:) I understand that there would be no benefit for killers as they would now have to work for that 4k, but I feel it currently is even more unfair for the survivor. After all, even if the survivor pulled of DS and MoM, a skilled killer will eventually down them again, but at least that requires more play instead of automatically sacrificing the last guy.
Well, what happens if they already worked for the 4k? Are you saying they have to work for it again?

I'm seeing that players are not factoring in Mettle of Man, which combined with Decisive Strike negates camping. Sorry to killer mains, but it is now possible to counter play camping and should be allowed for all survivors.
Obviously this is gonna be a Killer-biased response, but I don't see the benefit from a Killer's POV.

The add-on should have a trigger range further than the disarm range. This means that with this add-on, the land mines cannot be disarmed, making them permanent insta-kill (mori) traps.
This is a good idea. We need more killer buffs
That would be absurd. Insta-down maybe (and even then, there needs to be a downside if they can't be disarmed), but insta-kill is too much.

@BBQnDemogorgon said:
It does but over time.
Wouldn't make sense for infected gens to insta damage when getting puked on doesn't.
It slowly making you sick makes a lot more sense. It's not a deadly trap its an infection...
OP is referring to the red vomit and is saying that the red vomit should make gens injure Survivors in the same way green vomit makes Survivors sick.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@TAG they do now they just have to be asked. The games mentioned in the op are crossplay on every platform even between consoles
Not really, no. The games listed in OP are the exception, not the norm. There are still games being released with crossplay that exclude PS4, and devs are still saying that Sony is not being open to it.

They didn't say they were hoping to have info soon. They said they will reveal info next week. Stop twisting their words.

I like the basic idea of how Freddy's power currently works. Some tweaks on his power could have helped him immensely already. Now it seems that he will get a complete rework of his power. I'm really excited for next month. I hope he will still be our Freddy.

What is the difference between "it's totally coming guys" and silence?
They confirmed they're doing a full rework vs tweak (not new info), they confirmed legion changes (we'll see) and they've confirmed that dedicated servers are incoming, along with "end game collapse" whatever that means.
The only actual info they gave was the less than 5 players thing which is admittedly cool. Everything else is just more pr spin on stuff we knew already.
They said that they plan on actively giving concrete info on stuff like the Legion changes and the End Game Collapse next week. That is a significant difference.
-
You need to be able to demonstrate (usually through video) that a Survivor was actively point you or other teammates out to the Killer. I guess a flat-out confession from either suspected offender would suffice as well?

@TAG I just realised, I'm going to give it a new name. Originally, that idea was for injured, but it would be far too OP so I made it for sickness. I'll rename it to 'inefficient'.
Ah, okay. In that case, I don't think the status condition needs a name persay, unless you were thinking of having things other than just sickness cause it. The debuff could just be written out in Vile Purge's description. Also, if Inefficient is no longer going to be caused by simply being injured, I think then it would be fine for it to affect people running No Mither.
-
I was actually thinking about making the traps spawn already primed just recently. Not sure about making them spawn by windows/pallets consistently for the reasons Peanits stated, but beyond that, I THINK it might be a beneficial change to the Trapper?
-
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I only ask because it wasn't explicitly stated in the post. What would trigger the "Uneasiness" status effect? I assume it's being Injured/Broken/Sick (I would hope that this does not apply to No Mither if so)?

plague can keep everyone from healing because she’s quick and has insane amounts of reach. Legion deals damage in bursts, and thus relies on survivors already being injured to make hitting the survivor at 110% movement speed more fair, as its a one hit down.
What I am saying is that the Legion suggestion you are providing would make them like Plague (in the sense that their power can injure a Survivor but not down them unless they choose to do something about it) but with 110% speed. Some people already argue that Plague's power can just be ignored, so then what would that make the Legion suggestion?

wow, that is the worst response to reasoning I’ve ever heard. Nice opinion. Sorry you’re confused.
No, I'm genuinely confused. It seems to me like you just listed a bunch of downsides the Legion has compared to the Plague. What were you trying to tell me with that?
-
@DarkWo1f997 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/413528#Comment_413528
The fact that legion can’t actually just emit constant long range damage with no cool down or stun of any kind. His camera sits a lot lower than plague, plague can see scratch marks and hear survivors while using her power, she doesn’t have to get close to do damage. She doesn’t move slower.
I'm confused. These all sound like arguments against your idea being a good one.

@DarkWo1f997 said:
@TAG “perma-broken” implies you can’t heal. But since you know what is and isn’t an issue. Why not add onto this idea to make it better? Because “no it won’t work....” type responses don’t work here because A.) it hasn’t made it PTB and you haven’t tried it and are so quick to shut it down, and B.) It doesn’t help improve the original post.
Barely anyone is helping improve or contribute to the idea. Why bother replying at all then?
Its just annoying that I’m spending my time trying to help the game get better and people are so quick to shut it down without actually giving an alternative. Everyone thinks I’m nefing legion, NO, I’m not. I only play legion and I play killer mostly now because I don’t like the button mashing associated with survivor.
It makes absolutely no sense that I’d nerf an already weak killer that I play, but he a lot of people have a problem with playing against him and I don’t think a rework will make him fun to play. So I’m trying to find fixes to make him feel tolerable and fair without him losing the ability that makes him fun.
I don't play Legion and would not be able to come up with a good way to improve them. That does not mean that I am incapable of offering my opinion on the idea as is currently presented. All I am saying is that if people are saying that being unable to heal does not matter against Plague, what about the idea you've suggested would result in anything more effective?
-
This line of text:
"Adrenaline will wake you up if you are asleep when it triggers."
-
If people are willing to argue that being perma-broken against a 115% Killer is a non-issue, I can't imagine being perma-broken against a 110% killer being not substantially worse.
-
I would not be against Clementine, but she strikes me as more of a "paragraph update" character rather than "full-on Chapter update with a complementary Killer" character, and I would not want to see another Survivor paragraph before a Killer paragraph.

@NuclearBurrito said:
@TAG basically you can't pip with camping because camping is an ineffective strategy
Ah, okay. I thought you meant that the system itself was hard set up so that camping would not be rewarded enough to pip. My mistake.
-
I'm confused with how a Killer can't pip through camping. If a Killer hooks a player, that's worth one point for the first hook stage, and if they camp the player until they die, that's worth two points for the life (I'm assuming they don't get the token for a Survivor being on the hook long enough to transition from the first stage to the second stage). If said Killer hypothetically does that to all four Survivors, that is worth 3 (points per camped Survivor) x 4 (Survivors) = 12 points, which is a pip, is it not? Unless there is something I'm misunderstanding, in which case I apologize in advance.

@Sairek Wait, what the hell happened there? Why did MoM activate endurance for Kate?? Why did it sponge a chainsaw hit?? did I miss something?
Mettle of Man will sponge any one hit that puts its user into the Dying State from the Injured State, I believe. If the Kate were at full health and then hit with the chainsaw, Mettle of Man would not activate. At least, I think that's how it is?

No, I don't think it's okay. In fact, I think it's a very bad sign when someone who has been very vocal about being against DCing has to resort to that to be able to access half the game.

So when someone is unwilling to be held to a higher standard when they SOUGHT OUT the position, they should be allowed to just say ######### it and game the system? No. If it's an issue for him that he feels the NEED to DC or de rank on PURPOSE, he should step down as fog whisperer, as he is not representing the best of this game. Hes representing the kids on the forums who say "DC for X since it wont ban me its allowable".
Either deal with the consequences and situations that being in that position has, or remove yourself from the position.
Well, how does one represent the game when they can't play it?
-
@Carpemortum said:

That the developers should fix the rank? Or they shouldnt be a fog whisperer? Like. Its not hard to go off and do whatever you want. But when you represent the game or community, that ######### cant happen.
More likely the first one, in my book. Second one seems like a consequence of the first one, in my book.

I agree with your moral points about how he does it, but the fact remains, he is a fog whisperer, and shouldnt be doing it at all.
People look up the game and see the behavior selected streamers de ranking on purpose, it sends a bad message.
Well, what message is sent when a Fog Whisperer has to choose between not playing the game or DCing?

what do you mean? im hitting rank one in 4-5 days after rank reset. yes it sucks because i cant play the game as killer anymore before survivors reach red ranks aswell. but thats how it is. if you cant stand that you should play another game instead of showing thousends of ppl that disconnecting is ok because thats the only way to play the game. BS
That should be a sign that things are fundamentally flawed somewhere. I think telling people "don't play the game if you don't want to not play the game" should also be a sign of that. It means that things are messed up no matter what.

I'm not fully understanding your stance. Like, your comment history shows that you are frustrated with the idea of red rank people struggling to find games, but you seem to be without exception against the notion of DCing just to avoid being unable to play the game as if you show zero mercy to that situation. I'm not saying I condone DCing, but how long can one really tolerate not being able to play the game?

What was the original win condition as the devs created the game?
What was their intended way of playing the game?
I understand that games, especially online games alter, evolve and change over time, but I am still curious. It's always interesting to see how a game has evolved.
I'm more interested in knowing what they feel is the current win condition, if I may be honest. Not sure how I feel when a win in the context of this game is referred to as a "nebulous thing".

Let’s be honest I think a lot of things were changed because of Legion.
Plague literally providing free fast health kits
And now that I think of it, MoM sure sounds like an anti Legion perk.
Too bad every other killer who did nothing wrong has to pay for Legion’s mistakes.
"And now that I think of it, MoM sure sounds like an anti Legion perk."
Forgive me if I am ignorant, but it does? Does Legion's Feral Frenzy attacks not add stacks to Mettle of Man?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
What about waiting a few weeks to see how MoM is doing? Or is it satisfying to cry about things that are in the game where nobody really knows how they work out in the end?
The only thing I see which is bad on MoM is that weak(er) Killers are more affected.
Trapper-->Is a M1-Killer. He has traps, but well...
Wraith-->Should be not affected when uncloaking and doing a Surprise Attack. Is affected when chasing normally
Hillbilly-->Most likely affected because he cannot use his Chainsaw effective on Loops
Nurse-->Not affected
Hag-->Only affected when you chase with Hag, but well... You should not do that.
Huntress-->Not affected, unless you decide to go M1 with her.
Myers-->Affected, but with EW3, more Hooks for the Tokens you create or simply not activating it, when the Person is healthy and downed.
Doctor-->100% affected.
Leatherface-->See Billy
Freddy-->Affected...sigh
Pig-->Affected. Dont know if Ambush Attacks count, probably not, but well..
Clown-->I dont know if Bottle into attack would count. Dont have Clown.
Spirit-->Out of Phasewalk should not affect it.
Legion-->Does not affect unless you go M1
Plague-->Does not affect unless you go M1
I think the Killers who are hurt the most by MoM are Trapper, Freddy and Doctor, and those are probably the 3 weakest Killers. That is the only issue with this perk.
But right now I would simply say that in a few weeks, at maximum 1 Person will run MoM in a Trial.
"Pig-->Affected. Dont know if Ambush Attacks count, probably not, but well.."
It does not count. I was hit by a Pig's ambush once, and it did not give a stack to Mettle of Man.

Yes, but that was a free update. Probably because Valve is okay with that sort of thing. Could be wrong, but it's possible that Bill the charactet being PC exclusive could factor into him and his perks being free.
-
Far as I can tell, Doctor was just a dude who became more and more obsessed with torturing people until he went crazy and started going to town on the entire facility.
As for Pig, if my research is accurate (since I have zero interest in watching any Saw movies), she was an apprentice of Jigsaw who eventually decided that she knew better than Jigsaw and started using the games as just executions than as ways to teach victims a lesson, which prompted Jigsaw to test her once more and resulted in her death (obviously retconned to have her be taken in by the Entity).
-
Hm...
-Can be used to stun the Killer for X seconds (definitely no longer than 3 seconds and would still absolutely be affected by Enduring).
-Consumed after use.
-If the Killer is carrying a Survivor when shot, that Survivor is dropped and is put into the Dying State. That Survivor's wiggle progress is reset.
-Shooting a Killer by a Pallet will instantly break the Pallet (even if it is not dropped).
-Shooting a Killer by a Generator will instantly regress its progress by 15%.
-Shooting a Killer by a Window will block that Window for Survivors.
Basically trying to make sure that it's a usable stun item without it being too good at griefing. Definitely would not exist below "Very Rare" rarity. Same goes for the add-ons. Whatever add-ons might possible exist for the gun would probably not add more rounds to the gun.
Too much? Too little?

Why are you intentionally being obtuse?
This ain't math class, honey.
Players are abusing the ability to see the Survivors items. They are cherry picking their matches for McDonawlz Happy Meal with the apple slices.
Ya digg?
You said they were doing this to lobby dodge. Ergo, the solution is to take away the ability to lobby dodge.
-
@NeaJovovich said:
No.
The Killer shouldn't be able to see the items cuz they quickly leave the lobby they've created.
It's annoying.
Killers are abusing a game mechanic and it needs to be removed.
Ya feel me on this one?
So you're suggesting they remove the ability to leave lobbies once they are filled, since that is what is getting abused, ya?
-
Was thinking more along the lines of Peach's Side B in Smash Bros.
-
@tomikomPL said:
i agree with opinion that seeing killer in lobby and seeing his profile isnt a good idea after what you wrote, but i cant understand why many of you think that not seeing survivor in lobby and not seeing his profile is a bad idea? Why? Because you cant prepare yourself as killer?
What makes it a bad idea?
-
I have not played Temple of Purgation enough, so I'm discounting that one from my consideration for now. Between the others, Rotten Fields.

@Saint_Ukraine said:
Does it really matter to you that much? I feel like killer's have less that they have to buy from the blood web. Survivors have to buy items, add-ons, offerings, and perks. Killers have to buy add-ons, offerings, and perks. On top of that, killers (usually) earn more bloodpoints than survivors do. So, I think it's fair.
To be fair, Survivors can find items with add-ons already installed mid-match.
-
As a few others said, I'd rather Killers gain a way to keep their add-ons than Survivors be forced to lose their add-ons. I like the idea of one add-on (the lower-rarity one, or randomly chosen if they are both equal rarity) for a pip and both for a double pip.

Right, but Leatherface came out about a month and a half before the Freddy chapter and almost two months after the Huntress chapter. Ash is coming out exactly two weeks after the Plague chapter.

I have to wonder if they hastily bumped up the release date because of the leaks because it seems very odd to have a new character introduced so soon after a major chapter release.
