Ooh Deathslinger. I'll @ you. Twins and Pig already posted in this thread, lmk what you think

Pig needs a nerf lma0
You must not play at a very high level then. Kill rate means absolutely nothing either, because Nurse is the lowest. Pig has one of the weakest chase powers in the game, no mobility, and her traps have workarounds, not to mention they're totally RNG reliant.
Also, the post said rework, not buff. She's good against bad loopers but horrible agajnst decent survivors

Well here it is
Trapper:needs slight buff and desperate and more fun way of using traps overall one of my favorite killers
Pig:one of my mains well with her I preform well but it's struglle most of time she has zero mobility but some of her add ons are cool just slight buff
Spirit:slight nerf/change nothing much just something that won't make her such a pain to loop and go against overall like the killer and play with her but I do agree that she needs slight change
Agreed on all, more or less, though I meant that I had my own reworks posted in here

@Elcopollo said:
You know that spamming literally the same message across numerous threads on the same forum won't make devs apply your wished changes, right? I mean, it's great when people have ideas and are passionate about something, I applaud you for that. But when they spam those ideas non-stop on threads in every single category you go to, it's a little bit wa~a~ay too much, don't you think? x)
What are you whining about? Yeah I have 2 similar posts but they're for different purposes. One was to get feedback on my reworks, this one is to create a rework order. Not to mention, they're in different forums. Now shoo

You must be joking. That's not even 3 health states worth of blades

Somehow, your suggestions have nothing to do with a rework, just with nerfing the spirit. There is a difference, you know.
Spirit is the 2nd strongest killer in the game, and making her appear briefly gives benefits for both sides while still allowing for mindgames. It changes the skill curve, not the ceiling. So instead of being condescending about it, how about you think about it for more than 5 minutes? The only outright nerf is the passive phasing, which takes absolutely no skill, and the iri movement speed add-on, which is ridiculously strong
-
@hedies23 said:
Spirit is so strong, but more importantly so fun. I don't want to see Spirit nerfed but reworked I would accept. I voted for Nemesis because he needs a major rework - his basic attack, his main power, his appearance, all would benefit from some touching up. That's not even getting into perks, that's less important to me.
I don't think Spirit needs a nerf, she needs a rework to make her fun for both sides

How would it make it worst? There's nothing stopping more casual players to play ranked to also play against more casual people.
Besides, more competitive players have literally no other option other than current matchmaking. Would be nice to have a setting where EVERY ONE is actually skilled and playing to win.
Well we don't exactly have the masses of sweaty players at rank 20 rn

That's due to the ranking system being dogwater, but this would only make it worse

It's so funny how survivors say same thing, but for killers...
I think they somehow need to fix what killer see, because right now we can't rely on it, which is not good. I am not sure it is possible tho.
There's still desync and they refuse to acknowledge it, just like console is still broken

again: the only way to beat a Nurse in a chase is to have the Nurse screw up.
is she always going to get 4 kills every game? no - if you genrush the sh*t out of her you will still get escapes, but in a chase there is literally nothing reliable the Survivor can do to stop her.
You can try to make her miss a blink by pretending to go in one direction but actually going somewhere else, but that "counterplay" banks entirely on your opponent not predicting it (alias making a mistake). and if they do, you die.
and yes, even Oracle and Agony make mistakes. if their Nurse ever lost a chase, thats entirely on them.
Their Nurses are the best in the world, watch the games. Survivors can absolutely trick a Nurse. Yeah she's the strongest killer but even she is often overmatched by their SWFs

Overwatch, LoL and CoD are far, far more balanced games that actually function at the highest level and has minimal to none RNG involved in the deciding of a match.
None of which can be said about DbD. Game balance is a joke, tournament level play is a bad joke and the game's often decided the moment the map loads up.
There's no incentive or reward to get better. Thus, a ranked mode will stay a nice pipe dream until BHVR actually seriously-- and I mean seriously fixes their game.
BHVR will never give a damn until another game threatens their profits, and they have a stranglehold on the licenses
-
I'm sorry it's been rough for you. This game is rough, especially with the QoL downturn with the latest chapters

Can we at least get a hard cap on how imbalanced the matchmaking is? It's getting really really disappointing to keep being matched with tryhards that are 7+ ranks above you match after match after match. It's sucking all the fun out of even trying to get daily rituals (let alone any of the tome challenges) done when you have no chance to do jack squat in the match.
BHVR sucks at designing anything like this

Did you ever see when The Game map bugged and had no ambient light, only that generated by actual light fixtures and generators? It was HORRIFYING. I loved it.
I wish I would've seen that. RarithLynx has a gameplay concept of the Xenomorph on Twitter, and the atmosphere there is FANTASTIC

@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
The problem is finding a solution that doesn't crack the game in half for a significant part of the playerbase.
Check my other reply on here, lmk what you think. Hopefully tweaking the maps and the start of trials will achieve this balance
-
@VikingWilson said:
Goddamn it, could we do something about this? Get in one chase and a gen is done, turn around and another gen is done, down someone and yet another gen is done.
This is absolutely asinine. The winning strategy for killers is slug and tunnel and that's if they can catch someone holding W.
Too. Much. Fun.
My solution to this problem, let me know what you think.
PART 1: MAPS
Pretty simple, just shrink the bigger ones. It creates more loop-oriented gameplay and mitigates the hold-W issue.
PART 2: Early Game Collapse
The biggest issue with genrushing is the first minute or so of the game. Guess the spawns wrong or go to the wrong gen, you're screwed. An Early Game Collapse is needed.
- Start the trial with repair speed at 50%, and add 10% every 6s until returning to 100%.
- Speed this process up by 100% (add 10% every 3s) when a chase is initiated. Other conditions could be added here to account for killers like the Shape.
- This repair penalty should also apply to anything that adds bonus Progression to generators, such as Great Skill Checks and Brand New Parts.
- Spawn survivors in pairs. This greatly reduces the impact of RNG on the start of a trial, and strikes the best balance between spreading survivors out on too many generators and spawning them all on the same generator.
- Reveal the Obsession’s spawn location (not their Aura) to the killer for 5s at the start of the trial.
- Remove the HUD for all players during Early Game Collapse. This is optional but would create an eerier and more immersive experience.
- Buff Lethal Pursuer and Corrupt Intervention due to diminishing returns alongside this mechanic.
-
Like I always say, BHVR doesn't care about killers as long as survivors are happy. Near impossible to get hits anywhere near a Pallet now

That never stopped Overwatch, LoL, CoD or any other game with a ranked mode from adding ranked mode.
I think ranked in DbD would be a great idea if they did it similar to some games.
For example, in LoL you could play with a full party in casual but on ranked you could only play a duo with someone if they were near your ranking.
If DbD ranked allowed the max SWF of 2 players and casual could have 4 man SWF i think itd be fine.
Yeah, but anytime BHVR introduces a system that's beneficial if not exploited, people exploit it. They tried a system that punished camping and tunneling, survivors just abused it. With all the toxic sweaty players in DBD, they're gonna go bully in casual

I can respect that, but I prefer the new stuff.
I could live with it if the corn gets thinned out. Honestly, I wish a lot of maps looked eerier though. This game lacks a creepy atmosphere, which would make it more immersive and fun. I could get over the ######### game balance if it had better atmosphere

Make it so keys require minimum charge to unlock a lock too, so interrupting them has some benefit. Currently, they are powerful detection tools AND hatch escape mechanisms. And perks like Franklin's don't do anything.
Keys can't open the hatch without some charge left, actually, so Franklin's does a bit

I often agree, but this, I think, is just aesthetics. While difficult to play in, near impossible for those of us with bad eyes, I have to admit the farm maps look AMAZING now.
I preferred the old look actually, evening better suits a horror game. And corn rows could be thinned out like the corn is dying. Again, suits the game theme
-
It's so dumb. Those maps have some of the strongest pallets and buildings, but apparently that wasn't enough. BHVR doesn't give a f*** about killers
-
Then all the sweats would go bully in casual mode

POV: I played my first ever Twins game this week and there was a TTV streamer in my match. I chased him first and hooked him, then planted Charlotte near the hook (not facecamping distance) to use Victor. Found someone healthy and pounced with Victor successfully. At the same time, the TTV got rescued so I went back to the hook. At this point, the rescuer hid somewhere because I looked around a bit first and didn’t see them immediately so I followed the blood and scratch marks instead… found TTV again and hooked him. When I watched the VOD after the game, at that moment found him he calls me a “POS tunneler”, “trash killer”, etc. I also saw his rescuer’s aura crouching nearby hiding.
Later on in the match after hooking someone else I find the TTV with Victor and pounce him. He proceeds to resorting to holding Victor hostage for the rest of his time in the game. After I decide to chase him I down him then pick up to hook. Before I can hook he disconnects to “deny the sacrifice”. In the result screen he sees I’m console and then says “why are all console killers trash tunnelers” or something.
I hope this can be a lesson to survivors to: A) if you rescue someone without BT, at least try to distract the killer and take hits… and B) if you feel you’re getting tunneled, maybe it’s because your TEAM is hiding. Don’t expect a killer to let you go if you’re the only one he sees.
Player entitlement and lack of understanding for the other side is a big issue in DBD
-
@Moonman157 said:
I don’t think he’s OP, I do find a lot of Wraith matches pretty competitive yet mostly fun. My only issue is his pick rate. I don’t know if it’s confirmation bias but I find myself going against him a lot. Plus he has a pretty consistent and unique play style. So those once competitive yet fun matches start to feel tiring.
BHVR should rework all their crappy killers then
-
Sooooo many. I actually have a thing here. A bit out of date, so ignore the glaringly wrong ones, but here are some from a rework document I'm working on:
The tiers are for perk health by the way
DS and Lucky Break can be removed from that, BT is probably B or C tier now, and NOED should be C or D

Also, I've got a Google Doc here with reworks for every killer (and more) if you want to check them out. Feel free to leave suggestions!

you just brought up the prime example for why we shouldnt trust those stats - Nurse is easily the strongest Killer in this game, even if she has the lowerst kill rate.
Even then, she still has counterplay
she quite literally has not. against a good Nurse, there is nothing you can do as a Survivor other than to die or hope she screws up. and yes, breaking LoS does count towards the later - good Nurses will either predict your movement with insane accuracy, or just blink to the corner they lost you at and then use their second blink to get on top of you.
i have seen people play Nurse without any Offerings, Add Ons or Perks and still obliterate fully stacked Survivor teams with her.
Heck you dont even have to be good at DbD to win with her, you just gotta be good at Nurse - she is essentially playing her own game, not even DbD anymore!
is she ever gonna get reworked?
idk. IF the Devs want to perfectly balance this game, then yes. But i highly doubt that would ever happen, plus with them being so set on pushing MMR now as well, you cant just take away the only viable Killer option for high rank MMR (which says a lot about the state and competetive viability of this game imo)
but if were purely look at the health of this game, then yes, Nurse (aswell as the other two mentioned Killers - Trickster and Twins) need to get reworked - Nurse even more than the other two, as she is the only one whose very concept of the power is deeply flawed.
I encourage you to watch Oracle vs Agony for some pristine Spirit and Nurse counterplay. They're obviously the top 2 killers but they aren't unstoppable

The Entity creates the realms, so she creates both of those things. Idk, maybe get rid of the Stations and allow Feral Frenzy to injure but not down. Like I said, limited mends is extremely problematic for solo queuers

Exactly. Killers right now spend way too much time in chase. Not saying killers should get free downs, but there are way too many safe loops/pallets on nearly every map.
Keep us posted, sounds interesting.

And my reasoning is that by making ALL killers more efficient in chase it will speed up the game chase-wise and slowdown perks could be nerfed accordingly. No one likes spending tons of time on gens, or for killers not being able to catch survivors because of tons of safe loops.
Well, some of the comments here lead me to believe that survivors feel as if a killer should never be able to catch a survivor if the survivor is looping “well”. And by “well”, that usually means abusing safe loops, god pallets, and interconnected tiles,
That's fair. I have a rework document in the works where I buff chase and nerf slowdown. More fun that way

Regarding Dead Hard you are correct it would bring room for more plays but it would honestly be pretty unfun and at times a bit too strong to just let Trapper deny a loop and to be able to effortlessly cut in the middle of it where a trap is to get a hit on a survivor. It excludes anyone who doesn't run Dead Hard enforcing it into the meta slot it is in now. Basically it gives people another reason to run it all the time which I feel is unhealthy for the game as it enforces a meta.
Why have many niche perks when we can have a single perk good at many niche task? That's the issue with perks right now and why a lot of perks are just meta constantly. They're just too good and there's no sense in giving these perks more reason to be chosen over other perks.
Hmm, that's true, I'll change it. Fyi, I badly want to improve perk diversity. Take a look here if you're interested: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nUxBRomb77siSwDWkoD6fDjIbfiWKOU6uKLjS58MV34/edit?usp=drivesdk

@CashelP14 said:
It wouldn't work. It would destroy any short loops and most medium loops.
Bad killers will still complain that swf is op, gen speeds too fast, survivor perks op and that they need 4 slowdown perks every game.
If you don't think that most killer characters are too weak against high-level teams, you don't play enough

As I said, the 'soundbites' you are talking about are ALREADY in the game. If you never noticed it, then listen closely. You want "realism" in a game where a guy can run a hundred miles with a chainsaw in his hand as if he had an everlasting engine up his ass and where an ordinary ice-cream man can get hooked on a rusty metal twice and be hit with a sharp deadly weapon gazillion times and still somehow not die.
And you 100% ignored the part where I said that it's a direct homage to the Saw movies, where a very similar animalistic snarling is heard during scenes, where a person in Pig's mask abducts a victim. Doing justice to characters in relation to the property they've been taken from is thousand times more important than realism, as it's the franchise's fanbase they are catering to with the licensed DLCs in the first place.
Hey, fair enough. Lion roar or not, that is so not a big deal compared to everything else I've worked on lmao. And I do know those soundbites are in the game, where do you think I got them from? I was just saying make them louder and remove the roar

I didn't start with add-ons, so my list won't be good. I'm doing the perks first and then the add-ons.
Add-ons:
· Rotten Pumpkin: okay
· Black Heart: Slightly reduces Cool-down of missed Shred attacks (-0.5 seconds)
· Rat Liver: okay
· Rat Tail: Increases the number of available Portals by 1. Slightly increases Portal Opening speed.
· Sticky Lining: Slightly increases Portal Sealing time for Survivors. Slightly increases Killer Instinct Detection range when charging Of the Abyss.
· Viscous Webbing: successful shred attacks afflict survivors with mangled.
· Rotten Green Tripe: okay
· Mew's Guts: When knocking down a survivor with shred attacks, all generators within 20 meters of you start regressing.
· Barb's Glasses: okay
· Eleven's Soda: Reveals the Auras of Generators being repaired in yellow while traversing the Upside Down and for 3 seconds after emerging from a Portal.
· Thorny Vines: Slightly reduces Shred Recovery time after successful Shred attacks.
· Brass Case Lighter: Reveals the auras of Survivors who seal your portals for 6 seconds. Once out of contact with the Portal, the Oblivious effect persists for 30 seconds.
· Violet Waxcap: slightly increases the maximum shred distance (+2 meters)
· Deer Lung: remove the downside
· Lifeguard Whistle: okay
· Vermilion Webcap: okay
· Upside Down Resin: When a survivor cleanses a portal, suffers from the Incapacitated Status effect for 12 seconds
· Unknown Egg: Survivors injured with Shred attacks suffer from the Broken Status Effect for 90 seconds.
· Leprose Lichen: okay
· Red Moss: okay
Thanks, I'll keep these in mind :)

They would need to severely nerf survivors then, because this game is not balanced around 12-hooking. And there's BT, DS, Unbreakable, flashlights, firecrackers (bugged btw, looking up doesn't even stop them) to protect survivors
-
It would help a ton with map pressure. I think a better solution is to shrink maps
-
If the game is close and multiple survivors are injured, no. But oftentimes, yes. Endgame perks also tip the scales
