As someone who played the beta and pre-purchased the game, i completely disagree with this entire thread.
Summer BBQ event is way too overrated and quite frankly was just a copy & paste of Howling Grounds event.
I absolutely hated not only the old ps2 aesthetics along with their color tints (especially on MacMillan, Coldwind and a few other maps), but i also hated the old Survivor animations (especially the running animation), old fog and depth of field.
Hatchet standoffs, old keys, infinites, old metas and vacuum pallets was nothing but pure frustration.
I'm also genuinely glad Billy is no longer a regular pick by people because ######### that killer.
Coldwind being bright is only a good thing, it gives off the Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes now unlike before, so now it fits both Hillbilly and Leatherface.
Now all that's left is to go even further and replace or remove all remaining remnants of old dbd in the game, the sooner the better.
-
Apparently Drafts without a title to it cannot be accessed afterwards.
-
Problem with adding gore to dbd is the risk of getting the game banned in some countries, in fact i do wonder if the ptb gore will make it to the live build.
-
Postal Dude would fit more as a killer than as a Survivor tbh.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmgF8gI1LC8 -
My dream cosmetics are mostly the stuff that's impossible to get into the game, skins like OG Freddy, Evil Dead 2 Young Ash, Scream accurate robe, Bubba's outfit from TCM2, Butterball & Deep Throat/Female Cenobite. Basically the stuff that cannot make it into the game for mostly contractual reasons.
I also know what i don't want to see: Netease cosmetics being brought over to core dbd.
-
Mostly i just want Clementine as a Survivor, but having more characters as skins are always a nice bonus.
-
Wesker honestly sucks the fun out of the game for me everytime just like Blight & Hillbilly does.
-
Too early to say.

Hm…well that’s gonna depend on who you ask.
For films, the ones that come to mind immediately are Jason, the Xenomorph, Pennywise and Chucky. Alien might be the trickiest to acquire though, with Disney ‘n all.
I’d argue Jason is the big man missing from the roster, though the game has gotten to a point where I’m not sure what niche he could fill.
For video games, the biggest names would be Clock Tower, Amnesia, FNaF (god forbid) Fatal Frame, The Evil Within, Bioshock, etc.
Of those, The Evil Within is my most-wanted. Though I have no idea how likely it is. The artist they had on the stream left the studio, after all.
Alien might be the trickiest to acquire though, with Disney ‘n all.get.
I'd argue Pennywise and any other Stephen King IP are the trickiest ones, if not also the hardest ones too simply because the guy just don't do video game stuff with his IPs after the not very successful first attempts at a video game adaptations back in the 80's.
-
Alright i'm just gonna jump in and give my own list since i forgot to do it in the description above.
For me it would be.
- Art the Clown from Terrifier
- Bobby Barrows from Clock Tower: The First Fear
- Cassie Hack from Hack/Slash
- Chucky from Child's Play
- Clementine from Telltale's The Walking Dead
- Elvira the Horror TV hostess
- Harry Warden from My Bloody Valentine
- Herbert West from Stuart Gordon's adaptation of Lovecraft's Re-Animator
- Jason from Friday the 13th
- Kayako from Ju-On
- Kurt Barlow from Salem's Lot
- Matra from Outlast 2
- Matt Cordell from Maniac Cop
- Norman Bates from Psycho
- Pennywise from IT
- Rose The Hat from Doctor Sleep
- Taylor from Crypt TV's Sunny Family Cult.
- The Alien from The Thing
- The Atomic Man from Tormented Souls
- The Brute from Monstrum 1
- The Candyman from Candyman
- The Demon Woman from Onibaba
- The Fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer
- The Ghouls from Amnesia: Rebirth
- The Keeper from Evil Within 1
- The Magnus Archive
- The Monster from Crypt TV's Girl in the Woods
- The Pig Butcher from Hotline Miami 2
- The Predator from Predator
- The Pumpkinhead from Pumpkinhead
- The Tall Man from Phantasm
- The Xenomorph from Alien
- Victor Crowley from Hatchet
Cosmetic wise, it would be
- Evil Dead 2's Young Ash for current Ash
- Female Cenobite/Deep Throat & Butterball for Pinhead
- OG Freddy for remake Freddy
- Scream accurate robes for Ghostface
-
I can't speak on behalf of others, but i hate Haddie solely because we got the inferior version of Haddie and not the Tome version of Haddie who's the superior Haddie in every way.

But Dracula has his likeness , so if they already cooperate with him that is half way there to license his Dracula character.
Thing is, it doesn't matter if Dracula has his likeness because the iteration of that character as well as the clothing for that character are from a movie that's owned by a company and not Nicolas Cage himself, so they would still have to get the license from that company in order to get the clothing for Nicolas Cage.
Since the license we have is purely with Nicolas Cage himself and no one else, any characters or clothing from any movies owned by a company that Nicolas Cage has played in would result in it's own contract and would be it's own dlc seperate from the Nicolas Cage dlc, not to mention we haven't had any dlc yet where a new company later got a cut of an existing dlc as well because bhvr gave a cosmetic from a different property that isn't covered contractually with the existing dlc. (I'm looking at you ghostface dlc with no scream robes.)
Best they can do is make cosmetics that's loosely based on the outfits he's worn in movies, so where they look like them but ain't completely accurate to them, just enough to avoid legal trouble.
Also in an interview with Mathieu Cote, he said that they weren't gonna make outfits from the movies he's in, but from what he wears irl.
-
Nicolas Cage's outfits not be any of the movie outfits he's worn, but rather they will be based after what Nicolas Cage would be wearing in real life.
-
I know Pennywise & Vecna 100% ain't coming, my guess is either Alien due to the next chapter also being Sci-fi, Jason since the lawsuit is over or maybe also Cucky because Dave Richard wants him in.

I'd bet money one of the chapters this year will be from Until Dawn given supermassive (makers of until dawn) are making another game with DBD
I wouldn't be too sure it's Until Dawn considering Sony still refuses to let go of it.

The only reason u have any problem there is, that you don't know u can hit survivors thru the fence (those white around generator). This information effectively hugely shortens the path for killer making it impossible for survivor to use for looping (it can only be used to move to more favorable section of map or by using pallets next to main - but those ate also not fully safe).
Try it yourself once. The map is strong around cow tree and shack. Main is usable, but not strong segment.
Fence hits only works if the Survivor is right up against the fence itself on the other side of it, if there's any amount of space between the Survivor and the fence then it won't work.

Are you taking the window on the long loop or are you going through the doorway? Because you should be taking the window if they are trying to loop that tile since the doorway is out of the way. I've literally never seen survivors entity block that window by looping it without massive distance already being had. The only way you can see survivors doing that is if you are going around the window instead of taking it.
I see survivor use the windows to get to another loop but never see them connect loops with the windows really. Like the corner window is more like Iron works of misery window where you just buy time getting somewhere else and the side window is meh since you really can't do much with it. Sometimes I'll see survivor get a single loop on the side window but it really seems like a non issue.
We'll have to agree to disagree on it then, because i do see it as an issue.
I've seen Survivors entity block the window as well as seen them chain the windows multiple times even with myself vaulting the windows.
It's not even massive distance that's needed, just a fair bit, and if there isn't enough distance then they'll just go to the nearby pallet by the haystacks or the L walls that's closeby the main building.

It has 3 windows but you can't really chain or loop them. I don't see how the amount of the windows really matter if you can't do the 2 main things that would make them a serious issue. The long window is mostly worthless outside of buying some time going to the other side of the map unless you have massive distance on the killer to loop it. The windows with the breakable walls are fine unless you get the window chaining into a long wall jungle gym window. What makes them a problem for you?
The thing that makes the windows annoying for me is that the single window with the long pathway is used by Survivors to keep looping it until it's blocked off, if you try and go the other way around to cut the Survivor off then, they'll just have gone the opposite way and be long gone by the time you get around.
The 2 other windows that's close to each other are frustrating because the window that's on the same front as the lone window on the opposite side of the main building, Survivors can literally just go to another loop since other tiles and loops are close enough to the main building for the Survivors to connect them with one another, not to mention that the window where you can't fast vault it from the inside can be connected with the window next to it even with the breakable door destroyed, if Survivors have enough distance on you, they can still do all of this.

Wait, isn't Rancid the one with the collapsed grain silo main building? The one generator spawn in the open section, then a single window with a breakable wall to its left?
I always get them mixed up, I thought that was Rancid Abattoir.
No, that's Torment Creek you're thinking of, Rancid Abattoir is this one.

@Trollinmon said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432853#Comment_3432853
The main building isn't even a problem on that map. The issue that comes from the map comes from cow tree being near another tile that causes chaining. The problems on that map are the window placement and cow tree next to other tiles, not main building.
For main you break the wall and there isn't any real issue. You go face first into the only pallet on the main and the windows are fine. Rancid main hasn't been a serious problem ever since they removed the god window like 3-4 years ago.
Yeah no i heavily disagree, the main building is a problem because of the amount of windows it has.
Even with a breakable wall, having 3 windows open like that is still just too much imo.
If they were to close off at least one of them, then i'd be more fine with it.
-
I absolutely despise Rancid, the main building is just awful to play on.
So them taking a look at it is only a good thing imo.
-
This entire interview's existence feels ironic to me that they would even do it with someone from bhvr, considering that the guy running the podcast has shown on twitter that he hates dbd and calls bhvr for culture vultures with how they do their licensed dlcs.
-
My only concern is that they would end up bringing in actors who's either not very iconic or is unrelated to the horror genre.
That, and that they might end up prioritizing getting actors in over getting any of the highly requested licensed characters people have been asking about for years now.
-

This is epic 😄
There is actually an old street fighter horror game called Terrordrome but it's old and outdated though.
Would be cool if dbd somehow got a street fighter type game spin off in the future.
I'm aware of the existence of both Rise of the Boogeyman and Reign of the Legends.
It's kinda why i want dbd to acquire the missing licenses featured in Rise (The Tall Man especially.) as well as why i also want dbd to be featured in fighting games like Mortal Kombat or Soul Calibur as guest characters.
Seeing as BHVR is expanding DBD into other game genres, maybe it'll be a reality sooner or later.
-
I think if Freddy gets a second rework, it might be more than just an addon or QOL pass that he'll get.
Considering how far the game has advanced since his initial rework, I'm pretty sure they could do more unique things with his powers nowadays that otherwise might not have been possible back then.
As for the question at hand, i'd probably just give him more unique addons.

That's my subjective feeling, because after her release for a year+ there were numerous posts "buff Sadako", i've never seen anything about any killer close by. Literally amount posts how bad Merchant is ten times less than "please buff onryo".
There were insane amount of suggestions, even without overhaul (with removing slug play and buffing chase), but she is unchanged since release. Therefore - feeling about purpuseful neglecting poor Sadako
Btw, I was maining her till Knight release, like 99% games, stopped playing just because fed up, not cause I don't like here or she feels weird. It's just if you eat only candy whole year, you really want some salty meat or sour apple for the change.
You're entitled to your opinion, however if you look at it objectively, it's just a matter of time constraint and certain things being prioritized over other things.
Also Peanits even commented on one thread about Sadako

Lullaby could be just ambient sound or increase while you get condemn.
But back to the topic: there was SO MANY pleas to buff Sadako with SO MANY ideas, but devs probably hate her so much for some reason. Sadly, unlikely we will see her rework, despite that she is liked by many.
I don't think bhvr hates any of the killers or survivors, it's just that certain characters aren't on the their top priority list atm while other characters are.
Also i don't think her basekit needs a full blown freddy level rework, but more so a QOL pass.
-
first off, she shouldn't have a lullaby. with visual TR she's almost useless stealth-wise.
I disagree, they should keep the lullaby as it's very thematic for her character, however it should be changed to be map-wide instead of when she's close by.
-
If we're really gonna start bringing in more actors, let's at least go with those who's memorable for their work within the horror genre.I take it back, i don't want anymore real life people in dbd and Nicolas Cage should be one time thing only, especially with the risks that follows with bringing in people who's still alive when they have the potential to do stupid ######### later on.
-
Don't expect any of his movie appearances to be a cosmetics option, as any of them would only be possible through a license deal with the companies that owns the movies Cage is featured in.

Ahh, ok.
That would be cool indeed.
Maybe some day. They can´t up the gtaphics like crazy as long as it is playable for the old consoles.
But i noticed they at least fixed or improved the mimics in my opinion. When you are hooked the facial expressions seem better to me.
Maybe they start improving animations and stuff like these procedual things.
Maybe when the day comes where dbd can no longer continue supporting older generation consoles, that we can get features like this and more.
-
At one point yes, there was a dynamic blood and dirt system for Survivors where they would gradually get more covered in stuff as the trial progressed.
However as far as i'm aware, it was only tested on one ptb last year and was never spoken about again.

Have you seen the teaser?
I have, if it does turn out to be Nic himself, i'll stand corrected.
Also i'll say this, if their implementation of him is good enough, i probably won't have as much of a problem with it as i would have if it was just done with no reason given whatsoever.

I would be fine with that but I think that’s not the case at all.
I think you assume too much at this point, let's wait with judging it until more info is given.
-
I'd agree with your sentiment if it was just Nicolas Cage himself being the character.
However this is most likely gonna be no different from Ash, basically It's just gonna be a character with the likeness of Nic Cage, to which i think is fine.
-
Swamp visual overhaul
A visually overhaul for all killers from Wraith to Oni (Excluding Nurse & Ghostface.)
DBD as an IP expanding into other game genres like Fighting Games, Narrative driven games or just appearing in other games in general as guest characters.
More preset slots for cosmetics and loadouts.
More AI related killer powers.
-
- I quite frankly don't care about fnaf.
- I mean slenderman is alright but i've lost alot of interest in him in recent years, A proxy skin for legion would be cool though.
- Will never happen due to the type of license SCP falls under.
- Not sure how willing bhvr would be to give more of the same type of cosmetics as first time around to more dbd Survivors to make them look like the remaining l4d Survivors for free, however things like a Special Infected killer or any legendary skins won't happen because A. BHVR doesn't do free chapters anymore & B. BHVR aren't allowed to sell any IP content that's valve related, same reason why bill is free and why his rift outfit is only available with shards.
- Better this than the Walking Dead TV show or comics.
- The only killer i'll accept for a Bioshock chapter is if it's a Big Sister instead of a Big Daddy.
- I'd prefer Rebirth to be the pick for an Amnesia chapter, i find The Dark Descent to be a bit too overrated at this point.
- Outlast 1 is fine but Marta from Outlast 2 would fit way better as a killer imo.
- Could never really get behind the hype people had for this game.
- Any alien crossover in dbd works for me
-
Yes please.
-
Do i miss old dbd? No, not even a little bit, in fact i'm ######### glad old dbd is no more.
I hold an attachment to the game itself, not any specific version of the game and most of the worst matches i've ever played during this game's lifetime happened back during old dbd.

Hag I agree with, wraith only partially, artist is either an extra person not doing gens or one person taking a big risk burning ur crow mid chase. If u want u could even make the crow burning take longer but as long as they're fair (which they generally were imo) I think they're better to have in the game as just fun niche features
Here's the thing though, fun is subjective.
I don't think a mechanic (as niche as it may be) that allows the Survivors to screw a handful of Killers out of their powers whenever they have a flashlight, flashbang or tripmine is a ''fun'' mechanic, i'd rather just keep it removed altogether than try to adjust it.
-
Wraith, Hag & Artist mostly.
-
I'd rather we don't bring it back.
For as rarely as i encountered Survivors using that mechanic, it was quite frankly really frustrating to deal with when it did happen.

Folks be asking for this like every day, and it's just like why? He wasn't good not that current Freddy is good, but at least he's playing the game rather dumpstering people are new because his mechanics made no sense and getting absolutely deleted from the game by skilled players because his power was put people to sleep so he can just do what? Be an average m1 killer. The best thing about him was his absolutely insane ability to grind the game to a halt through passively making gens take forever with the right addons and old ruin.
Now most of the stuff that form of him relied on is gone and wouldn't synergize well with the stuff available now so he would be less than nothing. It boggles my mind why folks want the worst possible version of this one killer so bad. Like I kinda get with people who weren't playing back then, but watched the old youtube videos people just grinding the game to standstill. Yet, somehow they miss the videos of Freddy getting bullied into the grave by coordinated teams not even swfs just coordinated pubs with enough to understand he can't hurt you if y'all constantly keep each other awake.
It's not really a big mystery why.
Some people are just very much blinded by their nostalgia for old dbd or aspects of it.
-
No.
-
Behavior doesn't need permission from the license holders to balance a killer or reworking a Killer's kit since bhvr owns their own gameplay
What they do need permission for is releasing any new original or movie featured cosmetics that they're contractually allowed to use, changes to any text, visual character changes and visual map rework changes. (I'm not 100% on the last one.)
Lastly, some of their license agreements only cover a single movie and therefore can only release cosmetics from that movie or original cosmetics for the licensed character (albeit not always, Freddy, Quentin, Laurie, Myers and Bubba being such examples)
Licenses like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellraiser are such licenses that are stuck to their single respective movies and any cosmetics outside of those movies would require re-negotiation of contract altogether.
-
No ######### thanks.
I'll sooner accept whatever the worst bhvr has to offer in cosmetics than i'll ever accept the soulless garbage that is DBD Mobile cosmetics, ESPECIALLY Survivor cosmetics.
-
something nice about DBD.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K1YVWLEL0ZYC/tarman-7e2.jpg
Pumpkinhead, Norman Bates and Candyman are no brainers, just like how other pre-2000 horror movie characters like The Tall Man from Phantasm, Chucky from Child's Play, Herbert West from Re-Animator, Matt Cordell from Maniac Cop and Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th also are No brainers (as well as a must have for me personally, ESPECIALLY The Tall Man)
Carrie & Pennywise will most likely never happen because Stephen King simply just refuse to do anything video game related with his characters after last time he tried back in the days between late 80's to early 90's, it's clear that he hasn't changed his mind since then, so there's no reason to assume that'll change anytime soon, if at all
Frankenstein, Wolfman and Gillman is unlikely to happen because bhvr seems to prefer to either make their own original version of a horror archetype (such as how blight is bhvr's original spin on dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) or to just make Halloween skins inspired by universal monsters for original killers (Such as Doctor's Frankenstein skin and Hags's Creature from the Black Lagoon) rather than straight up adding the original characters themselves.
Jeepers Creepers would be a rather poor choice for the devs to pick considering the reputation of the IP itself and it's creator.
I don't know the Tarman character, so that one i can't really say yes or no to with certainty.
-
I highly doubt we're ever gonna get classic universal monsters as how they're seen in their respective movies as their own killers in dbd since bhvr seems to prefer making their own inspired versions of those characters.
(E.G. The Doctor's Frankenstein-esque halloween skin and The Hag's Creature from the Black Lagoon-esque Halloween skin.)
In fact, i'm highly counting on another Universal Monster inspired skin to appear again this halloween.
