Now I haven't played much but seen enough to know this perk is essentially an 80-second borrowed time which gets disabled after one hit. I got hit by a huntress coming off hook and went into deep wounds, then ran into the corn and tried to juke a hatchet, downed, I was surprised I was downed.
I honestly thought off the record wouldn't disable until I did one of the actions, I didn't see anything about it disabling after a hit from the killer, I did wonder but presumed it would be mentioned in the patch notes.
I really thought this would be an anti-tunnel perk that literally ends tunnelling but it doesn't, that is highly disappointing BHVR.
You can change all the perks you want but until you do something definitively to end camping and tunnelling before the endgame, all your work in-game is meaningless and most solo survivor games are just not fun.
sorry to be a drag and I do really appreciate the grind reduction, but this mid-chapter release really needed to be a hit but it's a fail to me, granted it's still early days but I see no motivation to play unless I'm creating content.
off the record shouldn't disable until the survivor does one of the actions, it shouldn't disable after a hit from the killer. I know on PTB there were issues with survivors abusing it by stacking endurance hits but it's more important for off the record to be a definitive anti-tunnelling perk that ends tunnelling once and for all.
The grind reduction keeps me around but all the perk and small base kit game changes really haven't changed anything, just some perks aren't being used now.
Just my honest feedback on the mid-chapter release but I do really love the new prestige/progression system.
I really thought this would be an anti-tunnel perk that literally ends tunnelling but it doesn't, that is highly disappointing BHVR.
that is the problem. you cant end tunneling there is really just no way to do that because ending tunneling would mean a perk or base mechanic thats 100% prevents the killer from harming the unhooked survivor until the survivor does one of the deactivation actions or another survivor is hooked.
that would be just a mess because you could then block hits for the other survivor but if they make protection hits deactivated it you would have so many times where you didnt even tryed to protect but the killer came from the right side so the game treats it as a protection hit and so on that would be just a mess and a big invation to a ton of bugs

franklins on hag is just a normal thing because flashlights are so strong against her. if seen my fair share of games from really good killer player that get stomped like a 10hr noob because they basicly play a slow m1 killer without any power if even one surv has a flishlight and stalks her. and hag is a trap killer so ofcourse she sets up traps at places people will come to and a item on the ground is a perfekt spot for that why not.
and no i as a killer am not responsible for your fun because lets be real survs having fun means looping the killer till he leaves the chase and 4e so where comes the fun for the killer? are survs magicly not responsible for the other sides fun?

The most annoying part of that is that you will lose two health states for this mistake.
Also, They added a few lockers near the pallets. It is almost the same story but actually even worse: sometimes survivor use pallet vacuum to fake running away of the pallet but then vacuum+stun the killer.
In this scenario you are really dancing near the pallet
well if the new lockers hinder this i am for a locker on every pallet both sides
-
only time i slugged someone to death was when i legit coulnd get this nea to a hook on rpd and she knew it and just ran into the same corner every chase and i even camped her body because there was exponetial above her so slugging alone wasnt an opption
-
i dont think that is a good idea for the same reason i am against removing the usernames from the lobby and i am all for showing the killers user name and also the ping of all users. i think every one should be able to see if they face a sqadd with matching names or a ttv and decide if they want to face it and i actually check my opponents steam profile and if i see some lvl 1 private profile i am out because i have faced enough cheaters
-
So to break it down challenges need longer to complete and are more challenging.......
Well thats how a CHALLENGE should be. We don't talk about darksouls lvl of challenging you just cant run through the rift like the flash and the rift is open long enough that even super casual players can finish it if they want to
-
Last second switch is just stupid and that's it. Bhvr gave killer the ability to see if survs bring a item because it's 1v4. Every one defending last second switch are simply people that like to abuse it and bullie people

-
Nah 50% is alright I would just love if the fun we have gets more.
Atm you roughly have a 50% win rate wich is fair but the problem is that most of the games you lose feel like a kick in the guts because there was no chance in winning and most of the games you win feel like there was never a chance of loosing. The amount of games that felt fair and you had a fun exiting game no matter if it's a loos or a win are just to small and that goes for. Both sides

you may be onto something .. i just think that rescuing a fellow survivor from a cage should count towards a stack . i love me 4 whole stacks from wglf !!!!
Totally understandable but then BBQ should also stack and when you start with that people will say but bt and ds need to work because tunnel bad and then the whole idea of the cage as a total hook perk counter gets lost.
But how often do you face phead in the end? I haven't seen him in ages
-
I think the problem is that they aren't really owned by bhvr but by neteas who makes the mobile game for the Asians and they also have a lootbox system these things are bound to so I think it would be so easy to give them. To us
-
@Bwsted said:
It's not a bug. It's intended. But there's also no reason why stacks couldn't be gained that way.
I mean the there is a reason why stacks couldn't be gained that way and that is that the cage is designed that way. The killer gets no BBQ stacks or dms or devoure. Nothing related to hooks in any way works with the cage and thats how it's supposed to. I think specially coding that x perk still gets stacks would be to much for bhvr Spagetticode
-
No.
Sure swf are often harder to beat and sometimes just plain impossible to beat. And bully squats exist but we should not remove the ability to play with friends that would be the doom of this game.
We should balance the game so killers can compete against good coordinated swf and we should get solos up to a similar strength so they don't be left on the side of the road

RPD offering, Saboteur or toolboxes. Stack the totem with CoH because why not. Hook spawns are pretty unforgiving in this map and the killer will have to drop survivors frequently, who can pop back up provided they're on the right half of the map. Boons have massive coverage provided they're placed in the center 1/3 of the map (of which there's a couple excellent spots.)
The secret to all of the non-CoH boons is RPD. Midwich, Lery's, and the Game are inferior but still worthwhile choices.
I've seen Exponential get some scattered value on random maps - one notable time was when the gens were done and two survivors were left, and the killer tried to slug in order to get both survivors, only for the slug to pop up and make a break for the gates. But on maps where the totem is exposed and ultimately close to where you have to loop it, the killer's liable to spot and stomp it before it can do anything for you.
Badham is another good map for Exponential, but you want one of the variations where the basement is more in the center of the map than squished in a corner. The totem in the basement is pretty much an impenetrable fortress and the entire area around the preschool will have hyper-Unbreakable - which is great, because hooking people from within the preschool is already tricky. Just make sure that basement spawns in shack.
Keep in mind that to get any value from Exponential, the killer needs to slug, so Exponential is automatically better as a team perk than a solo perk. You want your teammates to harass the killer or bait them away from you. In solo, it's all dependent on whether the killer wants to slug (in addition to whether you're close enough, if they spotted the boon, etc.) That's not at all reliable.
For me it's Was also rpd. First game with sadako and I just had bad luck that both hooks near the armory where already destroyed by sacrificing and then boil over made it too hard for me to reach a hook so I had to slug. Well above the Amory was exponentiall CoH shadowstep -. - I had to sit there and watch nea bleed out since the gates where already open and she got up again and again and again and tryed to escape my grasp with DH it was just a pain

Whats just not true. Just because you cant win consistent with a low tier killer doesnt mean theyre trash. Its just the need to learn how to use them correctly would take too much time for those people. Otherwise nobody with an average gamesense would say something like this.
So you want to tell me your average killer player can have consistent wins with trapper against an equal good team of survivors let alone swf. Even if he enters the higher mmr ranks?
And I talk about having good games and wins and not a win from time to time and between them just a slog of unwinnable games. And I really mean the average play not people that make a living out of the game or something like that.
I really don't want to hop on some survivor hate train but most killer feel like they can't win when you reach a certain point

For legal reasons, every character is over the age of 21.
However, let's be real, certain characters aren't coded like this, Susie being one such character. Her cosmetics always reference being a sophomore- which is like Year 11 in the UK, so 16 at max; she's very often given the 'uwu smol girl' cosmetics, and just overall it doesn't seem like she was created with being a fully grown adult woman in mind. Which just makes everything feel... weird.
At least with other characters, while you know them to be young, it's not explicitly mentioned they're still in high school in basically every cosmetic piece, which really seems to want to hammer home that message.
Yeah Okey that explains it because I always thought her to be 18 despite her appearance but I also think grown adults can very well rock the uwu smol girl appearance without getting underaged vibes but that's a personal thing

Susie is in high school. Frank is 19 which probably means Julie is around that age and Joey is probably not much older.
You are indeed right I just Google it and susie is 16 by the time they enter the entitys realm. Now you could argue if she still technically gets older or not but this indeed should rule her out for the dating sim.
In another note isn't that a normal thing for dating Sims to feature 16 year old students atleast from what I have seen but I'm certainly not an expert on this matter

That's one of this classic stupid situations.
A addon pass and maybe some small buffs would be good but he is already very good at tunneling so he can't ge buffs and addon pass but because he doesn't get that people that really like him are more likely to Tunnel with him because it's the most effective thing.
A bit frustrating because both side are right but you are in this stupid loop

I can see the xenomorph work in Dbd but Predator don't luckily the two aren't really a pair that needs to go together. Don't get me wrong the avp stuff is great but they are separat licenses that atleast for me best work alone
-
I don't understand that sentiment towards noed. Sure it is some un earned help if you camp but how about we work on camping instead of NOED then.
Overall noed is fine as it is it gives survivor something to fear and a reason to work on totems. Sure some people will say but noed has even value when it's not picked because survs will do totems cause they don't know if the killer has noed but the same goes for ds or unbreakable.
-
Definitely legion. I just love the fast pace style stabbing people. They feel like a human to me like a killer I could actually encounter in the real world more then the other still human killers (well except the shape).
I played them before the update and I am super happy they managed to buff them without taking away there spirit because I was a bit anxious when they announced they work on them and I hat the fear we get a Freddy lvl rework and end up with a totally different character.
That's what I think in generell when people talk about nurse for example. Sure she needs work done to make her a bit more manageable but she is what she is and that Shoulnd change
-
Nurse and Billy if I had blight he would be in the same category to because I don't do so good with the movements powers in the game

Camping and tunneling is only a "legit strategy" if you're on the wire and you have no choice. How is it a legit strategy to camp and tunnel someone at 4 gens? That's what my problem is.
If there are two gens left and you're low on hooks and you NEED to camp in order to secure a couple kills. Then go for it. But when the game has barely started? Just...why?
As sad as it sound s camping and tunneling is just the most effective way atm. Gens are going really fast and you often loose two or three while you are at your first chase and since survs just love it to throw them self at you while you camp it's just freaking efficient. Tunneling is so good because the earlier you can make it a 3v1 the better because like I said you loose gens quick and it's just not possible to be at 4 places at once so you look to reduce that to three.
Once the first guy is dead most killers start to play much more fair and relaxed. If you have one guy on a hook you can patrol the gens and search for the one survs that works them because the other one is on his way to unhook and then you can make it a cycle.
I think when we get the perk reworks and base game changes the whole tunneling and camping thing will quite down but of course you will always have people that do it out of spite

Saying you are working on a face-camping solution and having a face-camping solution ready for when you disable/nerf Dead Hard (the current face-camping solution) is two different things.
But the thing is you only pick that one aspect of DH. DH has many more frustrating unfair aspekts and that's why it's gonna be reworked. And I know camping sucks but you can send your regards to the test survivor that needed 5 minutes to exploit the hell out of bhvrs last attempt to fix facecamping.
The devs said when they rework the perks they want to rework base game aspects at the same time because they know why certain perks are meta and they know they can't just nerf bt ds and DH without working on the reasons why the people use them so much same goes for the killer perks.
We certainly will see base game changes to tunneling camping and gen speeds/regression
-
For the thousands time they work on a face camping solution because they also want facecamping gone. They are mostly cool with proxy camping but they want to make a base game mechanic to help against facecamping but it just needs time to make a good working solution and not some hasty made band aid that can be abused
-
The way I always saw it is easy.
I kill who I see.
That's very simple I don't camp and I don't tunnel I walk around and hunt if I patrol gens and I stumble over you who is just recently unhooked it's bad luck. If I search for a survivor and come to an recent unhook I will follow one of the two scartchmarks I see if I happen to find the unhooked guy it's again just bad luck.
I will not leave a chase to switch to some one I know is dead on hook but if you stumble around in a dead zone or you want to block me with bt I will get you and I think that's a fair approach to the game.
Only thing that is alway tough for me is when people rush to unhook and don't let me leave because most of the times it's that one guy I already gave up on chasing because he just is good at it and I will lose so much time but for me that is just a bad team mate move and you should blame him
End game gets rid of every rule I give myself and camping and tunneling is fair game
-
Hopefully weaker and I want him to say all these iconic lines from the times resi 5 fight.

I'm sure I'll still have fun during the anniversary event with all the decorations and such, but not getting a mask for my mains makes me just slightly less excited for it.

Survs working with the killer is a bankable offense and should be reported sadly it again only works when you have prove like a short clip.
Funny thing tho it's also forbidden for the killer to work with them so the killer to gets punishment wich can lead to a stupid situation. If I chase a survivor and he runs straight to a locker to reveal his mate I am more or less forced to let the guy in the locker run and even escape at worst because I could get reported

It doesnt matter if you run BT and DS or not. if the killers are dedicated to tunneling they just dont care. And this is one of the biggest issues ingame. it completely breaks the game. making them basekit may looks convenient, but still wouldnt solve the issue.
The thing is how would you stop tunneling? Perks and bodyblock is a good thing if you can rush to an open gate but then tunneling is totally valid so it doesn't matter. But early game tunneling can't be stopped
-
Atleast the reward we get isn't a cosmetic so maybe that lowers your stress a little bit
-
While you are right most of the time it's better to do such things in parts and get feedback on it i think that's not possible here because all the perk changes and the base game changes need to be there at the same time.
If they change base game and then work on perks we will have a weird op phase where you have the new gameplay together with the strong perks and the other way around doesn't sound so good either

Hello!
I love love LOVE the anniversary masks! They're absolutely my vibe and I'm looking forward to unlocking them all! I also understand the very clear desire to offer sophisticated, well-designed and memorable event cosmetics while also recognizing that the cast of unlicensed killers and survivors has become quite large and is likely going to continue growing! It's already at a point where designing unique cosmetics for everyone for each event is not sustainable, and I understand that!
BUT - an idea to consider: what if, for future updates, a few of the hand-picked characters get their fancy, unique, thematic cosmetic while the rest get a generic, simpler, identical item. It'd make sure nobody gets left out and would (hopefully!) not represent too extreme of an additional workload.
That is a good idea. Sure some would feel like there main only gets scrabs but hey better then nothing

And even if they don't, you'll get this for a few games for maybe a week, then never again. Because they'll just tbag until you're close and then Dead Hard out before you hit them.
And? Would still be funny.
I always thought it's hilarious how they stand there like the bravest soldiers taunting death but in reality they are never in danger because freedom is just one step away

there was also a long period of time in which you could see The Red Stain through walls on the lowest quality setting.
Do bushes and other stuff disappear when I play low res like in other games? That would be a Hugh advantage
-
@Tiagoquix said:
It's slightly sad and annoying for me to necessarily have to play the game with the graphics at the lowest settings (because of visibility reasons), and have to go into .ini files to change things that should be native to the game (like the FPS cap, the vertical sync and anti-aliasing).
DBD will likely gain a lot of players with the new update. But until then, you (developers) HAVE to do everything I'm going to say now. This is a to-do list.
- Add more options to the "Graphics" tab in the settings menu.
- Add individual options so that we can customize to our liking. Like texture quality, anti-aliasing quality, shadow quality, shader quality and so on. And also provide an option to disable anti-aliasing (and not just turn it to the lowest quality).
- Fix sg.ResolutionQuality and ScreenResolution being different when using the Low and Medium presets [ https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/r6e1lg/if_you_use_low_or_medium_graphic_setting_and_have/ ]. Basically, if someone adjusts the Screen Resolution setting, both values should be changed.
- Add an option to toggle vertical sync (why this isn't a thing yet?).
- Add an option to disable the FPS cap (why this isn't a thing yet?). At least we should be able to choose between 60 and 120 FPS.
- Fix the anti-aliasing. Use another anti-aliasing method rather than TAA, which just blurs the game. This is more noticeable on lower resolutions. More on that here: [ https://www.reddit.com/r/FuckTAA/comments/oi0v86/taa_on_vs_taa_off_comparisons_sharpness_texture/ ]. Try to implement MSAA, because as far as I know, this is one of the best anti-aliasing methods. More on that here: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDo5TKr6pyc ]. It seems Unreal Engine 5.0 supports MSAA, as said here: https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/forward-shading-renderer-in-unreal-engine/
- One of the saddest things is the fact that, as I mentioned earlier, you have to play the game with the lowest settings for visibility reasons. I would honestly love to play the game on Ultra (I can run it without any problems), but the graphics are very dark and this is a big disadvantage. I really don't like having to play with the game all ugly, but it's the only way to play without having disadvantages.
That's all. Even if you don't do all of them, if you at least do the numbers 4 and 5 that would be an actually good thing. Thanks in advance.
Wait you have better visibility when you play on low quality? Woulnd that mean that they should choose one quality setting and force it on every one so we are all on the same page

An internist thing to know would be what are the announced rewards we get for having a Charakter p3 when the change goes live. If it's outfits like the legacy outfits I would put some time and effort into getting as much of the chars I regularly play to p3 if it's just charms or BP I would max put legion to p3 and thats it.
