What exploit? I never encountered a "ruin exploit" in any game when ruin was up for longer than it should've been...
Never heard of this before.
And that should stay so.. Hopefully it does not spread like wildfire

Corrupt Intervention is a LOVELY perk but I don't like using one time use perks. Also Surge is perfect too.
I also cannot use Dying Light as it crashes my game every time :(

@brokedownpalace said:
If it's an exploit then it's one that the devs don't care about since it's been in the game since Ruin's release and they haven't fixed it or made it punishable.
Gen tapping takes longer. It would be faster to power through the skill checks or just find Ruin.
I don't know for how long it has been in the game now, but I think it only got discovered recently... But who knows?

@OMagic_ManO said:
I don't rely on it, sucks man but I rather use Thrilling Tremors, PGTW, Thanatophobia and Dying Light.
I use corrupt intervention in the meantime, it is better than I thought!

I would really like a werewolf, like in the series "Teen Wolf" (go watch it ;))

Because the only perk that can counter it is spine chill out of the one hundred and something. It also allows free grabs. But you can go to the “Spirit is not OP” discussion and see people argue over prayer beads.
- You can use Spine chill
- You can use OoO
- You can gentap when killer is not chasing someone
- On Rotten Fields map you can see the corn moving, on other maps the grass
That's the problem. Survivors just think they should be able to work on gens non-stop if killer is not near. They should start to play tactical and not gen-rush because that's what this specific Addon punishes excellently.
-
Why exactly does Prayer Beards need a nerf? There are plenty of perks to counter it.. And in a chase inside Terror Radius it does not make a difference
-
Stridor. Bye-bye Iron Will gamerzz

MYC isn’t so clear cut, he’s the cool down in shorter but the tier 3 gives you a full minute to down them. Making your way back to the unhooker and downing then in 40 seconds can be tough if they have one decent loop/pallet.
You are using MYC on the wrong killer(s) then.

I'm just playing around when I mentioned the survivor rule book, y'all don't need to follow da rules :)
Why do the devs don't put it in the Tutorial section of the game ;) (Maybe on April fool's day) xD
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Not everyone's going to agree on what's OP.
Let's say right now all the perks, items, add-ons, and abilities can be placed on a pyramid, with the most powerful things at the top. Once the top of the pyramid is removed, then people will look at the next level on the pyramid, saying "Well, these are the strongest things in the game, so they're OP; they should be removed." And so on. It would never end.
Why not flatten the whole pyramid? Everything perfectly balanced.
-
What do you mean? The FPS are still horror to me ;)

But... but... it's in the survivor rule book... :(
And the only (!) rule in the killer's rulebook is to:
#1 Do not give a f* about the survivor's rulebook.
-
You can get it just by being right behind the survivor and charging. Like Billy's chainsaw
-
From what I can see, they are trying (!) to reduce CPU usage because that's the most logical way. But from my understanding the whole process just came to a halt as moving over to dedicated servers brings more CPU relieve than complicated optimization.
GPU optimization on the other hand is a whole different caliber so I don't expect them to do very much in that area.

The measurement of a good killer isn't by kills, but by hooks. Camping isn't a strategy and it's cute you think that it is. Camping in any game just indicates that someone is bad and perhaps afraid. The game rewards more hooks opposed to more kills and the game actually punishes you for camping hooks, fyi. You literally lose piping points or experience. If you wanna occupy survivors time and get them off gens then play a good killer and apply pressure, slug, etc.
But when a survivor is close to the hook, you do NOT(!!!) lose emblem score! I can confirm this.
-
Yes. The first thing I did anyway is to wipe MacOS and install Windows 10. I sometimes play it in Uni! :)

The fact that any sad little thing in human skin bitches and whines about which perks you use in DBD on both sides is hilarious in it’s own sad way- use whatever the hell you want to your black hearts content Xx
You know.. using the "right" combination of Insidious, NOED, Franklins Demise and Knock out I get at least one survivor DC every match.. I don't understand :'( They say this combination is "unfair"
-
I also often get stuck on things as killer where there is no obstacle! For example in Autoheaven map down the stairs to basement you get stuck with tall killer carrying survivors or at the excavator with the car where the claw arm hangs overhead the car... really frustrating.
Also you can't chainsaw through the school bus with billy
-
You can just body-block the other dull totem from other survivor. I don't understand your concerns..

If you like more info then yes tier 1 is better.
Of course more info is better in ANY circumstance.
-
It's the same thing with Make your Choice. The dev's simply messed up the Perk tiers (wonder if by accident or intentional?). Never level up Make your choice to level 2 or 3 !!!
-
Using NOED is forbidden under ANY circumstances as of this time according to the official Survivor's rulebook. (Have you not seen Samination's video parody? ;))

@Mister_xD said:
currently queue times for both sides are very high.
the devs did confirm there is an issue with the matchmaking system, so i guess it has something to do with that.
it should get hotfixed soon
They did not. They only said they found the problem with the rank variation, not queue time!!
-
@SeekerOfSouls said:
Match making is definitely wonky, but I think it’s more than that possibly.
DBD is free currently, maybe it’s not all instances, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some higher rank doing SWF with his/her friend trying out the game for free.
In my opinion, greater than 10 ranks difference should not be able to play survive with friends together. Too unfair to all other players.
-
Say it as it is, Dying Light, even with Thana is a million times worse than active Ruin.
- Even missing one Ruin skillcheck gives you nearly 9% slowdown on overall gen progression. Exploding gen even more.
- And you don't have to build up stacks.
- And survivors most likely waste more time searching for totems then Dying light + Thana would ever give you.
- And the Obsession does not get a significant healing speed boost (why is that even in the game).
- And you don't have to care about hooking / sacrificing the obsession.
- And have one more perkslot for a far better gen-slowdown perk (POP)
- If you use pop, you get instant 25 % slowdown + ongoing regression on gen. Without building up stacks.
-
Finally someone who summarizes the ongoing problems for the devs to make a TODO list (or re-order their current). Thank you!

Rarely ever see anyone have OoO on, and from my experience in watching high rank killers, they rarely see OoO as well.
I can only tell you my experience.
-
Matchmaking is broken at the moment.. and devs try to fix it for at least 3 weeks now, with absolutely no change since then. I don't know what they are doing, but most matches I get are really stupid at this point. Not having any fun whatsoever.

If you have 0 TR in a chase at a jungle gym, they'll never know where you're coming from. Haven't you ever seen Monto's 0TR inside and outside of a chase builds? Generally they include addons that reduce TR as well. Pre-Rework Freddy had one, he could see anyone's aura from anywhere, for example.
If you have 0 TR at a jungle gym in a chase, and the survivor has Object of Obsession (quite common these days, at least for me) they can see you the entire time, making mindgames impossible.

the only thing i HATE about the new DS is the timer.
due to that, the surviors have nothing to fear for the next 60 seconds and do whatever they want.
the most annoying part is, when one of them rescues another one and then both the rescuer and the rescued have DS - its a lose lose situation for the killer, especially if the one you chase immediately jumps into a locker .-.
imo there should be a set requirement for the perk to be active. why not this?
"the perk is active, as long as you are the last person to be rescued from a hook". bam. timer gone, killers only get punished for tunneling, the killer cant slug to wait out the timer, imo its just much much better.
Have to admit, they should really just made DS an anti-tunnel perk and promote slugging. The thing is DS should protect survivors if killer tunnels, but sadly the survivor with DS is now actively seeking the killer's attention!
-
Why does the Demogorgon have to go through portals first in order to activate the killer instinct reading on survivors around it? That costs precious time.
-

That's irrelevant to SS. He's so tilted he just dug through my profile to necro a 4 month old thread.
Hey, at least you got your answer and confirmed by a dev. It is very important the players using Haunted Ground + NOED fully understand the perks they are using! :)
-
Yes. Costs as much as two characters I think
-
I'm just glad they adjusted the pallet braking sound volume.. Jesus Christ thanks
-
You can hear the clowns "cough" double the distance when he vaults than Bamboozle xD
-
If you are not spot on with the lunge and willing to take risks, underwhelming. Portals are a gimmick, at most. Even freddy has a faster / easier teleport.

@Huntar said:
It's unclear whether you know this from your responses, but you can hit a survivor in a trap to slug them without having to pick them up or wait for them to free themselves. I know you'd prefer a hook, but you still have options.
I'm a killer main who hates DS just as much as you, but it's a perk doing what it's intended to. If you grab the survivor, they get to stab you. That's what the perk does. It's kinda like complaining that BBQ lets you see survivor auras when you hook someone.
Which killer would complain about the aura reading of BBQ?
-
I got lots of crashes with the new update. Maybe that's it why killer disconnects from game
-
It's the matchmaking system. Depending on your region, it's completely busted.
You could check with some tools how many killers and survivors are in your region currently (in lobbies, waiting). Then just choose a side where you will get a game quicker! :D Hope that helps.
-
Why don't require adept to be executed at Rank 1? Would make the achievement feel like you achieved something..
-
The consistency argument does not hold as there are many game mechanics that are inconsistent in some way.
In reality, nobody can give a good argument why it should be that way, because there is none. And intentionally having to slug a survivor is not fun for BOTH players. I think it's detrimental to the game experience and immersion (whatever is left anyway).

Slugged survivor is worth more than a hooked one.
As I said, you did not read my last sentence as it seems...
-
That above gives you best visual quality and clarity combined with competitive advantage from Red Stain (Lightsource in Unreal Engine is not made dynamic on LOW).
-
On PC, you can individually tweak
- Texture quality
- Anti aliasing (smoothness)
- Effects quality
- View distance
- Shadow quality
- Post Process Quality
- Foliage (grass etc.) quality
I tend to turn up Textures to Ultra (little to no impact on performance, great visual enhancement), Anti Aliasing OFF (softness goes away), Effects on LOW (Tremendous performance boost), View distance ULTRA, Shadows OFF, Post Process OFF, Foliage OFF
These are best settings, try them :D
