If you all have sabo, you dont need mither, it doesnt help. At all.
it helps. The killer will either bring you basement or slug you. So why shouldnt it help then?
-
the thing is that the killer will always pick you up with no mither. No mither alone makes no sense, you need to use other perks that have synergy. For example DS.
Btw the most fun build imo is swf with full no mither sabo. Try it and let your mind be changed. wooooshhhhhhhh
-
Tbh in high ranks you have to abuse ds as survivor because most killers just keep avoiding it even when they tunnel. Anyways that doesnt mean its ok and ds should work this way.

Evidence just keeps piling up and I don’t see how people can keep denying it. First there was the devs own data that showed 75-80% kill rates. Unfortunately the devs also toss in the “dont draw conclusions” so all the killer mains say it means the data is worthless. Completely wrong but yeah... ok. I stayed away from the forums after that. Then today I read the thread about wraith and notice Tru3tal3nt and Otzdarva tracking their win rates. Whaddya know? They were like 90%. This with wraith and trapper. Along with that are the other people in the thread noting their 3k averages, etc. (Though anecdotal it supports the data).
So.... what is everybody seeing that shows killers being at a disadvantage aside from the occasional beating by high level 4 man swf teams?
I’ll tell you what they’re seeing: nothing. Everyone who complains on here about survivors being entitled and owning the game gives anecdotal, subjective information about their games. All the data and facts continue to show that most games will end with a 3-4k. Thus killers are almost always “winning” whether judging by pipping or in-game experience of kills, and survivors are almost always dying. In this case, since we know survivor pipping is fairly easy, survivors are often winning by pipping but losing by dying.
IMO what these high kill rate data show, and which matches my own experience in game at green thru red ranks, is that survivor game experience is suffering, even though we pip. The exception being those red rank swf squads.
This is also what is pushing me away from the game. It seems killers must have 3k to “win” but survivors can die all day long and “win”. Playability as solo survivor sucks. All day long at all levels you get bad teammates, dcs (which will become suicides on hook), killers with Ultrarare addons, proxy camping, tunnelling, and a multitude of little mechanics that make survivor life suck, like being downed during a pallet stun, getting hit 6 ft thru a window, slow and medium vaults that make no sense...
How about redefining killer wins away from 3ks? Tweak the “win” conditions and balance so that survivors can escape more, more like 50% kill rates, and killers can still “win” via pipping. Right now it seems like pipping is balanced but game experience is very killer sided.
The data is not worthless but its not worth taking conclusions out of it. Tru3 and otz are R1 killers and @Peanits stated in another post that R1 have higher killrates. Also I dont think that every red rank killer isnequally skilled like a streamer who does literally nothing but playing DbD. Basing an argument on that is not really logical to me.
Right, 4 man meta lazer focus swf is also not that common. Would be the same mistake to build an argument on that.
Its right that the game has balance issues with solo, swf, killer on different ranks. That being said, it wont help to seperate killers from survivors and say one side is OP.
I also dont share the opinion about losing and winning a game. It is very subjective. Some only want to have a fun time and dont even care.
I agree that the killers pipping conditions are not perfect. You have to at least 3k and not only that to pip at higher ranks. Compared to survivors its pretty difficult. Id also like to see some changes here to lower the "win cons" and also to a more acurate matchmaking.
Survivor and killer can be sometimes really frustrating. I see the main problem why they didnt already change something regarding the conditions, in balancing around the whole players base / the whole ranking system. I wouldnt even know where to start implementing changes so that it keeps fair for everyone.

I feel like thana is still good on him. Atm I try out some nemesis and pwyf combinations. Really works well on him because you are also even faster in frenzy and with 1 stack pwyf many loops get unsave. Also the addon for applying the broken status effect is awesome. I always go for multiple survs in frenzy. And well thats it. Not sure what my final 2 perks will be.
-
Its an anti tunnel perk that can be abused easily
-
Why not playing swf if you only get bad survivors and killer feels too easy for you?

No I understand why they did everything I'm not salty just annoyed everything is one sided.
Nah they didnt buff anything of Pigs. They announced they would be reworking her addons, but my hopes for that are beyond low as the last time someones addons got reworked Nurse was changed. While she is viable to a good degree she's no longer fun to play as.
They always seem to care about survivors fun without considering the fun for the 1 person who makes the entire trial actually a thing.
I have to be fair, sometimes I also think its onesided and I get annoyed with certain thing in the game. But then I remember the old DbD and how I tried to catch survivors with pallet vacuum and infinites back then on PC. Recall that lets me hope for changes that impact the game for a more enjoyable time.
I also get frustrated playing killer and get bullied for playing the solo "power role" of the game. And seeing as survivor how I get matched with low rank killers concerns me about the killer playerbase. Its funny how I think after some sweaty killer matches: lets play some relaxing survivor matches. But unfortunately thats the situation atm. Killers are not weak, but they feel that way and besides the higher BP gain it feels unrewarding at least imo. I think balancing is not about give and take. Its about how everyone can enjoy the game together and thats a really difficult task especially in DbD.

Using consistency as a reason doesn't pan out when killers like Wraith and Nurse's M1 from their abilities still count as M1 hits, so why was Legion the one that got the nerf? Even still, the reason "it caused too much confusion" is weak since it was pretty obvious why Expose didn't work on Legion's Frenzy. And the buffs he did get do not outway the horrible nerfs too his M1 and the massive buff too Deep Wound. Legion is considered worse then Bubba by the majority of the community, and the fact people have been begging for Legion buffs only for him too be nerfed is silly.
Nurse's addons did need a rework, no one is arguing that fact, but the horrible nerfs too the basekit are my problem. The fact they ignored the community completely, then nerfed her most used addons on the PTB too live and have never touched her since, even when people wanted her reverted.
Onis' flick was never a bug. It was on the PTB, then they nerfed it when it went live, and are now saying it's a "bug." Why would you nerf a mechanic you were never going too keep? if you could alter the numbers from PTB too live, then they clearly wanted it as a mechanic. You don't nerf/buff a bug unless you want is as an actual mechanic in-game.
After all the changes the devs keep making too killers when few people have asked for them is a clear sign too me they don't listen too the community. Legion has been a killer everyone wanted buffed, instead they nerfed him. Nurse is someone who needed an addon rework, which both sides mostly agreed on, and they completely butchered her base kit. They didn't even listen too the archives until it went live, even though many people kept saying it was too hard at higher levels too complete. They only changed it because few people could actually complete them. The only change in recent time that the devs listen too the community is with Spirit, making her more fair too fight but not changing how strong she is, everything else has been a trainwreck IMO.
uff thats a lot of text ^^ thx for the effort
Honestly I wouldnt compare legions frenzy to wraiths M1 after uncloaking or nurses M1 after a blink. Doesnt make sense to me. So when exposed doesnt work with M1 frenzy and the reason is obvious, how is it not obvious for you with things like mangled from sloppy? Makes sense for me that it shouldnt apply and would have been confusing if it still would tbh. The "nerf" to his M1 doesnt outweight it in your opinion. Personally I like the new addons and his buffs. Doesnt mean he is perfect now. Things like majority and minority are really vague and so are killer tier lists and sorts of. So I wont deliver to the legion is worse than bubba argument. I agree, people begging for legion buffs only for him to be nerfed is really silly. So im happy he got buffed.
I completely agree with the nurse. I also dislike her basekit change. And the basekit change was never topic till ptb patchnote release. But the devs explained their decision and I can understand that. I also understand that they want to keep monitoring her to see if they went too far with the changes, instead of reverting something that was not even live for 1 month. So I keep waiting and stay positive.
In case of the oni I would ask you to read the comment in this thread from fibijean.
I really can sympathize with how you feel about nerfing/buffing killers . Nevertheless I also understand the devs. Balancing a game is a long way of try, fail and try again. Many things have to be seen on live dbd to figure out the outcome. Many things find their way into the game that are not fine tuned. Ofc the community have to play a part in the improvement of the game but its not the only important aspect.

Um how to explain .
They Take without Giving.
I.E they took Pigs End Game potential, but never gave her anything to help any other part of kit. Then they nerfed the M1 ambush attacks so they didnt apply status and stuff. While it may seem trivial they removed core parts of her kit and gameplay without helping her in any other way.
I'm not saying these were not needed just whats the point of balancing without doing both sides. They took part of her without giving her any additional help to make up for this.
Ah ok. Well imo egc was something what buffed killers. And thats why they changed the RBTs. I remember the devs saying that the pressure implemented with egc leaded to the decision to let the RBTs not go off when leaving with a not activated trap. I dont see a bad trade off here. The RBTs were intented to pressure the survivors during the game. Endgame piggy was a specific build what is still possible.
To be fair they removed the status effects on pigs dash for consistency. Thats why huntress' hatchets, legions frenzy or chainsaws also dont apply them. Idk for sure, maybe you can help me here, but didnt they buff some of her addons to make up for it? For example there are addons that apply blindness, mangled with RBTs.
I mean balance can be onesided. If something is too strong you need to tone it down and vice versa. I think the buffs/nerfs pig faced till now are justified. BUT that doesnt mean she is in a good spot now or doesnt need some love. Also if they take away and give something at the same time it can lead to another balance issue. I think it is good to take or give, revisit and then again and so on until it is fine tuned.

I personally don't mind going up against a SWF once in a while. I'll most likely get ######### on, get few to no kills, depip and have an overall bad experience, but it'll help me become a better killer in the long run. If I can manage to do alright against a good SWF then I'll be that much better going up against a solo queue. The problem for me is going up against multiple SWF in a row, or in one session. One can only get ######### on so much before losing their mind and get frustrated. So to prevent the frustration DEV's should make it known that you're in a SWF lobby. And to prevent lobby dodging offer ultra rare cosmetics only obtainable after X SWF matches. Or make it so after completing X SWF matches you'll be excluded from matchmaking with SWF lobbies for 24 hours. Just offer something as incentive for dealing with SWF.
I think its not a bad idea to make some incentives for dealing with swf. But I dont think the ability to see who is swf is good. You also never now if its a 2, 3 or 4 man swf or if they are on coms. Tbh you dont even know if they are good. There are many swf playing like newbies. I got destroyed by some solos which were cancer compared to some coordinated swfs.

Pig and Legion.
I dont mind nerfs, but a the nerfs without any real buffs to counteract them is just straight up pushing the lower tier killers down further.

Makes sense till player 5 moves to another game because he got tired of it. Making lobbies take longer which makes survivors leave. Wait what's this common sense. Leaving Behavior with true incentive to make AI killers.
What do you mean with buffs to counteract them?

I’ve been playing on the PS4 for about 2 months now. I started off as killer and noticed how easy it can be for the killer to win, although that’s the whole point in a sense.
I actually made it to Rank 4-5 as a survivor. Which I think is a lie. I feel more like an 8-10 at times. What I’m starting to see is that unless the killer is really bad at the game the team cannot win. No amount of juking, looping, flash lights, etc helps because the killer has a myriad of perks AND addons that hinders not only the team but also the environment that the survivors need to survive. Most of the survivor perks are too situational to be useful, or makes little difference. I don’t really complain about Hex Ruin because Ruin helps keep players from gen rushing. I don’t even play without Jake’s Iron Will because even if they fail to see all the scratch marks and blood they snuff me out because they hear me crying in the corn or behind some object. Unless you run all of those “meta” perks. Which then makes the hame boring. I want to play as an altruistic healer type guy, but it doesn’t matter because meta wins.
I simply feel that for survivors the game is too focused on particular perks that, without them, you lose waay more often. Like if I hit a killer with a pallet maybe it should slow their speed down to survivor speed for a few seconds. I just slammed a 35-45lb object onto your head. Yet after being stunned you’re on my ass again in like 5 seconds. Whereas when a player gets hit they leave blood, red marks, AND noise! On top of that killers like to run perks and addons which makes pallets ineffective or useless too.
What I really want to see is a buff to the survivor perks to make them all worthwhile. Why run anything like Head On when perks like Borrowed Time, Balanced Landing, and Dead Hard help you escape. Lol
I can only tell you from my perspective here. You dont need meta perks as a survivor. You said yourself that you dont feel like you belong in your current rank. From my experience all the meta perks makes survivor easier and you get used to that. You depend more on your perks than on your skill. I noticed it myself in different times. I once played with urban invasion. I got so used to it and got really bad in chases when I unequiped it. Same with dead hard. I got hit so often because I got greedy with pallets. Or my latest example is iron will. I unequiped it about a month ago. I realized how bad I got at jungle gyms and how hard it was to lose the killer without it. So now I dont play meta anymore and it improved my playstyle. I actually got a better survivor.
My advice to you is dont run perks you dont want to and only because they are meta. At the beginning you will lose many games but believe me you will learn how to play better. I have so many matches I go in even without any perks and perform better than my team mates. DbD really makes you addicted to certain perks.

Except I would have been fine about the Spirit nerf, if they didn't already nerf Nurse into oblivion, while they didn't even give a nerf to the survivor equivalent.
I feel you with nurse. I hate that cd on her fatigue. But I think they are not done with her and keep monitoring her. So I stay positive.
I dont think it has to be equivalent. For example I was really happy about the insta meds change and I think its good for the game. And more things need to be adressed and Im sure the devs already looking into many of these without us knowing. Sometimes it really feels unfair and I can completely understand that. You see so many changes to killers and in comparison so less to survivors. But the thing is survs are all the same, they are only cosmetics. Killers are very different with all their unique abilitys. Of course they need more tweaks. If you change one survivor, you change all. If you change one killer, you change only that one. And Im sure we will see some changes about survs, mechanics or maps in the future that will help to enjoying the killerside more than now.

That's not the point, the point is that instead of going to their originally plan to rework the Doctor, they instead quickly went to nerf spirit based on survivor complaints.
Which literally means they listen to survivor complaints more than the killer complaints.
Ah ok got you. I dont agree with you here. They nerfed the spirit because she "did too well". I wont deny that the community could have played a part in that. Still the argument why they listen more to survivor than killer needs is not valid. The spirit was clearly overperforming and that was an acute problem on live dbd. You were facing her literally everyday and it had influence on the game. The doctor had and has not that sort of impact on daily games as spirit had. So if the devs in your opinion would treat killers and survs the same or even prefer killer they would have changed spirit after the doctor. In regards of a healthy game that would have made no sense at all and would have been completely killersided and ignoring acute problems.

Hmm really now?
If you say they don't then why did all of a sudden the next character to get focus on was Spirit and not Doc.
The Devs metioned that after Nurse was "reworked" they would do Doctor next, but instead they listen to the survivor community and Spirit was next to get nerfed.
It's obvious they listen to the survivor community based on the example above that the Devs did.
Tbh I never felt that the spirit changes were a rework, more a hotfix. And yes because the problem with spirit "overperforming" got obvious they changed her not only based on survivor complains. In this view the doctor is the next rework after nurse.

This analogy makes no sense. How is Legion getting nerfed into oblivion good for us? How is the devs ignoring the community and nerfing Oni and Nurse good for us?
There are times where the devs do ting the community doesn't want for the better, like the Spirit changes, but that doesn't apply here. They took a weak killer (Legion) and then nerfed him for a bad reason. Oni was fine, everyone loved him and they were happy with him, and they nerfed him anyway and are lying about it, saying it was a "bug."
The legion got changed due to consistency. Eg sloppy shouldnt be applied by something other than normal M1 attack. Many addons got a buff and a nice change and I dont think bE are done with legion yet. Overexaggeration wont bring good. I like the way the changes for legion went so far. Imo it is good they change him step by step. Maybe it is not good for you, but keep in mind not everyone shares the same opinion.
I am also not happy with the current nurse but I understand why they changed her. Overall I think it was the right decision to overwork her addons. Im not a fan of her basekit changes what makes her unfun for me. Still the "new" nurse isnt live for that long, so I understand when the devs want to wait and monitor. I dont see any problem with the oni. And to say that the devs ignore the community is just not true. Im sorry if you feel that way. We dont share this experience.
Like I said, only because a community wants something doesnt mean it gets implemented or will work out fine. Where did they lie about oni? It was in the patchnotes that it doesnt work as intented.

-
Its not holding a game hostage imo. As solo I had a lot of these situations where you simply wait for the other survivor to get caught or try to search in the chests for a key. Also it gives the killer time to search for the hatch if 3 gens at least were done. And well, the survs are still on the map so you can find them even without whispers. Dont think its only boring for the killer. I encountered this situation as killer and survivor.
-
I think Freddy is pretty strong atm. At least on console.
For me there was no problem with his addons that got nerfed if I faced them not in certain combinations.
1. You can name it "forever freddy" or whatsoever, its just a term so who cares.
2. Ofc its logical to wake up when facing freddy. But I wake myself up to counter dream pallets or dream snares at least before the first hit, not for addons he is running. Failing a skill check or snap n clap are the worst ways for it. And all are penalized: Finding another survivor who is awake, regression on gen/healing and revealing your location, or walk over the map to the clock and not to mention the doubled wake up animation for each time. So you trade a penalty for a penalty.
Idk why you mention dream pallets?
3. How is it punishing the killer for keeping survs in dream world? dont get that at all.
4. Only because these slowdown addons were nerfed doesnt mean that another completely different thing like the gen speed in general is fine.
Imo the nerf was justified. If you look at freddy and his whole kit he is pretty good. Thats why certain perks with addons on him took it a bit too far. I played him with slowdown and I felt miserable. It felt like a long one sided match for me and I got too much room for mistakes. When I played as survivor against this build I suffered through it. It was not only unfun, it was frustrating.
-
Like I understood it, tru3 didnt want to show that wraith is viable. He wanted to show WHAT makes a killer viable. So having no terror radius, get the first hit easy and catch survs off guard just like ghostface makes a killer strong, instead of alarming survs with a terror radius and following them into loops.
keep in mind that tru3 is not a wraith main and he couldnt perform with other killers so consistently 4ks.

That opens up a whole new different type of game in my eyes. I think everyone will find that this type of game is probably better than having someone being taken out of the equation completely, and there are workarounds to slugging and waiting for a gen to pop.
But there are workarounds to the current moris and keys as well.
I like the idea for the moris although I dont see a big change.
In regards to the keys:
dull key: I think it would be the worst if you could escape through the hatch without triggering egc.
skeleton key: whats the change here?
-
Is the Christmas spirit a new cosmetic I missed?
Already got my hands on yuis' sweater. Like it a lot ♡
-
What ranks does your sister have?
-
so if you hook 1 survivor you can mori him when 1 gen is done. Doesnt sound like a change to me. Also if you hook him and no gen is done you can still tunnel him and slug till a gen pops. So your stated problem with an early kill wouldnt be solved imo.

How about you go to these threads then instead of staying here?

If it scales down and up there would be little point in having a devotion ranking system in the first place, as each devotion level requires huge amounts of hours to gain. And because a lot of people aren't gonna have devotion levels higher than 1, you are much more likely to match with your regular red rankers.
I get what you mean, making it so you have a higher chance of going against better players, but adding this system isn't going to effect like 95% of the player base, making it kinda pointless.
yeah well thats true. I think I got biased by playing R1 every season. The needs for players in red, purple, etc are different. So ofc I see things as red rank player and get frustrated by getting teamed with lower ranks or play vs lower ranks. Oviously I wish for a more acurate matchmaking. true that would only balance around a small amount of the player base

Even if rank is not currently an accurate reflection of skill, it is a very rough one, and the ranking system and how it reflects player skill is much easier for the devs to manipulate than a player's hours spent ingame.
So although they didn't phrase it in the kindest or most productive way, they do have a point. Hours ingame means very little in terms of player skill, and it would be a bad idea to base a matchmaking system off that rather than a different system which is specifically designed to test and rank players according to their skill level.
Yes I get that. But that would imply that the ranking system reflects the skill level of a player, which is not the case imo. Ofc there are players that dont even get to rank 1. Still you can make it by understanding the emblem system and go for these scoring events. So I think its not really skill based, its more about understanding how to pip.

since a bunch of killer mains have been recently complaining about DS, yet i still see lots of NOED in high rank, you have no grounds on which to complain. you can’t be for one thing and against another, especially on perks that are similar in nature.
some killer, a wraith, who shall remain nameless, got upset when i had and effectively utilized DS, yet ran NOED which was blown up immediately EGC, calling me a “crutch perk user.”
first off, survivors have to actively work to disable NOED. the killer does nothing/no criteria has to be met on his/her end. so not only is my time being jeopardized in cleansing, but i also got verbally abused by a killer who denies to think on both sides of the fence
so please, be courteous and think on both sides. yes, DS might be annoying, but realize your NOED isn’t any better in nature.
Sounds to me like you got triggered by a wraith with questionable mindset. If you get verbally abused, thats not Ok regardless the cricumstances.
"you can’t be for one thing and against another" - well I think you can.
I think its not a great idea to compare killer perks to survivor perks. You should look at them seperately.
Noed's counter is cleansing totems or find the enlighted one. And most of the totem spots are really not that great. Sometimes funny how 4 players cant cleanse 5 totems or remember their spots. Even if noed procs its not like you just fall to the ground and lost a game. btw you get points for cleansing and yes you wont be able to sit on a gen for 14 seconds. fbm
DS is great vs tunnelers. You can just slug them for 60 seconds but thats half a gen. So you have to play really strategic to counter that. I see the problem with DS that there are player who abuse it in a way its not intented. Cant count the times I got DS'ed for not tunneling.
In terms of annoying I agree. they both are.

You really want matchmaking based on time spent playing the game, over the current somewhat skill based rank system? Anyone can spend 2000 hours on the game and get devotion 5, doesnt mean they are good, very bad idea
Lol yes. Im pretty sure that game experience is connected to time spent in a game. I dont think we have a skill based rank system. Anyone can make it to rank one, even new players with little playtime, doesnt mean they are good or are skilled

Haven't touched it in years, probably won't if it stays like it is.
But that's only because of what it is, not because of how powerful it is, i think it's fine where it is.
Do you have any thoughts about how you would imagine a whispers thats worth picking for your loadout?

Killers don't leave the hook the moment they notice a survivor - imagine procsing a perk that gives u that informantion even if the other surivivor is literally on the other end of its range. The killer will just become paranoid and check every corner till the hooked one dies
Yeah youre right. Considering this whispers would really help in camping or make killers check around the hook for longer even without clear evidence.

If you honestly don't see people bum rushing hooks when someone is hooked, you must not play a lot of survivor. It's a thing.
Again (yes for the third time, since you'll rudely call me out on that again), it's fine where it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's like that by design.
I play mainly survivor atm. I know its a thing and I dont see why bad playstyle like bum rushing the hook is an argument for whispers not working on hooked survivors. Maybe you could clarify that to me.
I didnt mean to be rude. I just wanted to let you know I read all the comments. If you feel that way, then Im sorry, that wasnt intented.
Thats exactly what I want to know. I asked for your opinions. I understand your point. So thanks for sharing

There is ALWAYS someone near the hook. 8/10 times. It would be too strong and is perfect how it is.
I get that you think its perfect how it is. no need to mention that twice.
I dont really think theres 8/10 someone near the hook. also I think its a bad idea as survivor to stay close to a freshly hooked.

I play on console and think nurse is in a bad position at the moment. I dont know how it is on PC but let me speak my thoughts about her. Nurse was never often picked on console to begin with. But I see her even less now as R1 survivor. Most of these nurse matches result in a total loss for the killer. I used to play her before the nerf and performed pretty well without using addons. It took practise but it was fun seeing getting better being rewarded.
Im still playing her but for me its very different now. I dont go into a match without addons anymore and I still struggle. If you missjudge a double blink the survivor gets pretty far away und its easier for them to break los. Travel over the map just feels awful for me. It really is unfun playing her. I dont like her anymore and play other killers more nowadays.
I dont understand people saying she is still tier 1. That doesnt help me with anything. Maybe she is but she is still no fun for me. I dont care if there are still god nurses in dbd. I am not but I love this killer and want to have good matches with her without playing 24/7 nurse 8k hours to have good matches. I also want to go against her more often and not say :GG nurse she has no chance, when loading into the game as survivor. Its not about if she can still 4k or not or if streamers eradicate survivors with her. Its about who else plays her and performs well? I dont only play nurse and I think its good to play every killer. So you could say im a casual nurse player. But like she is now i cant do sh.. with her. So what can I do to feel rewarded playing her? On other killers I have the same amount of hours and perform significantly better.
