They tweeted about this - the Archives have been disabled due to a progression saving issue.
-
Like, what was even the point of the delay if they disabled the new content anyway?
-
They tweeted about it: Archives have been temporarily disabled due to a progression saving issue.

They just tweeted about it. The archives have been disabled due to a progression saving issue lmfao
Even after the delay they still didnt get it right smdh
-
Why even bother with a PTB if they go this hard-core anyway. I thought the PTB changes made them useless but this is just OTT and actually funny...
Is it me or is it just hilarious that the more common addons seem to be better on almost everything these days?
-
Ì do it as an offering to the killer. If they were nice to me or something I like to leave them a little present.
-
Rank rewards would be an amazing staring point to fix a lot of balance issues in this game. People have no incentive to rank up as it is - so you have skilled players at lower ranks because its easy mode and they cant be bothered.

It doesn't really matter if they have a Q&A or not, they''ll pick the easy and non-important questions as usual.
And fill over half the stream with fan art...
Dont get me wrong - some of it is great but its not exactly why most people watch those streams...
-
Devs said they wont be doing any other modes any time soon.
I'm against 2v8 in general. I think it could be far too killer or survivor sided without a lot of changes and I dont know how they can do that...
Killers could just get a down and while one killer camps/proxy-camps the other can just pick up others to add to the collection.
Survivors can do what they do now - gen rush. Even if thats the case 10 gens already seems over bearing. If they add more gens thats taking the already boring M1 simulator to a new level...
On the surface it seems fine and interesting but its just not really feasible. It would take far far too much work to balance 2v8 independently to the current 4v1 and from what we've seen they're struggling with that alone...

I heard this had to do with the company having a power outage. Maybe next time they'll use backup generators instead of starting from scratch again.
A lot of us thought the outage was a factor but apparently not. At most that would have set them back a day.
They stated that the reason for the delay was due to game errors that they deemed unacceptable. That would take more than a day to fix...

You do have a 50% chance of finding the hatch as well :)
Not true.
Survivors move slower than the killer.
Survivors need to try and not be detected while searching for the hatch. The killer doesnt.

@Zoso : "because 2 survivors working on 2 different gens is much more efficient than 2 survivors working on the same gen."
Not logical at all but so true in DbD !
The high rank survivors don't use 'Spine Chill' because it isn't a perk to stay healthy during the chases & 'Spine Chill' doesn't help survivors to make it against killers. And at high ranks, the length of the chases are fundamental: if you can't loop too well/long, your team can loose for that.
He is correct. Two or more survivors working on a gen receive a penalty to progression speed. Its actually faster for two survivors to work on gens separately than if they work together.
I dont think Spine Chill is used much because most killers have a terror radius that survivors can merely listen out for. And for the ones that dont they can just pan with their camera.

Playing Steve while injured and crouching still...he still makes so much noise.
Maybe the reason why people think Steves are targeted by the killer is because they can probably hear him a mile away.
Trying to get Adept Steve but my luck is so bad, now I'm here ranting about what has killed me practically everytime.
If you think Steve is loud you should try Feng or Bill. I have to use Iron Will on those two or I get a migraine from the loud moaning/grunting....
-
Its a good strat but you could do more. I start the gate but stop just before the first light turns on (around the letter "E"). Then I wait for the killer to check the gate. Once they leave finish the gate. That should help you a lot.

BL not being useful doesn't lead to a map being bad for survivors when you don't need to run any exhaustion perks in the first place.
It's also okay for Lithe, it doesn't affect Sprint Burst/DH/Adrenaline.
I didnt mean it was solely bad due to this. I meant that this, in conjunction with the points outlined in the post quoted, contribute to it being a bad map.

Some time ago, I don't remember exactly, I would have to look up several patch notes.
Shelter Woods now has enough pallets if you use them reasonably and don't waste time when somebody else is getting chased. Dead zones are a normal part of maps, you can't expect to be safe everywhere.
Its still garbage though. BL is almost useless unless you use the basement in the shack or run to the tree which is a dead zone...

Give up, they are not going to grasp your concept. It would indeed be a nice QOL change OP and would just go along with other things already stopping their timer when a condition is met = Pig Trap timer stopping when in terrorradius, mending not going down when in terror radius. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to make the timer stop ticking, once you start to kick the generator.
Just because we dont agree with the concept doesnt mean we dont understand it.

@lynelmane said:
I was on Springwood, can't remember the version of the preschool. I think I took too long going around a building because of a pallet that I didn't have time to break.
I'm still loving how you're saying that I won't grind for the higher tier when I just said that I've been trying.
So you know of a way to add 10 seconds onto a timer you initially only wanted to pause for 1-2 seconds and are actively using the in game mechanics to do so?
So... A QoL change for something that is objectively worse than the obvious solution (which youre working on) would simply be unnecessary imho.
-
Please stop making assumptions. If I mean to say something I will say it. I suggest you do the same so we can avoid any confusion. Can we agree on that much?
QoL change or rework doesnt matter. It is completely unnecessary when you could just get the higher tier of the perk.
I also dont understand how you could have been short on time if you went straight for the gen after the hook. Thats 50 seconds to get there. What map were you on? I cant think of a single map where you count make that journey with even tier 1 of the perk. Did you either crouch your way there or take time to break pallets/chase survivors.
Once again, the perk doesnt need to be changed, "QoL" or rework, because you wont grind for the higher tier or cant manage your time efficiently.

In assuming you didn't read anything I said in other comments. I've grinded 20+ levels after getting level 2 and it won't show up.
Please don't insult me, it's not nice. I never once said I didn't want to grind for it.
I've grinded 20+ levels after getting level 2
So youre level 22+? I assume thats a typo. But with the Bloodweb changes after level 40, and once you reach level 50, you shouldnt have too much trouble getting the perks you want/need.
Again, please dont look to change something because you dont want to do what other people do - grind the tier you need/want.
PS
Yes, I have read your responses. I dont see anything of value or to sway towards your argument. The only note I can see is you dont like travelling far distances after you hook. Either hook the person closer to the gen you want to kick or kick a closer gen...

It's rude to assume I'm lazy. The game literally won't give me level 3 of the perk in my bloodweb.
It seems a valid assumption. Its literally impossible for the bloodweb to withhold perks/tiers from you. Just invest the necessary bloodpoints into it and you will have it.
This is the equivalent of a survivor complaining about the exhaustion timer on a tier 1 perk and not wanting to grind for the higher tier. What would your reaction be to that?
If you want to get rid of tiers all together I could almost get behind that but to just want to rework an entire perk because you dont want to grind the higher tier is selfish imo.
-
Just no.
Get the higher tier if youre struggling with what you have. The entire perk doesnt need a rework because youre too lazy to get the higher tier of the perk...
-
Not sure why... I find this particularly true for Steves (rip Scoops Steves out there).
Before Steve it was Ash and before him it was Laurie...
Dont know why these characters in general seem to give some killers tunnel vision. Guess theres a few mains out there that got an upper hand and left them salty?

I have played this game for a long time. Just recently i have noticed that dbd has gone mad. Pallets seem to have doubled. There are infinite loops and vaults. This is all good against randoms but not swf. My personal view. Playing solo should increase your rewards. Swf is too ez, 4 people carrying each other vs 1 person. What has this game become. Running in circles, what skill. Not even stealth... just why i brought a horror game. No body is scared.. the killers are not scary, the experience has got tidious and boring. For every 1 hook a gen gets done, do the maths. I never know a horror game where the survivors bully the killers. Mental. As a killer on xbox at rank 9 to 1 im put up against rank 1, 2 and 3s. So much of this game needs fixing. New mechanics forget stupid cosmetics.
I dont know when you started playing exactly but a lot of the problems you've listed have actually been addressed since the games implementation and should be much easier for you than it previously has been.
Pallets seem to have doubled.
The number of pallets in each match have been dramatically decreased so I'm not sure where youre getting this idea from. Theres fewer pallets per match now than there ever was. In fact, the remaining pallets are far more unsafe than they had previously been.
There are infinite loops and vaults.
What has this game become. Running in circles, what skill.
Infinites are basically gone. Thanks to bloodlust theres not really any infinites anymore. If you remember back to when the game first released and you could literally just loop the killer shack windows forever... Even with Balanced Landing on Haddonfield theres still no real inifinites anymore...
Not even stealth... just why i brought a horror game.
Unfortunately I agree with this one... But the Devs have actively removed stealth from the game. Their idea of fun is the Cat & Mouse aspect of the chase - not the survivoal/stealth which actually drew a lot of people into the game. With aura reading perks like BBQ and perks like discordance, whispers, stridor, rancor, etc its not really possible to hide anymore. Even the healing nerf has triggered a "no heal meta" where is easier to just chunk gens than to take the time to heal.
So much of this game needs fixing. New mechanics forget stupid cosmetics.
I agree there is a lot of work needed. They seem to take one step forward and two steps back. For starters, they need to revert the healing nerf if killers are to have any hope of survivors doing anything other than chunk out gens. Time survivors waste dong other things than gens is valuable time for killers.

I remember in a Dev Stream last year there was a glitch while they were playing as David - his bearded cosmetic glitched to white/grey and it looked amazingly like hot Santa! It helped that the David was shirtless and wearing the red pants at the time also...
As for Mrs Claus I think it needs to be The Hag! Ever since the Dead By Daylight Christmas Thriller video its all I've wanted!
-
Pros (for Survivors):
- Multiple gens being worked on at once.
- More ground being covered to help locate hex totems faster.
- If a teammate is discovered and being chased it wont effect you or other survivors while working on objectives (at least not for a while)
- More efficient - a penalty is added to speed for a gen being worked on by multiple survivors (without Prove Thyself)
Pros (for Killers):
- First gen wont progress as fast.
- Likely to find a survivor faster and without needing to cover as much ground.

Killers have Mori. Survivors have keys.
If anything I think keys are currently healthier than moris. Keys reward survivors for completing their objective. The more of the objective the better the survivors can be rewarded - up until a point of diminishing returns (all gens completed - whats the point of using the hatch?). Moris can reduce the work a killer carries out by well over 2/3rds (chases, health states, hook states, carrying to hook, etc) while severely crippling the opposition.

@NerfFireUp said:
or at least they should only work for one survivor after the killer has closed the hatch. they provide a free escape for survivors who don't deserve it.
Your post confuses me. If the hatch was opened and a player escaped and then you closed the hatch - that means at max 3 players are left with all gens done. To re-open the hatch another key of rare or higher quality is required. Not to mention that the exit gates are now also powered. The odds of two rare or higher keys being found in a match are pretty darn low. If they brought them into the match you should have been able to see this from the loading screen and prepared accordingly.
I understand keys can be frustrating at times but I dont think they need adjusting. Not as of yet anyway. They are a mechanic which can greatly change the outcome of a match and I think that variation is needed for a game like DbD so matches dont become even more repetitive.

I've seen killers in a chase with an injured survivor, get Head-On'd and then go for the Head-On'er. Then get Head-On'd again and redirect to Head On'er #2

What stings the most is the reasoning they gave for the delay. They didnt say it was due to anything unexpected raised from the PTB (rift fragments, challenge difficulty, nurse, medkits, etc) or even the power outage causing loss of work. All they said was general bugs. Which makes me even more bitter that with some obvious issues clearly raised by the community are being ignored.
The patch should have been ready weeks before the due date. And leaving it to the day before the event to tell us is total BS.
Even if the patch isnt ready to go they could still do the event but have the serums separate (still on the rift). That way those of us who had planned a few days for the event arent completely screwed... Heck - even if reusing some old skins/offerings is too much for them the very least they could do at this stage is a double BP event to try and make it up to the community.

So only Consoles are not on dedicated servers...? Really? Wow...
They're not live as in released. They're just being forced on PC players for testing (Switch has them because the Switch doesnt have the capability to host). They are not perfect and a lot of people are asking to be reverted back until they are better.

Honestly I wish they'd actually lock other killers except for the brand new one when they have a DLC PTB or a PTB focusing on a specific killer. Like, during Nurse PTB I encountered way more Spirits and Huntress' even though that hadn't been changed at all. During the Stranger Things PTB I met way more Spirits and Hillbillys than Demo. Some of them rocking the strongest addons and moris. That's an easy DC from me, cause I came to the PTB to test the new stuff, not to test someones Prayer Beads, Ebony Mori Spirit.
They have to let players use other killer/perk combos to see how the new perks/changes can be used with other killer abilities.
As for specific killer changes, like the nurse, that would get pretty stale fast for everyone. And if people get bored they wouldnt try the other changes such as survivor item changes or the rift to their full potential.
-
@PalletOrWhat said:
They should just change the addon. Every Killer should have strong addons imo, but this one is just boring.
I agree that every killer should have strong addons but I dont think the devs thought some of the combos through properly. I'm fine with iri heads but make it a max 1 hatchet - disable infantry belt with it. Thats when it goes too far.

Huntress: The Archivist... How do I begin to explain The Archivist?
Jane: The Archivist is flawless.
The Clown: He has two Insta heals and Eboni Moris.
Meg: I hear his addons are insured for 10,000BP.
Trapper: I hear he does perk commercials... In Japan.
Tapp: His favorite movie is Friday the 13th.
Feng: One time he met Nea on a plane...
Wraith: And she told him he was pretty.
Nea: One time he punched Laurie in the face... It was awesome.

I define "sweaty" to be when the killer drags out the game without good reason. When they slug with no idea where the other survivor is and its 45mins of picking eachother up, etc. because the killer is determined to get a 4k without even risking closing the hatch, etc...
-
If the goal was player engagement or to reward those who play often they would.
The current model doesnt seem to align with that and seems to be more predatory and monetarily focused. They are a business after all so we cant be surprised... How long until BHVR becomes the next Blizzard>
-
Its supposed to have increased chances this close to the release.
Even right after release the map wasnt being selected that often.
-
Rank should go back to 20 for everyone and be reset every 2 months instead of every 1
That would be terrible. Its the reason they removed the ability to derank below rank 15 - killers and survivors were taking advantage of it to bully and harass newer players.
-
I like rank reset as it allows me to more easily get achievements.
That said, they definitely need a rank rewards system in the game... Even if its jsut a BP/Shard reward for every rank you reach the first time you reach it during the season
-
@AshleyWB said:
For clarification you could get 28k in Bloodpoints and you can still get ENTITY DISPLEASED as a result. It's just so inaccurate and it frustrates me.
I 100% agree. I think "Entity Displeased" should only be for games where you dont actually participate (or maybe where you hook nobody). Aside from the whole killer emblem system needing an obvious overhaul, the wording does nothing for a lot of decent killers.

Spoken like a true survivor main.
Decisive Strike allows you to get away with extremely reckless plays that would otherwise be suicidal. It's rarely used for its actual intended purpose of preventing tunneling.
I dont main either side. If I know theres DS I eat it - I dont encounter too many in low rank games I play and if there is it doesnt effect me (because I dont tunnel). Its easily countered. Yes it can be annoying but dont fall for the bait. Its like when a survivor teabags - theyre trying to bait you into chasing them so their team can do objectives. Dont fall for the obvious bait and dont tunnel. Or slug if you feel the need to play that way...
-
Literally just dont tunnel. Go for the unhooker or even slug. It has many work arounds (much like NOED). Stop complaining that you cant tunnel off the hook... Sheesh.
-
I think you lost too much time on setup. I would maybe suggest corrupt intervention when playing trapper/hag (maybe even demo). It allows you to set up your traps early without survivors being able to work on (and almost complete) distant gens. It works for me - give it a try and let me know what you think.
-
Grim Pantry is very killer sided imho. Survivors can never find totems on it - ruin and DH and its an easy 4k =D
The Estate is also pretty good too. Very good totem spots and not much BL either. Plus survivors seem to always get stuck in the bamboo XD
-
I mean... If you ate 3 out of 3 DS's doesnt that imply a certain level of tunneling...?
I mean one can happen in an average game, 2 potentially... but to get hit by all 3?
