Doctor. Camp Bubbas (i actually love non camp Bubbas) Legion.
Basically, anything that can make the game a real slog to get through. A doctor with a massive range and several gen slowdown perks can just be miserable, camping Bubbas just make it sad for the poor sod who got caught first and Legion is just oppressive, plus I'm not the biggest fan of their chase music.

I think it's asking a bit much of the Survivors. Three is alright, but 4 is pushing it. Just my 2 cents.
3 did seem to be the average i managed while on my own and really trying for it. I had to enlist the help of a friend in order to get 4 in one match.

You play that sticky girl and you play her well!
Much of what I came here to say has been said. Hag is rare, so people tend to lose their minds, especially if you bring franklins. I quite enjoy a hag game, but then I chose Nea to level up first when I started DBD and urban evasion made facing her a breeze. Even better, you don't trap the hooks which is one of the bigger complaints and I guess I can understand that, but even then, how many times do you need to be told to crouch when you're unhooked before you get the message?
I get why a fair few hate her, but I do love the old gal popping up from the ground like a violent daisy <3
-
Eh? Has someone been licking pustule petals?
The game is not over for me until that wagon Jane is Draggin' gets over the threshold. Until then, I'm still possible fodder for the hook. However I also have every opportunity to pull back a bad game if I'm sneaky / clever / altruistic enough. Killers have a chance to utilize their map mobilization or end game builds.
Being altruistic does not have to end in a death either. They literally made it easier to locate NOED, and getting someone off hook who's been camped is almost second nature to most teams smart enough to work in tandem to save someone that last time.
Doing five gens doesn't equal the right to an escape, and you're still in danger until you step out of the map, so just act accordingly.
Honestly if you dislike the endgame so much, look no further than to the survivors who thought it was funny to hide on the map to cause the killer to dc, or the boring, stubborn hatch standoffs that were never satisfying.
-
I wasn't around when it first came out. So when I came back from hiatus just as Project W came out, I thought it looked pretty damn cool. Then I got in a chase with Wesker, ran to the house, and it took me about 2 seconds to realize "Awwww crap, I'm dead" because I could barely see anything. I don't think they should brighten it too much, but enough to not be able to walk past a generator and not see the damn thing.

Seriously crappy. Imagine playing your best and then as soon as two team mates are tunnelled to death, the game just ends. If something like that ever got implemented, I'd quit that day. I've been in matches where there's 2 of us left and one of us runs the killer for the entire time it takes the other to smash out the last couple gens. Sometimes it's enough, and sometimes it's not - but everyone went down fighting. This whole suggestion just feels like a way to punish the players who play correctly on behalf of the ones who don't.
This. Chances are the people you find first aren't the ones busting their butts behind the scenes. For instance, I might not have been caught and hooked, but in the time it's taken two survivors to get hooked twice I've taken multiple protection hits, done one or two gens, and done a fair chunk of the rescuing as that's what my build is tailored to. Should I then have the match automatically stopped because fortnitekid didn't know how to loop or some unlucky soul had the misfortune of getting found quickly after being unhooked? That's not even factoring in the obvious tunnel tactic that will eventually be meta.
You can explain how cool and reasonable your ideas are until you are blue in the face, and heck, you may even make some good points. But at the end of the day, a suggestion like this would turn away more than half the survivor player base because who wants to play a game that can be snatched out from under them no matter how well they are playing?
Even a low-tier killer can tunnel two people out of the game, you'd kill your playerbase for the want of not having to bother chasing down the last survivors or to avoid the (As far as i have seen in 4 years of playing) rare circumstance of people playing immersed.

Five nights at Freddys. Never got the hype and I think the aesthetic would be awful in this game.
Scooby Doo. Loved it as a kid, still don't want to see a cartoon ghost Knight running around the maps.
Hannibal Lecter. Just don't. Some characters are better off not running around the map and looking silly.

Head on didn't work for me I hit 3 head ons and 3 pallet stuns and still didn't get the challenge.
That's odd, it seemed to work for me. I got 3 head ons and a blast mine hit, so I can't really say why it didn't work for you.

If they added the Nostromo or even the the Derelict on LV426...imma die the first 5 games just to get a chance to explore. Not sure if it'll ever happen. But man it would be the first licensed killer I'd get really excited about.

Same, I'm very lenient as killer. I'll even give them unsafe unhooks. I pause a few feet away from them for long enough to unhook, then I keep on chasing. Is it practical ? No. Does it put me at a disadvantage ? Sometimes.
But is it really f*cking funny ? Absolutely. Killer waiting in line politely ! Comedy is more important than scores haha.
I'm so glad we don't see killer names to till the end, I'd die over and over just trying to hug you because yes...funny is sometimes better than efficiency XD

I had to do this challenge with head on, blast mine and a friend. I felt really frikken bad for the killer after, and they were on console so i couldn't even apologize for being a pain in the butt all match. Most i could do was give her end game hook :( I don like feeling like i have to troll a killer for a challenge, but the 1 perk self care challenge was just miserable in solo q.

Because, even though it was never a strong perk that gave a lot of value, WHAT it delivered in spades was outright fun and glee. The sound of a blast mine, this low-pitch rumble and a killers grunts of pain, thats the biggest single endorphine drop this game can deliver. My main survivor build of the last couple of month consisted of Head On/ Quick n Quiet/ Blast Mine / Windows of Opportunity. Its not that strong, but I always had loads of fun, even if I ended up being sacrificed. And being such a niche and suboptimal, yet fun perk, all its enthusiastic users were pretty bummed when the last patch hit and nerfed this out of nowhere. Zapped by a bolt of lightning out of the clear, blue sky.
This is the exact build I'm using now while trying to get the stupid 4 stun in one match challenge. And you are correct, there is just something bloody delightful about hearing that thing go off in the background. Right now, however, I'm lucky if I get one use out of the perk. It just takes too long to set up and becomes even harder when I seem to be aa homing beacon for potatoes in a chase with the killer lol.
Sure blast mine might not become a new 'meta', but there are those of us with builds that use it and the comments here were right. There simply wasn't any need for it to be nerfed at all, even if it was a "bug" in the first place. Whats the point of shaking up the survivor meta if you make the alternative perks next to useless?
-
LMAO
So the game becomes a toss-up between which two people get hardcore tunneled out of every match?
Don't deny it, we know damn well if such a fantasy were to come true, most killers would go for that 2k tunnel and you can wave bye bye to the remaining survivors.
Silliest suggestion I have heard this week.
-
Yes. Not so much getting kicked out, but we keep getting errors when we party up or try KYF. The only work around we found was restarting the internet, which worked, but i don't know why because I'm about as technically inclined as a potato.
-
Pretty sure there is a hatch escape challenge in the archives too.
Regardless, how a player chooses to play is entirely on the player, not the devs, and sadly, you will occasionally be sacrificed for the hatch. However I will say, this has become rare for me in my games, usually, everyone is super altruistic, so I'm not too mad when it does happen, and if the game is a loss and I see the other dude has a chance for the hatch, I'm gonna let the entity take me and wish them luck, maybe even cheer them on in spectate if they were a really cool teammate.

I mean if he really is playing an m1 killer in high mmr, what can he do? You get pretty much any coldwind map you are screwed. The survivors just have to split and play efficiently. If all survivors are playing optimally how does an m1 killer deal with it. Survivors can and will bring everything at their disposal to win. If survivors are genuinely good players on good maps then there is no reason to go down to a good portion of the low-mid tier cast before 3 gens pop, that's just how it is.
Though to be clear at least for the last 6 months, bhvr has not been pampering survivors. Though also to be fair they were for the 6 months before that lol.
I don't have an issue with his play style. I just think it's ridiculous to trot out the "Devs favor survivors" horse that has already been shot twice, beaten, rolled down a hill, and then beaten some more over the last few years. We are continuously told to adapt, so we do, and we still get blamed for 'abusing mechanics' instead of maybe some killers realising they have to adapt too in order to get better results.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Oh wait so now we're complaining survivors adapted after they were all told to adapt or quit? Damn
Yup, pretty much a case of, adapt....until you adapt too much and become competent. Besides, with all the gen regression perks, aura reading perks, exposure perks and killers being given a boost to their base....don't you feel 'pampered'?
Let me be clear, I don't have an issue with the changes made, I never used the 'meta' perks, i do well with a utility build, and I can learn to work around the new changes to killer. I'm just unsurprised and frankly uninspired that not even a month or so in and we're back to "Developers baby survivors and killers don't get a fair shot"
Perhaps change the record and do what we as survivors have been told to do since these changes became apparent.
-
The only time I really use nod is when the killer and i are in a sportsmanship standoff where I'm offering hook and they are offering gen / hatch.

Ok, so we keep rewarding camping, tunneling, slugging & farming killers, and also whenever the game is bugged (every Wesker game I play) and cannot move, it´s ok for us to wait 15 minutes because of that?
I know I´m not the only one with the idea, that´s why I made the post, the fact that I am a player gives me the right to communicate the game´s faults, so you don´t worry about it and keep being a conformist, go ahead.
Lol. If taking my lumps in a game and learning to combat difficult mechanics rather than screwing over 4 other players makes me a conformist, I'm cool with that. And yes you are certainly entitled to put your point across, but the wonderful thing about forums is that EVERYONE is allowed to have an opinion on a posted subject, isn't that great?! :D
-
If you want to play a game the way YOU want, play a single player game, or eat the penalty you earn by DCing. Games not going to change just because you handed over some money.
-
Many seem to think that they have control or a say in what you do. They do not. You go to town on that totem and get your points, for all you know you just cleansed the last totem on the map and saved everyone from NOED at the endgame.
And cleansing totems does not throw the game.

Funny thing - your Boldness score is very low. Altruism and Objective are important, but Boldness is the real measure of how much value a survivor provided their team. Anyone with a brain can sit on a gen with PT and hit skill checks or sneak in for a safe unhook; it takes an actually good survivor to both buy time for their team and to recognize "hey, my teammates are in trouble and I'm not, I should go take the heat so that they stay in the game longer."
If everyone got out because your teammates were running the killer successfully, then this whole thing about the killer picking favorites is a moot point. If most everyone died because your teammates were running the killer while you sat in the back doing gens, and you did not try to divert the killer when those teammates were on their last legs, that is partially your fault and a very valid reason for the killer to want to reward a teammate who wasn't you.
And before you jump down my throat for being a killer main or whatever (again...) while these are the judgements I'll make as a killer, this is very much coming from the perspective of a survivor. I'm not impressed by gen jockeys. Sure, it's part of what any team needs to function and I like that much more than teammates who do nothing at all, but it doesn't make you the MVP. True altruism isn't points farming, it's throwing yourself in danger to try and keep your teammates alive.
As a complete survivor main, I can second this without hesitation. Getting objectives done is great, but there are some times where the best thing you can do to play well, is take aggro and give some poor 2 hook state soul a chance to stay in the game longer.
-
I try to take time to leave a nice comment like "Great chainsaw control" or "Aww man you had me dead to rights on that hill". I worry that GG can be taken as being sarcastic. I always feel bad when i can't say something nice to a console killer though as there have been some real skilled players i have enjoyed going up against.
-
An interesting idea. Personally, I would prefer a mechanic like this to activate only when there were 2 survivors left as 3 can still be a force to be reckoned with. There would definitely have to be some sort of double edged sword to this though, not to mention BHVR would have to figure out how it interacted with perks so that it didn't completely cuck the killers regression perks. Something that could be worth looking into, but would need some very fine detail work done to make it fair.

The thread was inspired by the scenario he described. Working with killer. Playing favorites. This is why I'm saying kill everyone. Somehow this evolved into not letting anyone get hatched, but that wasn't the original premise of the thread. It's just a solution to avoid these issues. Kill everyonle
Except that your very first para is discussing the simple act of letting the last survivor go, not the scenario depicted here so...you can't blame anyone for having an adverse reaction. Not to mention, all killers no longer giving hatch is not going to stop the toxic type players from picking a survivor to work with or having a friend as a survivor just get off scott free.
Why punish the few nice gestures killers get to give, because of the few that like to be butt hats?
Just report the killers that actively work with survivors to throw the game for other people and move onto the next match.
We have enough bad blood between survivors and killers, and very few ways to communicate good sportsmanship beyond the normal gameplay?
I get you perhaps being frustrated about survivors working with killers when there are still other survivors in the match, but complaining about the last man standing getting hatch is...well it's kinda spiteful really.

@Rudjohns said:
Okay guys, what about this situation:
2 survivors die at 5/4/3 gens, it doesnt matter, the game is already lost for the survivors. So the killer "befriends" one of the 2 left and hunts the 4th one. The killer downs the 4th survivor and hook them, only for both the 3rd survivor and the killer farm the 4th survivor out until they are dead, and the killer let the other escape. Is this considered "working with the killer" and is it bannable?
PS: I has happened to me, I was the 4th
This is considered working with the killer. The killer and survivor are working in tandem to make the other survivors' game miserable and unwinnable. But allowing the last survivor, whom you have dead to rights, to go down the hatch is just a generous and often fun interaction between the two sides which is always lovely in a game that all but breaths toxicity. It literally cannot be called working with the killer because there are NO SURVIVORS to screw over, only the killer's leniency or desire to finish off the last guy.
I never go into a match expecting to get the hatch, but it's always a wonderful surprise when they do allow it for whatever reason. I literally got hatch last night because, and I quote "U R Mad thicc"
Of all the complaints to be made about dbd. Complaining about the last survivor getting hatch is a bit of a wet blanket move, and i don't see killers stopping anytime soon since it effects literally nothing except a few blood points.
-
Honestly, I'm waiting to see what happens in the next few months. I'm none too bothered about the meta shake up since I ran all sorts of perks before it came along and none of them were among the dreaded 3 or 4 survivor perks that drove people nuts. But watching this huge shift and then seeing people STILL crying for more nerfs to either side, instead of adapting, does worry me that the devs will move the goal posts again until this game gets stripped of any fun whatsoever for either side.
It seems the very idea of an inconvenience for either side, is justification to call for it to be nerfed in case the 'good players' abuse it....which never made sense to me.
So I guess I'm optimistic enough to stay a while and see what happens for now.
-
Yes, we had an ace whom i shall lovingly call 'Jorts'. It was one of those rare times when EVERYONE was on form despite being solo, but Jorts was glorious. Ran the killer like a champ, safe hook saves, no time wasting self caring in the corner. Even recognized that he needed to run to me for that sweet, sweet We'll Make It healing. One of the better games I've had in a sea of camping and potatoes.
-
Awww you doll! I was able to finally rake in the good perks on janes web <3

I'd love for some more older characters, so far we only have Bill. What about Aunt Maggie, the pet groomer, a special perk akin to Leon's flash grenades....'Pocket fluff!'
I wanna see Grandma Elsie legging it across a corn map in her slippers, can stun a camping killer after 2 successful hook saves, by giving them a scolding!
Yeah sorry....I'm a bit weird and tend to enjoy the ridiculous....

I've been maining The Twins for a few days now, been having a ton of fun playing around with builds to see whats possible with them, but it feels like I win A LOT. Like, A LOT and I'm not sure if its that I'm really good, if the Survivors are really bad, or if people just see them so rarely that they don't really know how to play against them. Sometimes I get veteran survivors who know how to waste my time pretty well, and I'm 100% sure they have to be using comms to be able to do what they do, but other than that its a straight slaughter. Just wanted to know what other people's feelings were towards them.
Honestly, I think it could be the latter + your skill as you are trying lots of different builds and likely narrowing one down. I very rarely see Twins,. They are like buses, won't see one for months, and then I get 2 or three in a row, and suddenly I'm forgetting how to dodge and stomp at the same time. lol
-
I'm a Timmy / Jimmy. I run fun builds that would still be deemed useful and my 'win' condition is getting 3 survivors out safely, to the point that i will literally do a facehugger impression on the nurses face to get you out the exit gate.
-
I'd have to disagree with this strongly. There are plenty of ways to ruin a slugger's day; one only involves not feeding the slug.
Look, I understand that some high mobility killers run slugging builds, and yes it can be difficult to counter but it can be countered and there aren't nearly enough full on slug games to justify what amounts to permanent Unbreakable. If you're 4 man slugged, go crawl in opposite directions on the map, one of you might well make it to the hatch, or at least you might make the killer nervous enough to hook you.
Slugs are boring, but they are a strategy within the game that some killers have build's around, and we have even more ways via perks, than we had a year or so ago.
Sorry, but if I end up in a 4 man slug, its usually because myself and the team weren't being careful enough, or the killer is just that damn good. Asking to be able to keep coming back from that just reinforces mistakes or punishes killers for a tactic that is legitimate, if not particularly fun for the slugged side.
-
The one and only time I ever face camped.
I was a brand new killer player, had only a few matches in my pocket before this crap show landed in my lap. This was before MMR, when matchmaking could get wonky with a rank 20 bringing along 2 or 3 red rank friends.
These guys destroyed my poor hag on her very own swamp map. Gens flew by, I lost so many chases because I simply hadn't gotten used to the camera movement and keeping my eyes on survivors while they 360'd me (this was also on console just to make it that touch harder)
Flashlight blinds every few minutes, hooks sabo'd, tebagged into infinity....basically a bunch of little Ochido's on steroids. The gens were done, the gates were being opened and i finally FINALLY managed to down a David who seemed to treat teabagging as a power up at every pallet and window. I admit, i was frustrated, pissed and yeah...i face camped that dude HARD.
Nowadays I can accept if a killer camps at endgame, especially if they have had a rotten match. Even so, once the disproportionate rage subsided, I felt really bad as I hated being camped myself, and i am a bit of a soft hearted mush.
-
Can we get silly with this? Imma get silly with this....
Demogorgon + Hag - Demihag
You receive fewer traps to place and your traps lose their disorienting effect as Hag, but if a survivor triggers one, demi pops out of the ground and holds them in place unless they can pry him off. (maybe a wee bit of trapper influence there too) If the survivor can't get out, Demo pulls the survivor under and flings them out at another trap spot, injured. Traps can only be destroyed as you would Demo's portals.
*"They popped out of the ground....LIKE DAISIES!" ~ Mushu*
Bubba + Victor = Bromance
Every little brother needs some time with his friends! Victor rides atop Bubba's head Ratatouille style. The Bromance starts the trial with 4 tokens. Victor can correct a chainsaw bump mid chase for a total of 4 times per match. In the event of a Bubba tantrum, Victor will launch himself at the offending target.
*"We didn't even realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun" ~ Winnie the Pooh*
-
Ffs, you can't lift your leg to fart around here without someone declaring it killer / survivor sided.
It was a bug, it needed to be fixed, the devs don't then have to find something to give compensation.
-
I've said this before in a similar thread a while back. For me, its the fact that her facial expression (even more so pre-touch up) makes her look like she is perpetually trying to work out how 2+2 = 4
-
I'll be honest, in my personal experience at least, avoiding getting 3 genned is mostly on survivors.
Some big brain killers can herd survivors enough to create a 3 gen strat, but switching up sides, getting dangerous gens out of the way, and keeping an eye on where gens have been completed, is down to the survivors themselves. It's also not impossible to break, just hard, which is why it's best to avoid doing gens too close together when you have the upper hand at the start of the match.
If i see my team working on one end of the map, I'll take my butt on down to the other end and the opposite side, or risk getting the one or two dangerous mid gens out of the way so the killer has to move from one end of the map to the other in order to put pressure on remaining gens. This is really not something that has to be looked into alongside camping and tunneling.
-
Lol, I wouldn't touch the button. But I would watch someone else do it, then laugh sadly as both sides declared a newly balanced DBD as survivor/killer sided. C'mon, if you've been here for more than a couple of months, you know it would happen.
You could hand this community sheer perfection and they'd still find fault or blame their failures on bad design / biased devs.
-
I doubt it would ever be implemented because you can't have nice things in DBD without it becoming very quickly toxic. I've seen the end game chat and I can only imagine what would happen if you gave some of those people some form of voice communication.
If they ever did implement it, I'd hope they would at least give an opt-out option. I don't really want to hear FortniteKid68 rage over a walkie-talkie.

I can't really say I have any in game killer behavior reasons that cause me to DC. If we're getting our butts handed to us, we're getting our butts handed to us, simple as that, move on to the next match. If I'm frustrated I simply stop at the end of the last match and play something else. Even if I'm being camped I'll just hang there singing 'hooked on a feeling' to myself and quietly cursing the players that waste this golden gen-time opportunity trying to get those sweet sweet unhook points.
The ONLY time I sacrifice on a hook or even more rarely DC, is always due to my team rather than the killer. You want to sandbag me, or have your 3 man SWF body block me in the corner, hack, or do the stupid unhook spam....I'm gone. I'll feel a little regret for the killer losing points, but I like to think I make up for that when I insist on a killer getting death hook points if they wish to farm.
Perks and allowed strategies don't cause my very rare DC's, other survivors do. Though I won't say that my experience answers your question on a larger scale because we all know the multitude of DC excuses.
-
Play how you damn well want to play, ignore the chat and ignore the heavily biased opinions that tell you a perk / addon / item/ power/ strategy is 'cheating' 'abuse' or 'bullying.'
People will always ALWAYS keep trying to move the goal posts or twist their opinion to make the other side the bad guy until the game is reduced to a one-on-one rolled-up sock fight (socks can't hurt feelings right?), and you can guarantee the forums would be filled with people arguing about which side's socks have the aerodynamic advantage.
People will ALWAYS complain when they aren't winning, and they will ALWAYS tell you that their own made up rules don't apply to themselves because of reasons A to Z.
I don't care what side you play, what resources at your disposal you bring, or even if I win or lose. Have fun your way and damn everybody else because honestly, you could serve free wins with doughnuts at the exit gates and someone would still complain that you got the wrong flavor. Just play the damn game and have your own fun. Best advice I can offer.

Check for basement placement, stay the frick away from that area, play as normal till the first down, hide in a locker before he hooks, and gen rush if he face camps.
