I’ll tell you what I think.

In real life, i edit novels. If a writer send me his manuscript, I’ll work on it and he will pay me and we’ll be fine.

That’s the normal kind of relationship that exists between service and customer.

Now thing is, if I’d say to this writer “Your first chapter will be ready Oct, 22” he’ll be expecting his chapter Oct 22. Not 23, not 24, not in November, and my “I will let you know” simply won’t cut it. He will just find another editor. What could ease the relationship between me and my customer? A peace offering.

This is how I do things in real life. I am not saying that BHVR owes us anything, I am not even saying that I am pissed off. I am not. I don’t care they postponed the event and I’m still hyped up for the mid chapter and looking forward to everything that comes with it. But if you ask what I WOULD HAVE DONE, that’s it. Double Bloodpoints until the Blight comes.

Also, we do not have a contract with BEhavior and we can still play the game regardless. They are not required to give us updates, they do because they love making the game better. Why give us something more when we already get a great game?

  • We get content and it's not their fault they experienced a set back. No. We shouldn't get anything. We are already getting an event and a Blood Hunt. I think that is enough.

  • GGs don't come as often for us on Ps4, but I did get one today which was nice. I've been reported just because the guy didn't like me and had apparently been reporting alot of the killers he lost against. I ask customer service about this one and they said abusing the report system can get you banned. So I reported him instead.

  • Just don't let it get to you. I compliment survivors who message me after games (Ps4 doesn't have after game chat) and alot of them hate it. Crap talk comes naturally to some people because that's how they vent their frustrations or they don't win much and they blame all killers, If it goes too far, you can always report them for harassment. And before anyone says anything, yes, they do ban people for death threats and the like. It does suck people can be mean and there isn't much that can be done, but being positive annoys those toxic people. So being positive is my advice.

  • Intimidating has a good debuff at the cost of watching the killer, so survivors would be more likely to look away and catch glimpses only. In retrospect, I would probably make the debuff higher (about 25%) and make the effect last 1s/2s/3s after looking away to discourage anyone from looking at the killer.

Call of Darkness was a quick thought up idea. If I wanted to add another feature to it, or just rework it, I would give the unhooker the oblivious status for 40s/50s/60s.

Eyes for Shadows would let you see the crows fly. I thought about a loud noise notification, but survivors don't get loud noise notifications. I would probably give them a crow sound though. I know some maps would have a crapton of crows, but that's just a drawback for certain maps. If I give them a set limit to something like 30m with a 32m terror radius, there's no reason to have the perk, but to find teammates. Basically a worse version of Bond. It doesn't work inside a terror radius because I would think the auras could be disorienting as you are running from a killer.

Preparation is still my baby. I love it for what it is. My bias refuses to listen to reason, but I know it kinda sucks. There would only be select few who want to use it just like Lightborn ;P My idea was something to do with a flashlight, because it fits with a paranormal investigator. My only "balanced" thought was to make it like Pharmacy.

In other words, some tweaks may be needed to make them all viable, but I don't want anything to be too overpowering or completely useless. All in all, we don't always get groundbreaking perks, but there is usually one or two good ones in a set. Thanks again for the feedback.

  • Can we expect new features in the future such as adding new statuses or an update to the totem system? Or anything new in general for the core game?

  • @Critical_Fish said:

Over all, love the concepts. Everything down to the perks have a theme, though sometimes only loosely followed. But there are a few missing things that could change a lot of things, along with some things just being borderline useless. I'll try to come up with some fixes for these things. Another set of eyes can be helpful, of course.

First off: What speed does the Demon move at, what height, and what is their Terror Radius? I was thinking 115% (4.6m/s), Tall, and 32 meters, but just wanted to make sure you didn't have other ideas.

Also, how long can Tormented Soul last? How long is the average/enhanced range of the lunge? Small things, but they can definitely help in figuring out any other changes to numbers. Another note, I don't think a 25 second long cooldown is needed. Instead, if missing Vengeful Flight and hitting a wall, it should stun the Demon? Kinda like the Demogorgon's lunge. But, unlike Demogorgon's lunge, maybe change it so there's a greater turning radius, like half the turning radius of a regular lunge or something, that's for you to decide.

Possession is an amazing perk, and fits with the listed themes of the perks in general. One thing, however; How many people does it effect?

Intimidating is odd, what would it's use be? It actively gives the Survivors information, for a minimal upside. Possibly show the aura of Survivors within the Killer's terror radius for 3 to 5 seconds after injuring a Survivor? Just an idea, or it could only apply a debuff. Like instead of showing the aura, it applies a 4/8/12% debuff to all Survivors within 48 meters for a set time after injuring a Survivor? Just ideas. In general, Intimidating is a good concept.

Call of Darkness is almost amazing. I just think it should be when outside of 30 meters of a hook, it should apply the extra progression. And, Survivors unhooking when you're 30 meters or more away should have their aura revealed, or a debuff applied to them. Amazing idea nonetheless, good job!

Now for the Survivor, Gabriel. Take everything I say from now on with a grain of salt, as I'm a Killer main.

Eyes For Shadows is a cool perk, but can you see the crows flying away? Also, the range is too far away. Maybe within 30/36/42 meters? I know the range is technically shortened, but it's still a good amount of information, if you can see crows flying away. The "while not in the Killer's terror radius" part is useless, why is that there? In my eyes, that removes all functionality the perk has. But if you wanna keep it as a way to track from a distance and not things that are an immediate threat to you, or can immediately help you, I guess that's fine. Doesn't make sense to me, but it's all personal preference.

Ambiance is really cool, I see nothing wrong with it. Good job with this one! It's a good deal of information, and allows for good training wheels to predict where the Killer is walking.

Preparation helps, I guess? Most people who want an item will bring one in, and once it's gone, oh well. Most people searching chests just want good items in the future, and this would only help find flashlights. Maybe if you were doing an action, you'd get an alert when the killer was walking in your direction? Kinda like Premonition, but without a cool down. Also, why not flat percentages since Preparation is a perk and not an add-on?

In general, great idea. Just a few things to make it better. Thank you for reading through this mess of a response.

It's a normal killer. Tall, 32m TR and 115% movement speed, but drops to 110% with Tormented Soul active.

Tormented Soul will cause survivors to hear the voices for 5 seconds max after out of the terror radius, but addons would extend this time.

The Flight ability I thought up as mostly a movement based ability to get around faster, but can be used as a lunge. I considered making it to be like the Hillbilly's chainsaw while Tormented Soul was active, but thought the extension was enough. The cooldown I considered was high, but that was because it would cover several meters with Tormented Soul. Think twice the length of Shred for Demogorgan, but not as fast as Shred.

Possession can be inflicted on all survivors, but can only activate once per hit. They don't stack, by the way.

Intimidating only works while in a chase and The Demon has undetectable with Tormented Soul. Survivors will still suffer the penalty for looking in his direction, but without seeing him. Other addons can increase the range of Tormented Soul and I thought of one that causes Tormented Soul to cover the map while in a chase. I didn't add this in the main concept or any other addons because I had little time and if I forget a concept, it's gone forever.

Call of Darkness is the anti tunnel perk that rewards you for getting away from a hook, thus the long ranges. I considered 32m, but that can easily be made up with most killers, so there is a gap where it does nothing, until you get far enough away to benefit from it. Also, if you chase someone around the hook, it progresses as normal so survivors can't take advantage of it.

Eyes for Shadows is made to track the killer while they are not too close to hear their Terror Radius. It does make sense to see crows closer, but Ambiance makes up for that for being anti-stealth killer.

I am also a killer main and the one thing I love facing is someone with a flashlight. I randomly run Lightborn all the time. With this, survivors have a bigger chance to get flashlights and they are less likely to get keys or medkits. Some people like flashlights too, but this perk is just to satisfy my own desires.

Thanks for the feedback by the way. Always appreciate constructive criticism.

  • I would like to be apart of this conversation. I like DbD. I like the devs putting in effort. Nurse changes were needed to balance her a bit, but she is still powerful. It takes time to adjust to changes, so practice for a while before posting "You did a crap job devs." Piggy's only nerf was the end game. The RBTs are to slow the game down, so by the time the exit gates are powered, it's already looking bad for you. Do you want an extra advantage after closing the hatch? Do you want it fair or always in your favor? Devs are looking at "Fairness" and "Fun." Not Sentiment for OG killers or bias for killer or survivor. They have alot to deal with and work hard believe it or not. You guys do realize that they only get paid for cosmetics and dlc after the purchase of the game, right? Not many copies get sold now and they don't require a subscription fee to play. If they don't get that income, they can't continue working on the game. And something I still believe that they don't seem to believe themselves is DbD is THEIR game. They could nerf all killers into just M1 killers with no ability and make Killers just glorified skins like survivors are. It's within their power if that's what they think would balance their game. So I'm okay with what they do. Most of my complaints are bug fixes that they constantly address free of charge. Just enjoy the game, guys.

  • If anything, it should reveal the aura of the hatch to others while you are within a few meters of it. That's the only buff i can see happening.

Well, I like the idea, but that would mean base legion can hit multiple times, and with the way survivor mains are now... they'd veto that. (Look at the Nurse Nerf.)

I'd like to see legion as a killer who can strike survivors multiple times, that's what a frenzy is supposed to be. I would make so that every time you hit a survivor with DW, you get a smaller and smaller percentage of your bar back to keep frenzying. That way it rewards skillful legion players while providing survivors with counterplay. Since, if legion doesn't hit you 5 times in Frenzy, their time will have been wasted then. But it provides legion with two types of gameplay. Which is more than they have now. This could also combo with perks like STBFL really well. Just my opinion, though. : P

    We honor opinions for Legion.

  • "Nobody likes free stuff. Get that crap outta here. We will stick with paying for our cosmetics."

Are you sure we should use that quote, Mr. President? It sounds a bit biased, sir.

"Free is for the weak... On second thought, don't quote that. Let's go with something we know works. Rework complaints!"

    Yes, Sir!

  • Is... is this a love letter to the Killer Haters?

  • Everyone has these games every so often. I agree something should be done about it. I would at least give crows to people who don't touch a generator for so long.

No, it shouldn't be. I haven't seen Rotten Fields for a while, and even then, Ill DC from it.

Why DC just because you got a bad map? You may not like the map, but you can still have an enjoyable experience. It's your role as survivor or killer to overcome all obstacles you face.

So what will be done about killer with insta down capabilities? You mean to tell me insta heals were too much but leatherface with easy cool downs, is perfectly balanced. Did you even think of how this effects console players at the very least considering they aren't on the same level as PC?

Are you insulting me as a console player?

  • As a killer main, I approve of nerfing moris, but don't remove them outright. I need to see hag gut a survivor from time to time. An Idea just came up in my mind while typing to make Moris the End game screen. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Hello! Legion main here! I'm not 100% sure what you mean with your changes! Wouldn't the same be done if the add-ons simply worked on the first hit? I urge you to come look at my thread about Legion rework ideas and look at some of the good ideas there!

I just went through your simple Legion discussion and it sounds kinda complicated. Also, inflicting the status on the first hit doesn't seem very rewarding and it's a bit unfair to the survivors. With a second hit, it gives them a chance to at least juke Legion or waste Legion's time so he can't hit another survivor and inflict the status. i usually make these suggestions with the original power and balance in mind. This change only truly affects the addons and nothing else. I actually like Legion. They are my 2nd favorite killer, right under the Pig. I want nothing more than to get a nice buff to Legion, but I just don't want too much changed. I just want a reason to stab people more.

actually making it ultra rare means that you would see less of it because it would be more expensive in theory

Iridescent Heads for Huntress. Ultra Rare, problematic.

  • Okay. Let's discuss.

Hillbilly movement speed sounds good actually, but the recharge on the chainsaw seems a bit much for a hit or miss type of thing. I would propose a longer "fatigue" after a missed chainsaw and require a "cooldown" after hitting a survivor or pallet of 30 seconds. This keeps the ability to destroy pallets and apply pressure, but can keep the Hillbilly from snowballing so much. Instantly killing survivors is too powerful, but the fact you would move so slow makes it sound balanced, but you would forever be looped if you don't blindside someone. Speed Boots seems terrible to be an Ultra Rare. Do you want an instadown or a normal speed killer?

I don't understand a 3 second phase walk, unless you remove the activation time, but that creates a new issue. If i wanted to change spirit, which I don't really but prayer beads are powerful, I would make her: able to see blood, allow survivors to see a black mist of the spirit while phasing, but no phasing sound, have increased movement speed while phasing, change Prayer beads to disable the black mist, but add the phasing sound (Making her the same as The Spirit we know). The black mist will passive phase at an increased rate for longer duration to keep Spirit the best at mind gaming.

I want some Legion buffs. I have nothing concrete for him yet.

  • That wouldn't make much sense to lock your aim while puking, but if they implemented such a feature, they would have to buff how fast you got infected because survivors would always be able to avoid it after the initial hit. I don't think that solves anything in the end.

A 6 second wait to get your 2 blinks back is gonna be rough.

Shes already hard on console this is going to kill off Nurse for good over here.

I am on console. This merely excites me.

  • I play all Killers, all the time. Nurse is fun right now, but being overwhelming in games isn't always fun. I believe Nurse needs these changes so it's more fair for both sides.

  • with this change, she becomes less oppressing and more versatile. A nerf doesn't mean unplayable, but the style of play need to change. She can still phase through walls and I'm sure she will still be a top tier killer because of it. Her addons now make it possible to do many different builds with her making survivors have to adapt to the situation. I, for one, love the extra blink without phasing through walls. Just check her out tomorrow before spamming F.

I enjoy Legion... I still play them cause I like the playstyle... but playing any other Killer I feel like in an anime when the fighter takes off his weighted clothes or something. Legion is in a terrible spot and I keep seeing people say they just nerfed them to buff them later. How long has it been? When am I really gonna have fun again?

I play Legion often also. they were my second favorite before the change and they still are. I agree other killers just feel easier, but Legion's killer instinct is a great asset to have. But when the time comes when Legion one day receives a buff, we will rise again.

  • 90% of red ranks I know tend to play Nurse, Hillbilly and Spirit. Rarely swapping off to play something new unless they get bored. My friends have no variety ._. I rotate most killers aside from Nurse and Hillbilly because I play on Ps4 and I whiff a crapton with Nurse. Demo is a favorite of mine, but I guess that's just me

  • I miss old Legion as well, but there was little to no counter play to a good Legion back then and many of the addons made Legion terrifying. He needed so many changes to be more balanced, but they dropped what I originally liked about Legion which was having to stab people repeatedly to down them. He's not the worst killer after the change, but it's sad those aspects are gone for good now.

  • Blood is pretty hard to see in alot of maps, but when you play killer enough, you know how to mindlessly spot it. It's pretty weird being able to spot blood as well as I do now. Thanks Sloppy Butcher. You've taught me much.

(This is an advertisement for Sloppy Butcher. If while using Sloppy Butcher, you experience blood splatter, sounds of bones cracking, screams of agony, tennis elbow or other common Killer side effects, the Entity is pleased.)

  • Ghostface if you like being a sneaky boi. Legion if you like to stab people alot. In my opinion, Legion is one of the best killers to rake in points quick and sometimes it's just fun messing around and enjoying stabbing people repeatedly. Legion is still one of my favorites. Broken or not n_n

  • Increase the debuff for multiple survivors on a gen, allow 5% immediate regression for killer breaking the gen, or cause objectives to require parts to lengthen the repair progress. I'm a fan of regression myself.

  • @Xboned said:

That's absurd, Stephen King would never insert himself to a horror story.

This should be at the lore category

This is just speculation on a new survivor. This can't really be seen as acceptable lore

  • The Devs can take more liberty with original chapters and their designs are only limited by their imagination. We can literally get anything from original chapters.

  • @Milo said:

But add this also for Survivors because (unless its organised SWF that doesn't cares for points) it hurts your team.

Agreed. DCs in the middle of a match ruin the game and your offerings for either side.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I would prefer just better totem placemets for all maps.

Like ######### is doing totem in the middle of map covered by nothing, just standing there, where everyone can see it 60+ meters away.

Survivors can learn totem placements. This at least guarentees a bit more time using your totem.

  • I like the idea of Jason in DbD, but I will only speculate as such when Geno is announced for Smash. These are the only two things I wish for in gaming.

  • @Peanits said:

I'll let you speculate away, but just to clarify, we've never said that there won't be a new survivor with the next chapter.

You sly dog. Commenting that way makes us speculate more! Well played, sir.

  • I don't hate this. I doubt to see this in game, but I wish we could experiment with it. My wish is for them to make a feature similar to Overwatch's Workshop so we can mess around with things like this.

  • Piggy. Stealth is how I like to play and the Reverse Bear traps help slow the game down alot to mess around.

Legion is second even after the nerf, because it's not always about killing everyone. Having fun is essential and what better way than stabbing everyone repeatedly?

  • Your entitled to your own opinion, but if you want to hear my point of view...

Old Legion was slightly broken, but honestly needed a bit of a nerf because once a Legion set their eyes on someone, you couldn't stop them from getting them down unless they lose interest. The changes they made were drastic, but it did handle the problem. Saying Legion has no power is underrating their potential. With no prior set up, if Legion finds four people in one area, He can effectively injure them all faster than any other killer. With Killer Instinct active, it also means hiding won't do any good for anyone who hasn't been hit yet. I loved the original idea of Legion, hitting someone multiple times to down them, but the new Legion is how most everyone played them in the first place. Quickly injuring a few people, end Frenzy and down a survivor with a basic attack. Frenzy is a great power if you know how to use it. It may feel underwhelming, but Legion is kind of supposed to emulate what a real person is capable of thus being able to vault pallets like normal survivors.

Saying Legion has no power is undermining what they are capable of, but most importantly, the question you should ask is: Is Legion fun to play with? I think so, but to each their own.

The collision add on(whatever its called) has a line that basically says it overrules any other add on.

So you cant teleport using collision

I wanted to know if the phantasm would be invisible when triggered. I just imagined survivors running and wondering if they started lagging because they couldn't move.

  • I just checked. It doesn't work.

  • Although I like your enthusiasm to make this killer work, I did not think half of this through .-. Values are changed alot and they don't always have time to change and test everything. BHVR doesn't always get things right and God knows I hate what they've done to Legion, but they at least try. Also, the Clown is fun n_n but please, tell me how exactly you would make The Drown work. All changes you would make.

No, they don't have to adapt to ######### because Survivors have been looping 115% Killers for years now.

This is a 110% Killer that becomes a 115% Killer in a loop. If this was added into the game with your numbers right now it would be the worst Killer in the game by far.

Is this constructive criticism or is it trash talk? ._. I spent more time on the bio than the stats. I throw out concepts for fun. Do you try to ruin concepts for fun or am I missing something?

you mean Legion, Billy, Wraith and effectively Clown and Freddy?

Billy, Wraith, and Pig have slow downs before their attack. Clown and Freddy can slow survivors if you have some skill. And Legion has been nerfed to a terrible cooldown before you can even down someone. At least this isn't as simple as press the button. You get the speed boost yourself and survivors have to adapt to that coupled with your charge attack. It's not all numbers. There's mind games in this, too.

  • You might be right, but 115% base speed seem too much. I would rather buff Water Affinity to 10% haste minimum. Having a killer at 115% movement speed that can get a quick speed buff doesn't seem fair.

  • My original idea was 10% haste from Water Affinity, but I can't test it myself. I'd love to do play testing on this, but I haven't the power

  • I made this with balance in mind. I didn't want her insanely OP. Water Affinity was to be mostly for loops and sneaky survivors. I agree that the haste bonus of Water Affinity is low, but 120% can force a pallet fairly quickly and a survivor would have to judge the speed boost from Water Affinity after the first loop when you have your puddles down. Bloodlust 1 wouldn't even need to break a pallet in most of those situations.

  • Gasping Desperation lasts 5 seconds and can't be canceled. Charge time is 3 seconds at 95% movement speed. The cooldown is meant as a fatigue timer. You move 80% movement speed for 2 seconds and addons can lower the time. You will move at 115% movement speed during the attack. You can hit the same survivor, but the will have a speed boost from getting hurt. And you can attack multiple survivors during one instance of Gasping Desperation

Water Affinity grants 5% movement speed at base. Addons can increase it to 9.5% max with the best addons. And the notification for walking in the water would be similar to a loud noise notification, but would need to be more transparent. Also crouching will still activate this effect.

    Did I cover everything?
