I never understood this “no skill” argument about perks. Which perks do take skill, exactly? There are almost none, pretty much every perk in this game is just an unlock for a neat boost. Aura reading, easier heals, slowdown, more movement speed, and so on. Even the perks that require timing or management of tokens or whatever really don’t require much skill at all.
Also, BT and DS are not “free” since they require a perk slot. Like every other perk, you use a slot to unlock some kind of bonus effect. That’s the opposite of free.
Theyre strong perks yeah? we can all agree on that, if we cant then theres no point in a discussion. i play survivor most of the time tbh but i still want the game to be fair and balanced for everyone, the argument that these perks take no skill is the fact theyre such strong perks but take no build up to use them, for example you can use BT up to 6 times yourself (8 if everyone runs it) thats alot of free escapes or time wasted just for using BT which lets be honest takes no skill you just run up and unhook, theres no fear or anything same as DS you get 60 seconds free of not being hooked, if you get picked up in that time you escape and can lead on another huge chase or the killer leaves you and time has just been wasted. these perks are so very strong that just having an obsession in a match will force killers to ply so very differently and i feel they shouldnt be so free, while yes every perk takes no skill some have requirements needed to be met or downsides to them but both DS and BT do not and thats why they become so meta. the real issue is when so many people use these perks in one match, even worse when the unhooked survivor blocks with BT because even if he gets down he has DS and its all abit of a mess when you come across that level of play, on the most part games arent too bad but DS time needs to be shorter/deactivate after a hook so it counters tunneling (should also counter moris in my opinion) and BT shouldnt be free altruism (maybe any damage dealt to the unhooked player inflicts mending on the savior so you cant just run in careless). i dont wanna ruin the game for either side but i also want balance, i could understand the ruin nerf carrying killers but so can DS and BT, hell i see it too often on my team. most perks need a buff, but DS and BT need a rework/change.
-
60 seconds is too long simple as. reduce the time or disable it once i hook someone else. BT is also an issue as its just free altruism, allows people to do unsafe saves and still be rewarded for it. BOTH DS and BT are too free and easy to use and should not be given as free, DS means you dont need to be worried about getting hooked for 60seconds and BT means free unhooks. both take little skill and compared to other perks too strong for such little effort.
-
Actually the game is too easy to pip. the issue is achieving a pip in an average game really isnt too hard at all, killer or survivor as it doesnt require a huge amount of effort until you at least hit red ranks which even still can be pretty easy as long as you arent a one trick pony. the game also awards black/safety pips which mean you hardly ever de-rank meaning nearly everyone gets alot lower than their actual skill which is why sometimes you get games you can dominate and not pip because the game was way to easy, iv had killer games and survivor games where i "win" (escape or killed all 4) but because it was too easy and matched against people not at the right rank even the game gets confused. OVERALL:
- Dont worry about pipping, ranks honestly mean so very little atm
- The lower ranks tend to consist of the same perks/killers etc. which you will soon miss seeing other things
- if you de-pip/safety and escape as a survivor you wasnt matched against the right skilled player or you didnt do enough in the trial (its not all about escaping)
- If you de-pip/safety as a killer after getting 4k with 4/5gens it means you was so very miss matched or you didnt provide entertainment for the entity (remember thats the whole point lore wise) which means if you dont hook them enough times (slugging them all or using mori`s) then you will not pip

They stopped following the two week rule with the CoH. The PTB was on the 18th of February, and the DLC was released on the 9th of March. I don't think there ever was a 1 week rule.
i think he means PTB for 1week, changes for 1week, then release. im pretty sure its the 28th and the tome is 29th, id love 21st as the earliest but i pretty sure its 28th
-
way too many variants, should be 3 max tbh. its kinda boring being sent to that map so damn often, maybe i have bad luck but its a map i see too much.
-
21st earliest or the 28th, new tome probably 29th
-
iv been playing him at rank 1 fine, i personally dont think he`s that bad of a killer.. a slightly increased reload speed is fine but iv usually downed someone so i reload before picking up, so id save a few seconds during the whole game
-
i wish the survivors i went against used selfcare, but sadly they dont they will just do gens injured, use a pretty good medkit or someone will be running god damn we`ll make it. Honestly if survivors use selfcare theyre making it easier on the killer, that person is healing for about 40seconds, thats half a gen and getting injures is so very easy plus if you have any add-on or perks to inflict mangled etc. yeah its taking even longer, selfcare is a terrible perk at high end skill because it wastes time, takes up a perk slot and usually means that person isnt confident enough to me active while injured. if i see a survivor selfcare each time i hit and leave them then i shall make sure i keep hitting them and dropping the chase, they will think theyre doing okay staying alive but ill be using that wasted time to chase others, get hooks and more stacks for thana. But sadly all i seem to verse is DS,BT, then a mixture of DH,Unbreakable,Sprint burst, well make it, adrenaline.

ye this is just one of those funny topics lmfao,no need to be that serious about it.
then give me a character with a huge monster slong so i can whip it about..... im sorry im expressing my opinion, i love the game and there isnt many games that play like this one does especially being such a huge horror fan. all these license characters in this game i grew up with/on and its so wonderful having them all in a game i can play (few are still missing from the collection but im hopeful) but id hate to see this game suddenly start over sexualizing characters making them all slutty, half naked, cat girl things etc. itd ruin the atmosphere and feel of the game for me, there are plenty of games out there that focus on the sexual shape of woman etc. but far fewer online horror games involving movie characters thats all

just trying to make a topic about characters, i'm tired of the "us vs them" topics and all the rage
im all for different threads, its sure damn annoying to see every post about nerfing something because they dont like it etc. but i honesty dont see any more progression being made my trying to overly sexualize characters, having ideas and discussions about prosthetic limbs etc. or just new types of survivors in general are cool and interesting but people shouldnt be focused on tits, ass etc. the characters are what they are and they dont all need to be sexually attractive, hell give me a fat geeky guy that snorts as he gets hit, i want a range of characters not similar looking ones.
-
because a dog doing a gen really shows the horror aspect or even slight realism. a survivor could have a bionic feature like a replaced limb but other than that they should remain human, its the point of the game...
-
imagine playing a game and the main focus being someones ass...
-
honestly just get better, if you can always tell what a killer is gonna do you can just counter them too easily, sound and visuals is such a huge advantage and honestly killers should be harder to verse and they should be different. i can loop and play against them well enough and so can alot of other people, dont cry nerfs because you struggle.
-
OP, stick on monitor and you will be hitting so many people with free hits and with those being insta downs then thats huge. stick on thana, people wont wanna heal because of the insta downs which means slower gens too and if they do heal they just wasted time healing and you just instant down them anyway. be a boring killer but would be insanely strong
-
like most people said they have spoke about it, however i personally feel it should be split into 2 categories which is based on the speed of the killers so killers like hag, nurse, deathslinger, huntress and spirit should have different ranks to all the others. i wouldnt want every killer having their own ranks because you could just swap out killer each time and have easy matches till reset but having them in groups would eliminate that and give those harder killers to learn a different level. but ghostface shouldnt be hard to learn, just use stealth get free hits, stealth some more and repeat and youll do fine

someone finally agrees with me... I think
Just try not to let toxic people get to you, it can be hard at times sure but its not worth it. but i refuse to play especially killer until DC bans are made a sure thing, iv had the game coming up 3 years. while i dont play it a huge amount like some people im always rank 1 killer and survivor but when i last played the game i done 5 killer games, i had 2-3 DC`s each match, some was on first down, some on second and some on death hook to rob me of points, they was toxic, ran god loops etc. and then quit when i get them and they should be punished, i often use party streamers and always use BBQ so im losing huge BP and its not fun just to wait to get into a game, have people try be toxic and run god loops then when you get someone they dc, its boring and annoying. theres no point quitting if youre struggling, the harder games are where you learn most! a great thing to do is play both roles, survivor is more chill and you can learn more killer tricks but also do other things, theres no point playing the game if youre gonna get stressed. sure you get bad games and toxic people but thats most PVP games tbh and its best to try your best and just step away, quitting dont help anything, you wont improve and you can ruin peoples games whether the DC is a killer or survivor. just play, try your best and thats all anyone is asking of you, just dont DC
-
it use to be 500,000 so feel lucky haha. honestly im not sure why theres a cap but it doesnt really matter just spend the BP as you get it, i would assume its due to new chapters getting released and they dont want people to have all the strongest stuff straight off the bat, they waant people to work towards things after the release, you get a head start and thats it. this way you see new killers/survivors using different perks till they unlock the meta ones. (or you can just not claim the tome challenges and you have save BP that way if you really wanted) either way i dont mind the cap

what are the times? like how long can you get banned for?
the DC bans really arent that harsh, im pretty sure the first few is a few mins then at the max is becomes an hours. but you need to quit alot and often for that to happen, the DC ban times will go down if you dont quit so lets say you end up having to quit a game once a week for an emergency, you wont even notice the ban as itll be such a short time and will be reset before your next DC. i cant remember the exact times from memory im sure others know it but i havent quit a game in years whether thats DBD or another game, obviously we can all disconnect through powercuts or wifi issues but they arent common and you wont notice the bans, if you are having connection trouble its best to sort that with your internet provides and be mad at the game though. it is after all just trying to improve the experience for everyone.
-
Hes fine, honestly you probably just need to get better... not being mean but thats just being honest, if he was as OP as you say every red rank would be a doctor which isnt the case and when you do see rank 1 docs they still arent any better than other killers you go against. each killer has counters, they also have hard counters (a perk which can really hurt them, for example calm spirit on doc) if this killer is one you struggle so much with using a perk to help you wouldnt be a waste, if you really need to rely on your perks that you have currently that shows you probably arent that adept yet so youre still learning which is fine. as for the lunge only myers changes, tier 1 is smaller and tier 3 is bigger. everyone else has the same, just the animations are different, if you play killer you understand this and you always lunge at x distance. either way i see many people play fine against him on my team or against me when im playing him
-
DC bans are needed, too often do you get toxic survivors that will click their flashlight etc. but if you down them they DC, Same goes for people who are hooked first. people often only see a fun game when they are doing well, which is obvious and fair because even im the same. if i lead on good chases and stuff im having fun, if i dont im likely not having as much but at the end of the day its a game, so much can change and there never a reason to quit out because youre being petty. on xbox people have been using the DC exploit (They DC but counts as an escape which should be major bans tbh). but if you have an emergency you can just DC, after all the times arent terrible and you arent gonna have lots of emergencies before the bans reset. but ust quitting due to being downed, not doing so great etc. shouldnt be allowed, it ruins everyones games and fun and you shouldnt be selfish. no one is forcing you to play, you have other games or other things to do and you can only get better if you stick through those harder matches so DC`s bans are fair and just.
-
its only harder for killer now due to the ranking constantly being changed, getting a 4k use to be a double pip which made it very easy. i believe the most recent chapter 15 i got both the killer and survivor adepts first game, survivor is easier though but with everyone hitting red ranks you can get some easy games, obviously map and the actual killer and their perks will determine how hard it is, survivor is pretty simple perkless but that is a 4v1 afterall... but with god loops gone and gens slightly slowed it shouldnt be too hard now
-
i havent played for awhile due to the DC exploits going on, but if the games play like a 120 thats fine by me, usually im sitting at 150-200 with half the people i verse so ill take it, hopefully the DC bans will come in then ill play the game again
-
the add-on rat liver is insane, its only a brown but i think its a must.
place portals near gens but a few feet away and hidden from sight, this can give free hits (can also be done at hooks if you keep putting them on the same hook)
Perks id run Corrupt, BBQ, POP and Save the best for last
Dont always go for shred attacks unless you know you can hit it, you can wait for certain animation like vaults
use shred on dropped pallets, the survivor will either stay till its gone or run off, if he runs off cancel it and chase, this will mean they have less chance to get to another loop.
Personally i dont like playing demo, his lunge is nice providing you hit them 95% of the time but his portals can feel a little lack luster and he isnt a very strong killer, its obviously your choice of killer but i would say always run rat liver, its effects really help get those shred attacks on loops etc.
-
Nah its not dying people are just too busy complaining like always, after the 3.7.0 update im likely to play the game more often and for longer. its gonna sort out god loops which made killer boring on alot of maps and it will also fix every survivor hitting red ranks (maybe i can hope) either way its all good improvements that are needed and fair tbh, the last few changes id personally like are DC bans (xbox dont have it yet) rework on DS/BT just so they aint so powerful when a full team has them, i feel they need more requirements to activate instead of giving free safe unhooks etc. and then a mori nerf so you have to either wait X seconds after theyre unhooked or be on third hook and provide bonus BP to the killer etc. hell even make ds counter moris just shorten the timer so its actually an anti tunnel perk not a unhookable survivor for 60seconds
-
Can you imagine complaining about clearly over powered loops with no skill or requirements needed but to run to the same window over and over, anyone that says this update has killed the game was probably a bad survivor, it takes no skill to run those loops... you all complained about ruin being unfun etc. well so are god loops for the killer, either way ill stay at rank 1 survivor because i have always been there and didnt need the ruin nerf to belong, i dont need meta perks or god loops just to be good at the game, i guess enjoy green ranks where you belong? ill be glad less people will hit red ranks, who knows might get a team that do gens and dont hide all game if there isnt a god loop ;)

This is the problem running extra hindered. He requires good add ons and he doesn't have many good ones. Extra hindered, longer duration(It's gray, green and purple), exhaustion add on, reload speed and red ones and that's it. He also needs a lot of perks like STBFL unlike Billy which can 4k without perks and add ons.
I'm playing Clown at red ranks. But with experienced survs you can't do much
a green and yellow is considered average, a fair few killers require that tbh but like i said its more down to the other factors than just the killers themselves, and honestly alot of killers struggle against a full team of experienced survivors. personally wait till the new map changes and then see, alot of killers will perform better due to the spacing of loops and the removal of god loops... most of the time iv played clown its been default, i never really put BP into him recently but the addons i said are just the strongest pair and they really are so very strong. its all opinion obviously but i dont think hes terrible
-
@CasualConsolePlayer said:

There is no yellow duration. And no Freddy's snares are doing better job than Clown's entire power. Freddy doesn't require add ons like Clown (snares are slowing down more than tonics), doesn't slow down while using power like Clown and doesn't need to waste time to reload his power like Clown. Not to mention that he makes a lot of noise while vaulting so you can't mind game.
And it's just a part of his power (Freddy).
i never compared him to freddy... and im pretty sure there is a yellow add-on, i dunno i dont play him much but he isnt as bad as alot of people say he is, i see some good red rank clowns and my friend even mains him and i would consider getting 11hooks 4k with him at rank 1 not a bad killer, while hes much better with the extra hindered he`s not terrible at all. i made a post awhile back comparing each killer at base and clown wasnt at the bottom and even shown screenshots against rank 1`s on maps considered very good for survivor, its more than just the killer that affects how well a killer can do, you have maps, perks, the survivors you verse and their perks. there are obviously better killers that will never change, there will always be a best and worst but clown isnt the worst out there but yes freddy does do better, his snares are smaller though and cannot be thrown at survivors in the distance
-
well my common build that i share on most killers is corrupt, pop, BBQ then last one is a mix of other perks depending who i play, i would say the easier killers are the faster moving ones, these tend to be easier overall and still pretty strong regardless and id say play most iller to get a feel for what style you like, if youre new to killer the perks shouldnt be a must, feel free to ask anything iv been rank 1 killer/survivor for nearly 3 years so im happy to give advice
-
he`s alot stronger than some of the other killers out there, just run the two green add-on, extra hindered and longer duration (duration can be yellow) id much rather play clown than leatherface anyday and i played a clown game the other day on iron works and i manged to do well, the killers arent the issues tbh (except leather faces hes pointless) its maps, loops and just the overall speed on gens when going against a mtea swf that know how to play but the maps are getting fixed so clown will be much better by then as will every killer
-
the big question isnt why is DBD so toxic but why are there people to begin with that go into games designed for players to have fun to intentionally bully, harass and upset a complete stranger for no other reason than their own amusement. the game is insanely fun but also so very toxic, like alot of games sadly but i feel thats more the generation than the games... iv never understood of people can have such lack of humanity.

DS and BT are fine, as-is.
Enjoy your map changes and slower gen speeds.
👍️
sorry did i offend your meta build? i wouldnt consider a 4 man all running those perks fine, even more so in swf where the person with BT blocks you. BT allows 100% safe unhooks, gives the person off the hook an extra hit state to waste time, means you cant slug or anything to cause pressure, sure you can follow and wait out BT or even just hit through it but then all you have done is waste time as he has DS, BT takes no skill and has no downfall. DS means you cannot be hooked for 60seconds, sure you can be slugged (unless you have bt thanks to meta) this mean you dont really need to heal and can rush gens with 0 downfall, a killer can chase and eat the DS but oh more time wasted. for the most part i dont struggle with killer and thats because alot of noobs hit red ranks, but come across a full meta swf that sit on gens yeah there isnt much you can do, iv had games with insanely fast downs, survivors couldnt even loop or anything and they still rush through gens etc. all im saying is survivors that rely on perks that require no skill shouldnt be rewarded so much, its no different to ruin...
-
it should be balanced between not both, and swf isnt the issue, the biggest issues have always been map size, god loops or just meta AF perks that waste so much time with no downfall. its why so many swf end up being toxic because they feel unbeatable and then when you do start beating them they just DC exploit (on xbox anyway). but having a full swf team that stay on gens and know how to play the game all running DS,BT,DH and adrenaline there isnt much you can do, iv had games where i have had every chase last less than 10 seconds (iri huntress) and they still bash through gens and i have had survivor games where i have done every gen and the killer has 1 odd hooks, its just not a one fix thing its multiple fixes... killer will be better with the map changes though so thats good now just a fair balance for DS and BT and it will make the more skilfull players show
-
@Peanits said:
You seem to have focused on the end result and rewards (points, pips), but that's not all that people play the game for. When the killer leaves early, the game ends. Everyone now has to go back and sit in queue. If you're playing to actually play the game, that guy leaving has quite literally stopped you from doing so.
so are you guys aware or fixing the DC exploit on xbox? getting very annoying tbh and theyre being rewarded for it
-
reports dont do anything, its a clear exploit that is being used more and more, theres no reason for them not to do it, they dont get punished if anything they get rewarded as they keep their item and a bonus 5k BP as it counts as escaping. Im sick to death having multiple DC`s per game, they even do it on death hook or while dying so they get all the benefits of escaping... whether its a normal quit or this exploit it should you should be banned
-
-
@katoptris said:
If people wanna disconnect let them. It bannable anyway.
Sure must be why i see the same people doing it and it happening so often...
-
Survivor, while alot of games may not seem that way (killing everyone before one gen even gets done) if there is a full team (doesnt need to be swf) but a good team filled with people that do gens and have good tile knowledge and looping capability then the killer will have an extremely hard time just because the min required time to down some etc. can take awhile and if 3 people are on gens then yeah survivor have the advantage, going in solo then with just one other person makes a huge difference then you can add the stronger meta perks in which makes more hassle for the killer and wastes more time
-
So i have decided to start drawing my design and give it a good shot, sadly its came to a halt as my pencil broke so im currently trying to sharpen it with scissors 😂 none the less, MY IDEA SHALL PREVAIL

the most important thing in thes competiont is orginality of your design
So would designing a cosmetic to fit with the lore hinder me compared to those that just design an outfit theyd more personally like? because id try to make sure its as believable and fitting as possible to their lore but im not sure if that will be seen as creative enough if that makes sense?
-
he`s balanced, but he is only so good due to alot of weaker survivors hitting red rank, while i am glad youre enjoying killer and having fun when you verse high skilled survivors you will realize he turns into a basic attack billy but for the most part people do seem to struggle going against him and personally i feel people panic about his chainsaw... i wouldnt worry about billy getting a nerf, hell i wouldnt expect most killers to get a nerf anymore
-
anyone who says DS isnt over powered is either in denial or not a good survivor, i dont understand why so many people seem to find it so hard to understand and usually if you ever say its OP you get called a killer main or trash etc. but funny enough i play more survivor and im not oblivious to how strong the perk is, hell all the killer does is see an obsession and theyre worried about DS that just shows you how strong it can be, the issue is the ranking is #########, Thats it you can compare half the games because some games you can get 11-12 hooks with 0 gens done and other games 6hooks with every gen done, honestly a good team that isnt afraid to do gens and have a meta build will easily win and destroy any killer. but DS is a killer issue, there are more survivors and people never want balance and everyone to have fun, if they did people would understand and wouldnt purposefully try bully people in matchs or send hate in the chat after the game
-
First off no perk is a must for rank 1, survivor is very easy and pipping is even easy and i honestly dont think you can de-pip unless youre tunneled and mori`d and running any obsession perk will make alot of killers respect unhooked survivors because DS is op tbh haha but some really strong survivor perks are:
- Decisive strike, gives you 60sec of freedom, even if youre slugged at least you arent dying on the hook
- Borrowed Time, will boost you to rank 1 through safe unhooks, nearly impossible to loose points for unhooking and can mean fee escape for the person on the hook at any point, can also combat instant down perks/add-ons so they can take hits for you
- Spinechill, allows you to know if the killer is coming to you even if in stealth, grants faster vaulting in a chase as the killer normally looks at you, also allows you to finish gens, healing or even get exit games open before the killer can get to you
- Provethyself, easy objective BP and makes repairing gens super fast, can gen rush without any issues and can even help in 3gen issues etc.
- Exhaustion perk, pick any theyre all good and can cost the killer alot of time or can just save your life and extend loops, id rate them in this order, deadhard, lithe, balanced landing, sprint burst (headon is fun but not that great without extra perks)
- Unbreakable, killers have to respect DS alot of the time or they will loose, slugging also causes pressure so if you can get yourself up or just recover faster then thats a pretty strong thing to have
there are so very many strong survivor perks out theres, you honestly dont even need them to do well though, as long as one person has a obsession perk youre less likely to get hard tunneled as the killer will assume DS

Oh god, I understand your pain there. Doctor kills my PS4 but not my PS4 Pro, but then destroys my computer - which is a pretty good model.
yeah i honestly dont understand what is going on, it really puts me off playing killer when i struggle just to turn my camera let alone trying to do it during chases, abilities etc. haha im just never sure if its the survivors connection to me or just issues with the game involving certain killers/maps. survivor seems okay for me although i do get some games where the killers connection somehow hits 400+ms and youre just teleporting everywhere
-
i can name nearly every perk for each killer and survivor, while survivor i often use random perk generator to mix it up you cant do that as killer if you dont wanna get bullied by a 4 man swf meta team, having said that though any new survivor can just pick up BT and DS and pretty much get to red rank as long as they play alot without the need of alot of skill as hook saves makes for easy pipping and points, you can buff almost every perk and balance ds and bt and then youd see more but be honest not many people run weaker perks when they can just have the strongest and thats why i made a post awhile ago adjusting every perk to make them all decent
-

Only SWF is easy. If you win playing solo it's an accomplishment.
its easy when your team do gens even if youre solo, its just when you do solo you get games where no one does gens and thats what my post is about, like how is it balanced when it requires survivors not to do their only damn objective haha
-
@Sindel_Lover said:
I don't really know if survivor is easier because matchmaking makes it hard for me to make a comparison. When I play solo survivor, I get killers closer to my rank, but when I play killer, I get entire squads 10 ranks ahead of me. So, at the moment, trying to learn killer as a new player is super stressful compared to survivor.
If matchmaking was better, I think killer would be really fun.
Killer can be fun, however if you learn both roles to a high skill level you soon learn that survivor is easier. i play both sides and am rank 1 for both but when you go against a team that always sit on gens and just do gens there isnt much a killer can do, iv had games where i down survivors within 20seconds every chase and still lose because of how fast gens went and then iv had survivor games with the exact same result, my last game against a rank 1 doctor got 3hooks before all the gens got done? at high skill when a full team does their objective then like i said its pretty much GG even more so with meta perks

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1190482#Comment_1190482
Yeah, hopefully if enough killers stop playing the game Behavior will have the choice of either fixing gen speeds/making a SWF UI or letting the game die
people say its bait because they either arent a high skilled player or just cant admit it, but im not gonna lie about how easy survivor is when your team actually does gens. But not only that if the game requires people not to do their objective to be balanced then thats a big damn issue, i dont care about escaping or finishing every gen i want a game thats lengthy and fun for everyone instead of at the cost of other peoples fun.
-

because the game is imbalanced and nothing is consistent? oh youre a good killer? dont worry youll either go against bad players that rage quit and all die with 4 or more gens left or you will go against a full meta team that do gens and no matter how fast you down you probably arent gonna stop any of the gens... oh youre a good survivor? dont worry we will stick you on a team where no one does objectives and you will be forced to do 3+gens solo while people hook farm, youll also get the least points and someone will hide till you die for hatch or if youre lucky youll get a team that do gens, they wont be perfect but they can hold the action button and the game will be over in a breeze...
