I would much rather if the battle pass was actual complete able and didnt reward you back your Auric Cells than the current predatory version...

I'd rather the battle pass actually be complete-able from the challenges and the challenges actually do-able...

even the free one cant be completed. Thats the issue. It was designed so you fail from the start.

Sounds like you’d be better off running alert instead of object of obsession, which already pints a tunnel target on your back
tbh I never use OoO - I'd get tunnelled every game with it lol
Alert doenst seem to work on undetectable killers either though so thats not really worth it either...

I dont know if anyone has brought this up yet but wouldnt you be earning rift fragments from devotion at the same time your doing the challenges? Im not on PC so I dont know about how it is working on the PTB... but if the math is right then...
(111 hours + challenges at the same time) / 70 days = a bit over 1 and half hours a day.
Add in variances for wait times and challenges you struggle with, it still seems manageable... if you Do earn fragments from devotion at the same time you finish challenges which Im guessing is true.
Yes thats how it'll work. But they initially said it should only take ~70 hours to complete (an hour a day). Player estimates are showing its around 50% more time. Not to mention some of the challenges seem almost impossible and borderline trolly for the community (Sacrifice multiple survivors using NOED during the EGC, etc). Its like they looked at what people most complained about and specifically implemented it as a challenge. I'm kinda surprised there isnt one that says "As a survivor on your first down - DC" lmfao

You chose to use OoO. Gotta deal with the downsides
OoO in live is a high risk high reward perk. Both people knowing where eachother are is a pretty big deal and very advantageous to the killer. The killer knowing where you are is a HUGE benefit to the killer and just hella broken.

I like it but I also see them using this for Jane instead of Kate...

You already received the game you paid for. You are not entitled to free content for the rest of your life just because you made the initial purchase. If you buy a burger at Mcdonald's do you assume you are entitled to a free lunch for the rest of your life?
Nobody is saying that. We buy DLC (so no free lunches). All that I'm saying is that if the FREE TRACK is FREE than it should be reasonably expected to be completable in the timeframe set out. I dont have an issue with the battlepass and would have likely paid for it until I discovered that even with the amount I play the game I still am unlikely to have any hope of completing the rift without paying money to complete the tiers - even if I complete all the challenges. Its like saying everyone gets a free drink from the drinks fountain - but you have to pay every time you use the machine for the free drink!

on the FREE TRACK even if you don’t complete it you still get, FOR FREE, some cosmetics and bonus blood points, FOR FREE if I forgot to mention that.
on the FREE TRACK, if i'm not mistaken, you dont get any bloodpoints? The bloodpoints are from the Tome...

Establish for me why content should be free at all. I mean on a fundamental level it isn't free to create and it was created after you bought the base game so you were never promised anything more beyond technical support. I'm not against free content though, I just don't feel entitled to it.
As for playing well and receiving content, this is a game. There is nothing wrong with rewarding completing challenging content. I think it's self evident humans want rewards for accomplishments. On a deeper level the longer you play the more easier the queues are filled which makes all the other players happy.
Money, tasteful or not, keeps the bill paid and the lights on. People don't part with it easily and rarely if ever freely. So yes, you can pay straight up cash to bypass the challenge if its preferred. Though frankly I think you cheat yourself of the sense of the accomplishment by doing it that way.
Define casual. Is it based on time or skill? I'm definitely casual when it comes to time, I struggle to hit rank 10 anytime I play because I do not sit down and play for long periods. In terms of casual in skill I'm far from it. I understand how to run tiles, how to pressure gens, and how to generally make life difficult for my competition. If the pass is made easy enough for an absolutely skill-less casual to complete without sweating it will be a boring and pointless endeavor for the better players. It is meant to provide a challenge for those who do play a lot as they are ones sticking around for long periods growing bored.
None of the content is free. We've already paid for the game. That isnt even the point of this discussion.
The point is that the rift is not complete-able (free or otherwise) without paying IRL money to complete tiers (or play ~4 hours a day every day for 70 days)
-
@johnmwarner said:
Then don’t pay for it, and get what you get from the free track for playing anyways
The point is - even the free track is unlikely to be complete-able without paying to finish tiers.

give an example pls i didnt much care about it too much lol...
"Interrupt 4 Survivors" grabbing survivors is mostly luck. Another was "Sacrifice 2 Survivors During the End Game Collapse Using NOED" and those are just level 3 challenges. Keep in mind levels 3 and 4 only unlock near the end of the Rift's life cycle.
-
Rank rewards would be a huge step forward in combating DCs, Deranking and bullying of new players. I cant understand how its still not a thing...

I've looked through the challenges and most if not all of them can be (and select challenges have to be) done in 1 round. If you're somewhat decent enough you can likely get through these challenges in a short or at least reasonable amount of time. (Provided they remain the way they are in the PTB currently.)
The issue is that even after you have all the challenges done you still wont have enough rift fragments to complete the pass. You need over 100 hours on top of all the challenges to complete it. Thats not factoring in matches that you cant do the challenge because of DCs or just bad games, lobby wait times, DCs, etc. It looks to require around 4 hours everyday for the 70days without even a day off. You have plans for Saturday and Sunday? Better make up for it by doing 6hours everyday...

@BBQnDemogorgon said:
If you're a "hardcore" DbD player putting in crazy hours you'll be able to do the pass easily.
If its 111 hours for 348 fragments and all the archive challenges are 352 that means it'll be around 230 hours rounding up i believe.
Thats 3 or 4 hours of DbD a day completely ignoring the existence of challenges. Easily do-able by "Hardcore players" and streamers.
Your title though is correct this is a casual players problem not a problem for everyone.
That said changes should definitely be made so casual players stand a chance.
that's not including lobby wait times. might as well add 2 hours to your daily estimates
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:

Or just play 3/4 hours per day.
If you can play a lot it'll be 100% earn-able. The people with not much free time will struggle or have to pay yes.
that's over 100hours that don't include grinding for the challenges. It also doesn't include lobby wait times. It's more likely to be a min of 2 hours daily - and that's to including matches where the challenges are just not possible. Can't kick gens because blendettes are running in the corners? that's a wasted match. Can't do unhook because the nea is farm ing in front of the killer? that's a wasted match. I'm all for it being difficult but at least make it a little more achievable- especially if you're paying for the privilege of attempting it!
-
I was actually going to pay for the battle pass until I looked into it. It's almost impossible to complete. Even if you complete all challenges you have to also play over 100hours in 70days to get the remaining fragments needed. This means you'll have to buy the pass and then pay to complete it???
-
The Tome/Rift forces you to play roles you mightn't typically play. And if you recall the last Hallowed Blight Event where you were forced to play half killer/half survivor for serum - that basically broke the entire game via queue times... Any comments on how this could brake the game for everyone when it goes live? How about making each challenge a killer OR survivor one instead?
-
It even gets worse when you realise that the Rift forces you to play roles you mightn't typically play. And if you recall the last Hallowed Blight Event where you were forced to play half killer/half survivor - that basically broke the entire game via queue times...

Its likely cheaper to buy the outfits $10 a piece than to "pay out" for them using the rift currency.
You could buy an outfit or finish a seventh of the rift for $10.
Very likely to be true. I guess it depends on how far in you can make it before the time runs out... I'll just have to wait and see and then do the math
-
I can get over the paid route having more rewards than the free one but to have neither achievable by either for most players is disgusting.
What makes it even worse is that the Halloween event is now tied to the Rift so if you want to earn your "free" event cosmetics you're likely going to have to pay out for it??

or you know...a simple option to toggle on or off matching with swf.
you’re basically wanting to punish for playing with friends :/
This is by far one of the worst suggestions I've seen. Most killers would obviously disable this and survivors just arent going to want to play without their friends. Queue times would just skyrocket and games would take even longer to find matches!

@Peanits I don't mind the skins coming back out later but I'd like something just to show that I eanred the skins. It could be a symbol on the character or a slightly different colour for the cosmetic.
Please consider just giving something, no matter how small it is. I just want to have something to prove I've earned the cosmetic I'm wearing
I'd like to see the cosmetics have different quality if earned (rare) vs store bought (yellow), etc

I'm okay with insta heals being changed. HOWEVER - if they touch instas without even looking at eboni moris first I'll be pissed.

Thats basically the entirety of the forums...

I'd post footage of my own experiences if I could. I only posted the streamer's video because it gave a crystal clear example of what I was talking about.
It seems it was taken down, so I will just post the link here: https://youtu.be/fAYoznKPlNg
Also, camping isn't really an issue in my opinion. The killer loses points by doing so. When I play survivor, sure it feels bad when you get camped and your teammates typically don't know how to handle the situation (i.e. rush gens or make a coordinate effort to save). In contrast, however, DCing has no counterplay. It isn't a good comparison.
Killers only lose emblem points for camping. Not bloodpoints. Some killers see it as a win-win. They get bloodpoints and wont rank up too fast

Then pay the price of waiting 5 minutes for your next game. There should be a price to DC.
Here is an example from Tru3Talent, a fog whisperer:
I cant even tell what youre trying to say...
But can we not post clips of streamers as if they are the second coming and rainbows shoot out their asses? Please and thank you.
Yes, DCs are an issue. Yes, camping is an issue. Its not a "them" vs "you" problem. Both of these are issues and the community as a whole should want them both addressed. Its not like they can fix one but not the other and we have to pick one.

Not at all. Insta heals are a problem but nowhere near as bad as eboni mori. Once moris are adjusted then they need to tackle iri-hatchets, prayer beads and insta-heals

- Toolbox Repair action is replaced with Install Brand New Part.
- Installing the Brand New Part will complete 15 % of a Generator over 5 seconds.
- During the install, you will be faced with 2 difficult Skill Checks.
- Hitting each Skill Check will result in 5 % progression each for a maximum of 25 % added progression.
A 1/4th a gen done is under powered? You don't have a concept of balance.
If you think BNP is still OP than it is you who has no idea of balance...
-
The devs released the stats a while back (before EGC, hatch closing, healing nerf, etc) and there wasnt much of a difference between SWF and solo survival rates...

And no killer likes going against Instant Healers, and BNPs.
How do you propose we nerf these items further?
I'd like to see Septics, and Shots make it so you can only use them on others.
Are you actually complaining about BNPs? Seriously? They are useless and have been nerfed into the ground! Its insane that uncommon addons are now better than ultra-rare!
And tbh - insta heals are weaker than iri hatchets and ebo-moris...
-
no. if a killer has ruin, HG, DH and ToTH - the only chance survivors have is to go for multiple at the same time. If a killer can tell which is which then survivors are SOOL...
-
I hope its just a clown skin. We dont need another clown killer. Having legion and ghostface at the same time is a waste imho - even if their powers are different its just meh.

I know that :) but it's just my opinion doesn't mean it won't happen I'm just upset that players complain about every change that the devs do.
So you're just complaining about a change that the devs did? They implemented SWF... This has to be a troll account. You've been posting similar nonsense a lot recently
-
I'm okay with not farming but would love if it wasn't a mori/slug fest. nobody benefits from those...
-
by "event builds" do you mean iri & infantry mori Huntress? or sabo blendettesquad with Insta heals? these events bring out the most toxic cretins in existence. I don't understand what kind of person gets pleasure from causing others misery...
-
@TunnelVision said:
Just give SWF a seperate queue.
then both killer and survivor queues would be ridiculous. Few killers would be willing to risk going against a SWF and few survivors would want to play without their friends. They're not going to split up the playerbase even more

@ElusivePukka said:
Agreed entirely: the lanterns were unique and fun, offering side objectives for both killer and survivor that weren't "in the way of normal play" while also encouraging some deviation. That's an ideal balance for the events, rather than encouraging the "do the same thing as efficiently as possible to farm more of it quicker" bull they're encouraging with the change.
A major concern that @PigNRun brought up in reference to them was that it favoured higher mobility killers: just stick the lanterns on the backs of lunar hooks, have a hook corrupt the lantern on the back of the special hook, job done - especially if you have a few more in by default.
The other issue with the lanterns was that they made survivors glow - making stealth play/losing the killer pretty darn impossible
-
They cancelled the Summer event in favour of working on the state of the game. A 2x BP weekend isn't difficult to implement and doesn't pull resources like an actual event does.
-
The just need to add rewards that make it actually worth ranking. It baffles me that they havent added one yet...

There is literally NO balance in this game whatsoever. It's literally whoever brings the bigger guns. Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt + Ebony Mori Huntress vs no item survivors? Good luck survivor side. 4 Instaheal/BNPs+BL+Haddonfield vs Huntress with no addons? Good luck Huntress. They might say "Hey a killer might feel a bit too strong at base, so we're nerfing them slightly", but game quality is still a wreck because of how certain things tip the scales from the beginning of the game. That's obviously not going to change, but personally imo games should be balanced around a 50% chance win or lose for both sides, rather than whoever has the best addons/items/offerings. Some people might find the challenge exciting, but that doesn't make it balanced. The other side still has less chance of winning depending on who brings what into the trial from the beginning of the game.
I'd rather things that are brought into a trial change only slightly, rather than be so off the wall that you just feel like "Well, guess this is a depip". As I said, Freddy's addons are probably the closest to balanced while also being somewhat exciting we've ever gotten.
Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt + Ebony Mori Huntress vs 4 Instaheal/BNP and the Huntress is by far going to have the better time...
