I get called baby killer and other names when I play dirty, but also when I don't, so it really doesn't matter how I play, the end result is the same.
-
This will increase my playtime over to what I usually play dbd, which is a lot. Thanks a lot? ^^

Can I hear from some survivors and not the bored killer mains with no life who stalk this forum? Thanks in advance.
If you think that Killers need to be slowed, it only means you don't know how to run away from killers. It would really help your argument if you told what your rank in the game is, so people would be more capable to point out where the real problem lies. You can tell a lot about a player based on their rank in this game. I would assume you are somewhere in rank 10-20, that's where these type of complaints often originate.
-
Had you just took the time to go on YouTube to watch some pro killer plays, you would have understood that your argument is invalid and actually learned how to be a better killer so you too can start catching survivors and winning games.
-
I don't like to give them the satisfaction. All people do is wait at the exit gates till the killer arrives, just to T-bag or wait till the last second before you hit them to run out, so what's the point. I rather just go break some pallets, find hatch, and just waste their time instead knowing they expect me to check the exit gate but I never do.

To everyone who says they want to see the video, i unfortunately did not record the video as I am not a youtuber who plays this game to upload them online, but I did report the player. I know his name, but as the forum rules says not to tell names of cheaters etc, I must follow the rules and remain silent. I shall not utter the name of the one whose name is not to be mentioned.
But going forward, I will start to record my gameplay, perhaps I will get more of his kind. To tell you the truth, I have seen a lot of f*ked up s*it in this game during my years of playing. However, I am quite happy to say that dbd is not infested with cheaters unlike many competive online first person games out there.

So, you're uncomfortable with playing as a Survivor when your game lags? Well then... Try playing Killer. You won't stand a chance at all.
My point is that your problem is with the lag, not with the game. Get rid of your lag or just accept the consequences.
Not quite. While I do present the lag/framedrop, whatever you want to call it, as one of my argument points, I actually do have other reasons to change ds. We have discussed here for long now and people have come forth with amazing suggestions that could actually balance ds in a way that makes it anti-tunneling perk not abusable by pro players and killer bulliers. In the light of these suggestions, I do firmly believe that the game would benefit greatly from changing the ds perk based on the suggestions here.

I can see your point that other factors besides skill can affect the DS but really the same can be said for everything else in the game. Like, with the disconnect penalties, sometimes you may get DCed by the game or have an internet problem but that still doesn't mean the penalties aren't necessary. I feel the same about the skillchecks. The skillchecks are necessary to force players to learn how to hit them, especially since now ruin is nonexistent and there are few other things in the game that force you to actually learn with skill checks rather than just hold M1 to win. For how much DS can do to save your skin and give you a second chance it's a balancing measure to make sure that it's not a total get out of jail free card. Even with this being said the skill checks are still relatively easy to hit. Also lag spike does not affect skillchecks as they are clientside, lag will never be the reason you miss one.
I wouldn't agree on the lag part. When a game lags, I miss my timing, as that is something one can not count for to happen. It's iregular.

@Sunbreaker7 "I don't see a reason why one should sacrifice a perk slot for an ability that may never present an opportunity to be used during a match"
You mean like every hex perk in the game that killers have to use and might have instantly broken 20 seconds into the game and is fully countered by a map or several other perks that can find totems?
Why don't we also make NOED, Devour Hope, Lullaby not need totems, that way it can be guaranteed to get used every game?
Don't you just love it when a DS user gets off the hook and sits there and does a gen right in your face because they know you can't do ######### about it unless you want to waste your time on them? And then jumps in a locker when you decide to stop them from working on that gen because they know that if you open the locker they can DS you, and if you sit there and wait out their DS at the locker, that they successfully wasted 60 seconds of your time either way? And even if you did successfully get them off the gen and down them, then they call you a tunneler.
If you get off a hook and immediately run to the closest gen or hex totem, you don't get to complain about getting tunneled. You clearly didn't respect the killers power and thought that they should just let you work on objectives for free just because you recently got off the hook? If you were so worried about dying twice in a row, then gtfo and go heal somewhere.
I get that some killers will be dicks and purposefully track you down and kill you over and over to get a fast kill. But that doesn't mean you have carte blanche after getting off the hook and can sit there and teabag/flashlight me because you have DS in your pocket.
How about we first make DS no longer work if you jump into a locker, or work on a generator or totem right away, and once you heal to full you also lose your DS. THEN we can talk about making it default. Once you are off a hook and working on objectives or healed up, you are back in the game, FAIR game to down again. It's supposed to be an anti tunneling perk, but because it has so few limitations, all of the advanced survivors use it as a get of out jail free card instead.
Yes! These are excellent ideas to balance the ds. I totally agree that jumping to a locker or working on a gen, especially if a survivor starts working on a gen, should disable the ds right away. These are the kind of balances I am hoping would be considered to counter balance the automatic ds change. This way it would be more of an anti-tunneling perk and less of something you can abuse to screw with the killer.

Something you need to understand is that you aren't supposed to be able to be guaranteed to get away from the hook even if you get tunneled. That's the point of the game. It's called KILLER for a reason, you are supposed to be at risk at all times when around the killer. If the devs really took things the direction you're wanting then this game would rapidly die because nobody would want to play killer anymore. Survivors already have SO MUCH power and so many resources at their disposal to absolutely humiliate the killer in ways that should never have been possible in a game like this. Survivor could not possibly be more easy than it is now and it's sad to see that people still want it even more spoonfed.
I get your point. But maybe it's good to introduce my side of things a bit more clear. I have played dbd since it came out on all the platforms except switch. I play both sides, but more killer. I am rank 1 killer/survivor in every season. I know how things are stacked against the killer, and survivors are very powerful currently. But that is not what I am trying to push with auto ds. The auto ds is suppose to be an anti-tunnel perk, nothing more, nothing less. It has a timer to make sure you can't abuse it beyond its fair time zone. It has a purpose to carry, that is why you take the perk. If you can't carry that purpose, why even have the perk.
There were good points someone made that just the fear alone is enough to change the flow of the game. Yes, this is true. Even I fear to pick up survivors sometimes due to getting screwed by the perk, so it does balance things out sometimes, considering that the survivor might not even have the perk in the firt place. But fear alone is not enough to justify why the perk can fail sometimes. Again, you choose it in your build to use it. The fact that there are many matches you don't get to use the perk at all should be enough reason to balance the fear arguement.
By making the ds automatic, the perk can always be tweaked in other places to balance the change. I do understand it is a very powerful game changing perk as it is. But getting to use it because it is that one perk in your slot you are willing to sacrifice other useful perks for is a key factor here. I hate to use ds because more often than not I fail the skill check and feel like wasting my perk slot for something I rarely get to use. You can say: Well, git gud, but come on now, there are other factors than skill in place when hitting the skill checks and that's pretty much why I feel it should be automatic in the first place.

@Milo said:
Yes, it's still a 5 second stun that can completely ruin killer's flow (even if they weren't tunneling)
That is exactly the point of the perk. Why else would you take it? It is suppose to have an effect that you are willing to sacrifice the perk slot for. There's too many variables that makes ds an unreliable perk to use.
- You fail the skill check
- You don't get a chance to use it at all beacuse no opportunity presents itself.
- The ds runs out of time.
Now, obviously 2 and 3 are part of the deal, that's the risk you take for something powerful that is suppose to keep you save. But to fail it due to a skill check feels like overkill at that point. Ds is the one and only perk that keeps killers from tunnel people after all. It gives you a second chance to fight against an unfair killer.

It takes him forever to get to tier 3 with that add-on, even more so if he's combined it with the one that lets him stay in tier 3 forever. Most of the game should be over by the time he even gets there. If he manages to get a 4K that way, the survivors are probably doing something wrong.
I clearly need to try the addons and see this to myself once I get those addons from the bloodweb... Until then, I refuse to believe it is really as hard as people say it is considering what I have seen as as a survivor when playing against these Myers who have them ^^

@Keezo He's talking about the tombstone addons, not the base instadown.
@Sunbreaker7 It's a Very Rare and Ultra Rare add on that allows this. Both add-ons greatly increase the time required to reach Evil 3. There are ways to get around it. Hiding while he's in Evil 3 is the best way, but you can also jump in a locker (which will make him grab you instead of kill you).
Yes, I was indeed talking about the addons, not his normal ability. I still think this addon is way overpowered and should not exist, but that's just my opinion.

You should play those killers for a good while to see that there is nothing wrong with their traps. Even decent survivors can play pass the traps and make the killer look like a fool.
You can crouch and use flashlight to avoid hag traps. And you can use perks and careful steps to avoid running into traps in grasses, door, and windows.

If they show gore it could get banned in Germany and stuff.
Hmm. I did not consider that gore may raise an issue of ban in some countries. I mean, isn't gore just part of horror games and movies and it's not like they don't have those in Germany.

Punish killers for camping hooks by making a bar that builds up as long as the killer remains near the hook and the more the bar goes up, the faster the survivors repair generators. Only if a hook is near a generator, this can be balanced somehow. The killer would need to walk a certain length away from the hook before this bar resets, and it would provide a window of opportunity for survivors to go save the friend somewhat safe.
-
The problem instantly here is that while it sounds cool, it would be too op. Pig is already quite a high tier killer, he doesn't need anything that would make him more powerful.
-
Obviously if the game were to be made balanced and fair for both sides, killer and survivors, the game would become competitive. That is pretty much given to any and every popular online game.
Now, would that be good for the player base, I don't really think so. What makes dbd fun in my opinion is the fact that it doesn't try to be competitive, but instead it tries to make unique game mechanics that are fun rather than fair. By becoming competitive I believe the developers would need to change a lot about the game to a point where it no longer Would be the same core gameplay it is now. It could be better, not saying that could not be one outcome but the risk is great as bad changes to core gameplay could potentially lead to death of the player base and the game itself.

Crazy dentist with hooks replaced by dentist chairs where dentist equipments begin to try to drill the survivor's mouth as they struggle.
Evil Witch of the forbidden forest where there is a cooking pot somewhere in every map and the witch needs to gather ingredients from survivors to finish her potions that add buffs to her mid/late game.
A very tall and hidious-looking killer that is just intimidating to look at and it uses various ways to blend in environment to catch the survivors off guard.
I still think that dbd should do a full turnaround for its artstyle and focus on more brutal and gore atmosphere and better graphics and more horrifying killer designs. I wish the game looked actually scary and dark.

Last year is a dead game that did literally everything to die since its day one. Just because now it got a reboot doesn’t mean it should be inspirational.
Just because a game failed at something doesn't mean it doesn't have other inspirational aspects to it. Last Year's killers' brutal take downs and their personalities far surpass Dead by daylight's killers in my book. And I am not here trying to sell the game for anyone, because I totally agree with you on the part that the game pretty much failed on its start and I don't even play the game myself. I just think there's something that can be taken as a inspiration to use on dbd, and there's nothing wrong with that, devs do it all the time.

This second chance claim is nonesense. Yes, survivors have plenty of chances trying to escape
- Gens
- Exit hatch
- Exit hatch with a key
- Exit gate
However, giving the rare situation that the exit gates spawn close to each other is like not giving a chance to escape at all, so why even bother having the exit gates like this. Everyone who has ever been in this situation knows you have 0% chance to escape and the only way to escape is if the killer wants to let you escape, which is exactly what some have stated here they tend to do, becuase even they know it's unfair situation for the survivor.
Go ahead, make a test where the survivor tries to win 2 close exit gate situation against a killer who runs between the two gates to check on the survivor trying to open the gate. I guarantee you, 10/10 times the killer will always catch the survivor, there is no mind game, there is no chance.

That isn't a bug. Playing on controller is difficult because turning the camera also turns the survivor.
That's not helpful even in the slightest. This is clearly a bug because my camera works just fine on PS4 and PC, but my friend has the same issue as this guy and I am currently waiting an answer from the moderator on another thread.

The problem isn't your internet connection, it's a matter of the players in your region, and not really something the devs can "fix", at least not directly.
Because DBD is a 4v1 game, for ideal matchmaking, the amount of people queuing for survivor should be four times as many as those queuing for killer. It sounds like in your region, more than 20% of people want to play killer, which means the ratio of killers to survivors is off and so killers get longer queues. It varies according to platform because the ratios might be slightly different for PC players in your area compared to console.
The only thing the devs can really do to fix that is make killer less desirable to play, which I'm sure you'll agree is not a great idea.
What I would recommend you do is do something else while waiting in the queue. Keep the game open and watch a movie or a TV show, play something on your phone, scroll through your social media app of choice, whatever you do in your downtime. Find something fun to do while you wait, and queuing for games will seem like much less of a chore.
I have been doing idle things that kill time as I wait to get to a match, that's all I can really do in my situation. It's a shame that the game has become like this. I remember the time when DBD was a new game and it was super easy to connect to games as a killer for months until the developers introduced some new match making system that changed the whole thing for me.
