Small Game already received a rework in the PTB. It now only detects totems, but a token is gained each time one is cleansed (regardless of who cleanses it).
What is changed about it?

...I'm sorry..You can't be serious can you...? Tell me you're not.
- Theres already a perk like that it's called Detectives Hunch
- See the freaking auras...? Do you know how OP and broken and unfair that is...? No hunting (which you can find it fast enough already). Just welp..There it is !!
Never in my life of playing this game for 4 years have I seen anyone using Detective's hunch. Also, triggered much? Take a chill pill dude.

I’m hoping for Nemesis, I think his Rocket Launcher could work as his power. Huge AOE only injures but can hit multiple survivors and has a long cooldown to balance it out.
Maybe give him a secondary power that is a dash like Oni’s but it is strictly for mobility and you can not lunge during it, the cooldown when getting out of the dash needs to be a couple of seconds so it doesn’t make catching up to survivors and injuring them too easy.
If he had a slow AOE rocket launcher as his main weapon, he would be the easiest to counter as a survivor. All they have to do is just not stay in a lump and his power is absolutely useless :D

Anyone saying Freddy is balanced forgot that Freddy can:
- Deny Borrowed Time Perk in dream world (Which is utter BS!)
- Send people into dream world with M1
- Force people into dream world by mere time
- The more survivors wake each other from the dream world state, the longer the process takes
- Easily deny loops with blood puddles
- Can use blood puddles as audio traps to locate survivors
- have zero directional terror radius in dream world
- can teleport to generators (if using Tinker + Pop or Ruin, good luck ever finishing a gen)
Freddy is that one problem child in the family blessed with all the gifts for sheer pity of what he once was.
I have never in my life lost a single game with Freddy when using my patented Tinker + Ruin + Undying build. I can simply just keep infinite gen pressure on and force survivors to waste tremendous amount of gen progression, and even when they try to split, I can still manage to win the game without breaking a sweat. It's not even a challenge. This Killer has literally everything a Killer can have.
-
They changed the Mori and now the hook struggle phase so I guess anything is possible...

Cool, I totally missed this. But now I just want them to fix the struggle while being carried ^^

Far too many here have been replying with comments like I am somehow an anti-slug person. To correct you here, no, I see nothing wrong in Killers slugging survivors, not when it is part of their strategy to win the match. But when the Killer has already won the match and there is no game to be played anymore, everyone is downed with no chance of getting up anymore or you are the only one left and downed with no chance of escape anymore, then clearly that is the point where the Killer has won and slugging further servers no other purpose than keeping you hostage in the game. This is what I try to combat here, not the actual slug strategy.
And yes, I am aware that allowing survivors to suicide while downed would result in many problems like taking away the killer's chance to benefit from BBQ and other perks, or that survivors could just suicide and give the last survivor the hatch. These are really good points you have raised, and I agree, this would suck and not be fair towards the Killer. But just like the Hook suicide is not fair to the survivor team either and pretty much kills the entire game not just for the survivors but for the Killer as well, what else is there to say... This is just another form of that same chance of giving the player an option to get out of an abused game.
And lastly, for more people out there thinking that simply putting the game in the background in order to watch YouTube or something and being AFK while the Killer keeps you hostage in the game is a viable option that people should be doing instead of tackling the problem itself, is shocking to me. To think that there are people out there who think that by AFKing in a video game is a great solution to a problem where other players abuse their power to keep you in a match. You really do not see any problem with your logic, seriously?
-
@Nos37 said:
I suggested letting survivors hold shift to crawl faster, but bleed out faster in the process. (Tenacity would let you crawl fast without the bleedout penalty, but if you hold shift while not crawling, you can still choose to bleed out faster.)
Many players responded with "my killer pressure, tho" and "just go AFK for 4 mins."
I went on a slugging spree after that. Any player who messaged me to complain, I directed them to my post where I had suggested it.
This is actually a pretty good solution. Yeah, if there is no chance of giving us suicide while downed feature, then give us a faster bleeding option.
-
@burt0r said:
It would give survivor the same power to deny the killer benefits of hook based perks by dc but without any penalty.
As the last survivor no problem but first down suicides are still way to common to make it even easier to deny the killer out of spite.
And to the argument of water time, i as a killer have wait nearly every lobby for the survivor since at least one doesn't ready up and yes o know they COULD change their load out but why doing that now and not during the 10+ wait time. (Any yes maybe they wanted to switch survivor skin in accordance to other solos but it still waste my time as a killer everytime and most survivor don't even do that). Same with egc, why do I have to escort TBagging survivor out of the gate everytime? 1 in 10 games they leave after spamming fast vaults to get my attention and get bored after 1 instead of 2 minutes. My only choices there is either give them their chance for humiliation (unrelated if it gets to me or not, fyi I don't care but won't give the chance) or wait. And survivor that hypothetically want to give a last hit should know to get the hint after 30 seconds with no terror radius and just leave when all are healthy.
I get your frustration on this, I too hate it when survivors stay at the gate to T-bag and show their "dominance" and "superiority". But that is a little bit different to this conversation, a good topic for another time perhaps. We should focus on the downed feature here.
-
@Orion said:
That's not taking the game hostage because it will end after 4 minutes. Just go make yourself a sandwich, watch a YT video, whatever. The killer will be taunting someone who's essentially AFK and you get to have some fun.
That is exactly my point why we need suicide while downed feature implemented. Your solution is not a real solution. Not everyone wants to go "make a sandwich" or "watch YouTube" - when I am gaming, I want to game, not do something else because someone is abusing the game.
-
Yeah, it is so unfair when survivors use teamwork to save each other! They should not be allowed to do that!
-
I play both killer and survivor in rank 1 and I can tell you, there is nothing wrong with DH. You either swing early with no regard for taking the existence of DH into consideration, or you are mad for not getting them downed as early as you personally see fit for yourself.
DH is a vital perk for survivors to be able to maneuver and make counter plays against the killer in situations where every other perk fails. Changing DH would kill much of the strategy currently available in the game. I know the perk is annoying to deal with as a killer but I ain't going to be upset about it and try to take it away from others, rather, I adapt and learn to counterplay DH. and yes, there is a counterplay even if you are not willing to admit it.

Huntress has 1-hit-1-damage axes with perfect aim + giant hitboxes that hit through corners even. Trickster... "Look at me Mom, I've never thrown anything in my entire life! Weeeeeeeh!!"
Seriously, what the actual heck BHVR. Did you even consider Huntress exists in the game and can do literally everything better compared to Trickster?
As for the main event, it takes so long to actually start that by the time I get to throw my blades like a minigun fire, the survivors are long gone.
-
Having played Trickster for a while now, I can safely say that this Killer is by far the weakest killer in the entire game. He is slow, he throws slow, he walks slowly while aiming blades, he prepares his blades for a throw slow, he activates his main event EXTREEEEEEEEMLY slow. It is like the devs forgot this game has corners in it. Anyone with a brain can just run around a corner and completely destroy Trickster's ability to use his blades.
His blades are only good for maps where there are wide open fields without tall grass, and even in those, his aim is absolutely butchered to a point that any decent survivor can dodge them long enough to reach a safe corner and from there on the decaying meter quickly makes all the work you did with the blades completely useless.

Yeah sorry for the great walls of text, but I just like to go on rants with things I just simply don't like. I've basically just reached the limit with this game, and feel like I don't serve a purpose of playing the game anymore. Also yeah they could put the PTB on consoles, but from what they say Sony and Microsoft will take quite a while to get back to them.
Going on a rant is one thing, knowing to use Enter key to create breathing space for the text is another...
-
It's all fun and games until someone gets camped...
-
If you want to know what's really annoying, try customizing Oni and not get annoyed by his constant frenzy scream.
-
I would love to have a Dead Space chapter, especially if we get Ishimura level to play in. Isaac Clark as the survivor with different spacesuit outfits from the game, as well as Ubermorph as the Killer. Normal Necromorph would be fine too.
-
The matchmaking broke the day BHVR began spouting nonsense that rank is not a measure of skill. Why is it that red rank players know exactly how to play the game while purple ranks have a general idea and perform decently, while everyone beyond that are still beginners learning much of the game... Hmmm, yeah, no, rank totally does not indicate player skill level, you are right BHVR.
-
I have said this once and I say it again. The easiest way to punish Killers for camping hooks is to set an invisible timer that makes the hook survivor timer pause any time a killer spends more than X amount of time near the hook. Once the pause timer activates, it will remain active for X amount of time even if the killer steps out of the hook radius. Pretty much a free "Camaraderie". Also, if you want to make it even more punishing, grant the survivor a free Borrowed time and/or Adrenaline/sprint burst after X amount of time if the Killer still remains near the hook. Want even more punishment? Heck, give the survivor who goes for the unhook invincibility, meaning he can not be interrupted when unhooking.
-
4 toolboxes + brand new parts and a dedicated team of highly skilled players can end any match without a single entity sacrifice without breaking a sweat. That's messed up. These people not only bring toolboxes to speed up gen repair but also every possible gen speed perk. Then they just move in 2 and 2 squads, maximizing their potential, and pop the last 2 gens with the brand new parts. It feels almost like cheating, it's not even a real match because it is over before it even began.

Would be cool to have the lobby animations of the survivors as idle animations instead of having that stiff posture.

I really like your idea.

Honestly when i heard he was going to be called Trickster i was looking forward to all kinds of tricks. What if when you opeened the exit gate there was a 50 percent chance you would open the other gate? The one you weren't at? Or the Trickster could hack the gate and close it? Random gen explodes with a cooldown of 180 seconds?
Exactly, that's what I was thinking about when I heard the name "Trickster" - A Killer that actually has tricks up his sleeve. Maybe a shapeshifter who can take the form of a survivor and pretend to be a friend until you get close enough and notice he is the killer and that's when he jumps you. How interesting it would be seeing a survivor fixing gen but it's just the Killer in disguise waiting for his prey to join him... I would love to see a trickster like that in DBD.

He hums to himself when he's about to hook someone. Lore wise he recorded the death screams of his victims as he tortured them to make a new album. That's not creepy? You're walking down a dark alley and you see someone walk towards you, blood spattered across his face, carrying a large bladed baseball bat. His face is a cocky grin, almost a post-coital look as he reaches into his coat and pulls out a throwing knife, his grin widening. That wouldn't creep you out?
Not even the slightest, because I know I have a fair chance of beating him. Just because someone has a sharp-edged weapon does not make him creepy, it makes him dangerous, but a danger that can be beaten in mere hand-to-hand combat. But imagine if Freddy or Myers was after you, you would not even think about trying to fight them, you would most likely run. With Trickster, yes, I would actually stay and fight, and that's a problem... He is the first killer in DBD I would definitely try to fight physically because he does not look nor sound scary. He is your average everyday life Joe who has gone a little crazy in the head.
You could argue that Legion is the same, but because Legion wears a mask hiding his identity, I lose all sight of what I am truly facing, and that is scary to me. I could try to fight him and probably win, but because I don't know what he looks like, I rather take no chances. Face tells a lot about a person and Trickster looks nothing more than just a pretty boy asking for a good beating.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/232245/why-i-think-trickster-is-not-right-for-dbd
"Trickster is the very first Killer in DBD that looks and feels like a non-supernatural mere mortal human Killer. Even though we already got plenty of those like Pig, Leatherface, Twins, DeathSlinger, Ghostface, Legion, etc. The difference here is that all these killers either cover their face or are disfigured in some other way"
So if he had a hoodie or wore a dead pig on his face or a Halloween costume he'd be ok?
I see a lot of these types of arguments, and it makes me wonder how limited your experience with horror movies is. Not just the big budget summer slashers, but the giant variety of horror. The trope of a "Charming Psychopath" has existed in horror since chocolate syrup was being used as fake blood. From Strangers on a train, to Man Bites Dog, to Nightcrawler, the list goes on. Want more disturbing imagery? Try Audition, one of the best horror movie villains there are, look wise? She's a 20 something year old pretty young woman.
If he wore a hoodie or something to cover his face, then yes, he would pretty much transform into a mysterious or creepy killer, rightfully fitting next to all the already existing killers. He would pretty much be closest to Legion, but still a mysterious Killer. You show the face of the killer and it's just a human face, that's not menacing at all.
I am not ignorant of the fact that there are human Killers in horror movies, I watch a lot of horror movies with humans as the main killer (even though I do love me some of that supernatural stuff like Grudge and Ring). My point is that none of the killers before Trickster has been as human as he is and that bothers me because I see DBD as a game where the killers are either terrifying, mysterious, strong, frightening, creepy, etc - you know, something to do with horror. Trickster possesses none of these elements and because of it, he is a quite boring killer in my eyes. If you find ordinary human killers scary, that's alright, I personally don't.
-
I like the base idea but the 3-second aura reveal for the killer every X amount of time feels unnecessary. Both are already benefiting equally from the perk by seeing each other whenever the killer would see the survivor. Seeing as this is a survivor perk, why would the survivor be punished for using the perk by having his/her aura revealed to the killer every once in a while, it makes no sense to me.
-
I am not mad that there are cheaters in DBD, every game has them, I am mad that BHVR does not do much about them. The current report system is tedious, time-consuming, and completely useless, not to mention deceiving new players not familiar with how the report system really works. Nowhere does it say in-game that you need to fill out a form outside the game on a website and submit it to BHVR for review, along with video evidence of your own captured gameplay footage. If you just report the cheater in-game it does absolutely nothing.
-
The most boring part about DBD is not hanging on the hook tapping spacebar, it is fixing gens. I already use gen repair speed perks constantly just so that I would not have to die out of boredom when playing matches where the killer pays the least attention to me. Like seriously, I use No Mither just to run Resilence activated 24/7 so I can repair gens faster when alone, that's how much I hate fixing gens.
-
I have had to go against teams that all bring "Brand new part" and "prove thyself." - Needless to say, this is absolutely broken, and the fact that the game even allows something like this just goes to show there is absolutely nothing wrong with the killer Gen slow-down perks. They are a crucial element to have even the slightest chance at winning as a killer against a decent team.

The hit boxes are still pretty big. And even tho the devs deny it, it seem to me that the killers are... Faster?? They catch up to you much quicker, even if you've started running before they're anywhere near you.
Well, that's not so black and white as you describe it. Can you describe what you mean more specifically? There are many elements in the game that manipulate killer movement speed. You can not always be sure if it is a perk, someone cheating using speed hack, or something else.
-
I did not expect so many different opinions, this is actually pretty interesting to read.
-
I thought something was strange when I have been getting downed by killers far more often than usual in situations where I usually get away with window leap or six-sag dodge...

@Mandy said:
I must admit I would like this feature, I hate having to try to find the perk I want to use...would be good if I could just start typing the name in the search bar and it would pop up, but I do understand that this is probably a more "nice to have" feature rather than a necessary one. Would still be good tho.
For those who have played DBD for years, believe me, it is a necessity at this point xD

Never really had a problem finding perks because it's alphabetical, so if I know the name of the perk I can track it down quickly by switching pages, I'd expect typing to not be much quicker.
Wouldn't hurt though I guess.
I am not good with alphabetical orders in something like DBD. The pages are not like an excel sheet with a clear simple view. There are perks wit unusual starting like "A Nurse's calling" instead of "Nurse's calling" <- guess which one I am thinking about when searching for it...

So you could make preset perk builds and quickly switch them in, because that sounds good.
Also, it won’t be “useful” but what about a randomiser?
Randomiser would be a fun way to discover new builds that could even become Meta, lol. I am not against it :D
-
@MottledElm said:
I don't think this is the priority right now
And also, the perks are in alfabethical order so it shouldn't be a problem
Why do you think it should be their priority one in order for it to be possible? Programming a simple search bar is something any decent programmer can do in few minutes. This would not eat up precious time nor resources from the BHVR.
-
@Irisora said:
More than that a loadout preset should be incorporated. It would be a nice qol change, i hope they add it some day.
Actually, this is a lot better than the search bar, why did I not come up with this myself, haha. Anyway, either way, I am satisfied.
Edit: The only thing about loadout preset is that if you need to change something about your preset loadout, well, you are back to square with the problem I have just pointed out, you would still need to find it by flipping through pages...
I say, implement both of them!
-
I have said it before and I say it again, having skill check on DS makes just as much sense as having to tap Spacebar to struggle on the hook...
-
Legion, simply because healing against him is absolutely a huge waste of time. The second he sees you, he will not only injure you but he will injure your whole team. The best strategy to go against Legion is to scatter and repair gens alone far away from each other but the truth is nobody follows this tactic, nobody knows how to follow this tactic even if they are aware of it, and there are just far too many situations where Legion will still be able to wound the entire team within seconds.
In addition to this, all Legion players run Sloppy Butcher and nurse's calling so it only adds more reason not to heal. Bad players waste so much time on healing, only to get injured moments after fully healed. It is so annoying.

A lot of people here are quite supportive of BHVR's way of handling the skins. I do believe many of you absolutely misunderstood my point and pointed out things like Shrine perks and unlicensed killers when the whole point was within the subject of skins and nothing else. I find it disappointing to see that people are so willing to pay for something that many other games provide a chance to unlock by actually playing the game, and not only this, willing to pay way more than the skins are worth. Buy 5 default priced skins and that is already 50€ for you, nobody sees a problem in this, really?
Based on what you have said, it is clear to me that you find nothing wrong with the skins, so let us continue to pay the ridiculous price they ask from us and only buy skins using shards that are designed with the left hand during lunch hours. (Well obviously I am exaggerating here a bit but you know what I mean...)

If you have not been following how the skins are being released, most of the nice cosmetics are behind a paywall that can not be bought using shards. Just now, for example, the Death Slinger received an awesome-looking Stampede skin (literally the only good-looking skin on him), and what a surprise, it is not purchasable using shards.

IMO, an individual Trap would have to stall a Survivor for at least 3 Jigsaw Boxes for it to have been a good Trap. 2 Boxes is mediocre but serviceable, and 1 Box is awful. The other problem is that a Survivor wearing an inactive Trap does not really have enough incentive to stop doing gens until the Trap activates. If they really want to play it safe, they can simply check one or two boxes first before doing gens; that way when the Trap timer starts, they've already cleared some of the boxes. Against a good Survivor, the RBT simply does not light enough of a fire under them.
You fail to realize that while your description is true and does happen sometimes, the killer is in control of the situation in most cases. Once you have placed a trap on someone and see the trap activate, patrolling boxes is a very effective way to deny a survivor a chance to disarm the trap and waste even more precious time, bringing them closer to death without Killer having to hook the survivor 3 times. This is something many Pig players forget. They can actually force a survivor out of the game early by bullying them out of time with the trap. Again, something very powerful already that simply Pig Killers does not take advantage of and simply write the killer as a weak one despite not using its full potential.
-
The traps are quite effective already. They make survivors waste time going over boxes, no matter if they get it right from 1-2 tries. What I find stupid enough about the Pig's design is the number of traps she can have for the entire match. I see no reason to limit her capacity of traps, seeing as everyone else is rocking with full load for the entire match. What makes her traps so OP that if she manages to down someone, she can just put another trap on them. After all, for as long as a generator has not been completed, they are free to do whatever they want. Limiting Pig's traps to 4 feels like just punishing the Killer for nothing.

Honest question here.
Would you still be scared with that scenario in Dead Space after playing it for thousands of hours?
No, probably not, but I wasn't scared of the Silent Hill chapter even for 1 second, so it would be a start...
