Just remove slowdown perks. I don't want to be required to use situational perks based on luck or survivor mistakes anyway.

remove tunneling? but how? maybe they could make borrowed time base kit who knows
make DS 5 seconds and work on both hooks I guess? If basekit BT isn't enough and neither is OTR or buffed BT...
or go nuclear and just remove tunnelling all together but there's a risk of making the entire concept of hooks pointless especially things like basement.
-
Everything will be reverted in a couple months don't worry survivors will make sure of it

If you can't get to relative safety after being unhooked with baskeit BT and speedboost, an exhaustion perk, and OTR or new DS then your problem is a skill issue or just very bad luck. DS isn't meant to be a free escape from chase. It's meant to be a little boost to help you get to a loop.
After reading the forums it's clear most people want to be unkillable after getting unhooked. It would be simpler for behaviour to give survivors no collision and immunity to downs for 1 minute, until they touch a generator or progress the game.
It's a waste of time to keep playing around with numbers

Because its very easy to get 2-3 survivors injured at all times, its not as easy to get 4.
Let alone that the basekit 10 extra seconds is basically already 2 stacks of old thana anyway. Having 4 stacks of thana on the old 80 second gens was already large enough to slow down a game significantly. Having basically 6 stacks of thana on 80 second gens was a really hard game to win. Add the amount of time needed for mending(with basekit bt, mending is a lot more common and ensures thana for longer) and a perk like Thanatophobia is simply a snooze fest. Thats not even talking about perks like Gift of Pain, which is a scourge, requires a hook and then a heal.
Oh, did I forget to mention, you could stack them? Slap on Dying Light, Thana, Gift of Pain, STBFL, hook the obsession first and rush the rest. The obsession basically cant do gens if you keep the rest injured and they wont finish gens because you can down them super fast. Thats a 128 second solo gen for the obsession at almost all times, and 108 second gens for other survivors(increasing to 130 seconds solo gens)
After the change, 6%(3 survivors injured) would equal to 3.5 stacks of thana on the old gen speed. But the 4th injure would give a huge benefit.
Personally, I would have split it up like 6% for 1 stack, 2% for the second stack, 2% for the 3rd stack and 10% for the 4th stack
Lets not pretend pre-patch thana was strong ok
-
Too many naive enablers around here
-
If the basekit BT isn't enough, just use OTR in soloQ, unless you trust randoms with your life.
-
People act like all survivors are bots who just give you 100% up time on thana all game
-
RIP Thana Legion
-
These people want OTR to stack with basekit BT+haste and the new Dead Hard AND keep 5s DS
wow
-
The real win of this patch is people saying camping and tunnelling had counterplay, which is funny because they were all saying it didn't a month ago.

Or shouldn't have been removed.
The perk removal was good no one wants their perk slots held hostage by a BP bonus

WGLF is bad and promotes hook farming, it needs changes. If it comes back give us the option to kick other survivors in the face when they try to unhook.

That's not usually how it goes.
July has been a historically good month for DBD.
DBDs numbers have been dropping on steam for months, it's been dropping ever since MMR and Boons, long before the killer update. The anniversary created a bubble and now it's going back to pre-anniversary numbers (not there yet)
It doesn't mean anything other then the anniversary gave a boost and now things are going back to where they were. It will take months to see what effect it had, if any. Did people think there would be a massive surge of players?

There is no actual stealth anymore to "counter" tunneling.
Stealth still exists but if listening to a terror radius or hiding in a locker/bush is too difficult there are perks like Spine Chill and Distortion
It's easy to do and takes no skill, someone else will get tunnelled instead, unless everyone is doing the same thing (doubtful in soloQ) in which case enjoy your long boring game.

Do people want MMR to work properly though? I thought most people preferred MMR to be turned off because they viewed the game as more of a party game than a competitive one. Now I want to see a forum poll discussion of whether they prefer a fully working MMR or none at all.
Everyone seems to forget they adjusted the MMR multiple times already

@Veinslay said:
And killers that do that are graciously awarded with teabags in the exit gates!
Majority of the time survivors have no idea you were showing mercy and think they outplayed you, it's pretty funny.

Disagree.
It's that it's easy to do now.
So it was hard to do before huh?

As soon as Dead Hard was mentioned, this post lost all credibility. Nobody is throwing a fit over the DH nerf. Survivors have genuine and valid complaints and all killer mains can say in response is "YoUr jUsT mAd ThAt DeAd HaRd WaS nErFeD" without providing any actual counter arguments to said concerns. It's just getting ridiculous at this point.
just bait it out

Alright so we have to waste a perk slot just to combat a balance issue?
People were running BT and DS for years I think everyone can manage with a buffed version of self BT for a bit

Honestly believe half the basekit killer buffs will be reverted. Why they didn't do both the solo q icons and the killer buffs in the same patch I'll never understand.
That's exactly what I assume is gonna happen, they're going to revert the basekit buffs and gen speed. I don't really care as long as DH stays dead but they should delete the new DH as well, because survivors don't deserve any version of that perk.
-
It's not like they've never done it before lol

@RodDeWitt said:
killers trying to justify that need to camp and tunnel because they don't have a perk who gives them bloodpoints
Everyone was warned that most killers only used BBQ for the bloodpoints. The aura effect only helps high mobility killers, and that's if the survivor doesn't counterplay it.
Glad BBQ is gone because I never have to use it again
-
Why does it seem like the only people who are complaining about Killer queue times are the Survivors? Thanks for the concern everyone but it's fine.
-
Most Plagues and Legions were using thana before the patch so it's no surprise they're still using it after the patch.
Several Gen perks got nerfed so other killers are using gen perks that weren't nerfed.
-
Nothing we didn't already know
-
They need to censor Dead Hard it's very offensive

I kind of want to use it NOW because of the funny animation.
Fun fact, this forum contains more 3000 MMR players than it does DH users.
-
No one on this forum has ever used DH, it had the highest usage rate of any perk but none of us used it okay? Stop talking about DH.
-
I'd prefer if all generator altering perks and items were deleted and we got a base line generator speed that can't be altered in any way.
That's not gonna happen though, so if you limit slowdown perks to 1 or 2 they have to be strong enough on their own.
-
I wasn't using pop before I'm sure not gonna use it now
-
It's always been useful for sacrificing the rest of your team so you can escape or do challenges unharassed, it's good if you don't want to engage with the killer but not much else, and you're putting more pressure on your teammates for the most part.
-
Sure if you want to make all the survivors unkillable in endgame and screw over any killers who played "nice"

That's how I play killer. It's appreciated by my opponents and makes the trial about the search and the chase and it's much more fun for both sides.
I need real proof it works, if you are spreading hooks on everyone with zero slowdown and still getting kills you're playing against bad players as far as I'm concerned.
An official 1 month test and sharing the data would be real good. Then we can see just how "ez" killer is.

Thana is just another middle finger to solos. Camping, tunneling "viable strats". Stronger than ever. Gens take longer, chases are nerfed. Needed for SWF. Stacked slowdown, not going anywhere. Thana buffed. "It's just in your head, man". It's not.
They should disable all gen related perks for a month and give survivors immunity off hook until they do something to progress the game.
I want to see if spreading hooks is viable without slowdown (hAhA).

I don't think it's that serious anymore. I think it's meant to just be an excuse for a bunch of cross overs and cool stuff. It's horror smash Bros or fortnite
It can't be a serious horror survival experience with elements like fear or scares like you said while we have pink elephants rainbow LGBT flags and a shark eating a gen charm called bubbles.
DbD has an identity/theme issue. It wants to be everything
As it grew in popularity it changed from atmospheric horror survival to Fortnite but that's how all these big multiplayer games are

Im a legion main. I just lost to a legion
I REALLY want to press a point
Prepatch legion and Plague BOTH ran thana and no one cared.
Prepatch legion and plague- the rule was DONT heal and DONT cleanse
every single game since the patch "oh no its thana" really? you think that small buff changed things THAT much?!?! Both AS legion and against them I see survivors sitting there butts on totems and chests. just now i ran past TWO open chests, and after i died watch a steve do a totem. I dont CARE about how much longer it makes gen takes when half the players aren't even DOING the generators in the first place
More importantly, EVERY match I see people healing. EVERY match I see them cleansing. Go ahead and heal against legion. youre just going to get injured again, have to MEND again, then heal again if youre playing that way. There is a time to heal sure, but people are suddenly healing EVERY time, and cleansing EVERY time. It's infuriating hearing people complain about this when for no real reason everyone just stopped playing correctly.
Not to mention everyone ALSO complaining about the camping and tunneling, and legion is the WORST KILLER IN THE GAME FOR CAMPING AND TUNNELING. Literally if legion tunnels you their ENTIRE KIT becomes disabled, and you are just playing against another survivor who has a knife. point blank.
Killers cannot win for losing in this game when it comes to complaints. seriously. "we hate campers and tunnellers but we ALSO hate the ONE killer who cannot do that thing because that killer is slightly more annoying than usual". That is the entire argument.
Survivors have been crying about BBQ for years they don't understand the game at all, it doesn't matter if Legions play style promotes spreading hits. They'd rather be be camped and tunnelled by a Nurse then mend.
-
@HugTheHag said:
I think it's fair game to blame killers when it comes to tunneling and camping at five gens, especially since it's hard to communicate as solo and especially in low mmr where survivors are flailing around doing their best but it not being enough (very low % of people willingly throwing games here, just... being new. And therefore bad. Being new against (even bad) killers has become very very lethal.)
That being sad, I'm a bit tired of people hating on Legion (as if they were not hated enough pre update ! I had so many DCs and suicides before the update already) because of Thana. This perk was always good on them, it got even better, sure. But Legion is still not that lethal, and at least their power makes it so that they rarely tunnel.
I personally don't run Thana on Legion, I prefer Nurse's Calling because in low mmr people still heal against Legion and therefore gens don't pop that fast anyway.
There's no way for a killer to know who's SWF and who's Solo, there's no way to know if you got matched vs noobs or seal team 6. Can't expect killers to adjust their play style mid match because by then it's too late. if it's a problem mechanics need to prevent it, we can't rely on self policing.
They play how they want to win and if you pick a weak killer in the first place you're already taking it easy on your opponent.

OTR is mitigated by camping, actually! Throw in a few stacks of STBFL and you've barely got a chance at a chase unless you happened to get hooked by some good resources. Killers who really don't like a survivor and know/assume they have OTR won't wait out BT, they'll go for the hit ASAP to get it out of the way and have an easier time downing them.
The game didn't really change at all. Guess what I was proxy camping with STBFL before patch, its been one of my favourite perks in the current meta of impossible to defend gen rushing. The entire game has revolved around hook camping for about a year.
OTR is a better version of BT because it doesn't rely on teammates and you have the added bonus of haste from the basekit unhook. They could possibly revert the 2 second nerf on DS stun.
Simple fact is the game barely changed, all the same strategies for both sides still work and the meta stayed exactly the same. Some slowdown perks had a name change and Borrowed Time is now called OTR. Genrush/Tunnel/Proxy/Force hook states.

@Biscuits said:
Basement has become an inevitable death this patch, if no one on your team runs baseline BT. Smart killers just body block you and count to 6, if you aren't running OTR and don't have BT, you die. If you get hooked in basement in the endgame now, gg, get a better gaming chair.
So run OTR

a survivor playing killer is a protest alone. One survivor main playing killer is 5 more survs needed
It's a risky move, if all the survivors switch to killer it might skew the data and killers will end up receiving more buffs.

As someone who has never used Dead Hard I find this patch to be outrageous, there was nothing wrong with DH, it was perfectly fine. The 0.3 attack cooldown combined with 10 second increase to generator repairs have turned every game into a massacre.
Killers are unstoppable and I'm quitting the game to play Stardew Valley until I see major changes.

Thanks for speaking the truth in a world of lies OP

Thana actually needs buffs if people expect every killer to be limited to one gen perk per build

Legion and plague?
I don't know about you but I never ran thana on Plague or Legion without atleast 1 other gen perk EG: Ruin/Pent/PainRes.
Thana by itself is useless
-
Killers were stacking slowdowns with thana before the patch.
Who would run thana by itself ever? lol
