With the recent ama confirming that freddy is on the list of killers that behavior wants to refine, I want to know, how would you want your favorite dream demon to be reworked?

For me personally I’ve always found og freddy, despite all his flaws, to be much more fateful and interesting than the current version. I feel like a return to freddy only being able to harm you when you’re sleeping would be much more engaging than him existing in both worlds (obviously though without the slower gen speeds and stuff). Adding more tricks and traps for the dream world would be cool. Like maybe fake generators, or trapping lockers so they open up and pour blood everywhere as a sort of jumpscare/alarm thing for the killer. Making the dream world more threatening would encourage people to play around it more. as right now the dream world is so minor there’s barely any real threat encouraging you to wake up. Also i’d love to see robert englund freddy but I dont want to get my hopes up.

No rework, they should just give him a QOL for his current kit and nothing more, I hope old freddy stays buried and dead for good, never to return.

Also you definitely shouldn't get your hopes up for Robert Englund Freddy coming into the game since the license dbd has is not the one Robert's Freddy falls under.

  • Only if Wesker remains killswitched for the entirety of the event as well.

  • The only one who could possibly get something would be maybe Onryo, everyone else is pretty unlikely, especially Freddy.

  • Your entire internet would have been booted offline if it was a ddos.

It's not just about enjoyment of the killer players, the interaction for both sides is a big deal.

I'm talking about the experience i have both as when playing as and against those killers.

If more people like those killers then more power to them, however you cannot force anyone to enjoy something they simply just don't find fun because fun & enjoyment is once again subjective in the end.

Yet that doesn't change the fact that majority of killers like powerful yet interactive killers and that is reflected in how much they are picked. They are the most healthy simply.

Good for them that they like such killers, however not everybody enjoys the same thing and i simply cannot enjoy those killers no matter what.

What do you find fun? Basic m1 killers you can loop forever? Lmao

Nemesis & Pyramid Head probably the most.

  • That doesn't really change that i don't think they're fun, which is why i wrote ''imo'' in my other message.

  • Fun & Enjoyable are heavily subjective things and quite frankly those killers just aren't fun imo, especially not Blight.

  • Map is fine, could use some loop adjustment but overall is fine, it's flexible for mobility killers and stealth killers from my experience.

New killer is pretty good when mastered, only the EMPs being overtuned at the moment is holding him back, however once they're nerfed, the killer will feel better to play as. Singularity works extremely well in narrow corridors or in open spaces with little cover when placing more than one.

    Don't care about the Survivor.

  • I mean he ain't wrong.

  • This ain't it, chief.

  • Other than some loop adjustments, it seems fine enough from my experience.

I swear some of you don't understand fundamental copyright law...

Look at Fortnite, Overwatch, and Fall guys, all of them do licensed skins, and all of them are limited some are limited to a single day, BHVR kept these skins reserved for us for an entire year, you had a whole YEAR to purchase them, but we still gotta complain because it's leaving now. The skins aren't even leaving, they're just leaving the store, it's just the same as any other limited-edition skin. I'm slightly disappointed that we continue to paint BHVR in a bad light when it comes to licenses, BHVR even confirmed that the stranger things license was all on Netflix's end, they even contacted Netflix asking if they could get their license back, and Netflix left them on read. it's not like BHVR wants to get rid of licenses, if a permanent option was available they'd go with it in a heartbeat, and that's why we basically have ghost face for good

You're pretty spot on with everything you just said, also i've always wondered what the devs would do if they couldn't use the ghostface mask anymore, would they still use the character but give him some original mask instead like how MTV did with the Lakewood Slasher when they couldn't do Ghostface at the time?

  • Once EMPs gets nerfed, i'll start play him more.

After the ST debacle, you would think they are now aware that every collab they made in the past and in the future has a chance of bringing FOMO on them and try to avoid that again. It seems they have poor sight, that AoT collab lasted barely one year.

What makes you think they weren't aware that something like this would happen? They've worked with licenses for about 30 years now since they've made games for other companies as well as working with licenses for their own games. Situations like these happens and quite frankly it's just the nature of how these things are, to suggest that bhvr wasn't aware of something like this seems rather naive of you to believe.

Also by your logic, we might as well just stop bringing in licenses altogether while we're at it since they could potentially be pulled one day even though it's one of the biggest appeals this game has for many people.

Not really anything that SO MANY OTHER outfits have. Bunny Feng, EVERY non set dress, Yui's community cosmetic pants have mismatched skin tone at the top that visibly looks glitched, Feng's halloween outfit, like 80% of Meg's cosmetics do I need to continue? We all got to use Yun-Jin's skin non linked before during the bug eras and all the pieces work perfectly fine lol

Edit: Btw Konami confirmed they didnt ask for the sklns to be sets and it was BHVRs decision for Cheryl's rare cosmetics lol

Intentions also plays a big role in the matter as well and the fact of the matter is that those cosmetics were designed with the intent and purpose to be mixable while linked outfits are not.

In fact, if cosmetic pieces that were designed to be mixed and matched with other cosmetics have things like mismatching skin tone or any clipping or gaps issues with other mixable cosmetics, then that is something that can be reported in the bug section for bhvr to fix since they're intended to fit with other mixable cosmetics and not have any glaring visual issues, they've already fixed cosmetic clipping & skin tone mismatching more than once in previous bugfix patch notes.

Where as linked set cosmetics on the other hand are only created with the express intent and purpose to be worn with a specific set of cosmetics only, meaning they're not designed around the idea of fitting other cosmetics and therefore seperately is more likely to cause issues, just like with the torso in the image below.

Also outfits like Bunny Feng & Oni's Cursed Fate outfit would have 100% been linked sets if they came out today, however since they came out before the introduction of the feature, they avoided being so.

We all got to use Yun-Jin's skin non linked before during the bug eras and all the pieces work perfectly fine lol

Oh sure, because this here definitely looks like it works perfectly fine with one another.

    uaV20r5.png

Also i counted at least 5 other leg cosmetics that would have had potentially major clipping issues with the torso, just like the leg cosmetic in the image.

Edit: Btw Konami confirmed they didnt ask for the sklns to be sets and it was BHVRs decision for Cheryl's rare cosmetics lol

This is exactly what Konami was asked on their support page as well as what they answered with, i'm going to tell you exactly why this neither confirms nor proves anything of what you claim.

First off: The people who respond on support pages to questions like these are PR/support workers, employees who knows nothing about the license deal between Konami & BHVR itself and all the details that's included in it, they're the same kind of people you'll find on any other game's support page, including DBD's. All license deals and by extention any legal work in general, is not shared with anyone except the people who's jobs qualifies them to know, meaning support & PR guys would know nothing about those things, which includes whether or not both Pyramid Head & Cheryl's cosmetics has to be contractually linked or not since only the higher ups that actually work with those things knows about those details, and they're obviously not gonna tell anything about their contracts to the public since those are highly confidential.

Secondly: All that the support worker replied with is that DBD is controlled by BHVR themselves and that other than the Silent Hill aspect/content that is licensed from Konami to Behaviour, they don't have anything to do with that game in general since it's not a Konami game.

All of that is all true, Konami doesn't have any legal rights over DBD as a whole other than the Silent Hill content that bhvr has legally and contractually licensed into the game, content which contractually has terms and conditions that has to be agreed between both companies on what things bhvr can and cannot do with said content that they've licensed into the game and that BHVR has to get approval from them everytime for pretty much everything Silent Hill related, all from gameplay reworks, flavor text changes, bringing in new skins and especially how those skins are allowed to be sold, which Konami 100% has a say in since it's still their Intellectual Property in the end, just like every other license holder who has control and a say over their respective IPs that BHVR license into the game and how they're allowed to use them.

With all of the above mentioned, nothing in the support guy's reply suggests that the license agreement with Konami doesn't stipulate that the approved cosmetics have to remain as sets.

  • Were you using a Biopod's camera when the game ended?

Thanks for the suggestions here, we do have a few changes for the EMP's in particular ready for an upcoming hotfix. We'll be looking at reducing the EMP crates themselves to 4 per map, the generation time increased to 100s (currently 90s), and Survivors will also be slowed whilst charging an EMP by 10% as well as increasing the EMP charge time itself to 2.5s from the current 2s.

Duration of the pod disabling from an EMP will also be decreased down to 45s. There's also some score changes as we noticed Devious points were a little on the low side.

    How do those sound?

Maybe make EMP charge time be changed to 4 seconds instead of 2.5 seconds.

Video Horror Society just shut down because of practices like this. There is no one clever enough to take a lesson from its failure.

You could have stopped writing after "would be better for sure", there is no legitimate defence for using a Fear of missing Out tactic. It is only a detriment to everyone, full stop. And we deserve better than this.

I just don't see any difference between this and the previous anniversary cosmetics for 3 years in a row now other than a price tag and that these outfits at least returns next year compared to older cosmetics.

Overall i genuinely do not care about exclusive cosmetics anymore, not since they made the Howling Ground & Summer BBQ event cosmetics free for everyone even though there was people who actually played to earn those cosmetics originally.

  • @BarnesFlam said:

...and Feng and Ghostface's outfits are time-limited, will be removed once the event ends.

Great way to make an event that hasn't started yet utterly bad, imo

While having those cosmetics around forever would be better for sure, it is honestly almost no different from, say, every other anniversary related cosmetic we've had since the 4 year anniversary, all of the cosmetics from since then being time limited to their respective anniversary events, in fact we always got different cosmetics for each anniversary while the cosmetics from the year before never returned, even full outfits like Haddie & Dredge from last year, only real difference here is that this one cost money while the other is free.

At least the anniversary crowns from year 4 & 5 and the masks from last year returns this year, also the feng & ghostface will return next year guaranteed like every event cosmetic going forward.

There was other players playing then just PC. On PlayStation it was very much alive.

Plus DBD only increased in players because of the lawsuit I'm one of them. I had no intentions on playing DBD back then.

We don't really know the console numbers, so those don't really matter since they're unavailable to us, however if they're anything similar to the numbers seen for pc, then it wouldn't make any difference.

Also i'm fairly certain that even without the lawsuit, dbd's numbers would have risen regardless judging by the numbers some of the past chapters pulled in.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

Why does it always have to be competition?

I mean it would be nice to have other games in the same genre to play then just one.

F13 only fell because it got pulled into the lawsuit otherwise it would be neck and neck with DBD.

Evil Dead , Resident Evil Resistance fell because the competitiveness took over pushing out the new, average, casual and players that wanted to play for fun.

The only way TCM will survivor is if the DEVs think of all their players and not just the try-hards pushing it to be the next sweat-fest in gaming but, only time will tell.

I doubt F13 would have been neck to neck with DBD considering that even without the lawsuit, it's player count never really came close to be near or even match dbd's own regular numbers throughout the game's entire lifetime.

  • I'm genuinely glad that i don't have to play against Wesker for the time being, get to have a pause from listening to his chase music and also actually be allowed to play against more of the other killers.

  • Rework Legion & Wesker's chase music to actually sound like chase music, meaning something you're suppose to run from rather than jam out to

Bring back Ghostface's original chase music

Remove any and all existing content from mobile and never add anything new from it

    Add more indoor maps

Replace Base Haddie with Tome Haddie

Make Hillbilly's overheat increase, unable to lose heat gained and make the saw unable to recover if he's camping a Survivor until he leaves the hook and chases another Survivor or the hooked Survivor gets sacrificed

Bring back Singularity's PTB chase music

Bring back Oni's PTB chase music to play from Oni's FOV only

Bring back Myers' stalking sound que when stalking a Survivor and only be audible from Myers' FOV

Updating all Killers visually from Wraith to Oni (Discarding Nurse, Doctor & Clown)

    Updating Swamp visually

Bring in more Cult Classic horror movie licensed chapters like Phantasm, Re-Animator & Pumpkinhead

    Remove Renato & Thalita

Give more modern or future cosmetics for Vittorio

Make the bathroom in The Game map more blue in the tint as it was originally during the ptb

Give more shirtless cosmetics to more Survivors

    Indoor maps are hell...

He is quite fun for me on open maps even with EMPs.

They're actually working really well on indoor maps in my experience.

He works best in chase with his bipods and the information they provide are an added bonus as well as when you can use the cameras to teleport on top of Survivors too, bipods getting EMP'd during chase won't mean much since you can just place a new one immediately.

Placing them in random areas helps alot of times as people tend to circle back to those same spots more than once, which means easy infection or slipstreaming, especially on narrow hallways or really open areas with more than 1 bipod placed.

The only problem is the EMPs being overtuned, which brings his power reliability down too often with bipods scattered around the map, however once the EMPs gets nerfed next bugfix patch, that won't be a problem anymore.

you can play him as setup 3 gen killer but he is suppose specialize in the chase. Its little bit like demogorgon with portals where he has shred but also has secondary mobility. camera are like demo portals and overclock is like shred, a chase tool. My main issue is still EMP. EMP is massively unfun to play against as killer. re-applying infection 3+ times per chase vs strong teams is drains my stamina as killer.

EMPs really is the only real issue this killer has i've noticed, i imagine that as soon as it gets nerfed next bugfix patch, the killer is going to feel better to play as.

Isn't Identity V only as it is because it has been authorized by BHVR, tho? I tried it out years ago, and imitated DbD in almost every aspect.

Netease got permission from bhvr to borrow elements from dbd to use in Identity V, which Bhvr also helped them make, in fact i think that might have been what lead to their dbd mobile partnership later on.

The Chapter is head and shoulders over the Skull Merchant chapter.

The thing to take into account is, as far as I can remember, every chapter has had people bemoaning it. It's pretty much par for the course, especially when people are declaring a killer is crap less than 24 hours after release (which is never enough time!). Just the same old circle of vomit.

I like this chapter and The Singularity will be a decent killer as time goes on.

I think when more people starts to utilize Singularity's power as a chase heavy tool rather than for map control, i imagine there's probably gonna be less complaints about the killer's power than as it currently stands since everyone is still figuring out how to get proper use out of the power.

Although i am still looking forward to next bugfix patch to see what kind of improvements they're gonna give to the killer and the EMPs.

  • As far as i can tell, Singularity has potential but it needs some more balance adjustment to fully shine.

I don't hate the chapter, in fact i think it's a big step up from last chapter, however i would be lying if i said that it didn't have some rough spots that needs to be smoothed out a bit.

  • @jesterkind said:

Don't you think this is a little dramatic?

EMPs are a little overtuned but the killer power obviously needs some kind of counterplay, it's a video game.

Let's be real, EMPs are 100% gonna get nerfed alot harder next bugfix patch, i also expect more buffs for Singularity as well.

  • Can't say that i share the sentiment about the new map, i tried racing around the map with Billy and didn't really have any issue with any clutter, most of the other killers feels like the same experience i have on just about most other maps.

Emm I'm Pretty sure u are talking about his passive that makes him invincible. It might not hide his aura as it did before. I think that in pre-rework version of Freddy he actually was Invisible even to aura reading. U could only see him, and be hit by him, in the Dream World.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3451597#Comment_3451597

I understand ur opinion. Even tho I think Old Freddy with some mobility would fit dbd way better than it did in the old years of this game. Life of M1 Killers is easier nowadays. And I'm pretty sure it would make this killer a bit more strategic than he is now.

His teleport and added Incapacitated to dream transistion is not enough to fix the rest of the problems his old kit had.

    • Survivors would still be able to hook rush while Freddy is unable to do anything to defend it and incapacitation during Dream Transition won't alleviate it if all the Survivors group up when doing it, so defending the hook during end game doesn't exist for Freddy.
    • Survivors can still just walk over to a pallet during Dream Transition without consequence.
    • The amount of gen slowdown perks combined with his sleep interaction speed penalty would potentially result in Forever Freddy being brought back even more annoying than before.
    • He'll be just as perk reliant in chase as he was originally, while the selection of perks has expanded since then, he's still gonna struggle against competent Survivors and is forced to eat pallets just as much like before.
    • Being unable to put a Survivor to sleep after they've used an alarm clock now is gonna be just as much of a pain in the ass for Freddy as before when Survivors could just fail a skill check non-stop while grouped up on a generator whenever someone was falling asleep.

The only thing Incapacitated and Dream Projection solves is the fact that people can no longer fail a skill check during Dream Transition and wake up before it finishes anymore and giving Freddy a means to capitalize on his aura reading, however he's still gonna have just as much of a hard time as even with your updated version of his old kit.

  • What's your favorite Nicolas Cage movie?

    Yes.

  • The age of cage is coming and it's going to be interesting to say the least.

Also the perks have been confirmed to be very Nic Cagey and the cosmetics can only be originals, no outfits from any of his movies.

  • @egg_ said:

Idk other than the map I'm pretty happy of the chapter as of now

The killer's definitely not easy to play, I bet most people got stomped a few matches and are already complaining because his power doesn't immediately serve them a 4k

Only thing that's really an issue right now are the EMPs, which i bet is 100% gonna get nerfed again next patch.

  • Like who really wants to be in a chase with a Killer whose music sounds like a power washer?

I would because i genuinely like the repetitive chase tracks like Doctor, Sadako, Hag, Dredge, Singularity and especially Skull Merchant's, i'd rather be hearing those while getting chased than i would want to hear something like Wesker, Legion or Deathslinger's chase music.

  • They didn't word it as a rework though, all they said was that she'd get an update which could also just mean a QOL pass for all we know.

  • Forum polls don't really mean or do anything and making one ain't gonna increase the outfit's chances to be included in the game, the only way it'd have a chance to make it in would be through the cosmetic contest.

  • I'm gonna have to say no to this.

Only thing i'll accept for freddy is a QOL pass for his current kit & addons, never do i want to see Old Freddy again, especially not in today's dbd with all the slowdown perks currently in the game.

  • Buying another layer of skins for existing skins is a no for me.

  • No.

    Not now, not ever.

Especially not the emotes from mobile.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

I would love it. How would it look though? In the base game leatherface has black eyes but in the movie his eyes are always visible.

plus he’s a lot thinner in the sequel. You would have to make him skinnier.

Pretty lady outfit has visible eyes though.

LF's model can also be made thinner as shown with other killers where they're able to alter the form through skins.

  • Yeah no, single cosmetic piece for all Survivors to wear similar to the charity case dlc is still more preferable imo.

  • Because it was announced as a spin-off game along with that other announced dbd spin-off game made by Midwinter.

The idea that they're just gonna turn main dbd into an entirely different game is quite frankly a completely ridiculous idea.

  • I have, and i'll repeat, they look stupid as hell and would ruin whatever immersion is left in the game for me.

  • Pls, no emotes in core.

They would not only increase toxicity, but they frankly look stupid as all hell.

Also they would ruin whatever immersion is left in the game for me.

  • I'm gonna be boring and say that i don't, i've always found golden weapons and cosmetics to be one of the most overrated things in video games.
