a 13 streak before calling it, but it took days of attempts. He managed 20 on Cenobite and 30 on Artist substantially faster.
- He described her as often feeling like she doesn't have a power.
- His immediate suggestions for fixing her would be condemn gain for all survivors when someone is hooked, and baking Old Newspaper in baseline.
On the positive side:
- Her pickup animation is odd enough that sometimes survivors miss flashlight/pallet saves and DS.
- She has a cool mori, I guess?
I understand what the devs were...trying to do with this killer (something that's not an anti-loop) but she came out half-baked and needs to go back in the oven for a while.
Where's Chef Ramsay when you need him?
I'm not surprised he didn't get that high a streak when he want even using meta Perks. I don't know why he suspected he'd be able to get a 50 4k winstreak with FoR and MYC

Because boons are designed around providing back-and-forth slowdown that continually drags survivors off generators so that they can keep their buffs up. There are a few reasons why this doesn't quite work out in practice, but that's the design; boons would not fill their intended role at all, even slightly, if they could be broken.
Just thought about this but wouldn't a base-kit Pentimento and base-kit Inner Healing provide more back-and-forth than Boons?
Like, Survivor cleanses a Totem to gain a heal for later, Killer gets a Rekindled Totem, then a different Survivor cleanses that Rekindled Totem but doesn't gain a Inner Healing Stack so they search for another Totem and the process repeats until Totems run out?

Most of my grievances are as a solo queue survivor. These add-on changes again widen the gap between solo queue and SWF. Especially the Legion self-mend ones. SWF = ‘Hey mate, where are you to finish my 99% mend?’ Solo queue? Better be running a survivor aura reading perk.
Oblivious is an extremely powerful status effect to last for 60 seconds, especially on yellow add-ons. Not OP, but really only yellow add-ons for that? Think about every perk application of oblivious, and there’s no comparison. Especially on these two quiet killers. Again, hurts solos more than SWF (callouts).
Susie’s Mix Tape makes it so killer instinct covers like half the map, on top of the buffed base kit and other FF add-ons. Wouldn’t Distressing further increase the distance too - isn’t it based on TR?
Olsen’s Wallet and Ghost Face Caught on Tape are flat out busted. Instantly recharged Night Shroud, allowing for constant and easy 99 or full stalks throughout the match -regardless of being recently revealed. (Are they fixing the busted reveal function on the survivor side, or only making it harder with the marked survivor change? Was super excited to see Driver’s License is unchanged - /s)
Meh, what do I really care though. Probably won’t be playing the base game anymore with the cheater and bot pandemic. Couldn’t even finish this last Rift. I’ll maybe just stick to mobile until it too is unplayable.
I doubt Legion and Ghostface will be better than they already are just because they can deal with SoloQ easier than they already could. Legion and Ghostface already manhandled SoloQ because most SoloQ teams are uncoordinated and didn't know how to split up or even look behind them while working on a Generator, which is more of a skill issue than anything

top c meh maybe he is with the other killer like clown ghostface etc. yes i didnt mean worst as in literally worst but i meant one of the worst... they completely ruined him by adding the overheat
I'd put him in B tier. Mobility is king in this game, and Hillbilly has plenty of it. Having a meh chase makes sense, and even then, Hillbilly can chew through Pallets, quickly creating Dead-Zones, which is pretty powerful
-
SBMM is fine. It's just match making system that pits up players of equal "skill" with each other and doesn't promote "competitive" gameplay. It has one big problem though.
SBMM biggest problem is being called "Skill-Based Match Making". A better name would be KBMM, or "Kill-Based Match Making".
Most things in DbD don't take much skill. Sure, most of them require game knowledge, but they're not 'skillful', like objectives. Sacrificing and escaping isn't skillful, they are among the things that require the least amount of skill
-
Removed Add-ons get replaced by the new ones. Essentially, if you have 20 of x Add-on and that one gets deleted, it gets replaced by y and then you have 20 of y
-
@jaawn said:
The TOS and EULA say it is a violation to "Interfere with the ability of others to enjoy playing a BHVR Service...".
These statements conflict with the language on the rules page which asks players not to report "camping", because of the specific type of camping where a survivor is hooked at the start of a match and then is stubbornly camped until death on their first hook, thus prematurely halting their ability to play the game, removing opportunity for getting points/rewards/etc. The documents may work "in conjunction" with each other in general, but in this instance they conflict. Thus the EULA takes precedence and this behavior should be treated as a violation. It doesn't mean all actions which could be called "camping" are somehow a violation, but the kind where someone basically doesn't get to play the game definitely is.
Being on the Hook is playing the game, which is why it's not a violation

Just wondering, did devs forget survivors exist in their game this update? My gosh, some of those add-ons are so busted it’s unbelievable they passed the eyes of upper level devs at BHVR. Then there’s the self-mend trigger for like half of Legion’s add-ons.. they don’t think survivors will just 99% mend then run to a friend?
Which OP Add-ons are you talking about?
-
Because they'd be op otherwise, duh.
-
Overheat is bad. His Add-ons are worse
-
That is a good difficulty rating

Give me the new Power difficulty for Demogorgon.
The new Ghostface chase music is a pain. It sucks so much.
Susie's mixtape kinda sucks ngl. The Fuming Mix Tape slaps though

@Phasmamain said:
Because 3/4 boons aren’t strong enough to warrant that?
If the CoH nerf goes live, then no Boon will be strong enough to warrant breaking (CoH will remain a good Perk even after the nerf)
-
@Brimp said:
I forgot the whole formula for self caring with COH but im pretty sure the 75% increased healing was 20 seconds so 50% should be around 22 seconds. Either way its still a needed nerf, now we just need a global cooldown after placing it.
I think the formula was:
(1+0.5)*(1-0.5)=0.75
16/0.75=21.333...
-
Against even a mediocre Nurse? Sure
Against a Blight? No. SoloQ Survivors can still escape against a Blight
-
No. Don't play the game, but watch it on YouTube/Twitch/whatever. That's the true Entity game mode
-
Legion will still suck

Yes. Give me the numbers
