Mori's are not OP
Hawkins has a literal pallet army
you had me until the mori part... Even I can acknowledge how OP and unfair moris are. At most the ebony one should do what the ivory one does. Theres no logical reason why we should be able to just remove someone from the match after just one hook - let alone remove all 4 after they've been hooked once. I dont understand the fun in that. Even with sweaty SWFs I like to win fairly.
As for Hawkins - it has pallets but only one of them is actually safe. Any other pallet is an instant hit.

it doesn't work if they 99% it
Down the person, open the gate yourself and then hook them. Boom! Profit!

I dont think what the guy wants is to open the door himself , he just doesnt think its right for survivors to be able to 99 doors and come back for a teammate and then take hits and escape with just a tap on the door .
The EGC was designed to stop the game from going on forever. Its not designed specifically to give you kills - just to encourage the survivors to leave when the game has finished.
-
if they make "small" changes to base killer stats they have to revamp every add-on to coincide with those changes otherwise things could very easily snowball.
-
You can just open the gate yourself. This change would be unnecessary.

He has add-ons that decrease how far away you can be to break him out. That's why it's not always the same.
yeah i get that but I've had games where he's stalking somebody and I crawl up beside him and am literally touching him but cant reveal him
-
I just wish breaking him out of stealth was more consistent... Sometimes i'm staring face to face and nothing! Othertimes it feels like i'm breaking him through walls =/

No, I'm complaining about how boring and annoying it is to go against people who do that. I'd rather have a fun game and only get a 2k than a 4k playing with idiots like these.
A lot of survivors complain about killers that camp and tunnel. But its a strat that can be useful at times. Youre basically complaining about the survivor equivalent (though head on is much worse in this instance)

@Xerge said:

Not at all, because when the only objective survivors have is using head on over and over again just to be annoying as #########, gens do not matter anymore; I once played with a team that told me in post game chat that they didn't care about gens, so that means they just cared about being a pain in the ass.
So youre complaining about being handed an easy win by survivors that dont care about gens...?

umm i would be easily be rank one by now for the amount of survivors that dc on me and free pips i would get, approximately, every 10 matches ill get 1 all survivors dcs, 1 3survivor dc, 2 2survivor dcs, and 3/4 one survivor dcs, about 3/10 games i get do i get 0 dcs, its quite dissapointing, but i believe giving free pips for dcing would be too good of a benefit, as that would give me an average of 11.5 free pips per 10 games for doing literally nothing different, also, most dcs are either at the start (least likely), when the survivor is about to die (most likely) or neer the end of the game, which means id get the score of the survivor + the extra pip. although i do agree with your second statement, as a 650 bloodpoint bonus per survivor dc is not worth the wait for the game, and dont get me started how annoying it is for the killer to dc in a match, as you have to find anather match all over again, but i belive that a pip per survivor with a max of 2 is a tad too much, i would though like the idea of not being able to depip if more than 1 survivor dcs, but i dont think giving survivors/killers free pips would fix the disconnect problem, it would only give us higher ranked newbies, and would make pipping as an experienced or toxic/overly-bold player too easy.
but would survivors dc if they knew how much of a benefit it would be for the others? The majority of DCs seem to occur our of spite
-
I mean everyone in this game can be toxic. I had a game during an event where a killer didnt get a single hook. Gates were open (before EGC was a thing). I felt bad for the killer and decided I'd give him a few event hooks. Got him to follow me and stood under an event hook and pointed at it. He downed and hooked me but wouldnt let anyone near to unhook. I'm not salty I died. Kinda expected I would have. But he robbed himself of so many event hooks this way... My friends laughed and told me that what I get for trying to be nice to the killer....

Most of the DC's I see happen either immediately after a survivor figures out who the killer is or after first dying state before being hooked. Killer is usually near end of match if they haven't hooked anyone. Both seem like players being poor sports to me. Not sure what to suggest to change that.
I had 3 killers dc in a row last night in the first couple of minutes. Always when a hex totem was taken out.

not a perk many would use tho, survivors would just beg to be healed and the perk would be near useless, I don't think it's a good perk overall,
if it means survivors are wasting time healing instead of doing gens then it's doing it's job imho

There are only like 3 or 4 that are truly horrible. The rest are pretty easily manageable, especially with SWF, although I'd like to see different challenges as most of them are just the same thing but slightly harder.
iirc from the stats released a while ago about half the population are solo survivors. The game shouldnt force people to have to go SWF to complete challenges that were apparently aimed at "casual players"

I get your point about Freddy, but they killed Legion after just a few months.
And the re-work to him since? The never-ending trial of dedicated servers. Even glitches/bugs/exploits last far too long. Again, take for example the unending mend bug on Legion! That was in game for far too long...
-
Even if "some of" the challenges in tier 4 are placeholders I'll be disappointed. Pretty much all of them are horrible.

Complaining about the tier 4 challenges is beating a dead horse at this point. It's already been officially said that some of the insane challenges are just placeholders for now.
If I've learned anything about this game its that they are very reluctant to change anything - regardless of outcries. How long did it take for the Freddy rework? Legion? The trial of dedicated servers? They may change the difficulty but I wouldnt be surprised if its not until the next rift or the one after that.

I looked online with the pictures, I can't wait, they sound like fun (I enjoy difficult gameplay implemented by the game, such as dark souls, Bloodborne, sekiro)
There is difficult and then there's impossible / RNG based.
Flashlight saves? You might get one in a game but no killer other than brand new ones would let you get more than 1.
4 Sacrifices in the basement? With the rate of DCs in this game? I dont think so...

They are completely doable, I did each one after the other a single game for each, but what should have been done is the daily rituals also have extras to the tier progression, not too quick still for hardcore players help casuals get through more as that's another 60+ bonus of the blue things
Dude... Thats just Tier 1 Challenges (easy mode). They get progressively more difficult. Tier 4 are impossible or completely luck based. As it stands the rift is not finish-able unless you buy the Rift tiers for 100 AC per Rift Tier.
-
Still dont think that would even be enough. They need to make challenges actually do-able and double fragment gain from xp.
-
Realistically do-able challenges and double fragment gain from xp...
-
I'm PC too and it auto plays for me

There is no excuse for a hatch stand off now. If the killer wants to sit on the hatch waiting for the last survivor then the last survivor can go work on a gen. If the killer wants to continue sitting on the hatch, keep finishing gens until you can open the exit gate. Complaining about hatch stand offs now is the equivalent of complaining about hurting your eyes watching a solar eclipse w/o proper eye wear. You have the tools, you just aren't using them.
So your solution is to complete a gen (basically sending a flair to say where you are) so the killer can then close the hatch and go straight for you as they now know where you are?

It really all comes down to exactly how its done imo. The lanterns were a good example of how to have a side objective without taking away from the core gameplay. Players were rewarded for finishing the game. The flowers on the other hand... players were rewarded for farming. People would load into the match, farm flowers... then find the killer to hook suicide and repeat.
The only issue I had with the lanterns was that they made survivors glow. As killer it was just too easy to find people.
-
Alt objectives are great if everyone is involved. If even one survivor or the killer dont wish to participate it puts them at an immediate disadvantage/advantage respectively.
-
Done but feel you could/should have had more questions. Maybe just similar questions from the killer POV...?

Unpopular opinion, I won't have a massive problem with tome 4, I'm confident in my killer and Survivor ability to pull them off at some point. Just searched 5 chests in the first couple of minutes in one match, I am unstoppable.
There's a wee bit of a difference between looting chests and getting 2 flashlight saves in one match...
A lot of people have completed the firat tome - its the easiest. what were talking about here is whats to come andd how unlikely it is for most to complete the rift...
-
to be honest they should rework every killers emblems. each killer should have unique scoring. like the trappers chase points too
-
If they haven't given WGLF a secondary function by now I doubt they'll give one to Franklin's...

@Hoodied said:
I've been done with the challenges since yesterday
This isnt about the challenges in Tome 1. Most people have these finished or almost finished at this stage. This is about the fragments earned via in-game time and the difficulty of challenges in Tomes 3 and 4.
-
I'm okay with just a prayer beads rework
-
Most people tend to play killer during events. A lot of players play very toxic during events and it's typically felt more as a solo survivor so its easier to play killer.
Also the new challenges encourage almost 50:50 killer:Survivor gameplay so a lot of people will be playing more killer at the moment to complete the challenges.

Undetectable should trump everything but for some reason killers are considered like NPCs and survivors perks are always on top of the stack and there's a perk to counter everything. I honestly don't think myers is hurting too bad from it tho (actually im a fan because now monitor and abuse isn't needed for tier 1) except in red ranks swf because there's a perk to deal with everything but you know....what else is new
iron will and strider for example...?
-
@OP Were they defo talking about you? Because the scores visible seem to indicate that there was a good amount of gameplay and nobody got camped on first hook...
@those calling DS "sweaty" - Its literally an anti-tunnel perk. How are people still mad at it? Theres no real reason to be upset with it if you just dont tunnel the person off the hook... I dont run it when I play survivor and when I encounter it as killer I just think "My bad - sorry about that"...
Regarding the general message - Events do bring out the worst on both sides. Body blockers/sabo event hooks, etc. Killers that basement camp. Everyone is horrible. Events just let people torture others more...

The lie detector test determined THAT was a lie. Survivors do it regardless of how the killer played in game. If you make it to the exits, just leave. Stop holding the game hostage for extra points and grandstanding and move on.
You know Endgame Collapse is a thing, right? It's not holding the game hostage when there's a clock ticking down the end of the match.

iri heads should over ride infantry belt to give a max of 1 hatchet. problem solved.

It really winds me up when survivors stand near the exit or near the hatch and wait for you to get there before they leave
I find this only happens with sweaty killers that tunnel and camp. if the killer played fairly most just leave...

The PTB worked EXACTLY as intended in this case. They made changes to Syptic / Syringe. Put them on PTB to test if they were balanced. Made changes accordingly.
In this case, there was no counterplay. If you saw someone pop a medkit in your face as a killer you'd deduce that it were with one of those 2 addons. The problem was that both of those had 2 very different and opposing counterplays.
The counter to Syptic was waiting 15 seconds for "Endurance" (Borrowed Time) to run out. The counter to Syringe was downing them quickly (within 8 seconds). There was no mindgame. It was a straight up 50/50, coin toss, guessing game. If you assumed it was one when it was the other then you just gave the survivor an extra health-state + speedboost. There was no way of knowing which it was until you swung. Now there is legitimate counterplay as opposed to being a coin toss; downing the survivor in the precise window of 8-16 seconds.
Man, this community really has an issue with at least ATTEMPTING to see things from both perspectives.
dude they're complete trash now... 8sec is way too short! There's yellow and green add-ons that are better than these now. They 100% do not deserve their rare and ultra rarity. They're simplynot sort the bloodpoints.

Ok so if i'm understanding correctly there is no way to collect the serums as of right now and therefor there is nothing extra to do. ok gotcha
basically thats it. You can get extra BP due to the offerings but if BP has no appeal to you then theres no point in playing (except for enjoyment of the game if you still have that).
-
No. I am unable to appreciate that when what I was actually looking forward to wasnt delivered.
There isnt even a sad jack o lantern in the game! The event is so lazy and lack luster....

iirc the rarity for the offerings was never adjusted - even though everyone voiced their concerns...

and why should we?
This temporary delay on the Archive earning of our Serum doesn't matter when we have over two months to get the allocated sixty.
Sure, I'd love to get some extra free outfits, but I'm being realistic.
I didnt say we couldnt get the "free" serums or that the delay hindered that.
All I am saying is that it would garner some much needed goodwill after this cluster...

I'm just confused. At work right now so I don't have a good visual. Are we still able to buy vials and get bps? Are they extending the event? I wish they would do a better job explaining what this delay actually impacts.
So the Archive has been disabled. And becasue of this you cannot progress in the Rift (and therefore you cant get serums for free cosmetics). BPS are still available (and not tied to the event). Pustula petal offerings and Hallowed items are available in the web (this is basically the only things new).
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
We have 70 days (the length of the entire Rift) to collect our 60 Serum.
Giving us some for free won't matter.
The "free" serums allow you to unlock 2 whole outfits.
I think a lot of people would be happy to get some extra outfits for free on top of that...

Ohh I gotcha, so it's in the same area as the archives? Don't mind me, my coffee hasn't kicked in yet
Yup! The Archives are used to unlock The Rift. Without one you cant use the other.
Basically, as of now, all we have are petal offerings in our bloodwebs for even gens and hooks that will give extra BP. We cant gain any serums for cosmetics or rewards as of yet.

You cant. Its been disabled. Going to have to wait and see when it will eventually be fixed.

Indeed. Very disappointing that the main feature of the update has been delayed once again. This seems like a joke but even I couldnt make up something this funny
