I stand corrected. Thank you for the information AlphaJackson. I wonder how they got around Sony's "no ptb" stance though. Maybe Sony softened their stance? Very interesting.

I wasn't even aware of it myself until I bought the game, since they haven't appeared to advertise it at all, not even on the case of the game (since I'm a big fan of games on disk, don't judge me). It wasn't until I put the game into my console when it came up the option to download the PTB. It seem to be lacking in playerbase too, I imagine from people either not caring or not being aware.

  • From both ends of the spectrum I disagree with this, call me a survivor main if you want, but I'm a big fan of balance and this just seems overkill, this isn't a baseline Ruin mechanic, it's a flatout nerf to survivors across the board, as a perk Ruin can be argued to be powwerful, but as baseline regardless of how nerfed it is it will be opaf.

  • That'd be a big oof, but at the same time Piggy is best killer, so if y'all dont like him; I'll happily guide each of you into Piggy godhood ;)

  • The only two perks I would argue are better in T1 or T2 are Discordance and Devour Hope. Otherwise the perks are for sure worse when not T3, so any buff to their T1 and T2 vetsions is welcome.

There are alot of reasons it will never happen. Not the least of which is Sony and Microsoft both saying no to it. PUBG is kind of an odd case as it gets a PTB on Xbox but not PS4. This is most likely do to the publisher though (Microsoft publishes PUBG on Xbox).

Microsoft and Sony, if they were to even entertain the idea, would probably treat it like a new game and would review it as such. Average review time on a new game is 10 to 15 business days or 2 to 3 weeks (if everything passes). The PTBs usually last 2 weeks. So console would get the PTB after the PC, thus postponing the release of the DLC on consoles in turn as they can only submit one code for review at a time with both companies.

I believe cost might also play a factor as both companies charge for these reviews (cost determined by size of the file submitted according to my research into this and other related topics. Not a ton of info out there, but there is some).

I wish it was feasible because, as stated, PC, PS4, and Xbox are all different and a minor bug on PC can make the game unplayable on the other 2 but, sadly, it's not.

Pubg does indeed have a PTB on PS4, take it from me, I have the actual game.

  • Why all the controvesy, this is the PTB so why shouldn't we be allowed to look into these changes, it wont hurt the game state since it's not final release and so devs are at liberty to change whatever they want. As a console pleb I can neither agree nor disagree with the changes, but I will say that perhaps the changes should be done in the PTB to see how good or bad the changes are, since it's not affecting the game as a whole.

  • Pig: Farm your friend or be inflicted with MYC, live or die, make your choice.

Feng: I like cute asian girls...

  • Devs, come on, really? Spies From The Shadows:

This is for sure a QoL change, not sure you ever had spies equipped while in a chase, it's not fun for the killers eyes or ears, this is far from a nerf.

  • I've never felt an urge to put an RBT on somebody so badly, this crime must be punished!

@Shad03 is that a Pig tsundere I see?

  • They could either release the test build as a seperate game, case in point Pubg which includes a PTB as a seperate game, and so is updated sepertly from the main game.

  • Legion, Legion, Legion, Legion... if you like salt mining that is, otherwise wait for Plague I would say.

More blinks will allow you to mess upmore.

For maps, choose flat maps without several floors and without corn.

Dodge SWF and stealth skins aswell as toolboxes

While having more blinks lets you blink more, it lacks discipline, I would rather buff the two blinks as opposed to having more, quality over quantity in a sense. Should you learn Nurse with many blinks it is very possable to become dependant on them, so when they run out and you have no clue for only two blinks, since you dont have that saftey blanket anymore.

  • Personally I dont run extra blinks on my Nurse, once you run out of them they mess with your muscle memory, otherwise all I would say is play Nurse to play Nurse, not for a trophy, I got my adept achievement on accident while I was just trying to get good with her. Nurse isn't like any other killer in that she isn't M1, so all you can do is play her and improve.

@Orion @AlphaJackson You guys do know that Hangman's Trick affects how fast Bear Traps respawn, right?

i know, im saying it SHOULD, i think it was a dumb decision.

Just because you grinded the same doesnt mean you should get legacy, as the grind doesnt reflect time played, those with legacy were there from the very beggining, from year1, say in 5 years time somebody had been playing for 3 years, why should they be allowed to egt legacy over the person who has been playing for 7 years?

so you believe it is a big no-no rewarding 10k hours of playing as satisfied customers?

Not with something as powerful as a fifth perk slot, should it be rewarded sure, but it shouldn't influence gameplay.

  • I know where you're coming from but no, those who have legacy should keep legacy exculsive to themselves. Anybody still playing since legacy deserve to keep their exclusive; I am in favor of devotion rewards, however I dont think giving Legacy is the right way about it.

With Hangman's Trick, you don't need to slug nor care about where you hook them.

Maybe it doesn't work for you because you have better map awareness than I do, but I have a very poor sense of orientation, so it's useful for me.

Perhaps, or either I'm more toxic in my willingness to slug, so I see no real need for Hangmans.

  • Nah, DS needs to give the killer amnesia, and also DeleteSystem32

  • Nea- trash,

    Dwight p3- annoying,

    Ace- Tru3 wannabe,

    Meg high top- toxic

    thats about it for me.

But hooks broken by sacrifices do not respawn... unless you use Hangman's Trick. Iron Grasp is worthless, doesn't even add two seconds of wiggle time.

But I wouldn't hook everybody in a corner unless I know that there's reachable hooks, otherwise I'll slug to win. Most times they either crawl under a hook or bleedout.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/349873#Comment_349873

Honestly, I found it to be quite useful. Prevents deadzones intentionally created by survivors and all around guarantees you will never run out of hooks.

I never found a good use of it, perks like Iron Grasp or Agitation seem to stop any deadzones anyway, plus you can always wait out the survivor if you slug them in their area, just wait for a hook to spawn. Providing they're last survivor that is.

  • Well Hangman's trick is a perk that exists...

  • I'm pretty sure the purpose of a streaming mode isn't for us regular players, but as the name would imply for streamers, as to avoid witch hunting and the likes. So from reading this thread most of you have missed the point, also it's not mandatory to use it, just a QoL thing for streamers with a large following I suppose, so why not, why no streaming mode.

New killers, DLCs and Store fodder are what generates revenue. Fixing their game don't. That's why there won't be any "Operation Health" for DbD.

Bruh, op health was so bad oml XD worst six months of a games development I've ever seen, yet I still put over 1600hours into that trash game lol.

But to OP, even if the devs did try to push out "fixes" no matter what they do it would be met with hostility; from the whole community, as making a fix for the core game mechanics isn't as easy as one would imagine, as even one wrong move and suddenly Killer is op, or genrushing gets a hit of meth. I myself know just from trying to write an essay on the game, that changing the system to benefit both partys while bot being tedious is very difficult, as it is easy to be biased towrd your preferd side.

  • My fav killers as of right now are

    1. Amanda, I just click with her, I love playing with her and against her, I find her kit so useful and fun to play, if you know what you're doing she is easily a very good anti-loop and always fun to play against :)
    2. Bubba, I love bubba, but not because of Bubba himself, but because of the way that I play him; by that I mean as toxic as possable, he is easily a top tier salt miner, and any time I play him, I rejoice in the post game messaging that inssues.
    3. Nurse, I'm not the best with Nurse and I'm not the worst with her, I tend to enjoy playing here alot and never find myself bored with her. In trying to play her I also found a new respect for those who are good with Nurse, and never complain regardless of how good or bad they are.

As for survivors I dont really have a list, my top is Feng, first character I got to P3-50 and will forever be my main G.

Who the heck is afraid of billy/nurse because they are fast in traversing the map, if that's your point then by this logic the other killer's aren't scary because they have no presence.

Which is true, most killers aren't scary because they lack presence, but if you give the presence of Billy and Nurse to everybody, then all of a sudden it becomes standard, not scary.

  • @MhhBurgers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/348529#Comment_348529

Are you serious? Billy has a 1sec windup instadown ability that you can turn around corners with if you're good catching up to people who ppl like LF would not be able to catch up to. Nurse teleports through walls and can literally down you in 5 seconds even if you're trying to use the initial after-hit sprint to get away.

    Are you serious?

Ok, I understand what you mean, but I think you're missing my point, what I mean is that they become alot less scary every killer can preform in a very similar way to them, the whole problem of Billy being fast is lost when every killer does the same thing, this applys to others as well irl, like how things which are more common are cheaper and rarer items are more expensive, only replace the price with fear factor, and item with killer. You understand what I'm getting at here?

  • Next killer is a necromancer confirmed

Aesthetically I think the bar has been set now. The babylonian theme is so damn cool.

I'd like the next few killers to avoid the 20th century too. Give us medieval, old norse, ancient egyptian, mayan, aztec, ancient chinese killers too.

The Mummy from Ben10 as next killer plz XD

For real that would be awesome.

Personally I would love if you bought the Joey and Susie skins (before or after) you P3 the Legion, you get their weapons and cosmetics as well. Sucks that they didn't.

lol, another post hijacked by the league of legions.

  • Then what would the point of billy be is a huntress could charge around the map at the excessive speeds with IH or Exhaustion add-ons. Or even say Trapper setting up in a matter of seconds. It defeats the purpose of killers like Billy or Nurse, who apply pressure through their speed and so removing their unique power also removes their whole thing, therein making them useless.

  • @AshleyWB said:

So my idea is bad because I'm a survivor main (which I'm not). And I'm angry because ds is being changed (don't use it)

Survivors get no inversed progression for my version of ruin (they do, they get set back whenever they fail to hit a great skill check)

    I'm incorrect (you can't read)

I'm was using your own way of speaking against you, using presumptions and also putting words in your mouth. But now that I know you're a "killer main" then this just proves that you for sure dont understand mechanics. If you dont like Ruin leave it, and if you think this change is good then you're wrong, only because I feel bad for you I'll paste my previous post here

"So a generator with one person takes 80 seconds to complete, leaving us at 1.25% progression per second. It would take 10 seconds per 12.5% on the gen up until the first skill check where you get an extra 7% progress, 7% equating to around 5.6 seconds of progress, multiply that by 7 as you would only have 7 of the skillchecks which you can find if you graph your idea. So in all we get 39.2 seconds of extra progress, take that away from 80 we have 40.2 seconds."

The maths doesn't lie, you're buffing survivors not hurting them, which I'm not sure you realise is the goal of the survivor, even if you keep regression it would only count for at most 40% regression if you dont great skill check each time, which equates to an extra 32 seconds at most. In short the regression is lower than the progression given by the change.

  • @AshleyWB said:

@AlphaJackson I didn't put words in your mouths I generalised your opinions because they are what you have said.

My idea is not a bad idea you just refuse to be constructive with the many other bigheaded deranged legions. Orion was decent enough to be constructive and offer fair suggestions.

😠Your idea is very bad and wrong, I cannot allow you to suggest a rework for ruin because I need it to play killer.😠

I didnt suggest anything, I proved you wrong. I proved that your idea only gave survivors progression not the inverse which is the purpose of Ruin. There is nothing general about Ruin being boring, nobody said it was. Look just because your DS is getting nerfed doesnt mean Ruin should too, say as you like but you are wrong, I already made my point on why you are incorrect, so it is up to you to not be ignorant and look back. Otherwise you're just trying to make the game worse and I'm sorry but you're idea is absolute garbage.

  • runs into corn

    F**KING DIES

lmao, that would be pretty funny. imagine, just touching the corn, you get so poisoned that your surv is deleted from the game code. hehehehhe.

  • @AshleyWB said:

Ahem. Did they say ruin isn't boring to play...yes

Did they get all defensive and victimised when I suggested a rework...yes

They might have well said it's the most exciting perk ever. They are adamant that a rework never sees the light of day.

You didn't suggest a rework, you suggested a nerf. And not everybody here is a killer main either, case in point myself; also pleas stop putting words in the mouths of people who proved your idea bad and wrong.

  • What about me? I'm important!

    nah jk, but for real

@Nickenzie is one of the most positive and constructive people on the forums. For sure a top person on the forums :)

  • @AshleyWB said:

    @AlphaJackson Can you not read?

When I said effectiveness I meant it for the killer being able to use ruin to defend gens properly and effectively.

In ruins current state you can get anything from 0 to 20 hex skill checks per person per generator. How is a base 8 for every survivor on every gen a nerf? It isn't.

Stop acting so violated because I suggest a change to a perk you likely rely on. Stop going off on a tangent and read what I said.

I mathematically proved how your suggestion makes Ruin worse, perhaps it is you who cannot read. I never diverted off a tangent, nor do I need Ruin, how about you read my previous post that shows you are wrong. I stayed on topic, and you're ignoring my point.

  • @AshleyWB said:

@EntityDispleased This is about Ruin being boring and required to be in killer loadout if you want to defend gens effectively.

No, no, no, no. This has nothing to do with gen being done effectively. You made an idea which outright ruins, Ruin. It does the inverse of Ruins purpose, you in trying to "fix" it just made it worse in any case. It isn't required to use, and with this nobody would use it, it would be the worst and most useless perk in the game. If you think otherwise there is some serious problems in realising the flow of the game.

You have no concept of how Ruin is meant to function, and I myself as a survivor find Ruin no more boring than being in a chase, Ruin adds a problem to the game, something to be mindful of, not brainless fixing a gen without penalty, and if this was brought in, you would never see another Ruin again.

  • This is a huge nerf to Ruin, I despise this idea alot and I'm a survivor player. This doesn't slow generators, it speeds them up; if you believe otherwise your maths is flawed. For convenience sake lets say there's a good high rank player who hits all great skill checks.

So a generator with one person takes 80 seconds to complete, leaving us at 1.25% progression per second. It would take 10 seconds per 12.5% on the gen up until the first skill check where you get an extra 7% progress, 7% equating to around 5.6 seconds of progress, multiply that by 7 as you would only have 7 of the skillchecks which you can find if you graph your idea. So in all we get 39.2 seconds of extra progress, take that away from 80 we have 40.2 seconds.

So in short by hitting all great skill checks you reduce the time needed for a single person to complete a gen by almost 50% where as with ruin now it slows down progress by an insane amount as in 80 seconds still if you hit ALL great skill check. So I'm sorry, but your idea is very bad.

*assuming i don't know how to play her

*gets consistent 4k's at rank 3 (highest i've been because i don't care about rank)

    *suprised pikachu face.

But on a serious note the one thing that makes nurse so good is her ability to know where survivors are within her vision, and immediately travel to them to attack them. this simply opens up more blindspots for survivors to hide within.

I dont follow, define "know where survivors are in her vision" you realise that every killer knows where a survivor they can see is? Not like Nurse is the only killer with eyes. Also, you cant change direction midblink, so what do you mean by "immidiatly attack them" If anything Nurse is bad at tracking thanks to fatigue. Like I said earlier, Nurse is in a good place with how hard she is to play, just because you cant braindead loop her or escape easily providing the player is a good player.

on another note, can somebody get the "killer main btw meme" up in here? I feel it's appropriote.

  • Just imagine the tuft of hair myers...

  • Head-on, SC, No Mither, Sabo for the ultimate meme perk loadout

    insert omegalul here

  • Possably, but I highly doubt it, sounds more like the effect of an addon imho. It wouldn't be a bad addon tho, Btech MYC.

  • Have Calm Spirit stop your heartbeat showing up to Legions feral frenzy.

  • I feel your pain, I wish you luck my guy ^_^

  • Is this a SWF buff? seems like it, sorry, but I don't agree with these changes, tbh Nurse is in a good spot right now, is she powerful within good hands? Yes, but she has an incredibly high skill floor, as in bad hands or moderate even she can preform very poorly, high risk high reward.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 21
