WAIT BASE AND TOME CHARACTERS ARE FROM DIFFER UNIVERSES??

    Yes and no.

Some base and tome characters are from the same universe/terra as other base and tome characters, while other base and tome characters are from completely seperate universes/terras not connected to any of the other base or tome characters.

With characters like Otto Stamper and Haddie, both are from a universe/terra where existing playable characters originate from which also have tome characters that exist in those universes/terras as well.

  • I genuinely hope Wesker gets nerfed one day, purely out of spite for the people on this forum who keep trying to dictate to others what is or isn't considered fun, because they think their own idea of fun is everyone else's idea of fun too or that because they think that majority find something to be fun that it means everyone else who's idea of fun differs from it matters less, as if fun was something objective.

She's flawed to the point that since her chase is so weak, she's incentivised to 3 gen. This is only counteracted by her chase add ons, geo readout and strobed. By nerfing her 3 gen and buffing her chase it moves her away from boring playstyles and into utilising haste in chase.

I mean we can buff her haste from hacked drones sure, however like i said, 3 genning is getting fixed across the board for all killers, so trying to fix something that's already getting fixed seems needless unless the aim is to just change her into an entirely different killer altogether.

  • I mean they're already working on fixing 3 genning from across the board, so changing the killer too seems needless.

  • I don't see the lie in OP's post.

I'm pretty sure from the way the post is written with the punctuation between the favorite game part and their age part, that OP isn't saying that they've played dbd since they were 14, but rather that they've been playing video games in general since they were 14 and that they are now 34 and dbd has become one of their favorite games.

  • If it ever was to happen, i think any legendary outfits would still not have their weapons unlinked simply because they're licensed.

  • I'd try to make gens more interactive for Survivors to work on by adding more mini games to do instead of adding entirely new and complex side objectives.

It would still have to be simple enough for anyone to do said mini games since the game's simplicity of anyone being able to just pick it up and play it is one of dbd's strengths as a game.

  • What if they changed second and third blink into where she can't go through walls and objects?

  • The Otto Stamper from Dredge's story and the Otto from Doctor's story are not from the same universe, i even made an entire thread explaining why.

    @Smoe said:

Basically, they're from two different terras/universes.

One is from base Haddie's terra while the other is from tome Haddie's terra.

Base Haddie in her lore finds the secluded island where the fold used to live as well as see the residual memories of when the people of the fold killed each other and created the Dredge, which by default means that Otto Stamper also lives in Base Haddie's universe as he was the leader of The Fold Community as seen in Dredge's bio lore.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/79J7ROEC2W0L/unavngivet.png

Meanwhile we have Tome Haddie who is not only a different version of Haddie who lives in another terra, but she lives in the same universe as other characters such as Blight, Felix, Elodie, Twins, Vittorio, Knight, Carmina, Jonah, Doctor and of course, Otto Stamper.

    Here is how that connects.

In one tome Haddie's tome entries called ''Twelve to Midnight. The Crows.'', there are references to some of the previously mentioned characters throughout in said story entry, those references are the following.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8JE8GES1MBA2/image.png

    • A bottle of Grime: An obvious reference to Talbot Grimes aka The Blight, meaning Blight exist in the same universe as Tome Haddie and by extension Felix, Elodie and Twins as well. Felix and Elodie is connected to Blight because they and the other Pariah children finds the long abandoned East Indian Company laboratory and prison camp on Dyer Island that Talbot used in his bio lore, while The Twins are connected to Elodie because they are referenced in Elodie's bio lore.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IK8V9B7EZ8HI/image.png

    • Painting of the Medieval lord: A painting of a Medieval lord who can see into other worlds which Max and Haddie finds along with The Crow paintings and other hidden things along with it such as different poetry, statues and art, a clear reference to Vittorio and by extension Knight since both directly know each other.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2V62K1KK7SCU/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BTZ39A8MKI8O/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QRJA3SUJ3GVA/image.png

    • The Crow paintings: The paintings that Carmina painted in her time before being taken by the fog that Luis in the tome entry kept with him hidden away which the mercenaries in the story is after, the paintings along with Carmina herself being mentioned by name more than once as well as herself as a killer appearing to max when he enters the bleed after he and Haddie finds the hidden paintings, meaning both Carmina and by extension Jonah exist in that universe as Carmina is referenced in Jonah's lore.

So now that we've established that Jonah exist in Tome Haddie's terra, let's take a look at Jonah's own tome, there we will find in the last entry this little reference to Otto Stamper and Herman Carter aka The Doctor.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XJ8T8KHN2BEI/unavngivet.png

Basically confirming that Otto & The Doctor both exist in the same terra as Jonah and by extension the same terra as Tome Haddie does as well as every other connected name previously mentioned.

So unless The Black Vale has found a yet to be confirmed way to travel back and forth between different terra worlds, it simply would not be possible for the Otto Stamper in Dredge's lore to be the exact same Otto Stamper from Doctor's lore.

  • This thread reeks of nostalgia blinding.

Also as someone who's played since the beta, i absolutely hated all the old stuff that once was in the game, including all the old things mentioned in this thread and i genuinely hope none of it ever returns again.

  • I certainly don't want it visible, it'll only cause more problems than it'll supposedly solve.

  • That sounds more like a server issue rather than a ddos, if it was a ddos then your entire internet would be down altogether.

Victor customization is not going to happen.

When that day comes, if it does, it opens up a ton of custom options. Hillbilly’s chainsaw. Trappers traps. Oni’s kanobo. BHVR has expressly said they are against this in the past.

Maybe the newer team members will open this doorway for us. We all want Victor with a top hat.

Then there's no hope for a proper blighted twins cosmetic, honestly might as well just straight up forget about Twins' existence altogether when it comes to cosmetics since without Victor, it just doesn't work that well or at least you have a very limited amount of creativity to choose from.

Also since Blighted Oni was last time, then either Trickster or Deathslinger is gonna be next most likely.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3485083#Comment_3485083

I think this is a problem for Twins. Maybe if they do not Blight the mid section of Charlotte it won’t be too out of place carrying Victor about. Or really blight up the inside of her chest may work as well.

    It is a conundrum.

Only way Twins' blight outfit can't be a lost cause is if their rework somehow allows for Victor customization.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Pretty much guaranteed to buy any Blighted Killer Skin released.

I would like the older unblighted killers to get one. I think at this point it’s mostly Deathslinger and Twins. Personally I am a big Artist and Knight fan. So those as well.

They have really slowed their Blighted skin releases down these last few years though.

If they can't make Victor blighted as well, they might as well not even make a blight skin for The Twins.

  • Like all things, there is a possibility for it to happen.

Is that possibility likely to happen at the moment or anytime soon? Definitely not.

  • Wesker and Legion should get some new chase music that actually sounds like chase music, Wesker sounds like you're suppose to fight him rather than run from him and Legion's music is just a track one would jam to, which the opposite of what a chase music is suppose to do, it's suppose to intensify the life and death situation that you're suppose to escape from.

Also outside of a few select ones, anime and manga crossovers in general do not fit dbd.

I said iirc, I don't remember where I saw it

Yeah I know I'm basically saying "just trust me bro" but even if I'm wrong it doesn't change the fact that they can't do anything without the holders' approval. And the craven estate isn't really well known for their leniency..

Yeah i know you said iirc, it's just that i've seen people bring that claim up every now and then but never once have i been able to get a source from any of them about it's source of origin and whether or not there is any legitimacy to it.

Also last i checked, the Wes Craven Estate was actually looking for new outfit for Freddy, however since we're dealing with the remake, i don't think that'll matter since Warner Bros / New Line has already said no to any new cosmetics according to Cote a few halloweens ago in a pre-recorded dev Q&A where he and Peanits & Justin was talking about licenses and the Eternal Blight Event, and i'm pretty sure Warner Bros / New Line has the most control over the remake than Wes Craven Estate does, if not complete control.

    • Swamp rework
    • Trickster map
    • More perk buffs
    • Swamp rework
    • Reworked Moris for older killers
    • Swamp rework

Swamp rework was confirmed to happen during the most recent Reddit AMA with the devs.

They can't as NOES is a notoriously difficult mess of a license. And afaik the license holders differ from US and the rest of the world making it even more difficult. There was also a dispute going on about who owns the license too. So no idea what is correct now.

There wasn't any license dispute with the IP, what happened was that the US rights to the original nightmare movies was reverted back to it's creator Wes Craven, however since he's dead the rights was given to his family The West Craven Estate, so now his family owns the rights to the original franchise within the US while Warner Bros / New Line owns the international rights to those movies.

It was done because Warner Bros / New Line were legally required to do so because there is (or was one back in the day, not sure if it got changed) a law that says if a movie maker has sold the rights for a movie(s) off to a company and a certain amount of years passes, the rights to the movie(s) are legally reverted back to the creator. It's the same situation that happened to Hellraiser with Clive Barker owning the rights to the first movie within the US while Park Avenue owns the International Rights.

Also i believe The Nightmare remake license we have in-game is solely owned by Warner Bros / New Line.

Yes, I mentioned that they are a different license. But it's possible a deal can be made to get Young Ash. They likely would be sets and maybe cost the same amount of a Legendary or Ultra Rare skin.

If they make a deal, it will not be as a skin for the current Ash we have in-game, it's going to be as it's own seperate dlc because bhvr cannot just add an IP owned by a different company into the game as a cosmetic for another IP that is owned by another entirely different company when the contract bhvr has is between them and Starz only, and there's no way any company would just willingly or openly agree to split profits with other unnecessary third parties all of the sudden with a dlc they themselves are getting the most profit from.

They don't, but iirc the license holders told BHVR to not talk to them again about anything or they will pull the NOES license

They are pretty well known for being stingy with their liscence anyhow

So yeah, BHVR can't do anything

They don't, but iirc the license holders told BHVR to not talk to them again about anything or they will pull the NOES license

    What's your source on this?

  • The license only covers his cosmetic options from Ash vs Evil Dead, so anything from the movies is out of the question.

Since all the movies are seperately owned by a different company each, they'll have to do 3 entirely seperate dlcs, one for each of the movies in order to get all 3 different versions of Young Ash.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

Isn’t it possible that Felix and Elodie are from different universes as well? Since there are multiple iterations of all of these same characters? Can’t each and every one of them be from a different world but with similarities that are close enough to make it seem like they come from the same place? Couldn’t this be true of every character? Millions of memories in the fog from a million different versions of the same person?

Infinite versions exist of everyone yes, however there is nothing in the lore that suggests that the versions of Elodie, Felix and all the aforementioned characters read about in the tome entry are from a different terra than that of the playable versions of them, not all characters are from different terras than other characters, like how certain killers and Survivors are connected to one another in their lore.

The only characters you can make a case for being from different terras are those who's lores doesn't have any connections to other specific existing versions of a character, and if there is a connection to one, that the said version connected to them differs from the playable version's lore or actions.

Examples of actual multiverse cases are things such as the entire storyline of terra arachna, the multiple different confirmed versions of Haddie, the multiple different confirmed versions of Trapper and the entry about Emperor Dwight just to name a few.

Most horror is based on it, so i basically don’t care if a Child really died here, also considering that movies like Nightmare on Elm Street exist.

Yet when it comes towards torture or stuff like that. Im a bit more alerted.

Still, children getting tortured would still be considered part of horror though, personally i don't really see why it's any worse than any other horrifying act of harm.

In fact, i specifically remember one particular torture scene from the movie Doctor Sleep where the True Knot tortures a kid to obtain his shining steam before killing him.

  • I mean, it's not unheard of kids getting hurt or even die in horror.

Jeff literally got a prime exclusive and kept getting recolors last year. Both of them were getting crumps during that time. But i dont want to sway too far from my main point here. Which is even tho they have "expanded" their cosmetic team. There are still survivors in the roster that are not getting cosmetics for a long period of time which imo going 6 months without a new cosmetic i deem is too long and is neglectful. And instead they continue to keep giving the same top survivors cosmetics when it should be the ones who havent gotten anything for far too long within a 6 month period. Heck, it could even be a recolor for all i care. And yea, some less popular survivors are getting something now, good. But there are still survivors, 2 specifically from the top of my head i mentioned to you, that are being neglected.

And i like how you said even the rifts are featuring less popular survivors when although true for haddie next rift. All recolors feature meg, kate, nea and yunjin.

Jeff literally got a prime exclusive and kept getting recolors last year. Both of them were getting crumps during that time.

Forgot about the amazon cosmetic for Jeff, however crumbs still counts as content, meaning they both weren't forgotten about and in fact didn't get nothing as you said they did.

First off, unpopular characters have gotten recolors in past rifts and secondly, characters are not required to get equal treatment as others and some Survivors will always sell more than others regardless of how much cosmetic they give them, the idea that giving unpopular survivors more cosmetics will automatically make them as popular as some of those that already are, is quite frankly naive thinking.

I can also very much tell you that if we go 6 months without a Kate, Feng, Nea and Meg cosmetic, people are gonna complain about that just as much as you are complaining about those other characters not getting their equal attention cake.

Also let me ask you this, would you rather spend alot of money on a bunch of unpopular characters that nobody plays and risk getting less sales that wouldn't make up from the cost spent on making the cosmetics for those unpopular characters since only they were featured with no popular character alongside them.

    or

Would you rather spend money on characters you know are gonna sell well because you know they're popular and therefore guarantees that the resources spent on them covers the cost of making the cosmetics for them?

One is economically wise while the other isn't.

And yea, some less popular survivors are getting something now, good. But there are still survivors, 2 specifically from the top of my head i mentioned to you, that are being neglected.

If the latest cosmetic pattern is any indication, they could likely get something at some point this year.

And i like how you said even the rifts are featuring less popular survivors when although true for haddie next rift. All recolors feature meg, kate, nea and yunjin.

That does not change the fact that there has been recolors for almost all Survivors in past rifts, even if there aren't any in the next one, that doesn't change that they do still include them in general.

  • There's nothing wrong with the submissions that won and the artists that made those submissions definitely do not deserve the hate they get, in fact i much prefer the Clown cosmetic over any of Dredge's skins.

There are many ways people can cope and seethe over not getting what they want, this should not be one of them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479491#Comment_3479491

And yet yun jin was getting just has much cosmetics as jeff last year. She wasnt getting anything. They are just now investing in her. Which they should do for other survivors. I understand its a business, but to neglect and forget your other creations that you worked hard on and have a fanbase is honestly disappointing.

Not true, last year in august Yun-Jin got her Judge of the Stars outfit as part of the Pop Superstar collection while Jeff didn't get anything, so no they did in fact invest in her last year.

They are starting to investing in other less popular Survivors this year like i've repeatedly stated, it's why you're starting to see them pop up more now, Zarina in her own collection along with Deathslinger, Jeff in the Waterfront Massacre and Jonah now with the Visions of the Future collection, they might have been neglected in the past where they didn't even get anything, but the fact that bhvr has given 3 less popular Survivors in a row cosmetics after their cosmetic team expanded means they aren't really being neglected anymore as it seems like a reacurring pattern now with cosmetic collections going forward.

Even the rifts are featuring less popular Survivors more often now.

  • @Quizzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479456#Comment_3479456

And my point still remains as well. They are still leaving out certain characters for a longer period of time without cosmetics. If they keep getting cosmetics like the top 5, then they will be played more often. Yunjin is a prime example of this as her playerbase has risen when she lacked the popularity.

Of course popular characters will always get more than less popular characters, why spend as much money and resources on a whole bunch of cosmetics for characters you already know isn't going to sell nearly as much as opposed to characters you know will because there already exist a demand for you to supply? It simply just makes economical sense.

You will never see bhvr just straight up disregarding their most popular Survivors in favor of the unpopular ones all of the sudden, they're always going to give the popular ones something for the majority of cosmetic releases no matter what because they guarantee the most sales, been like that forever and it ain't changing anytime soon no matter how much you complain about it, but what has changed is like i said, that they're now giving less popular survivors more cosmetics more often than before.

Also Yun-Jin already had more popularity than most of the other less popular Survivors by the time of her and Trickster's release.

  • @Quizzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479423#Comment_3479423

And it took several momths for them to get it. And still, kate, meg, nea, feng, kate gets something every update. The survivors who are being neglected currently are david and jake both havent recieved new skins over 6 months.

Because they're the most played Survivors, therefore they make more sales than less played characters and will therefore more often get cosmetics.

Point in case still remains however, less played Survivors are getting cosmetics more often now than they did in the past, the past 3 cosmetic drops proves it.

  • @Quizzy said:

    1. Blight: Nothing makes me want to dc harder than playing against a Blight that utilizes every exploit tech known to man, not even Nurse is this insufferable.
    2. Wesker: Because having to get tunneled by Wesker for 5 gens straight for the 200th goddamn time is such a utterly boring experience, i'll take a Knight or a Skull Merchant over Wesker any day.
    3. Hillbilly: Curve Billies specifically, if Wesker didn't exist then i would have called Curve Billies for the most boring playstyle imaginable.

OMG, HOW THIS COSTUME IS IN GAME, SHAME ON YOU BHVR, THIS COSTUME IS SO WRONG bla bla bla. I remember all of reacts.

And then some people are asking for shirtless Myers for years. I don't get this double standards.

Also let's not forget that sexual appeal or just sex in general have been part of horror movies or rather the horror genre in general for the past 40-50 years now.

There is nothing to suggest that there is anything in dbd that doesn't fit within the horror genre as the horny, comedic, campy and unconventional is just as much part of it as the serious and conventional is, even LGBTQ has been part of horror ever since the 80's or more.

People who call any of what i just mentioned above for not horror are either not actually horror fans themselves or they're just gatekeepers because they think what's scary or not to them personally determines what is or isn't considered horror, which is complete bogus since scary and horror are related to one another but they're not the same thing, scary is personal while horror is a general concept that not one person determines alone purely by their preference.

Male shirtless skins can be spun as bring "cool" but ppl would ######### their pants at the women showing some boob.

They already did, just look at Skull Merchant's ultra rare release cosmetic and the overreaction some of the people had to it lol.

Granted, it's not really surprising seeing as some people love to act like a bunch of puritans or gatekeepers when it comes to what is or isn't horror / what does or doesn't fit as horror.

In this logic they're still not base game. They are, but for pc users, on console different dlc's are "base", like Doctor and Hag

Base game for one platform still counts as base game killer on a technical level.

So yes, you can call Hag and Doctor base game killers as well if you want to, because it would technically still be correct.

  • Thread topic is about base game killers and both she and Huntress are part of the base game, therefore Nurse counts as a base game killer.

Had the thread said vanilla killers, then i would have answered Wraith.

  • Not entirely, if Warner Bros wasn't as strict as they are, we could probably have gotten some cosmetics for Quentin that he was seen using in the remake.

Also the license situation for ANOES is the same situation for the first Hellraiser movie between Park Avenue and Clive Barker which is the license bhvr has acquired for the game.

  • Basically, bhvr only have the rights to the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and so is only allowed to use things from that movie as that is what the license they have extends to.

Warners Bros/New Line Cinema holds full control over the remake while the original film series is co-owned between The Wes Craven Estate aka Wes Craven's family who holds the rights to the original movies within the US and Warner Bros/New Line Cinema who holds the rights to the original movies internationally.

bhvr was originally turned down by Warner Bros/New Line Cinema for use of the license to the original movies, however was offered a take it or leave it kind of deal by them with the remake instead.

Given how very strict Warner Bros is known to be with lending their properties out to other companies that aren't under their own umbrella, it's not really surprising that no new content has been added in all this time, especially since Freddy & Quentin came out before the cosmetic store was released.

If you could adjust anything to make Nemesis more fun-exciting, what would you do?

Only thing Nemesis really needs is an Add-on QOL pass, however things that would be nice to have outside that would be this.

    • Make Nemesis switch between walk and run animation depending on if he's in a chase or not just like Ghostface.
    • Add a third zombie
    • Allow Nemesis to gain the Haste Status Effect for a limited time from killing a zombie with his fist.
