  • During that survey they mentioned crafting, so I imagine that they're considering the option to combine addons to create other stronger addons. Hopefully they'd include breaking rare addons into multiple lower rarity addons.

Depending on the killer this might be a pretty good addition. I play hag without addons so it's negligible, but making more aura reading addons sounds good to me. I'd trade all the shoes, hands, hearts, and ears I have for more of those lol

  • This makes me extremely sad. I'd love to participate as hag, but I have to work during most of that time frame.

It starts 7am PST and I'd go to work at 10am... 3 hours to fit 15 matches in sounds pretty impossible to me in addition to downloading anything that might need to be downloaded.

    Oh well... sad day.

  • Oooooh I work that day... I hope I'll still be able to participate. I'd like to rep hag :)

    Thanks for the tip!

  • The trick to stopping camping is to give killers a beneficial reason to leave the hook. They already have an Emblem penalty for being near the hook which does nothing to stop camping.

Instead, maybe give the killers a bonus against the other survivors while a survivor is on the hook. Maybe a small bonus to movement, vaulting, breaking pallets, gen regression speed, or use of their power.

This would not only encourage the killer to go and hunt other survivors to get a bigger bonus or take advantage of the bonus they've just gained, it would encourage survivors to rescue the hooked survivor sooner rather than later.

The important part of this suggestion is that this would need to be implemented as a gameplay mechanic and NOT a perk.

  • He turns invisible and interacts with objects while invisible so he has a physical presence while invisible. He shouldn't be able to go through walls.

The Spirit on the other hand, leaves her physical body behind and travels in a "phased" state. She should be able to travel through physical objects including survivors.

While this sounds overpowered, killers would probably no longer be able to pull survivors off of generators without significant practice.

  • @Peanits said:

At 30 seconds, a 4.6m/s killer would be able to move 138 meters. A 4.4m/s killer would be able to 132 meters. Even on the lower end, as long as the generator you want to kick is within 8 tiles (little under for a 4.4m/s, due to the kick animation), you should be able to kick it. In addition to that, you can also strategically hook the survivor closer to the generator you want to kick to give yourself a little more wiggle room.

That's not to say that a QOL change would be a bad thing by any means, but you should have plenty of time to kick the generator that you want to as is.

@Peanits As a hag player, this doesn't take into account setting traps on the way to a generator or that the generator you're heading towards can be damaged in the first place. Or you happen to run into a survivor during the 30 second window.

What if it was token based instead so a killer could capitalize on finding a survivor while travelling to a gen to kick? They wouldn't have to miss out on the benefit of the perk by allowing a survivor to go unchallenged.

Especially since choosing to let the survivor go is more detrimental than not utilizing pop when it's available.

  • The release time of the Freddy rework isn't nearly as important as the details of the changes due to come out this month.

I'm very interested to see what they've done and if they've learned anything from the past.

My money is on a change in how he works, but he still somehow manages to not increase in viability.

Well last night i looped a Doc for the whole 2mins of the EGC and theres nothing i could do (since i was Last Survivor Standing) so at this point i wouldnt even care if rancor was added to killers kit. If they did add that id like if they added wake ups speed to survivors gate opening speed if theyre last standing..plus no one even uses wake up so they might as well change that perk cause of this.

Not as something added to their kit, but just let Rancor activate when the gates are powered rather than when the gens are finished.

I might be biased, but I can't see any major gameplay issues with this change and it'd allow the perk to be more useful and entertaining now that the collapse exists.

  • Survivors:

    Moried

    Sacrificed

    Bleeding on the ground

    Killers:

    Hag - No Addons

    Spirit - Phase Activation

    Freddy - Pill Bottle

    @Theluckyboi

Hatch can now be closed denying Survivor a chance to escape - nerf

Once the hatch is closed the Survivor must open one of the gates which is most likely spaced a ridiculously close distance apart - nerf.

Case in point, hatch closed, gates distanced a good 4 seconds stride apart:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/713/CFCSDSAR4VDY.gif

In fact everything about EGC is a Survivor nerf.

I notice in this image that 3 survivors are gone. I'm going to assume that they were dead before the collapse began.

If the killer did well enough to kill 2 survivors while the 3rd dc'd for unknown reasons, didn't they do well enough to earn a 4k?

You and your team failed in your only objective. Why should you be allowed to escape freely?

  • "Survivors just want their easy escape"

While the collapse is very much in favor of the killer, why shouldn't it be if the killer successfully sacrificed 3 survivors before the team could power all of the gens?

The killer did their job well enough to put the final survivor in that situation didn't they earn their 4k?

Did the final survivor earn their escape before?

No, but now they can earn it if they beat the killer to the hatch.

If it feels like a heavy nerf, it's because you had it really easy before.

    Welcome to balance.

  • I really liked the idea behind Dark Devotion.

It doesn't have to be competitive or powerful, but just a tweak or two will make it useful and then it will become a VERY interesting perk to play with and against.

What was the focus of the change?

I'll give you credit on your PR positive spin, it's pretty impressive. There's a big emphasis on streamers playing this game. Do you really think it'll be fun for the viewers to watch the streamer lie on the ground for 4 minutes? Or do you think there could be a solution, like allowing survivors to leave the game in this situation so they can move on to the next one? On PS4 the queues can be several minutes long. Should we really be expected to bleed out for 4 minutes and then wait in a queue for another 4? That's excluding seeing the game results, loading the match, etc.

How about the rules as written that say deliberately disconnecting for any reason is against the rules?

Just because you're upset or bored about the current situation you're in doesn't make it "ok" to dc. Continue to do so and you'll face a ban.

  • I haven't purchased anything since before The Spirit and that dlc was gifted to me by a cool guy by the name of Lauri from Finland :) I still remember you guy and am still thankful!

I stopped buying anything with money because of how the devs choose to balance the game and their balance philosophy overall.

I'm currently saving iri shards for the new hag costume, but I'll gladly buy it with cash if the Freddy changes are very well done.

    We'll see.

  • I saw that post as well and it demonstrated a valid concern among players advocating for less toxicity in dbd.

Although posts are usually closed when they break the name & shame rule this one in particular was outright deleted while I was typing a response.

The Streisand effect is in full motion now with people wondering why the mods have gone to such lengths to either protect the streamer in question or prevent conversation concerning the behavior of some fog whisperers.

I'm very interested to see how it turns out, but as we all know from past experience, the rules do not apply to everyone equally and some people get more lenient treatment when it comes to certain behaviors.

Some even admitting to receiving a warning from devs that they're reaching the ban threshold.

Thankfully, the videos still exist and a discussion about them can still occur... even if it's not here.

  • I prestige my killers because I like being able to say that I did...

It's a completely useless "achievement" for cosmetics that can't be purchased and only earned in game.

    Maybe it'll be worthwhile someday.

  • In around 1800 hours I've played around 10 matches as survivor.

This is due to the Hallowed Blight and being forced to in order to get the most out of the event.

I don't enjoy relying on others to accomplish a goal, especially when they can actively screw you over by accident or on purpose.

If I lose as a killer it's either because the survivors were better or I made many mistakes. Either way it's all on me and my own skill which is much more enjoyable for me.

  • We only need one or two strategic killers I think anyway so...

But you have an interesting question that I hadn't thought about.

I suppose another trap using killer could be one that "sticks" to the survivor who triggered it giving them an effect that affects them and any survivors around them with a debuff for a period of time.

Maybe a killer that talks to the crows and when disturbed the survivor gets the afk crows immediately or the particular crow follows them until they're injured.

Maybe something like trapping a generator which causes it to explode blinding or slowing the surrounding survivors for a period of time.

Or similar to the Plague where an interactable becomes trapped and the result is a movement debuff to the survivor. Think sticky tar on a chest, pallet or vault.

There are ideas, it's just a matter of the right implementation.

Maybe because I play both killer and survs and see both sides? Like how brain dead are you to not get this. If every hag I gone against gets 0 kills or straight up rage quits cause they’d can’t do #########. And I myself at red ranks can’t do ######### with Hag. Like where’s your god hags I’m sitting here pointing out I never ######### one pull even a 2k vs good survs

    What's your Steam handle?

If I ever see you in a lobby we'll see how good you are.

It'll be good practice for me to go up against a survivor of your skill and it will also make for a good video for you to prove how terrible Hag really is.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Strategic Killers can be great. Not all of them are (looking at you trapper) but Hag is a great example of a good one.

I wouldn't say Spirit qualifies but I guess that depends on what you mean. Does Myers qualify? He's upper mid tier if he does.

I want to see a Stealth/Zoner hybrid at some point. That seems like a really cool combo

I put spirit in the same category because of her built in mindgame of "is she phasing or not". With the right planning, you can push a survivor to a certain location and be able to use this mindgame more effectively.

Yesterday on the coal tower I hit a survivor on the ground level outside the tower then phased to the second floor where another was healing. She thought I was chasing the first survivor because I planned it that way and scored a pretty fun surprise down.

With any other killer she'd watch the stairs and run away when she saw the red stain :)

That’s Old. I’m talking about the current rank system that doesn’t have potatoes at rank 1 anymore. A good hag vs bad survs means nothing to me. I’m talking good hag vs good survs. Like I can go in and play meme builds and 4K at low ranks.

It's pretty much agreed that the current ranking system doesn't accurately rank killer skill since the requirements to rank up require killers to not do too well against survivors.

Fast 4k's are punished by the current ranking system so killers who consistently stomp teams of survivors regardless of rank don't rank up because of the system.

The age of the videos is relevant since she's been buffed since the statement was that you personally haven't gone against a skilled hag.

The video is just evidence that skilled hags exist and Hag is a better killer than you care to admit.

If I'm a Rank 1 Hag on the 12th of the month and Rank 10 on the 13th, do I still have the skill of a Rank 1 Hag even though my number is green?

Do you have similar skill the day before and after rank reset?

The current ranking system is a poor choice to base your definition of "good" players.

  • @BlazeNightash said:

It’s literally like you can’t read. I HAVE YET TO MEET A DECENT HAG WHO CAN MANAGE MORE THAN ONE KILL AT RED RANKS @Cursed_hatchet

How about 77 videos showing Rank 15-Rank 1 as Hag before her buff on an entire channel with a focus on this particular killer.

Just because YOU have yet to meet a decent Hag, doesn't make her bad or that players that can stomp you with her don't exist.

God, no. Set-up killers are terrible.

Only if your set up is terrible.

I mean... Hag is the most lethal killer on PC and second on both PS4 and Xbox...

    @Milo said:

Clown is the chasing killer with strategic power.

I disagree because in this sense it applies to every killer. You can use their power strategically, but it doesn't require foresight and planning to the extent that Trapper and Hag require to do well.

Yes you teleport to another trap across the map and start an entirely new chase with a fresh surv who also knows how to perfect loop. Oh btw 2 gens are done. Oh what so that you hit them finally? Welll traps are being set off again and another’s gen is done. ######### no hooks in 3 gens rip

    *Laughs in skilled hag*

  • You answered your own post.

You might want to make a post in the Wishlist forum...

  • The second match in this video is one where I use those addons. There are others, but I don't remember where they are.

I usually use those to cover a wider area. Imagine the size of a trigger circle around a trap near a hooked survivor. You can crouch away and then run pretty quickly right? Now imagine if that circle is bigger.

I also like to use these in the middle of a pallet instead of one side or the other. A survivor will trigger the trap sooner giving me time to teleport and prevent the pallet drop while still getting a hit in.

It's tricky, but think about a bigger trigger circle and you can find ways to use them :)

  • Smaller killers should have smaller hit boxes so they can't block the basement...

    Just for that one reason..

    Totally...

    Just that one.

@SpaceCoconut Actually something interesting is in the recent survey the devs brought up the ability to check your stats that could be a good way to show what you need to improve on depending on what all of the stats are and what all it collects just a theory though but we could maybe somehow tie that into a new emblem system who knows

I was interested in that section also.

I was imagining it to be a page of maybe lifetime hooks sacs and escapes. Something simple.

  • @GrootDude said:

@SpaceCoconut it would be interesting to see it tested, but what would beast of prey be changed to?

That's up to the devs ;)

The focus of Beast of Prey seems to be the chase, so perhaps it could give a bonus to movement during a chase... or maybe outside of a chase to be more fair.

Maybe it would create the feeling of hunting for prey when it's quiet and then toying with them during a chase.

  • I think an important question to ask is "Just how important is the Red Stain at all?"

If it were removed, how would it affect overall gameplay and how much of an impact would it have on survivors? How difficult would it be to adapt to the change?

I always thought it would make a match more tense by not knowing or not being able to see a killer clearly in the distance due to the red stain.

"Was that a Claudette or a Hag?"

    "Did it see me?"

  • I had some similar conclusions on the ranking system. I do agree that emblems aren't accurate but how to remedy them is the biggest trick.

    https://youtu.be/Ugb8jdw6rsI https://youtu.be/2zFQHbefX3M

  • This is a bad video to talk about the gen rush lol

I'm not sure how much time was cut out in the beginning but I remember that it was much longer than usual which is why I cut it out. It was just me laying traps.

It's the nature of the hag and trapper to have little action at the start of the match while they set traps.

In this instance, I just didn't run into any survivors sooner.

If I can find a better example I'll post it, but the rush is really just a lack of objectives for the survivors. SWF is powerful only because of this reason also.

  • @FSB75 said:

I'll agree...I feel as though I've missed most events because they are not announced obviously.

One sec...let me check Twitter. Okay back...nope. Nothing mentioned there. David King body pillow, cosmetics, and EGC...nadda on the event. Last post was Apr. 25 about dedis.

    Nothing mentioned here.

Where else would I expect a DBPs announcement?

A casual mention in a Q&A was all it got. Who the hell runs the PR for this game?

I posted a picture of a forum post by queen on my twitter... but I'm a nobody so it went unnoticed :)

  • When a survivor uses MoM, how often is it used with another "second chance" perk?

Dead Hard, DS, Borrowed Time, Enduring, Adrenaline, and other similar perks.

  • This is just a timer.

People are hyped like crazy, but it's really not a big deal.

The only survivors that will get caught by this are the ones who do it deliberately and the ones who fall for a killer's endgame trap.

  • MoM has no counter. I've heard survivors say that same thing before about a killer...

MoM by itself isn't the problem.

MoM being stacked with other second chance perks is.

  • Legion is deader than the Wraith after his cube, but still less dead than Freddy.

    dead legion.jpg

  • As a hag main the layout of the whole map doesn't really matter, just each jungle gym/loop and big structure.

The underboards of the Grim Pantry still confuse the heck outta me though.

  • Hag if you want to play tactically and strategically.

Spirit if you want to play mindgamey and aggressively.

  • The more I think about it, the more I don't think SWF is the problem. It's possible for a group of 4 random survivors to perform their tasks with the efficiency of a swf group.

Their lack of objectives is the problem, not SWF or voice coms.

If survivors had more to do or their current task was slightly more complex then the killer would be allowed more time to interact with survivors.

Right now, it's possible (although not common) for 3 gens to be finished by the time the killer hooks a survivor leaving them very little time to recover.

    I hope something changes someday...

  • The rush can't be stopped... But you can punish them for it and stop them at the gates.

    https://youtu.be/E-qaNkOf4YM

  • Because there's no real punishment for doing so.

  • The timer is 3 minutes normally, how long is the timer with a downed or hooked survivor?

  • @Dreamnomad said:

I expect it to be something like Fortnite/Apex Legends type mechanic where once all the generators are powered there is like a 30 second window before a storm appears in the center of the map. The storm only affects survivors and any survivor caught in it is instantly killed. The storm gradually grows until the whole map is covered. Either get out in a reasonable time or die.

Gate Stopper Trapper would become Meta/Overpowered lol

  • Killer mains want survivors to stand still exactly as much as Survivor mains want killers to not chase them.
