Considering consistent survivor nerfs by removing windows and pallets, decreasing rate of survivor sided maps and on the other hand increased rate of bullshit indoor maps, bottlenecked maps and other maps full of dead zones, I dont think survivors have too much advantage.
Not to say about totally broken killer addons which they bring at about 40-50% of the matches which is more often than survivors with brand new parts, keys or instant heals.
I havent noticed more 4 man escapes than 4 kills than usual.
-
Im ok with nerfing boon.
Bring old DS back as compensation.
Im tired of people get camped and tunneled to death because their perk slots are taken by mediocre perks.
-
Nope. I would never touch that trash perks undless I have to do a stupid challenge or something.
We dont need another 2 useless perks among 50 other.
-
Well gg. Wasted about 10 games before I noticed that.
-
They dont alter the map chances based on characters mobility but there are clearly higher chances to get certain maps with certain killers than with others. At least when you start playing a certain killer.
You can argue with bias confirmation and coincidence while having a small sample size, but not after having 3000 hours in that game. It's not coincidence anymore but statistical significance.
-
Not really. There is clearly a correlation between certain killer and maps, so I highly doubt the distribution of map probablities is even.
For example when I play blight after a long break one of my first maps I usually get is Shelter Woods.
Maps only get an even distribution when you play a killer for a certain amount of matches.

A killer camping a person on hook isn't holding the game hostage. The person on the hook will die in 2 minutes and everyone else is able to finish gens and leave. Sure it sucks for the person on the hook, but there's nothing wrong it.
Borrowed Time gives the unhooked survivor 12 seconds of protection.
Only if you play swf.
Solo Qs usually dont have enough coordination to ignore the hook camper and do gens and to make an exchange during the last 20 seconds of each health state.
Therefore camping and tunneling is VERY effective against solo Q players.
FUN FACT: If people stay on gens and leave they are usually accused being gen rushers <3
-
I wasnt knocked down. I was normally running to the exit.

Im not sure about beeing chained. But I am 100% sure I broke some chains for the teammate before. Also it seemed to last longer than 1.5 seconds.

RPD becomes alot easier to navigate and run loops on the more you play and learn the tiles.
"the tiles"... If there are any. There is actually one decent tile on the first floor of the right wing. Rest of the map are just abstruse corridors where you might find a god pallet if you are lucky or you might find nothing except a death trap.
The only positive aspect of RCPD is it remains almost always the same with very little rng in there.

Or, maybe accept that there is a Map in the game which you dont like? I mean, you end up on it rarely enough, if you play on it and you dont like it, suck it up.
It is not like your day is ruined or that the Devs ate your pets, they just created a Map you dont like.
My indoor map rate is close to 50% at some days and I hate all of them. Some of them are beautiful (RCPD, Midwitch), most are killer sided if he runs ruin-undying, some are pretty survivor sided (The Game), but I still don't enjoy them regardless which side I play.
It's not an issue of one single map which you play once a week anymore.

I don't think Zombies are supposed to function like that. Did you make any loud noise? Sure, it attracts the killer. but it also attracts the zombies. They're supposed to go any towards the noise.
So it sounds like he just got unlucky with their A.I. breaking.
I was sitting on a gen at some distance where I could see (we played on blood lodge where you usally have a good view distance) one zombie walking in the area around the hook. So I waited a little bit for him to leave the area and did gens. After one zombie wasn't that close to hook anymore I went for the unhook, but there were still another zombie behind the rock literally 5 feet close to the hook who downed the rescued survivor.
There were no other survivors around for sure. I run bond and would have seen it.
-
Well survivors have to finish 5 gens, not 2 or three. And they also have to open the door, which is technically speaking another 1/4 gen.
Its quite obvious survivors can do more gens when they are all full health and there are no injured teammates to be healed or unhooked.

He isn't extremely strong. Oh my freaking god.
Are M1 Killers just strong now if they have any kind of mobility?
Of course. Nurse is an m1 killer. Spirit, blight, hag... All of them are consideres top tier killers.
-
This setup is just stupid. I had a 4gen on the same map once. Even with entire team alive it was not possible to do these gens with a clown with insta down add on and pop goes the weasel.
I mean you can still win such nonsense if the killer is bad and lets himself get baited to the other side of the map. But how are you supposed to win this against killers who actually use their brain while playing? Especially insta down killers?
-
Trapper is usually considered a low tier killer but some of his addons are really broken.
This "every-30-seconds-open-random-trap-add-on" is actually op because it basically allows him to permanently trap all safe loops on the map.
Other add-ons like "injuring the disarming survivor" or "put the freed survivor in the dying state" are dumb too.
-
I love the Haddonfield map as survivor and used to fear it as killer.
But somehow I 4 keyd all my last matches on Haddonfield with Bubba and Doctor, so I even love it as killer now.
My ruin undying stays there usually long enough to start a snowball.
-
The longest adept took me like 3 hours of playing and that was nurse. Her difficulty was to find the right tune between getting enough chase emblem points and to not get gen rushed without any slow down perks.
Other difficult adepts were Myers and Trickster which took me about 2 hours each.
All other adepts I achieved within the first 3 or 4 games.
-
Typical killer main tears.
I have no issues to let 2 survivors escape (and even safe pip) if they play nice and to try hard for a 4 k against sweaty teams.

Not saying you are wrong but that would be a very stupid reason.
All they have to do is announce they are doubling BP gains from now on, and halve the rate of rare and ultra rare items.
Then everyone will still bring commodious toolboxes or buffed yellow medkits every single game which is pretty strong.
Not saying that most good killers play with decent add-ons anyway, but BHVR tries to avoid that.
-
BHVR is scared to give us more BP, because everyone would probably run broken rare and ultra rare Items and Add-ons.
The solution is to split blood web for Items and Add-ons and implement some other perk unlocking mechanics.
-
Overrated: Dead Hard, Thanatophobia, NOED,
Underrated: Detective's, Small Game, Bond, Alert, We'll make it, Balanced Landing, Windows of Opportunity, Adrenaline (noone is using it anymore)
-
There is a good reason why good survivor teams always have 1 or 2 unbreakables in their bag. You usually don't get much use out of it, but when it comes to a slug fest you will be happy to have it.
The problem is most solo Qs drop Unbreakable for other perks which benefit them every match instead of one match out of 4 or so.
Good survivors can afford to "waste" a perk slot and run Unbreakable as a backup because they are decent in every other aspect of the game on don't rely on perks in normal gameplay much.
So the optimal solution is to "git gud" and just to run the most common small pp builds with DS, BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Adrenaline. This perks counter slugging, tunneling and camping pretty well.
But then most killers will cry how unfair and survivor sided this game ist :D
-
There are probably more red rank killers today than red rank survivors.
It took me like 5 hours of playing with Bubba only to get from rank 5 to rank 1 this month.
-
I had some twins who literally slugged all 4 survivors to death with 0 hooks. A simple method: Down two survivors and injure two others and camp the slugs with Victor and Charlotte perdiodically switching when someone is trying to pick them up or they try to crawl away. When first two persons bleed out same happened with the remaining two.
It was a very fun and interactive gameplay to crawl on the ground for 4 minutes!!!
Hooking survivors with Victor hidden nearby is also a really fun play! Camping hooks by immdiately switching back to Victor when someone is in the range of killer instinct to attack the rescuing survivors is soo much fun!!!
-
Also nice proof of tunneling the person with the key on your screenshot. I'm pretty sure he had a lot of fun too!

with 2k hours you cant loop wraith ? good red rank solo can give 0 kills to red rank wraith. this already happens many times on my games, lol u compare wraith with spirit and wraith win ? is that 2k hours even real ? someone with 2k hours would agree that spirit is far more stronger than that bing bong boy
Spirit is only stronger when she has reached good skill ceiling (or has working headphones). There are a lot of garbage Spirits out there. Best example: I saw a rank 1 spirit DCing yesterday after 3 gens were finished with 0 downs. She just didn't manage to injure/down people quickly to get use of her pop goes the weasel and rage quit. On the lower skill level Wraith is stronger by far.
I can't understand how this simple issue can't be seen by people with some experience in this game. It was Freddy, not Spirit or Nurse who had the highest kill rate. Not because he was a better killer, but just because of the fact he was easy to play with a sub-zero skill ceiling.
You can only loop wraith on shack and maybe 2-3 other safe loop locations on the map. Other than that he will get free hits constantly almost everywhere.
I am not at 2000 hours but 2600 hours right now and I have mained Wraith (the old one) and Spirit in the past so I have valid understanding of both killers. Even with old Wraith I was able to 4 k most of my matches and only struggled with really good red rank teams.

Crutch? playing survivor is a crutch of its own, playing any of those 3 killers takes more skill than survivor ever will, except when playing against nurse, which is an outlier
As a former spirit main: It does require some skills to play hear? Really? You need rather decent headphones than skills...

The vast majority of people don't like Hag, Spirit or Twins. There must be some reason for it.

Not really. I see far more spirits with apparently bad headphones who really struggle to hit and to down survivors while phasing and thus ending with 1 or 0 kills only.
On the other side I never see a wraith with 0 kills. Even good red rank solo Qs are often nailed to an indecisive draw / 2 k as the best result.
Most wraith 3 or 4 k against average players.
-
A lot of good hags I play against use macros and teleport literally instantly on top of you after triggering their traps. In my opinion there should be a delay to make such abuse impossible. 1 second would be too much, but maybe 0.5 or even 0.3 seconds which is more of a normal human reaction.
Other than that I don't have any issues with Hag. Lisa is absolutely unfun to play against and I hate her, but her traps have some counterplay if you crouch and use flashlights.
Basement is usually a death sentence, of course. But smart survivors should be aware of basement's location and the killer they face. If you have some experience in this game you just know you don't wanna get down close to a basement against a Bubba, Hag or even trapper with 10 traps around the shack above the basement.
-
Rank 1 and most killers after 4 hours of playing today in decreasing order were: Wraith, Spirit, surprisingly Ghostface,

Ah another crying about wraith thread.
As for lis extra lunge range at weak pallets: Just throw the dang pallet.
Its less his lunge and more of people refusing to prethrow them.
Also his lunge is there to make his stealth work as a chase mechanic as he can't use stealth in chase without it as uncloaking would make him lose too much time(and his uncloaking speed add-ons are worthless once you see the actual numbers).
You cant predrop every pallet, because most pallets are unsafe and you have to stun the killer in order to get to another tile.
Wraith just outplays you on every unsafe pallet because his uncloak speed boost is boosted. Even a lot of safe pallets are unsafe against wraith.

Rank 17 playing worst placed killer in killer tier since long time who needs time to place traps on loops... Try this with another killer not trapper, he losses gens anyway even if u did not have all of these that's how trapper works after all just like Myers he loses gens to get his power to make it best out of it later same goes for trapper...
This.
And this trapper still got 1 k due to NOED. So even when gen rushed killers can do a lot to achieve kills during the endgame.

This is definitely interesting to see. Do you think reworking skill checks for higher ranks would help?
The way it is now skill check difficulty is exactly the same at rank 20 than rank 1. I don't even have crazy hrs on the game and I can get great skill checks with ease. Survivors messing up on gens a little would slow the game down a bit while also helping killers locate people.
Ultimately, I think good swf groups will still win but it would make games more interesting and more bps.
Not really. You would just punish bad survivors with slow pcs / bad internet connection.
-
DBD also have a progressive grind system which is really dumb.
An example: 2 years ago there were like 30 survivors and killers in the game. So with the release of each new character you had to level up only 30 characters in order to give them additional perks from the new DLC. Today we have 47 characters in the game, so with the release of the Resident Evil Chapter you will have to grind on 47 different characters already to get them all full perk.
This stupid grind system is also the reason why I dont recommend the game to anybody.
You just can't create viable builds to be competitive and to have fun without a good amount of meta perks. Dont wanna get tunneled? Need DS from Laurie. Want have some blood points? Need Barbecue from leatherface. Searching for a good supplement for a locker build? You need Nancy's innter strength.
Its not even about the cost. You can literally buy all DLC for 40-60 USD / Euro in retail or steam sale. Most Characters are even playable without real money, because you can unlock them for shards. But the amount of time you have to spend to unlock all teachable perks on all characters you wish is just insane.
Most people want to enjoy the game in the moment they play it, not 1000 hours later.

Ironic how the very streamers you mentioned posted a video on how easy it is to loop a killer for 4 minutes...
Only if the killer makes a lot of mistaker or it's cowshed 1 vs 1 where you are allowed to waste every pallet.
But even there most survivors lasted not longer than 1-2 minutes against Otzdarva.

Most of us have 3 or 4K most matches. 4 escapes so rare for me but that is not point. Point is playing survivor is easy and chill. But killer games are sweaty. Kill rates are not confirm anything, killers showing more effort. And that is because of gen times.
The second part of your statement absolutely contradicts the first one.
So you basically admit that you win most of your matches but still complain about gen speed? How do you want the game to be balanced? Chilled 4 k every single match? Not gonna happen.
-
@Tsulan said:

Which ones are very strong?
- the one that regresses the gen at half the speed a single survivor would take to repair?
- the one that regresses 20 seconds of gen progress (if a single survivor repairs the gen, 11 seconds if its 2 survivors)?
- the one that blocks the gens that are furthes away from the killer and sometimes prevents survivors from 3 genning themselves?
- the one that increases the gen repair time the more survivors are injured, changing the repair time from 80 seconds to 96 seconds, when a single survivor repairs it?
First 3. Last one is garbage.
I wonder how I even manage to 3 or 4 k 90% of my matches. Regarding the statements here it must be impossible to play killer nowadays. Poor Otzdarva, TrueTalent, Dowsey, Hexy, Umbra, OhTofu, Zubat, Monto...

The so called gen slowdown perks are all trash. Not a single one is great, but killers use them, because they desperately want to slowdown gens.
Gen slowdown perks are very strong. Almost every good killer use some of them depending on their builds.
Gradually I can see the problem: People here complain about gen speed but don't actually use slow down perks but rather prefer meme builds or trash perks like thanatophobia or dying light.

3k, 2k , 4k NONE OF THAT MATTERS!!!!
Guys for the love of god. That score doesn't reflect anything other than "people died" They could have died because they killed themselves on the hook, they could have died because it was their last hook, they could have died because of a bear trap, they could have died trying to be greedy and find the hatch at end game but time ran out.
None of that has anything to do with the speed of the game. Trapper had an opportunity for 2 or 3 chases that ENTIRE MATCH.....THERE IS NO INTERACTION LIKE THAT.
A MATCH THAT IS OVER IN 2 MINUTES BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE THE KILLER OR DO ANY OTHER OBJECTIVES IS NOT A MATCH!!!!
I play pig, all day long...and I don't play any other killers in this game without thano+dying light because you can't afford to NOT have them in your kit. If you don't have them, gens will fly left and right before you get a chance to really do anything. And its especially bad for killers who have set up time, and Tier charges, like Myers, and Trapper, and now Nemesis.
GEN TIMES HAVE BEEN BUSTED AND ABUSED FOR OVER 2 YEARS! THATS WHY NOBODY BOTHERS PLAYING ANY OTHER KILLERS! THERE IS NO VIABLE TIME IN GAME TO MAKE THE FULL KILLER ROSTER VIABLE OR BUILD ANYTHING DIVERSE WHEN MATCHES CAN BE DROPPED IN 3-4 MINUTES!
Strange. If I dont want to get gen rushed I put on perks like ruin, corrupt, undying or pop. Not thana or dying light.
Maybe thats the reason why you complain about genspeed. Because the perks I named work literally on every killer and are also the perks I always care about playing survivor.
Thana and Dying light are mediocre perks and dont bother me at all.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
What defenders of gen rush don't understand is that we're more mad at the fact that this gen speed is even possible. What if it is a rare occurrence? (it isn't) The fact that it's even possible to get all gens done in less than 5 minutes WITH the killer playing their best is what's wrong with this game.
With the same logic BHVR should delete all killers with snowball potential: Infectious Nurse, Oni, Billy, Bubba, Myers because they are able to win a game in literally one minute.

I know enough to get me around. 75% would mean all games end in a 3k. Right now, a majority is a mixture of 2k's and 3k's with the majority being 3k's over all. If they're using the same statistics for Rank 20 killers and survivor's added in, a rank 15-20 killer will mostly 3k-4k, distorting the actual numbers. If we take that out, I bet statistics would say the average is closer to a majority of 2k's per match at higher ranks. That's if you lump all killers together.
BS. Google variance.
Average kill rate and average kill rate balancing has nothing to do with actual kill rate in each game. They still might be a great dispersion with a lot of 4 k and 0 k.

The game is more balanced than it has been since its inception in the genre. Right now, 3k's are usually by the best killers, not an average. If they keep trying to add "balance" so to get a 3k means you have to bust your ass and a 4k being a myth, that is a problem.
You have no idea how statistics works.

Like it's average Kill Rate you are talking about which factors everyone. Some individuals likely have lower escape rates while others likely have higher escape rates.
Same is valid for killers when they achieve only 1 or 0 kills.

Because there are 4 of you. If 3 people get smashed because they aren't able to get away or stall a killer for time with the amount of pallets on the map with time on their side, why should the killer be punished for doing his/her job? If the killer is chasing and camping people, they usually lose with a 1k, maybe 2k for their efforts due to NOED.
A good killer who is punished because survivor's aren't staying on gens or can't escape the killer with pallets, that's on them. Why should a killer play just to get a 2k no matter how well they do? Why would I want to play a game where no matter how good I got, no matter how hard I played, I have a handicap to make 2 people feel good about themselves when its a 4 vs 1? If 2ks become the norm, I BET you'll stop seeing killers.
Dude, you know what average means? You can still 4 k even when a game is balanced around 25% or 1 k. There is a statistical term called variance.
You can see it the other way? Why should a good team be punished by the game being balanced to the killer side on average with even bad killers receiving 2 k vs a very experienced survivor group?
-
@AVoiceOfReason said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2239626#Comment_2239626
If I bust my ass for a 2k every match, I would never play killer again. 68% still isn't 75%, which would be an average of 3k's every game. So there is some killers who can get 3k's per match more than 2k's but some can only get 2k's. If its like that, that's balanced. A killers' skill matters. Trying to make it so no matter what a killer does, he/she can only get a 2k wouldn't be worth playing killer then.
Why should a survivor play that game if he dies in 3 out of 4 matches?

Ideally game should be balanced around 50% kill rate or 2 k per match. But then most killers will cry and quit playing making queue times horrible. In my opionion balancing the game around 60% instead of 50% was an intentional concession of BHVR to the killer side.
