Seriously? Why was this removed? This was one of the few things survivors had to mind game or outplay a killer. It wasn't a broken mechanic and was something that did not need to removed. Why do the devs always "fix" stuff that no one complains about yet keep broken things everyone complains about in the game?
At first I was shocked this tech was gone. But tbh its a good decision. You shouldnt be able to use the hooked as meatshield although not everyone could pull it off. I think its a bad idea to unhook in the face of the killer in first place.

Btw how does that work exactly?
Like, how do you quantify it? Because it's not easy to use subjective qualities such as happiness to measure objective ones like a win state.
You right. The enjoyment I get is set by things that tell me I did good. The only actual thing in DbD that tells you how you performed is the emblem score or if you de-, black-, double- or pipped. You can say with a black pip I feel neutral. Like I didnt win nor lose. But theres a difference in playing killer and survivor for me. If I play killer and I black pip it feels very unrewarding. Imo killer is more stressful, more pressure and needs concentration throughout the whole game. That doesnt mean I want easy games or always a win within my mindset.
I win as killer if I at least pip. The game tells me I did good and I get a pip. Due to that I feel satisfied. Its very hard for me to understand others who find games (other than meme/troll games) satisfying in which they didnt pip.
As survivor i find other things satisfying. Its not even about defining a win or a loss. I can have a good game because I did flash saves, long chases, etc. Doesnt matter if I pip or not. But If I hook 3 survivors in a game and all gens pop, all escape on their death hook, I have to resort to tunnel or camp, get tbaged, flashed, messaged after the game, etc. and didnt even pip, its hard for me to say I lost but it was fun. because its not the case.
I hope I could explain how I dont measure the win with something subjective. Sorry for my lacking english ^^ hope you could understand.

Well if you are using your enjoyment to determine a win then no wonder you've never had a satisfying loss. You've literally defined a loss as being unsatisfying.
You summed it up perfectly ^^ thank you

Spine chill doesn't stack with resilience, not worth the perk slot. Had people test it in kyf for me when they added the vault speed back to them.
Pretty sure it does. Although I cant profide evidence. Had never heard anything other. I asked many streamer and players in other forums. So I got really confident in it.
-
Im also very disappointed in the challenges. They force you to play a certain way. I dont have fun hooking 5 survivors in the basement and sure they dont have either. I cant enjoy a match if I need to complete 4 gens in one trial. Seems like these challenges were ment to be unfun and going out of your usual way. You could argue that they were intented to test new things out. But where is the sense in equipping unnerving presence or what its called and prevent the gates from opening.
The only challenge I liked was the one in which you needed to earn iri emblems. You got only motivated to do better. Perfect challenge. The others are a joke.
-
I used to play demo a lot because I love his design and ability. Yeah I agree his addons are kind of worthless. I never equiped any because I didnt feel any impact using them. Definitly something I would vote up to see some better addons

Why resilence and spinechill?
resilence is over all great if you are injured. you can do gens faster, heal faster, vault faster, do totems faster and the bet of all open gates faster. Spinechill is amazing against stealth killers and tbh there are many GF players atm. But also just for knowing the killer looks in your direction and will come to you is a great way to get into hiding or get some distance. If spinechill is active in a chase, most like is, you also get additional vault speed what adds up to 15% with resilence.
I also often escaped when the hatch gets closed. You can open the gate pretty fast if you are injured. Its significant.
-
looking at some of her cosmetics she is more like 50 shades of undetectable
-
Play one time swf and you are done with this challenge. Doing it solo will take you a lot of time. I wouldnt bother
-
Depends. If I want to farm BP I equip wglf, deliverance, ds and prove thyself. My main loadout is dead hard, iron will, resilence and spinechill. Got great synergy. Its focused around being injured. You get many advantages like faster vaulting. you have something against stealth killers and can mindgame even when injured.

So BHVR removes the ability for solo survivors to see the ranks of who they are playing with to prevent lobby dodging.
So so let’s make it fair. Killers can no longer see survivors while in lobby. Why? Because lots of killers out there will lobby dodge if they see the same group of toxic survivors.
Or they might lobby dodge if they see the following:
4 toolboxes
4 blendettes with flashlights
1 key, a map and tool boxes together
multiple survivors with the same clan tag
this lobby dodging increases the wait time for everyone and should be remedied ASAP!
But seriously, just let us see the ranks again, or prevent killers from seeing the fact that me and my friends brought 3 keys. They may use that as an excuse to lobby dodge.
plz BHVR lemme see the ranks again.
It was a bug. Also to set killers on the same level as survivors in terms of pre game information is just a bad idea.
The day Im not allowed to dodge a 4 man swf I know for playing toxic is the day I delete DbD.
-
Maybe Im wrong here, but I thought DbD as survivor is about teamwork and chase. If you have fun hiding and doing gens its ok but its also like only playing a part of the game. And in terms of teamwork playing immersed will often get your team killed. Ofc its good if the killer doesnt find you immediately and wastes time for searching. But if you never get chased and one player dies and you havent been even hooked there is something wrong. Many immersive players also tend to unhook and hide right after. Many dont take protection hits, set priorities wrong or are too inexperienced in chases due to playing always immersed. Imo I dont know why you should play DbD if you like playing hide and seek the whole game. There are many other games better suited for this playstyle. And yes I admit I dodge bush people at R1.

No I didn't but that sounds funny 😀 and a lot like no one thought about WHEN to mend I'm assuming this was on small maps because I find that working/happening on the large to medium size maps unlikely
But its ridiculous that you can finish mending and get hit by frenzy again. they mend so quickly. And now survs are in control of deep wounds instead of legion
-
So this here is totally my personal opinion.
You can have fun games where players just troll or do silly stuff. But I cant determine here any win or loss. In regular games as killer I win if I get 3 or 4 survivors on dead hook and at least one pip. I dont know what a satisfying loss is. How can I be satysfied with a loss? Dont get it.
As survivor I really never have the feeling of a lost game even if the killer 4ks. I almost never depip. I cant say I won as survivor if I escape, when the game tells me I pip even if I die.
- What exactly are you using to determine a win vs a loss? - I use my enjoyment. If I enjoyed a game, I won. I had a good match and had fun.
- Were you a Killer or a Survivor? - Doesnt matter. I can enjoy games as killer and survivor
- Do you care about rank? If so do you usually rank up when this happens? - Ofc I care about rank. I cant have a good match when Im not pipping. Pips are the only things in DbD telling you how you performed. (Regardless if the pip system is good or bad.)
- How frequently does this (whatever your satisfying loss is) happen to you? - Too less to be happy, too often to quit DbD
- SWF or Solo primarily? - Atm 50/50

Actions speak louder than words, and their actions are LOUD they adjusted the deep wounds mechanic while giving legion players booty, a piddly little adjustment that barely effects him at all. They needed Oni 3 times already and once was before he even left the ptb lol. While ignoring legitimate concerns about his power no I'm not just talking about his "flick" on console either,
Adding additional debuffs to strong killers acting like the current ones didn't matter or nurse now having to wait even longer to get her fully ability back after blinking, because it's not like she ALREADY had a cool down they literally added a cool down on top of a cool down lmao.
Imagine just believing what's said and not following the evidence
When I saw the dev Q&A stream I laughed so hard when they said deep wound couldnt be abused anymore. Well at least the killer cant abuse it anymore xD
Did you see by chance the otz video where he stabbed the survs in an everlasting circle of get frenzy hit, mend, get frenzy hit, mend, etc xD?
-
So true. In solo queue Im always annoyed that nobody is doing gens. But as I equiped Dark Sense and went for the challenge I literally screamed get off those gens dang it.

I know right ? Survivors actually scare me sometimes. But the corn, yeah can burn after the rank system 😂 . Id actually DC from any one of those with the widest corn field.
I play at a time where I get matched with arabs a lot. I swear they all drop coldwind farm -.- . Then I teamed up with them for swf. Literally every game coldwind farm. Are there even other maps? I feel more like a farmer and less like a killer ^^

yeah but balancing around the 5% best (even tho with the new system it would soon be the 20% bests) would be pretty horrible for all the casual gamers and of course the new players which would give them even less reasons to play it, so well, that's definitely how you kill your game
It was just a joke ^^ sorry for baiting you.
There are so many thing wrong atm and all piles up. I understand that bE introduced a new rank reset and matchmaking system to improve the queue times. But it really worked out bad and im sure it will worsen. I think its good to balance around the majority of the playerbase. But on the same note you feel left behind if you are in the 5%.

glad to see everyone agrees the new rank reset is going to explode even more, not even talking about the fact that eventually everyone will end up in red ranks making lower ranks queues atrocious and match making even more tedious
i hope they change back to the old system soon, it's still better than having to play in a thousand unbalanced games with 10 minutes long queues (not even talking about how awful it must be on console)
the system clearly failed at making the matchmaking better, and will eventually take off the monthly goal off becoming a rank 1, with longer queues for new players
this was a bad idea, i hope they got it, and will go back to the old system soon so they can work on a new system that would actually work
Agree completely.
I always try to see things positive. But its really hard in this case.
Well maybe if the majority of the playerbase is red ranks they will balance around that. Would be something new xD

If I’m reading that part about the mentality correct(I’m just asking not arguing, the way I word my posts might sound that way) you don’t want to use insanely strong things because it’s unfun and I don’t know if you also intended this but it also keeps people from knowing how to counter it when you do
Im sorry maybe I word myself incorrectly. English isnt my first language^^
I do like using these insanely strong thing from time to time. But I would feel bad if I use them every game. Thats not because I have no fun with them or it gets too easy. Rather its people denying me to play with these thing. They dc at the beginning or give up. I want to play games and see them through till the end.
Its not intented but you are right. By not using them I take the chance from others to learn. On the other hand there are people who dont want to lern how to face these things.

Happened to me too dont worry, right now i cant tell if it's even more broken than before but sure i can tell you it's awful.
Feels like there's a shortage of killers in most regions, making survivors queues longer and longer (especially solo queues) and matchmaking more and more inaccurate
Well lately I get faster queues as survivor. But almost always lower rank than R1 where im at. It doesnt feel fair on both sides atm. Tbh I can understand people pushing killer aside for the time being, so did I.
I agree. I also feel like it will get even worse. Its the first *new* rank reset and I already see negative outcome. And that ofc adds up with the matchmaking. Honestly I would prefer the old one.
Omg its so messed up. Makes me sad even thinking about it

Yeah well I dont think people use a mori to derank. Also being an ass is not that right imo. Rather they like the mori animation, want a just for fun game so less sweaty or give some survs a challenge

actually i'm more of a killer main, but since im already in red ranks, i cant tell- it's the usual "those red ranks are bad / those ones are godlike" matching for me
but clearly the matchmaking sucks right now
I used to play red ranks too. but since 2 months I play more survivor so I dropped really low as killer. Sure nothing changed if you always play in red ranks, but all the killers that hit rank 10 and higher get often matched with red ranks. I think its really rare to encounter a surv team on your rank or lower. Seems like theres only rank range +6 for killers.
-

I know but it started AFTER that rank reset for me
Since it, I can't play survivor anymore because the game puts me again and again and again against and with new players all the time
So even if matchmaking and ranking systems are bigger problems, for me it's the new rank reset system that broke it.
You should give playing killer a try. Its fun to get matched with 2 colours of ranks above you^^
-
Im considering a break atm. Even my squad gets exhausted playing killer and survivor. The current matchmaking was a decisive game changer for us. I think its good to play other games now and then.

I see where your coming from but I think they can be quite suppresses to anyone that feels like playing the game someone said a charged system like 4-5 charges and you can Mori anyone stops tunneling and cancels out an early kill and I also believe that using a mori to destroy a key is a problem it’s just the toxic nature keys and Moris should be changed so this encounter is changed or not even worth while.
What do you mean with charges exactly?
You know I think the game offers many different scenarios. The games with moris and keys are a lot more challenging. And I think that is good. It really feels awesome if you escape versus a noed ebnoy mori killer whos campy or tunneling. On the other hand its nice to 4k against a team with good items.
If we talk about moris it all comes down to teamwork as survivors. And there is the problem with moris. No teamwork no chance.
Another problem I see when you would nerf moris is the feeling behind it. Tbh if I equip a mori my intent is to give them a hard time. I would feel really bad equipping a mori every match and it isnt recommended if you want to pip. If they nerf it Im sure many players will use it more frequently. I think the mentallity to use strong things not that often is good. Eg I have a load of iri hatchets addons on my huntress but I barely to never use them. If they get nerfed I wouldnt have any bad feelings to use them every game.
-
I once got yelled at for using no mither in combination with selfcare, inner strength and fixated. Some people dont understand memes i guess xD
As killer I got yelled at for using franklins a lot.
I had a time when I ran beast of pray almost in every build. I got many many messages :D

Fair point about the hound. Maybe in another ten years? 😋
I feel like it would be pretty cool if the Huntress got a new themed animal mask every Lunar New Year, though. Or maybe the Trapper or Oni or even Legion some years, if we want to keep the cosmetic distribution a bit more even.
Tbh I dont think new players will even miss these cosmetics. They are only cool because they are exclusive. There are 10 better huntress masks. But 10 years sound reasonable xD.
Maybe they really plan to do so. I was kinda shocked that she got another new year cosmetic 2019. Cant wait for the winter event cosmetic *.* she looks like a mad rudolf :D
Yeah sounds good. Well I play legion not that often but susies' sweater was a no brainer to get xD Im always hyped for new awesome cosmetics ♡
-
I listen to the screams of my fellow survivors and prey as killer. muhahahaha
-
I would also be ok with the idea by earning the cosmetics. The thing is I dont think the year of the hound will come back soon. The summer event seemed like a one time thing. it was a total desaster back then. The events were really bad where you could get the cosmetics. Idk about bringing them up again. I also wouldnt mind if the cosmetics stay exclusive in the sake of the word "exclusive"
-
They already reduced the grind with the implementation of 3 perks and 4 perks aviable in each bloodweb in higher levels. Theres also the shrine where you can buy perks instead of unlocking them by leveling the survivor/killer. There are many event with offerings that give more bp and even double bp event. Ofc its annoying to grind a lot but I also think it shouldnt be too easy. You need to think about where you put your bp in. Imo theres no need for easier grind.

Yeah i get that just move to the next game but i mean it shouldn't be so ez
I think its difficult. I usually play R1. The most killers playing with mori use it when they go up against swf or keys and stuff. They dont often use it because its hard to pip with it and want to stay in red ranks. But lower ranks is another world. Lately I get matched with green rank killers often. They use ebony mori just for fun, even against solo survs without items. If I would play green ranks I would go insane and I totally understand that its a lot more common there. I think the requirements to use the mori are ok and you can only use it with benefit if you use it for one early kill or kill the survs after the 2nd hook. I think the mori shouldnt be changed. The game should change in a direction where everyone can perform good in their rank without the need of mori. It should be more like a fun thing to use imo.

Uh... So blessed I am not :).
In exchange to that, I often run into either swfs, or well equipped survivors.
Hardly survivors that I would see on the same skill-level as me, but that is ok. Only with better enemies I can by myself getting better. That is the hard truth :|.
Well we all have to deal with them. I see it like you. You can only learn and get better ^^
-
@Talmeer said:
I had in the last days 2, maybe 3 dcs.
That's not much imo. But maybe it is because I play most of the time killers that are not known for being "strong". So, I guess nobody makes a "panic-dc" just because he sees my killer somewhere running around.
You are blessed. Idk even know if its because of the rank or because I play on console or whatever. I mainly play huntress without addons and get quite a lot of dc.
-
@Apple2o said:
No, it's pretty much the norm. I would guess maybe 1/3 games a survivor DC's the first time they go down, handing me a free 3-4k. Or, from there, literally every survivor DCs and then I depip.
They need to up the punishment imo. If you can't handle losing, don't play the game. It screws over the other survivors way too much. At least if they have the decency to kill themselves on hook I get my perk procs and BBQ stack.
yeah my thoughts. With dc everyone gets an unfun game and lately its really obvious. I played 5 surv games today and not one without a dc. I even had a oni in a 1 v 3 match due to a dc at the beginning. After a chase with him he dced too. like #########
-
I like the idea but what concerns me is that you trigger endgame with closing the hatch. So even if 1 surv gets out and you close the hatch you give the other 3 players one gen less to repair. So its still a advantage for all remaining survivors. I dont know if that is fair though. So nvm me
-
I have instant killer queue times. idk what you talking about. clearly bait refering to those statistics you trying to base your argument of. Win is subjective btw. to farm a lot of BP you need bbq and hook every survivor, so you use a perk slot and still have to perform well. I dont see where the game is easy for killers. Super onesided thread

Every other weekend, there should be an alternate game mode made available. Once the game mode has been released, it should be permanently available in custom games. There are virtually an infinite number of options available (and I'd love to hear everyone's ideas) but here are a few I've come up with:
Specific Killer VS Specific Survivor using only their perks at rank 3. For example, The Shape vs Laurie, The Clown vs Kate, or The Pig vs Detective Tapp.
Super Speed: Both killer and survivor have 30% increased runspeed.
Darkest Night:The map is pitch black. Survivors all have flashlights that are permanently in the "on" position. The killer has night vision up to 15 feet.
2 killers vs 6 suvivors
Random 12: Both killer and survivors all have 12 random rank 3 perks.
Back to Basics: No perks, items, or add ons.
Casual Mode: All perks are reduced to rank 1. Items and add ons are restricted to common or uncommon. Offerings are restricted to ones that can increase bloodpoint gain.
Entity's Eyes: Strange wards appear throughout the map. Anyone (killer or survivor) that passes within 10 meters of a ward will have their aura revealed to everyone on the map. The wards periodically change location.
Treasure Hunt: No generators on the map. Lots of locked chests are around the map which the killer can see as auras. Survivors must pick the lock requiring skill checks before opening. Most of the chests give survivors a bloodpoint bonus for opening. One chest per map will have a 25,000 bloodpoint bonus. Exit gates are powered after 10 minute timer and chests can't be unlocked after that timer.
Shopping Spree: Survivors are restricted from bringing items into the match and there are no chests to loot. However, there are 2 zombie vendors that spawn in the match. As survivors and killers perform actions that earn bloodpoints, they also earn another form of currency. They can go to the zombie vendors to purchase items and add ons of their choice. Killers can purchase temporary bonus buffs such as 60 seconds 5% movement increase, 40 seconds survivors have exposed status, etc.
Totally Random: All Perks, Items, Add Ons, and Offerings are randomly chosen. Perks are chosen from all possible perks and are at rank 3 (regardless whether the player has unlocked the perk or what rank the player's perks are currently at). Items, Add Ons, and Offerings are chosen from all possible options minus event specific offerings. These Items, Add Ons, and Offerings do not consume the player's resources. They are provided by the entity.
Infection:8 players join a lobby. When the match starts, one is randomly selected to be a random killer with no perks or add ons. The remaining 7 are survivors with no perks or items. There are no hooks on the map, but the killer can Mori survivors in the dying state. Once a survivor is killed they will respawn as a random killer with no perks or add ons. Killers that successfully Mori a survivor earn 1,000 BP. The longer a survivor lives, the larger the bloodpoint bonus at the end.
First Survivor Killed earns 2500 BP
Second Survivor Killed earns 3000 BP
Third Survivor Killed earns 5000 BP
Fourth Survivor Killed earns 7000 BP
Fifth Survivor Killed earns 10,000 BP
Sixth Survivor Killed earns 15,000 BP
Last Survivor Killed earns 20,000 BP
Randomly Selected Killer earns 10,000 BP
Survivors can work on generators, but it takes completion of all 7 generators to power the exit gate. Any survivors that actually escape via the exit gate earn the standard 5,000 BP. Survivors aren't realistically going to escape, nor is it really the goal. The real goal is to be the last survivor alive.3 Life Survivors: Survivors have 3 "lives". When the killer catches and puts them on a hook the survivor loses 1 life and is put in a ghost world for 45 seconds after losing the first life and 30 seconds after losing the second life. While the survivor is in the ghost world they can not interact with any objects other than ones that can be vaulted. The world appears black and white and the survivor can not see or touch the other players. They can, however, move at 85% normal move speed to explore the map to find the locations of generators, chests, and totems (though ghost players can not tell the difference between active and inactive totems). The survivor will also earn some bloodpoints for distance traveled in the ghost world.
After the timer is up the survivor will appear on a random hook at least 32 meters away from the killers current location. The survivor on the hook will see the shroud indication from Insidious around them. This indicates that the killer can not see them on the hook. In fact, the hook that the survivor is on will appear broken to the killer. Other survivors can see the aura of the hooked survivor and unhook them normally at which point they are back in the game. While a survivor is hooked there is no progress meter and there is no struggle phase. Survivors can attempt to free themselves from the hook, but the baseline success chance is 0% for the first attempt and increases by 1% for each attempt after. Attempts for the survivor to free themselves will take 4 seconds. If all the survivors are either dead, in ghost world time out, or hooked then the killer wins. Survivors hooked in the basement are sent to the ghost world for an additional 30 seconds. Perk Slippery Meat is locked in this game mode (since it wouldn't really do anything).I like the idea of alternative modes and the things you mentioned. But honestly I think thats not gonna happen, maybe in custom games at best These modes sound pretty challenging and regarding the struggle many players already have with the "normal mode" it will be too much imo. I think the biggest problem will be the further seperation of the player base. Players divide into normal and custom games. If you even add one more mode I dont want to know how long queue times will take.
